Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody

Recommended Posts

My profound hope is that once the actual baby is born, her need for drama will be more than satisfied by the new arrival. With any luck, she can have a big old “motherrr eees bleeeedinggg” TLC EMT/ambulance birth and hold that over her daughter’s head instead of a fictional older brother (after all, “I risked my life to have you!” is a family motto...)

Poor Si...he’s so screwed.

I looked up that Bible verse "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry  4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."

It doesn’t make sense that this verse is used for a make up company! Wouldn’t using make up be using outward adornment to enhance your beauty?

That little girl is going to grow up with survivor's guilt.  How sad that makes me.

On a superficial note, I always check a mirror before I leave the house for boogers.  I'm hardly ever photographed, but you bet I would check then, too.  Snotty noses just make me queasy.

Ha ha, me too! Always check for boogers and something stuck in my teeth!

I'm no Lauren fan, but I don't really find that insufferable - getting down onto the floor in late pregnancy was freaking impossible for me! It was a multi step process with unattractive groaning.

Also, it seems that they're having their classes in a hospital? Thank god they're not as stupid as Jill and Jessa and just planning to wing it at home on the sofa. I think Josiah will be a very diligent birth partner and father.

I am around this age group a lot at work and the thought of them raising children is a little scary.  Most are not ready to care for themselves let alone be a parent.  I also find it quite sad to give up your youth.  But whatevs.  At 18/19/20/21 I rather enjoyed going out at all hours, going to concerts, clubs, to Frimples for cinnamon rolls at 2am just 'cause, driving to LA because I had an afternoon free, driving to Mexico for a long weekend, but different strokes I guess.

I guess she doesn't know that Hispanic means spanish speaking. She should have said she's a quarter Salvadoran

I don’t know why I was taken back to this page, but thought I’d comment while I’m here. Hispanic does not exclusively mean Spanish-speaking. I majored in Spanish and have lived in two Latin American countries and never heard that.

Merriam-Webster gives these definitions: “1: of, relating to, or being a person of Latin American descent and especially of Cuban, Mexican, or PuertoRican origin living in the U.S.

2: of or relating to the people, speech, or culture of Spain”

The Hispanic Network offers this explanation: “Hispanic and Latino are often used interchangeably though they actually mean two different things. Hispanic refers to people who speak Spanish and/or are descended from Spanish-speaking populations, while Latino refers to people who are from or descended from people from Latin America.”

Lauren really is insufferable.  I can only imagine how she would deal with a fussy, colicky baby.  I really hope for the child’s sake that she is an easy baby who feeds well and sleeps well.

I kind of hope the baby is a nightmare of colic and fussiness and Lauren decides she can't handle it again and she and Josiah decide to use birth control.

Lauren is I'm sure going create problems for her daughter if she doesn't straighten out very soon.  We lost a twin in utero and didn't tell the survivor until she was in her late teens.  There were zero mentions or memorabilia or anything ever.  As my mother put it so nicely life is for the living move on with the best life for the daughter you do have.  Wonderful words.  Lauren needs to hear and believe something like that.

Don't feel like you have to answer, but did your twins have TTTS by chance? My grandsons did and thankfully had surgery to correct the blood flow. It's not talked about much and I think current medical technology is helping a lot!

Lauren has it backwards, Josiah has the hard part. In my opinion, it's far more pleasant to be pregnant than it is to listen to someone bitch and moan for nine months.

Especially when they same person bitches and moans nearly as much (or maybe fully as much) when they're not pregnant, too.....

I totally agree. I’m due around the same time as Lauren and hate picking up my toddler’s toys etc. from the floor. Late pregnancy is the pits. And thank god they’re planning a hospital birth!

I looked up the ingredients in the foundation by this company...basically coconut oil, clay, arrowroot powder and wax.  I would be one great big zitball too if I used this product!

I know pregnancy hormones are in play, but Lauren looks like she is well on her way to being a great big zitball as well.  I can feel a zit getting ready to form on my face just reading that ingredient list.  I can't use coconut water let alone oil on my skin without breaking out.  I didn't know fundies were on the coconut oil bandwagon as well.

I have a feeling that Lauren is completely opposite to her sister-in-laws.  She's probably be going to every pre-birth class possible, weekly ultrasounds, second and third opinions during pre-natal checkups and the most lavishly equipped birthing suite at the hospital reserved.

I hope you're right and if so, good for her.

I'm not sure she's planning a hospital birth. That picture reminded me of the place where Jill and Derick had their Lamaze classes.

She will never get any mental help because they don’t believe in it.

I think Andrea Yates was fundy... She got help all right after she killed her kids.

The Andrea Yates story was tragic. She was suffering badly from postpartum depression -- which worsened into postpartum psychosis -- thanks to her husband and church leaders telling her she needed to avoid medication, pray it away and be more submissive.

They just look so deeply and totally not-in-love that I'm constantly amazed that they post these photos. Lauren also looks just so very super-thrilled to be pregnant that I don' think that her lack of interest in Josiah bothers her at all. As long as he can perform sufficiently for her to be knocked up, I think that that's fine with her (for now).

I think there are two reasons why the young Duggars are so obsessed with the concept of “date nights”.  Their adolescent years are so ridgedly controlled by their parents and they’re rushed into marriage at such a young age. On some level, they’re aware that they missed out on all the normal teenage activities like dating and they’re trying to re-capture those moments. It’s sad, really. The second reason is more pragmatic. They live their lives on social media and they’re well aware that the “haters” are critical of the way these kids are pushed into arranged marriages. So, they post these staged, passionless “date night” pictures to prove to the world how much in looove they are and how hot they are for each other.

Do these people ever think about men with pregnancy fetishes?

Do you think Si still wipes his mouth after kissing Lauren?  Like he did after his wedding kiss?

She probably had lipstick or lipgloss on ( I hope anyway) otherwise poor Lauren.

And that slug husband of hers never had a glimmer about his own role in the tragedy. He went on to remarry and have more kids.

Lauren strikes me as a spoiled princess, who will be looking for free babysitters soon as childcare becomes work. However, she seems all about appearances, so I'm sure the photos of the perfect family will continue ad nauseam.

I know looks aren't supposed to be everything but Si really makes me feel skeevy.  It's mainly his hair with that puff part in the front & the  use of greasy looking styling products.  The resemblance to Smuggs doesn't help either. Maybe he looks better in real life but I doubt it.

His hair/hairline is extremely unfortunate.  He won’t look good bald/fully-shaven at all.

Seriously. I think Trump and Pelosi would make a more believable couple. Si and Lauren are just so....flat. It's like they have no emotions towards each other whatsoever.
