They were both being ridiculous about Snoopy, though Carole pretending she didn't know who he was when the matchmaker set up a date, was pathetic considering last week's THs. And Bethany was clearly insulted that some guy who went after her, just went to the next person on the list. Gross.

It's funny, everyone said B "brought out" C's mean girl, but Carole is clearly, CLEARLY a mean girl on her own, in a colder way than B. After seeing her in action this year, and a preview of her complete lack of sympathy for B crying, former friend or not, Carole is a piece of work.

It occurred to me when Carole volunteered to push Ramona in the wheelchair that she'd done it before with Anthony, like hey I know how to do this. I'll admit, it made me a little sad. I know there's a lot of distaste for her but I still say she'll never be over her husband's passing. I'm not excusing her behavior or perception of her as a whole. It's just something I think about from time to time. Just like Dorinda is not over Richard. I think it affects you and you're never really the same again. And some days it affects you more than others.

Not to be combative, but like Dorinda said, "you get back what you give!" Bethenny's the worst when it comes to feelings because she's always putting others on the spot letting them know when they fk up! You almost expect Ramona to be this self-serving b!tch living in her own reality; what's Bethenny's excuse? ;-)

I didn't think the hotel in Columbia was that bad. It wasn't a resort - but it was still a nice hotel. I thought those comments came off as "ugly americans" as there was nothing wrong with where they were staying. That's how a lot of places in the developing world look- and I thought it was nice.

She ruins every single interaction she's in, and if she's not in control of the situation she breaks down and acts like everyone is mean-girling her. Caught her act on "Beat Bobby Flay" a while back! She's exactly the same way in her other personal appearances; tries to take over the room, insults how your mother raised you, then laughs it off as if "I'm so entertaining! People must love me!" NOT! ;-(

Bethenny taking issue with Carol's use of "it's not that deep" is a bit much, since Bethenny used that very line on Heather, IIRC.

And I find it a bit suspicious that both Bethenny and Kyle found themselves in need of Benadryl in foreign countries after exposing themselves to known allergens.  Kyle knew that horse was there and anyone with a fish allergy asks what is in dishes.  (Half my family is allergic to fish; it isn't hard to ask what is in a dish.  Plus, a trained chef...or even a trained cook...should be able to poke through a bowl of soup and identify ingredients by smell and appearance.)

Agree with your whole post, but especially this point about bringing meds and asking about  what’s in the food. I have extremely serious food allergies and I’m constantly asking what’s in stuff. This is no Mexico -- this is going to be all shit, no giggles --  Luann and Tinsley are trying to keep things moving, but the group dynamic is so fucking sour, it's a toxic cloud hanging over everything.  Even the villa (as charming and pretty as it is) feels as claustrophobic as these relatiosnhips have become -- Carole (despite the studied cool) is getting ready to snap Frankel's neck like a wishbone, Dorinda only comes alive if there's meddling to be done, Sonja keeps doing "Are you my mother" bonding with Bethenny, Bethenny has all the joy of a sadomasochistic prison matron, and Ramona has no place to perform the one thing she does expertly; paddle in a large pool like a water dog eagerly searching for a bird. 

Enough grim  -- fun with fashion!  -- who wore it better? Dracula Barbie or Carole Radziwill?

No. Ramona was talking about an Asian wrap containing chicken.  The camera lingered on that dish too.  I forgot to delete the episode so I was able to go back and confirm this.  After eating the soup Bethenny said she thought it had been made with chicken.  Not the greatest palate, in my opinion, for someone who used to be a chef.

Bethenny reminds me of the Queen Bee of a teen clique who when losing position and power tries to regain it by resorting to victimhood.  I spent all four year of high school in an all girl school so I've seen it happen many times. This episode was giving me serious flashbacks.  Carole has bugged me since her first season. Whatever the hell she was wearing tonight is one of the reasons why.  I do like the way she is dealing with Bethenny though.  She keeps her calm and stays focused.  Probably the only one so far that has been able to do that.  Bethenny has bugged me since her days on the Martha Stewart Apprentice season.  Seeing her seemingly unable to deal with someone she can't steamroller over doesn't make me feel sorry for her in the least.  I wonder if the ability to promote her brand on the show is going to be enough to make her return for another season.  On WWHL tonight Andy intimated that Carol and Bethenny remain on the outs.  Should be a good season 10 reunion.  

In case anyone is keeping track, on WWHL Tinsley said she and Scott are back together again.  She also said he pays the 30K/month rent.

It's funny, because just last night on Hulu I was watching some of season 7, and it had the scene where B and C are still getting to know each other-they are in a furnishing store-and B starts talking about the state of her personal life and loses it. I loved Carole in that moment, because, while worrying that Bethenny might need a hug  ("I'm not a hugger!") she offers some napkins on display for Bethenny to use as tissues. When B balks a bit, C reassures her that they are only two bucks each.

 

I miss those people.

I was touched by how proud the delivery people were and how carefully they treated it.  That was a special arrangement for that florist and  unforgettably unique. You don’t get to badger and berate others about how you *do* know it all only to get salty that it’s turned back on you.

Bethenny is looking for sympathy by any means necessary. She landed in Colombia, walked through the doors of the airport, and declared that she didn’t want to be around Carole (or Dorinda). Carole likely sensed that and moved accordingly. 

I relate to Carole in that regard. If I know you don’t care for me, I’ll act accordingly. I’ll keep living my life, laughing with my friends, keep doing me even if you are in my presence at a gathering. I think that’s what is freaking Bethenny out, honestly. 

Carole is still laughing with the other women, talking with them, joking with them, with or without Bethenny’s room-sucking neurosis affecting her, and Bethenny can’t deal. She wants everything to shut down because she and Carole aren’t vibing, and Carole is on some “I’ll keep living my life over here.”

I said it earlier (and I think I even said it somewhere last season in Carole’s thread) that she enjoys fashion. Fashion is risky. There are those who are, like, give me J. Crew/Banana Republic/Ann Taylor/Anthroplogie all day everyday and twice on Sundays. That’s cool; that’s fine. We like what we like. There are others who like playing dress up and like trying out looks (or LEWKS as the gay boys say lol). Carole is the latter.

I respectfully disagree.  I had a co-worker who would be fine when she walked in the door each morning, then by the morning meeting she worked herself into a crying breakdown of what was going on in her life.  The morning meeting would turn into an "oh, poor Susie" moment, and the morning started off as one hell of a downer!  Granted, she was having some serious issues, but we all helped her out and were very compassionate, but you could almost set your watch by these moments.  Again, I'm not being cold about it.  I just find Bethenny to be very calculating in her moments of despair.  She couldn't handle seeing Tinsley happy.  She even admitted it!  Quick, I've got to have a panic attack about something that's going to happen in a few months (restraining order with Jason.)   I'm not saying she shouldn't be concerned about it, but how convenient to go into her histrionics so that all of the ladies could once again rally around her.  I think every group has an Eeyore, and IMO, she's it.

Ramona and her wheelchair. Good Lord. Sure, she actually hung up her own clothes this trip (did Miguel just leave???), but she still found SOME way to get waited on hand and FOOT. 

Tinsley's room idea was pretty clever, and thoughtful, but she might want to know more about the country she's visiting than coffee, cocaine, and beer. 

Carole thinks that dress is sexy? She looked like a brothel owner in the 1850s. With a dead peacock hanging from her ear. 

 

So is Bryan the new Tom? I had that dude pegged before any of the ladies made the comparison. He's all over the place! And I do NOT see the attraction.  Ramona throwing herself at a dude is no surprise, but the way Carole was acting about him definitely put me off. She was so certain the dude wasn't into Bethenny. But it sounds like he was mildly text-stalking her. 

I feel bad for Bethenny this trip. I know, I know, I'm the biggest B apologizer out there. But I do. It's quite clear she's in a lot of pain. One thing that keeps me on team B is her self awareness and willingness to own her shit. It was completely out of line for her to bitch about the house Tinsley hooked them up with. But she knows it. And she apologized. She admitted to being jealous. It's hard for her to be on this trip with Carole, when Carole's icing her out and all buddied up to Tinsley. 

She needs to chill or go home, though. Her hysterics aren't fair to the other girls. I sympathize with her, I understand. But she's attention seeking right now, and it's not cool. Everyone just wants to chill and have fun. She's got to get a grip. 

Also, B should know better than to check into a vacation home and NOT let the kitchen staff know about her allergy.

I’m sorry, there is no comparison between Scary Island Kelly and Columbia Bethenny.  Kelly went after Bethenny for everything from the very recent death of her father to her company....and it wasn’t just Scary Island.  Kelly had it out for Bethenny from her very first episode.

Bethenny will always be my favorite housewife.  This was not a good episode for her, but she knew going there that she was on the outs with Dorinda and Carole.  She’d said as much in her eattlier episodes. She cane there in defensive mode and Carole’s response to her about red scarf guy was cutting/nasty.  And I hope Carole feels like an ass when she sees that he was texting Bethenny non-stop.   I do think she thought she had a real friendship with Carole.  I remember seeing pics of Carole with her CA celebrity friends at Christmas Time and all I could think was that Carol was a total poser.  She’s in her mid-50’s and she was posting group photos with her BFF’s like a middle schooler.

Bethenny has never pretended to be something she’s not.  She’s tightly wound, emotional, crazy, funny, vulnerable and has a big heart.  I think she’s totally in love with Dennis and the fact that he can’t be committed to her probably feels awful...and I wish he could, because I like what I see in those two.  

And I really hope that Carole/Ramona/Dorinda understands that love her/hate her this show is not the same without Bethenny.

Here is the clip where "Sonja young" is said.  Hypocritical Carole had said in another clip that she didn't know whether Sonja was dating him or babysitting but gets immediately defensive about Adam. So defensive for what's supposed to be just a casual fling.

It's interesting to me how everyone perceives the Carole/Bethenny "friendship" or what is left of it. There is much conjecture and speculation on our parts. We can't know what goes on behind the scenes, but of course we all have our opinions. ;) It's either team Carole or team Bethenny without much in between. I am not team Bethenny. She is so exhausting and exasperating. Talk about smug! I couldn't be around someone like that. I think Carole finally saw the real Bethenny. (just my oh so humble opinion) Carole didn't like what she was seeing and is trying to distance herself. I totally understand this as it's happened to me in the past few years. Some people just suck the life out of you with their constant neediness. Bethenny berates Carole for silly things which is so immature. She age shames her and makes fun of what she wears. I have friends that wear things of a questionable nature. I don't put them down for it. If it makes them feel good, then more power to them. If I looked as good as Carole, I'd probably wear some of the things she does too. I don't know...think I'm ready for Bethenny to move on from this franchise. She is taking the fun out of it.
