Wow, Jessa's willing to clean up if it puts a dollar in her pocket. She looks nice. I also think she got lip injections. I googled pics of her as a teenager and her lips were full but not nearly as big as they are here.

What a smart use of money! 🤣

Well hopefully the government knows she has 4 kids now so she can cash in on some Stimulus $$. I really can’t see Jessa moving anytime soon since she has been so vocal about her preference for a small house. She considers herself a minimalist too, IIRC. But in another year when Fern is bigger & mobile, and Jessa is home schooling, maybe she will change her tune. Is Spurge Kindergarten age now? Has either Jessa or Bin said anything about this? Maybe he’ll be the next student at  the SOTDRT…..

Very optimistic of you to think that Jessa will do her own homeschooling.  I think Spurge and then Henry and the rest will be sent over to the TTH every morning and expected to get their education there.  I see no evidence that Jessa cares even a little bit about her kids' education.  From what we've seen; she barely interacts with them, they're practically feral.  I cannot see her wanting to spend her time teaching them anything or caring whether they learn or not.

Wishful thinking on my part. The boys have already shown they can parrot back Bible verses and hymns, so other than that, what do they need schooling for?

Yup. We've seen that's the "education" people like JRod espouse. Only literate enough to read the Bible but not understand what they're reading.

If Ben wasn't so whipped, I'd have a little hope. But he is, so I don't.

Jessa certainly isn't advertising homeschooling. By the time Izzy was 4, Derick insisted he was practically a college scholar due to Jill's amazing homeschooling.

Alyssa Bates' kids are about a year older than Jessa's kids. She has a system set up, computers and tablets in place and the kids seem to be getting at least some sort of education. Likely more independent than I would prefer for such young kids, but at least it seems part of a predictable schedule and not an on the fly School of the Disgusting Birthing Couch or SDRT.

Spurge will turn six on November 5. (Izzy turned six in the spring.)

Based on Arkansas law, Spurgeon should be entering Kindergarden at least:

AR Code 6-18-207 states that "students may enter kindergarten in the public schools of this state if they will attain the age of five (5) years on or before August 1 of the year in which they are seeking initial enrollment.” A child who does not meet this age requirement may be admitted to kindergarten if he or she "has been enrolled in a state-accredited or state-approved kindergarten program in another state or in a kindergarten program equivalent in another country for at least sixty (60) days, who will become five (5) years old during the year in which he or she is enrolled in kindergarten, and who meets the basic residency requirement for school attendance".

AR Code 6-18-207 states that “Any child may enter the first grade in the public schools of this state if the child will attain the age of six (6) years during the school year in which the child is seeking enrollment and the child has successfully completed a kindergarten program in a public school in this state.”

A child who will be 6 on or before October 1 who has not completed a state-accredited kindergarten program "shall be evaluated by the district and may be placed in the 1st grade if the results of the evaluation justify placement in the 1st grade and the child's parent agrees with placement in the 1st grade. Otherwise, the child shall be placed in kindergarten" (AR Code 6-18-201).

So we should be hearing about Kindergarten for Spurge any day now! Maybe if there’s enough posts about it Jessa will anger-share their plans for schooling.

In Ontario, he'd be entering Grade 1 in September. Kids here enter Grade 1 in September of the calendar year they turn 6. (So everyone in the class is 6 as of December 31.) He could also have completed two years of full-day Kindergarten by now.

It's so sad to think of what he has been missing out on.

In the US, the age cutoff is usually in the fall, but it's the same.  Boys mature more slowly than girls, so, as a parent, I wouldn't be pushing for my son whose birthday occurs just after the cutoff to start early.

Poor Spurgeon, he seems like a bright kid and would probably love being in a regular kindergarten class like his cousin, Israel.  Too bad he'll never get the chance.  The only benefit to him with homeschooling is that his dumb name won't get mocked nor will other kids pick on him for his messed up hairdo.

Poor Spurge is so freakin’ bored. Every day is the same! I mentioned once before that kid needs so much mental stimulation! He needs structure, playtime, a regular schedule and interaction with kids that are not related to him… sheesh. And his brother and sisters will follow suit. GAH!

On "19 Kids and Counting", Jessa was the teacher.  I remember this well, because she lacked patience and was very stern.  At nap time, she would yell at the children that dared to fidget or open their eyes.  The kids appeared to be terrified of her.  According to Michelle, she was the only one who could keep them in line.

I believe Jessa became the teacher after Josie was born. When not in school it was Jana and Jill who kept the kids in line.

Jessa hasn’t posted since 8/3. I wonder if the reality of having 4 kids has sunk in, or if she’s laying low due to Volderjosh’s latest mess.

The kid is coming up on one month in of couple of days, maybe she'll post then. But she did this with Ivy too. Posted a few birth pics, didn't post for a while, and then went back to her usual amount of posts.

Two year old Ivy is a good six months older than her trail of a dozen girl cousins. I find it hard to believe that no one else is pregnant. Lauren, Abbie and Joy all should be pregnant by now. It seems maybe Claire is waiting and I wouldn't be surprised if Katie is pregnant.

It's good to see the gaps between kids growing for some of the families.  Maybe they'll get very long for some of them like the rest of their marriages long.

I wouldn't be surprised if Abbie and JD are waiting. They seem to have more sense than the average Duggarbot and, as far as I know, have been more quiet about the baby race in general.

Something's up with Lauren and Josiah as they've been radio silent for months. Maybe that means she's already big pregnant and has had a dramatic change of opinion about being publicly pregnant since Asa (?) and Bella or maybe they've pushed pause for a bit.

Joy, I am surprised about, but since Austin doesn't have a current contractor licence, I'm glad she doesn't seem to be expecting.

The radio silence from Si and Lauren is interesting. If they decided social media isn't their game, then good for them, but there's no mention of them anywhere and you never see them with his siblings (aside from obligatory group shots at weddings).

I hate to say it, but I wonder if he got dragged into the Joshley mess. Not in terms of committing criminal activity, but maybe as a witness. Josh threw Si's name out there as having the computer password, so surely he was interviewed. Maybe Si didn't protect the Golden Boy and got shunned by his parents as a result. Pure speculation, of course, but just throwing a possibility out there.

I was wondering the same thing, @BitterApple. I can absolutely see Josh and JB being ok with throwing Si’s name in to introduce reasonable doubt. The defense wouldn’t have to prove that anyone else had access/could have downloaded the images, just that someone else could have had the opportunity. I don’t think JB - and certainly not Josh - would hesitate to do it, even though doing so would raise questions about Si, at least in the public eye. If that’s the case, I hope Si and Lauren go scorched earth.

Haiti is not the Bahamas.  Dangerous at the best of times and a thousand times worse right now.  On top of the quake Covid is rampant and their president was recently assassinated. These idiots are in way over their heads this time. If nothing else they are all going to contract the virus.

And for what? Exactly what is their “plan” - and I use that term loosely. What do they do in these locations that is actually helpful? From what I have read today, the people of Haiti need clean water, shelter, food, and medicine. Are they going to provide any of those things, or are just going down to pray with Haitians and take a couple of pictures of the devastation and grateful natives before flying on to a location with running water, indoor toilets and air conditioning, where they can eat their Chik-Fil-A in comfort? Buying a few cases of water at Sam’s Club to drop off doesn’t count as helping in any meaningful way, but you know they will be rushing to pat each other on the back for their heroic efforts. For God’s sake, the people of Haiti have suffered enough already.

There’s also a picture of them in a circle praying. Lawson kept his EarPods in.

OK so in my diseased, hyperactive mind's eye, they have this Dr. Evil-like control center from which they "monitor" worldwide situations. Lawson is obviously the one who is plugged into the motherboard to update this crack response team.

They won't be able to stay in Haiti, how will they get their comfy rooms, a/c and toilets? Haiti is no pleasure cruise. My friend who is a doctor was there last earthquake, they performed surgeries on doors they took off of buildings or found laying around. The Haitian people don't need these wannabe bozos with their Chik-fil-A and "right" way to worship. Maybe some Haitians will throw a bit of voodoo their way.

The most generous reasoning for the AirPods I can think of is perhaps translation. It was helpful when I was in a country where I didn’t speak the language to use Google translate to “talk” to people in urgent situations where my dad wasn’t able to translate.

But that assumes there is service which is probably not the case. And that he’s not a dbag which is also not the case. 😂
