A bachelor ends his relationship with a fickle bachelorette and leaves Paradise; a popular couple return to Paradise and deliver a date card that stirs up drama for two couples.

All the roses to Vinny! Vinny, don't leave! Go full-Ashley and stay there to cry at Izzy and Brett to make her love you! Oh, well, on second thought, I guess leave with some dignity. Never thought having dignity was a possibility in Paradise, but there you go beating the odds! Does Brett even WANT to date Izzy? There's no other option if he wants a rose this round, so I guess he'd take it by default.

Unsurprisingly, I don't get Lace. She's the one acting not invested and then gets pissy at Grant for Janner not thinking she's not as invested as he is--while expressing she's not as invested. Grant, you can do better!

Josh is bribing Janner for the date? He's just smarmy.

Janner picked Jared and Caila for their BIP "on paper" fantasy matchup?! They're getting the date even despite Ashley's attempted sabotage. ... Yep.

Jen is looking for a love profession after a few days?! Slow your roll! Nick is being rational while also seemingly pursuing their relationship.

Ashley, you are not "forced to watch Jared fall in love." You begged to come back to watch this with your "open mind."

Carly has not accepted all of you, Evan. You'll be heartbroken when you watch all of her talking heads. But I guess this ceremony truly is a ceremonial turning point to put that behind them. Sweet Right Reasons moment. Jeez, first some dignity sneaks into Paradise and then some genuine Right Reasons?! Where's Daniel when you need some levity? Really, where is he? Haven't seen him at all.

Ashley is devious! What the hell happened to me that I'm frustrated with her Wrong Reasoning?! That shaman mojo steam must have made its way through my TV. But good for you, Caila! ... Oh, never mind, you're not very adept at putting your foot down. Telling Ashley that if she doesn't stop she's stalling your relationship isn't exactly going to deter her.

Oh, there's Daniel...stuck trying to explain to a twin what Europe and/or a continent is. And she doesn't know who the first president was? Really!? The twins cannot possibly be that stupid, right? It's inconceivable.

I like Nick, but when he said tonight that he didn't want to be a joke, all I could think was, "too late". Also, if he was really traumatized by being dumped twice on national television, he wouldn't be on this show. And I say all this as a person who likes him. That said, I actually found him and Jennifer kind of cute and their conversation seemed real, which is always a rarity on these shows. It was a nice break from the Ashley/Jared/Caila saga

Oh boo hoo Vinny.  A girl you have known for all of a month wants to date other people.   How dare she be attracted to someone else?

What were Jared and Caila kissing in? An open sewer?  That water looked really brown and gross.

Poor Carly can't catch a break and get a fun date on this show.  Who thought it would be a good idea to put a plastic snowman in a sweat lodge?

Lace's hair looks like she called Amber and asked if she could borrow that muskrat she wore on her head last season, her not getting re invited and all.   The Sumo bun just makes it look even more unfortunate.

Josh is a creepy, controlling weirdo.

Maybe I had a special Josh friendly TV during Andi's season as I actually kinda liked him back then but man, I really, really, really loathe him now.   And I can't wait till next week when it looks like he looses his shit on National TV.    That ought to be good.

As for Vinny, hopefully the tears were fake and once back home, he was ok with the fact that he wasn't leaving Paradise in some fake relationship.  I'm sure he'll be a hit on the reject circuit.

Snerk!  You always make me laugh, Mu Shu.

I did feel sorry for Vinny, though.  Probably because his beautiful eyes are extra pretty when he cries.  Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Brett will choose Jen or a twin and leave Izzy roseless.

I finally saw the sex panther side of Caila and the human male in Jared.   I was hoping Ashley would see them in the grotto and finally get a clue, but no.

After years of kind enjoying Ashley's shtick, I'm officially over it now.  It's taken a turn from emo-girl toward mean-girl and she's become too old for either role.

Jade is still beautiful and Tanner is still talking for both of them.   I guess it works for them.

I don't think she was looking for him tell her he loves her but just some indication that he was truly interested. Her issue seemed to be that Nick would be guarded and distant at times to where she had no idea what he was thinking or if he was even interested in her at all. And I can imagine that would be frustrating for someone.

Nah, it's just called getting a good edit. Remember Nick was the "villain" of that season and Josh the "good guy" - at least that's what the editing wanted you to believe.

Ashley I. tries her darnedest to get Jared to dump Caila, while other contestants variously sweat it out in a "rebirth" ceremony, make out in the rain, and tearfully storm off camera. Who fares the worst in the week's second episode?

Did Ashley say 'strugglebus.' And.....is that a word?

I think Nick is always 100% full of shit, no matter what he's saying.

Was that a Calvin Klein commercial or just Jared and Caila making out in the water?

You either have swag or you don't. And if you don't, you're never going to have it.

Izzy's mouth looks like she's always just fresh from the dentist's office and the novocaine hasn't worn off yet. Besides that, she's just simply pretty.

I love how Ashley kept telling Jared that she was just telling Janner "what she's heard" about Caila...yeah...what she's heard from the voices in her own head saying what a backstabbing whore Caila is.

I admit to feeling kind of soft and "aw" at Carly and Evan. Who'd have thought I'd be rooting for those two crazy kids. At least they seem somewhat self-aware and don't expect perfection out of each other. I find it interesting how Carly's feelings have changed as she's gotten to know him. It's like the infamous "they" always say... in general, (of course there are exceptions) women are turned on by emotional intimacy. Izzy being the exception, I suppose. Poor Vinny.

I seriously hope Jared and Caila weren't full on "going there" in that mucky water. It can't be good for the innards. And Ashley... no one forced you to watch, hon. You could try to salvage the sliver of dignity you might possibly have left and take yourself on home. See again: Poor Vinny. Bless his heart.

I actually laughed when she said that. I use that all the time, as in "I'm riding the struggle bus today."

That being said, the amount of secondhand embarrassment I suffer while watching Ashley is just ridiculous. Girl needs to get a clue, and fast.

My former junior high students acted that way. For a day or so, in the throes of heartbreak.  Not years.  Is she really 28??  I couldn't even watch it with the volume on. I get the show needs "drama" but I'm really missing Claire and the raccoon.

Oh my good Lord Ashley. Calm the hell down, wipe your tears, and stop your mean girl crap. You are a grown ass woman, and you are losing your damn mind over some guy who is clearly not into you while surrounded by attractive and rather desperate guys on a tropical island. Build a bridge and get over it.

Poor Vinnie. Yeah he and Izzie have only known each other for a few weeks, but it still REALLY sucks that she dumped him for a guy she has had, what, one conversation with. I thought they were actually cute and normal, and they seemed to really like being together and talking, not just sucking on each others faces, like SOME people. He has just the saddest eyes.

It was so touching and heartwarming to hear Carly talking about how Evan made her feel and how there's so much beauty in the fact that she never expected to be falling for him. It's not often on this show that we get to hear a woman saying she's attracted to a man as a human being and that he has a beautiful soul. I could hear the sincerity in Carly's voice. I actually felt tears welling up in my own eyes as I listened to her express her feelings for Evan...Aaand then she said LADY BONER.?

Way to fuck up my moment, Carly.

lol. I kind of loved Caila with the (I think sincere), "We're trying to make you comfortable!" Oooh! Check and mate! (Well, almost). Jared's an idiot if he can't see what Ashley's up to. However, his little smile when Caila told him Ashley was still in love with him said it all. I've had that smile, too. It's pure ego! He absolutely knows how she feels and he likes it! Even though he doesn't plan to take it further, I think he  enjoys having her on the leash!  Hadn't seen that before.  Now I get their dynamic! It's really stupid!

But Ashley trying to mess with him and Caila was ridiculous.  I thought her getting a little smackdown (unintentionally it seemed) was well deserved. I hope there's more of that (but Jared's still never going to discourage her. It would take some patient woman to put up with that!)

The twins are so dumb that they don't realize HOW d umb they are.  No adult should ever admit thinking Lincoln is the first president of the United States.  (I bet she still doesn't know the right answer). That said, I do enjoy Daniel and the two of them. It -would- probably be a pretty funny sitcom.

Is Jared really that dumb , or was it producer driven that he brought those 'concerns' to Caila, or was he deviously trying to get Caila to be more interested in him, through jealousy?

I, and many other women, have been in Caila's position, where some girl is trying to gaslight the fuck out of the situation and steal the guy for herself.  It brought back horrible memories.  It's one thing if it happens, it's a million times worse when the guy falls for it.

No Daniel this episode so I call it a loss

I started out being a fan of Caila, now I think I'm just in jealous territory.  I wonder if guys like Jared like that's she's such a pleaser (absolutely unwilling to tell Brett "No", and just smiling "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah." at him over and over again).  I'll never be one of those people that smiles all of the time, so I think I've figured out why I'm single.

Two more things.

We make light of the relationship Vinny and Izzy had because it's a show but the reality of the situation is that they were essentially living together as a couple since day one. So honestly, I do believe he could have fallen in love with her and felt that they were exclusive and that she felt the same. They were together day and night, eating together, sleeping together, talking and hanging out 24/7 for a full month.

Caila saying, "yeah" over and over again is so irritating. It's like she has nothing going on in her brain. Just yeah and Mhmm. Over and fucking over again. I should go back and count.

Ashley is ridiculously emotionally stunted. Wonder what happened in her childhood. However, she sucks at "crying". Girl, if you were legit crying, your eyes would be pretty much swollen shut from the constant sobbing and your nose would be a red sore runny mess. Doesn't that get exhausting? To have fake crying be your schtick? What a joke.

Ashley made shit up about Caila and told Jared.  Jared believes that Ashley is his "friend"  and is telling him the truth.  He needed to ask her WHO was saying the things she "heard", and then confront those people.  He'd find out she's lying.

Ashley puts herself in the middle of their relationship, hoping Caila will call it quits.  Then Ashley can say "see Jared?  I told you not to trust her, I'm the only one you can trust."  AShley was basically, in Survivor terms "voted off the island."  then she was allowed to come back, promising to stop running after Jared and to have an open mind about meeting someone else.  She lied - so she should be sent home.

Best line of the night for me was Tanner saying that "Carly is trying to like Evan". I think she was working very hard in her talking heads trying to convince herself. When you like someone as a person but aren't attracted to them, that's a friendship, not a relationship. I hate to see people lower their standards and settle.

my thoughts exactly... it was all sentimental and real and such and then she says her lady boner is back. That was one of those "okay can we just pretend that last part didn't happen? kind of things. Stay Klassy Carly.

The thing is that Jared KNEW she was making up shit and yet he believed her and then covered it up when talking to Cialis... "Oh no, she didn't say anything 'bad'." Yeah only that you are a robot whore bitch... and that lying pausing and looking down and hemming and hawing about what she said to him soooo pegged he was lying.

I would have started my convo with Ashley after that with "Listen bitch, why are you here?!? You were voted out! Hello!! Where's this supposed open mind? Go the fuck home and stop trying to play spoiler on my relationship with a man you can never have. Grow up."

Looks like the pizza hits the fan for The Moaner next week... that should be entertaining/potentially dangerous. Cool.

I wish Izzy left and not Vinny.

Ashley is psycho. If I was Caila I'd be wary of Jared considering he is still stringing Ashley along and listening to her attacks and trying to sabotage his new relationship.

Liked seeing Jade and Tanner, loved that Tanner could see how fake Josh was after just a 3 minute conversation.

Yeah...Josh's fakeness was just OOZING from the screen during that little "interview" for the date card. It was the first thing I thought as I was listening to him speak. Amanda seems sweet too, so it's a real shame. I hope she clues in to it before this runs its course.

ETA - The twins CAN NOT be as dumb as they are portraying. I am pretty sure we learned the world's continents in like third grade....and maybe learned the first president of the USA even earlier than that. How one could go through their entire life into their 20's and not know what "Europe" is, well that is a very sad reflection on the US education system. I am just baffled at how that is even possible. Is this really representative of the current "information at you fingertips" generation? Or did TPTB just go out of their way to find the dumbest, most insulated people in the world?

I agree with everything you say except.... the whole show is filmed in 18 days.  It was probably more like 12 days.

This.  Month or twelve days, it's still concentrated time unlike anything we usually get while dating.  Say you're having normal once or twice a week dates with someone, going to movies, concerts, clubs too loud to talk in,  you might really only talk for an hour or two per  date. A normal day in Paradise is about 16 hours of one on one conversation.   Multiply  16 by 12 (Haley, help me with this) it's 192 hours.  If Vinny felt he was in love with Izzy after that I can totally believe it.

I will go further and say if you aren't heartily sick of the other person by then , that's a darn good relationship.  I was feeling Lace's pain with Grant's smothering and Jade acting all shocked at her for not saying, "I love you, too," back.  When she snapped at Grant, "You already said that! You repeat yourself a lot!   Do you know that?"  I thought, umhumm, she's starting to criticize little things he does.  She's lost that lovin' feeling.

This is turning into a psychology experiment about what happens to people who are crowded into a small area and kept isolated.  What new couple like Jared and Caila has to start their relationship with the ex lurking 10 feet away?  Not that Jared isn't totally letting Caila down by giving credence to anything  Ashley says.  Remember that lovey, gushing letter she wrote to Jared last year?  I was so embarrassed for her and thought Jared would be, too, but he loved  it. Just stop it, Jared!  You can't have Caila and your devoted ego stroker, too.

just have to agree with everything said--Ashley I will get her way, Jared will NEVER have a relationship (at least on tv lol) until he cuts whatever cord he has with Ahshley I. If I was Caila, i would be done. side note: many years ago i got out of a relationship with a truly wonderful man because his mom and sister were so all over him about the fact that I was too young, blah blah--I broke up with him because he couldnt stand up for himself and years later I still have some regret. I hope Jared can see that this is just not fair to any woman, ashley thinks if she is obnoxious enough, any woman who likes Jared will leave. Shame on both of them, really. I hope Cailla bolts.

I was saying the same thing out loud to the tv last night!  Evan isn't that good of a person, not that I've seen. Desperate? Yup. Now Vinny is an example of a guy you give a second chance to if the initial reaction isn't there. Mature, reasonable, stands up for himself.  Evan is just, yuck.  Slimy.

Just because Carly flipped so hard for Kurt/Curt? last year and got dumped, she doesn't have to swing in the complete opposite direction and force herself to keep giving this guy a chance. Plus, she's keeping him on our tv way longer than we can stand it.  She's a cute girl. No need to downgrade.

I think Caila's hesitant approach to Jared is appropriate, given how long their relationship has existed...for what, 72 hours or less?  No need for Jared to freak out.

I just came to a different opinion after I re-watched that YouTube thing someone here linked to where Evan is being interviewed about his clinic.  He was poised, professional and beardless.  He has a real job!  I think he's probably well off and has a staff of young women who look up to him.  He may actually be the best catch in Paradise. I think if Carly passes him up because he doesn't have swag, she's more shallow than Izzy. Josh has swag and look at what a disgusting douche he is.   Carly is definitely cooler than Evan, but I think he's actually a little better looking than she is and he doesn't talk about his boner to the camera.

She should be gone.  She did not uphold what she said she was going to do.  Since the night she asked to be given the freebie chance to stay, three new guys have come in, and she is still pining over Jared and plotting to sabotage Caila.

I totally agree that Jared is contributing to this.  Here is something I know about guys who are truly UNINTERESTED in you:  When you go over to their outdoor futon bed and lie down next to them, they get up and walk away.  When you sit next to them and tell them bad stuff about the girl they are seeing and call her names, the truly uninterested guy will want nothing to do with you.  Jared - what are you doing?

I really hope this is the last time we will see Jared and Ashley.  She knows how to manipulate him and he loves the attention.  It also bothers me that whenever Caila is trying to talk with him about Ashley he denies any 'evil' intent from Ashley even though it is all on camera; he is protecting his ego when he protects Ashley.  I also don't like that when Caila is trying to talk to him he always says 'I want to kiss you' and then grabs her head and kisses him.  It is almost like he has a fixation on her that doesn't carry through to anything except kissing her (maybe more) as he never defends her when Ashley is criticizing her.  I was so super glad that Tanner and Jade saw through Ashley's manipulations and gave the dating card to Jared and Caila even though I don't think Jared deserves Caila and, quick frankly, should not be in a relationship with ANY woman until he really cuts Ashley out of his life.  Telling Ashley "no" and then telling her how glad he is that she didn't leave is NOT cutting her out of his life-it's not even breaking up with her.

Lace is also bothersome to me.  I can better understand some of Chad's confusion after watching her interactions and then blame with Grant.  She kind of quickly turned on him about the whole 'investment' issue, after which he seemed a bit confused-just like Chad after she changed her mind about their interactions.  I do not advocate hitting or any form of abuse, but Lace had been hitting Chad and then did a quick switch.  Hopefully Grant just moves on as I think there is a bit crazy in Lace.

I think that Josh really does believe he is charming (which he has stated in earlier episodes) as he really seemed surprised that he didn't charm Tanner and Jade into giving the date to them.  It doesn't seem like Josh can read a room when people are not naturally inclined to like him.  He may have been riding a wave of popularity from his appearance on The Bachelorette, but the rest of the cast has been around the Bachelor block so he may not seem as special to them as he does to fans of the show.

This whole Jared and Ashley I thing is pissing me off.  I really liked Jared before all this happened but now I'm beginning to think that Caila is too good for him and she should RUN quick!  Ashley basically bad mouths Caila to Jared and what does Jared do?  Run to Caila and say well I heard this, I heard that.  Gah if he really wanted to build a relationship with her he wouldn't be wasting his time with this he said-she said jr. high bullshit.  I can't decided who is a bigger idiot, he or Ashley hence they deserve each other.

I liked Caila before, but last night she came across as just kind of dull and bitchy. On the weeks the women get to hand out the rose, some of them get this "but I'm not sure about you" thing so they have an excuse to go out with one of the new men. I don't like Jared and think Ashley is insane, but Caiia and her indecision is annoying too. She doesn't seem to really like Jared and I'm half way convinced she is only seeing him to piss off Ashley. Either that or she is just the dullest person on earth.

Speaking of dull, I wonder why Carly has shown no interest in trying to get to know any of the newer men. She claims she is unsure how she feels about Evan, yet she does nothing to meet the new guys. Is is because TPTB are telling her not to so more drama can be milked?

As far as the surprise dates (like Grant's massage), I imagine they can propose things like that to the producers, and if if makes for good TV they might go along with it. I know I am the only one here that feels this way but I actually liked Bachelor Pad better. They had games and activities and Power couples and this show has lots of drinking on beaches.. I do like this, but sometimes it goes by so damn slow. I really wish they at least had a rose ceremony each week.

So it seems like Jared and Ashley went on vacation together-how is this trying to break it off with her? I don't know Jared's deal, but he seems to love stringing Ashley along. And since she shows zero interest in anyone else, she needs to go. Along with the brain dead twins.

Daniel is...operating on a different frequency than the rest of us, possibly one that only the iguanas in the opening credits can hear. He can be insightful and actually pretty thoughtful one moment, than completely off the wall random the next. And I love how often the show reminds us that he`s Canadian. His being Canadian is probably one of the least notable things about Daniel. I keep expecting O Canada to start blasting every time he walks into a shot.

I don't think they are that stupid.  I think they are simply playing a part for T.V.  Playing into stereotypes if you will...I like em'.  Both are cute and fun.

Speaking of dull, I wonder why Carly has shown no interest in trying to get to know any of the newer men. She claims she is unsure how she feels about Evan, yet she does nothing to meet the new guys. Is is because TPTB are telling her not to so more drama can be milked?

I don't know either.  I was thinking maybe she just doesn't have a choice, everyone else is paired up but I guess she could try one of the new, new guys that came in *shrug*.  Or maybe she is thinking she should just stick with Evan til the end, get the expensive ring and after the season go on Celebrity Boot Camp.  Enh I still them both and I would watch anything they are on...

I, and many other women, have been in Caila's position, where some girl is trying to gaslight the fuck out of the situation and steal the guy for herself.  It brought back horrible memories.  It's one thing if it happens, it's a million times worse when the guy falls for it.

Yeah, I've been there too. I was very young, and the tactics worked. I'm sure it was for the best - those two jerks deserved each other - but the girl claimed to be a friend and the guy I was dating fell for it with no hesitation. I cut them both off at the knees and never spoke to them again, but I wish I'd been secure enough to confront my ex-friend the way Caila confronted Ashley. Sometimes the outcome isn't even as important as it is to stand up for yourself and let the guilty party know that you see them for what they are.

Even with both Nick and Caila dropping truth bombs on Ashley, it seems she's clinging to her delusions and Julianne Potter tactics. Remember how that ended in My Best Friend's Wedding? To quote Rupert Everett: "Who's chasing you? Nobody! Get it?!"

Jared needs to be called out on mealy-mouthing everything and playing both sides of the fence. He's delusional to think he can be friendly with Ashley and take her advice on women. Caila was right to call him out on it. She's going to be pissed when she sees all the names Ashley called her and the fact that Jared greeted those insults with... silence.

Carly might not have the hottest guy in paradise, but she has the best shot at a real relationship outside the show if she can let go of all the Bachelor-specific superficiality these women place on relationships. I'd have given them the date card.

Glad Josh's smarmy facade didn't work on Jade and Tanner. I'm also gleeful that Ashley's gaslighting didn't sway them, either. I think the date was given to Caila and Jared for maximum drama, but whatever.

Bye Vinny. :( You have the nicest blue eyes.
