Like some of you alluded to... hopefully she won't go to school with bullies because her names are very close to Vagina Vulva.

I went to school with a kid named Pat Shmear. Take a wild guess what his nickname was, lol.

Jinger looks a lot happier in all the photos we've seen of her so far than her entire pregnancy combined.

Even though I am sure she is exhausted, she might just be happy not to be pregnant any more. (In addition to knowing her baby is here and okay).

I could not imagine being pregnant during this pandemic to be any sort of "fun", not that any of us were having a lot of fun this year but still.......

I think Evangeline is a really nice name.  Rhythmically though, Jo falls with a thud.  It's not egregious though.

I like nicknames.  To have a legal name that is serious enough for an adult in a profession with a variety of potential nicknames is ideal.  It allows for baby/toddler names and ones that work through growing up and for casual adult use.  Evangeline fits the bill.

Meech is wearing a fucking bandana, not a secure mask, at a doctor's office. I would have thrown her out.

and what happened to all those masks the duggar girls made on the show and the Vuolo's Dodger masks, seen once and never again

I know the Duggars pop out babies like interchangeable Pez dispensers, but every once in a while when I look at a picture of an hours old, or even days old, baby, I'm taken back by the wonder it all is.

Like little EJ, just 3 days ago, was tucked away in Jinger's womb and here she is today, a fully formed little human, breathing air and trying to make sense of this thing called life.

It’s amazing how they go from totally dependent on another human being to being able survive on their own. That first cry is always unforgettable.

Now that I got all mushy, why the heck does Michelle need to go to the pediatrician with them?  I can understand Jeremy, but most doctor’s offices aren’t allowing more than one parent in usually. Must go to MacArthur’s church. (Covid?  What Covid?)

Those bandanas have been proven to be totally worthless.  You cannot wear them at the airport (nor at the casino my 83 yo mom still goes too!).

I don't think the Jo matters at all because unlike hick Jessa who actively goes around calling her daughter "sister" or "Ivy Jane", I don't see Jinger and Jeremy using her middle name at all. It will just be Lissy and whatever nickname they choose.

I GUESSED EVANGELINE!!  I never get any name or date guesses right!  Woo hoo!

Yes I declared you the winner on the previous page. You and pikascrewchu.

I like Evangeline. It's popular, but not as popular as Amelia and Charlotte.

Jo is an odd choice imo. Jo is very country for such city slickers. It's Jo Vuolo, which has three o sounds in a row.  Joe-Voe-loe!

The Vuolo's: JereME and the rest of the family

Taking inspiration from the today.com article, I would like to see:

The Vuolos: Jinger Dugger, her daughters, and her husband

Jo is a weirdly humble way to end an elegant name like Evangeline but I get the shortness.  They wanted to honor the “Joseph” in Jeremy’s name.  Any variation of “Joanna” or “Johanna” would have been too close to her 3 sisters with the same name.  “Evangeline Josephine” (too much of a rhyme scheme) or “Evangeline Josephina” would have been a mouthful.

Yeah, this dislike of Jo as a middle name makes me sad, probably only because it's also my middle name, after my grandpa. It's also my niece's middle name, but after her paternal grandma.

To be honest, when I was a kid I wished it would have been Josephine because I thought that's a prettier name and because I thought people would think it was backwoods or hillbilly. It's disheartening to see I wasn't exactly wrong.

As an adult I like my name because it's mine. I'm not Josephine, I'm Jo, and I'm not upset about it.

What difference does the sound of her her middle name make? I don't use my middle name except on paperwork. Felicity doesn't. Most people don't. It mostly helps differentiate people with similar first and last names.

For the same reasons as for the first name and it's just nice when the complete name flows together.  I know people who use their middle name. I do.

I like Jo as a middle name. I just don’t think it goes great with Evangeline. I don’t think it’s terrible, just not the best combination, IMO. I like Kelly Jo (Bates).

I prefer short middle name with long first name.

Christopher Dean vs Christopher Jonathan

Evangeline Jo vs Evangeline Victoria

Just my preference

I agree about long first names with short middle names. Someone mentioned it up thread, but I think Evangeline Hope would have been a beautiful name.

She's a cutie. Jinger looks really happy.  Mr Pocketsquare is an idiot with his mask down, and stupid Meech and her bandanna. Unacceptable. Idiotic bitch. She doesn't need to be there at the Dr office. Pandemic or not. Not crazy about the name, but I've heard way worse. I've got kids in my class who's names make me face-palm. At least Evangeline doesn't. I wonder if they chose it because it's close to "Evangelical".

I'm convinced her original name was Amelia, but they changed it once they got scooped 😛

And the kid looks more like the offspring of Joy and Austin than Jer and Jinger. I mean, look at the schnoz on her!

Why does a fundamentalist Christian even have one of the most sacred Jewish prayers in Hebrew on a pen, anyway?  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shema_Yisrael  My rabbi doesn't have The Lord's Prayer on a T-shirt.

Evangelical Christians consider Israel crucial to ushering in the apocalypse. They also see themselves as the direct inheritors of Israel (nation, not boy). Prophecy states that, among other things, when the great temple is erected. The teensy problem is that one of the holiest Muslim sites (Dome of the Rock) was rebuilt on the site of the Second Temple. Evangelicals tend to be very supportive of Israel, base their voting on who supports supports Israel the most, etc.

As to the Duggars, fundamentalist/evangelicals believe themselves the righteous heirs to the Jewish tradition, in addition to being "God's chosen." I think this is why some of them wear a Star of David and/or name their children Israel.;-) They seem to believe that as the natural inheritors of the history and symbols of the Jewish religion. (their opinion, not mine). Sadly, they (Duggars) seem to know nothing about the actual history of and belief in the resurrection of the Temple in Jerusalem.  I think they just go, "ooooh, shiny." In other words, I'm quite sure they have no actual depth on the topic. Shocking.

When I see Jo I don’t think hillbilly, I think Little Women. Jo March is about as far from a Duggar as you can get.

I was one of the ones who criticized the name. As I mentioned earlier, it's not the name on its own, which is cute. It's the way it sounds with Evangeline that people are critiquing. The names just don't go together, in my opinion. If they just named the kid Jo that would seem less weird to me than Evangeline Jo.

I think of Jo March, too. Her name was Josephine, but she always used Jo.

I like Evangeline Jo, but I am a hillbilly, and my kids have names that would be called redneck on these boards, although they are traditional names.
