It doesn't look like Josh is on there, or his helpmeet would be following him. He's probably busy on other kinds of sites! 😉

Or he’s just not allowed on the Internet anymore.  At least, not officially.

I'm rather astounded at how fast he's gaining.  He's definitely filling the holes in his life with food.  Maybe his girth will slow the baby train shortly.  He does NOT look good or remotely healthy these days.

I just randomly watched My 600-Pound Life last night and this is the commonality with all of the people that show up on this program. It does seem like he's going in that direction. He's one of the taller ones in that family (6' or 6'1") so probably somewhere between 250 - 300 lbs.

He does look much bigger than the last time I saw a photo of him. I am not fat shaming- im a fat gal myself, but when someone gains weight so quickly (rather than just being fat and maintaining, or gaining 5-10lbs a year etc) I wonder if they are going through something medically or emotionally (or both).

This. I refuse to fat shame anyone, even Pest. It's a little scary how much he's changed in just 5 years, if he's not careful he's going to end up in an early grave. He does not look healthy at all.

I was also surprised to see how much weight Josh has gained in the past few months. (Not sure the last time I saw pictures of him. I think one of the summer weddings?)

I've often commented on him eating his feelings, but if I were him or Anna, the sudden weight gain would be something I was concerned about. I'm assuming it's not unexplained weight gain, and it's a mixture of him eating even more than usual and being sedentary, but that's not a good combination. (And I say all that as someone who also eats her feelings and probably needs to lose a good 60 pounds. Maybe more. Let's just say that's a goal for the New Year.)

Those appear to be screen shots of Jessa's video. They look to be distorted and maybe even altered. Between the images and the blurb those pictures feel overly mean spirited, even for a tabloid, even considering the subject.

Below is a picture of Josh wearing the same outfit. It certainly appears he has gained some weight over the last few years, but not like the pictures are meant to show.

Ah. You have a good point. Angles matter. Much less distorted photos.

That makes sense, and it wouldn't surprise me if the picture was distorted. The Daily Fail is, bar none, the most vicious tabloid I've ever encountered (I've seen them be a lot meaner to a lot nicer people than Josh), and the caption is pretty SOP for them.

I was actually a little surprised a British tabloid was covering the Duggars. Do they usually pay any attention to them? Then again, the whole thing about Jeremy and Jinger feeling they deserve more money was also in a British tabloid, so maybe I just didn't pay attention to the amount of coverage they get there.

I don't usually post in this forum, but just to note that the Daily Mail often picks up articles about the Duggars and I've never understood why, since I'm pretty sure their show has never even aired over here. But then, the DM thrives on trashy z-list celebrity nonsense, so probably figures since they are on TV in the US, they qualify to fill a few column inches from time to time. I imagine the editor thinks, "American TV personalities," and puts no more thought into it than that.

I've seen on my TV schedule, a half hour daytime show called "Daily Mail TV." I have never had the slightest tiniest urge to watch it. DM is such a skanky tabloid, as I've learned from occasionally reading their site. Although I've been known to watch some trashy TV, even I draw the line somewhere, lol.

It's basically the conservative Christian version of The Onion. The satire of fundies isn't particularly hard-hitting. Many fundies (and less uptight Christians) I know are fans. I don't find it surprising she's a fan.

If you're referring to online, there's also an American version of the Daily Mail.

Well, Babylon Bee is run by my idiot evangelical cousin's son. I'm guessing they poke fun at fundies because they don't worship the correct Jesus.

Me too.  The Onion misses the mark sometimes; but the Bee doesn't even see the mark most of the time.

I feel like there was a shift a few years ago.  I used to find about half of it funny, now there is almost nothing that isn’t cringeworthy.

Hey, phones run on batteries.

They never use those phones when they're plugged into the recharging station!

Is it odd that Josh Duggar is the only one out of 19 siblings who is seriously overweight? Usually obesity runs in families, either through genetics or learned eating habits. But Josh is the only one. And for all the Duggars' other faults, they have some pretty good genes. No serious illness or disability within a family of 19 kids has to be rare.

I don't know.  I'll bet that Boob could easily gain a huge amount of weight if he wasn't careful.  It is striking seeing how thin they all were back in the pre-TTH days.  Sex pest obviously eats for a hobby.  He doesn't seem to work and you never see him partake in any games or other outdoor activities his siblings do.  Unless i missed it.

I’m guessing that Anna is probably a good cook, and he gets zero exercise, so everything he eats turns to fat.  If he doesn’t have high blood pressure/high cholesterol now, he most likely will at some point.

I think he's an emotional eater. He eats his feelings because he can't express them the way he wants to anymore,  and possibly feels trapped in the situation he's in.

Just my thoughts.

I dont think its odd. Josh is also the oldest, everyone else is still young and none of them were heavy kids which leads me to me to believe his weight gain is based on adult choices. (rather than learned habits during your formative years) Michelle held onto 3-4 pounds with each pregnancy and did a stint on Weight Watchers to get it off. (not an usual thing) Statistically a few more will be heavier as they reach middle age. But they do seem to be a group of slim people, likely through portion control and physical activity.

Oh, yes. He must be desperately unhappy at what his life has become, compared to the life he once enjoyed. If he had more personal freedom, I think he might well have turned to alcohol or pornography instead of food to sooth himself. But I'm sure that he is kept on a very tight leash and not allowed to leave the TTH without an accountability partner (and that partner would be instructed to be hyper-vigilant). Even if he wanted to, I doubt if he could ever get away with purchasing a six-pack of beer or a bottle of whiskey. And since the family knows that Satan has already used porn as a snare to trap Josh, I'm sure that he has no unsupervised access to a computer. Cheeseburgers, milkshakes and donuts have become his self-medication by default.

Josh did only used to get a 1/21 portion of the tater tot casserole. Now he gets a 1/8 portion. Maybe that's the problem. I remember in the early episodes of however many kids and Counting, the Duggars shopped at Aldi and always bought and made crappy, unhealthy food. I agree portion control must have been key. And there is healthy food at Aldi, but you didn't see much of it in the Duggars' 15 shopping carts.

I don't remember Michelle doing Weight Watchers. Did they advertise it?

Josh left home long before there were 19 kids.  And, as the second oldest male in the household, he would have been served second.
