It looks like she's wearing a T shirt in a heavier material that actually fits her, so no belly button popping out. And no modesty layer underneath. Not bad. #rainbowbaby -- That hashtag is going to draw at least a bit more attention for her, at least for a second. Her post will get on lists related to that hashtag.....She clearly wants attention -- and probably followers, if she can get them -- just like the rest of them do. Attention beats accuracy and appropriateness every time for Lauren, I expect. I expect that's at least part of why they all use so many -- maybe "media consultant" Laura's idea (well, maybe it isn't why Jill does it -- she may just be in the dark because....uh....Jill.) .....With the others, though, I'd be surprised if their "media consultant" hasn't recommended using a lot of hashtags -- hopefully ones that other people use -- as a traffic booster. (The "other people use these" thing may trip most of the Duggarlings up, of course. I doubt they pay much attention to what's happening among the general public on social media or that they'd spend any time looking up what the popular hashtags are for the kind of stuff they're posting....) But many small-business coaches and marketing coaches tell small and new enterprises to use a ton of oft-searched hashtags like #rainbowbaby-- I've heard 25 or 30 per post suggested-- to up their chances of getting people to look (even if the hashtags aren't all 100 percent relevant -- just kinda relevant). The same advice isn't given if you're already very well known.....but a lot of people do recommend this for people who are still trying to build an audience. And I've heard of it working for some people too....I expect Laura has heard the same.....And Duggardom is on the hunt for followers these days.....Gotta build the audience and the "influence" because Dollars and Fame! 3 Link to comment

I don't think this means spackle makeup all over your face. I say this as someone who wears makeup every day, but I do it because I like it, and I don't bring the bible into it. 19 Link to comment

Making Asa a boy is just the patriarchy rearing its ugly head, and will always be a reminder to their little girl that she was not first. Make no mistake, she will see these pictures and this has the potential to really hurt her. Big brother Asa can never be a disappointment, but she can. It makes me sick to think Lauren is starting her daughter on this path before she is even born. I hope for the daughter's sake that Lauren will focus on and enjoy her living child so that the sad memories of the miscarriage fade away. My mom had several miscarriages and two still births before she had me, but I never knew it until I was 10 or 11 and was learning about Mr. Monthly Visitor. The idea of a cake in memory of a miscarriage creeps me out. Edited September 28, 2019 by Twopper 19 Link to comment

Lauren can make a cake and have her daughter make presents for her deceased older brother . . . I have a friend that does this, and we actually stopped speaking for a time because of it. My heart broke for her that she had a relatively late miscarriage (much later than Lauren). I have had a few, but all early. She was lucky enough to go on to have more children (I was never able). She makes one of her kids share a birthday with their deceased sibling, and she never makes much of an effort to show happiness at this party. It upsets me. It's not fair to the living child who has to include a cemetary visit in their special day (there are 364 other days to do that). And one time, I lost my temper and said "At least you went on to have several more children. Please think of them on their special day, and celebrate." That caused her to stop speaking to me for several years. She seems to have dialed back on the "festivities". Link to comment
Albanyguy September 28, 2019 Share September 28, 2019 This whole "Asa" thing reminds me of Elvis Presley, who had a twin brother that died at birth. His mother, who was a bit of a whack job, raised Elvis to live in the shadow of his dead twin, constantly harping on the invisible "brother" who was always at his side. Elvis grew up never feeling like an individual in his own right and became obsessed with lavishing endless devotion on his mother to make up for the fact that he was alive and his twin wasn't. I think Lauren's new baby is in for a rough time. 2 Link to comment

Popular Post 3 is enough September 29, 2019 Popular Post Share September 29, 2019 I don’t get it. I had 3 pregnancies. Yes, I got big and was uncomfortable. I had carpal tunnel and in the latter stages of my last pregnancy I had to sleep sitting up some nights because lying on my shoulder would cause my arm to fall asleep and the “pins and needles” feeling was really unpleasant. But I just went and got into the recliner and tried to go back to sleep. I didn’t wake my husband, or wish that he could “feel my pain”. What would that have accomplished? Lauren really is insufferable. I can only imagine how she would deal with a fussy, colicky baby. I majored in Spanish and have lived in two Latin American countries and never heard that. Merriam-Webster gives these definitions: “1: of, relating to, or being a person of Latin American descent and especially of Cuban, Mexican, or PuertoRican origin living in the U.S. 2: of or relating to the people, speech, or culture of Spain” The Hispanic Network offers this explanation: “Hispanic and Latino are often used interchangeably though they actually mean two different things. Hispanic refers to people who speak Spanish and/or are descended from Spanish-speaking populations, while Latino refers to people who are from or descended from people from Latin America.” 8 10 Link to comment
