Popular Post Rachel RSL March 22, 2018 Popular Post Share March 22, 2018 Seriously, who the hell is this Jenna person?? Michael is quickly becoming my favourite. He handled the aftermath of the last TC perfectly. No bull, no attitude, just owned up to his lie about the idol with a good-natured "Hey man, I had to give it a shot. I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings." Doesn't seem like he alienated anyone. He seems much wiser than I was at that age. (Or possibly at my current age.) Popular Post mojoween March 22, 2018 Popular Post Share March 22, 2018 No Chris, it surely did not seem like you were talking with Donathan. It seemed more like you wanted to tell YOUR story. I swear he is the King of the One-Uppers. Don’t care if he threw the rock in college. He could not be more annoying. And he shines that light all the fuck over, not just in his obnoxious interviews. I don’t want Chris’s tribe to lose but I want him to go home. It’s quite the conundrum. Laurel *hearteyes* I still love you boo. Kellyn, your tribe mate was trying to be nice and you shrugging her off is gross. Also, “the collective?” What are you, the Borg? Aww man I was hoping it was going to be Jenna. I wish the show would go the way of Ulong and every single one of those people are voted out without ever merging so the order of their booting is completely irrelevant. 38 Link to comment

Ms Blue Jay March 22, 2018 Share March 22, 2018 (edited) Aw. I thought Steph and Jenna were going to be a winning team. They seemed like such players early on. But I will shallowly admit I really didn't want Michael to go. It's a shame, the four people on (I can't remember tribe names, sorry) including Brendan, I really liked, possibly because they were actually shown to me so I kind of got to know them. Meh. Damn shame. Oh well. We move on and we see how the next part of the show takes shape. Michael's gorgeous, nice to see him stay. The surfing challenge and Probst's reactions to it made me laugh and cheer. Really enjoyed that. Chris DID do a freestyle rap, right? Jeff having orgasms over him in the RC was hilarious. And then Chris saying something like "Yes, I've tossed a rock" and Jeff responding "........... meaning what?" Even as a baseball fan I was like buddy wtf are you talking about. Desiree has a nice body and all, but man, I was scandalized by her going through Steph's stuff. That fivesome. Ugh. All doing that chinless man's bidding. Popular Post truthaboutluv March 22, 2018 Popular Post Share March 22, 2018 (edited) My goodness - between Kellyn and Bradley, I really don't know which one is more annoying. I am so ready for those two to get the boot. But it'll be just my luck and they'll probably both make it all the way to the end or near the end. Great, more opportunities for Bradley to be a smug tool and Kellyn to boo-hoo and whinge and cry about some bullshit. I don't know why, but as soon as I saw Stephanie's spiel on Ghost Island, I had a feeling she was getting the boot tonight. Which is odd, because everyone who has gone to Ghost Island had some "moment". However, watching hers, I just had a feeling she was dunzo. Also, while I don't want to question her sincerity, anyone else feel like during that whole bit she sounded like she was reading a script off cue cards or something? It just came across very stiff and staged - like a story she practiced for ITM's in preparation of her big reality show moment. Meanwhile, I want to believe Chelsea, Sebastian and Desiree aren't useless and just all complete "follow the numbers" players and so far editing isn't showing their game play but it's getting harder to buy that. They all just seemed to just accept and change their mind on whoever someone else said. But more importantly, this is the second week that the editing spent more time on Naviti, prior to the Immunity Challenge, even though Naviti ended up not going to Tribal Council. It's obvious there's really nothing going on at Malolo beyond the five sticking to each other I guess. And once again, the previews gave away which tribe lost. I totally see why preview talk is not allowed in the episode threads. Because yeah, as soon as they were heading to the immunity challenge and they hadn't shown the scenes of Sebastian and Jenna that were previewed last week, and really much of anything with Malolo, I knew they were going to lose. Listening to Stephanie and Michael both talk about how long they've been a fan of the show and wanted to play and seeing how neither were necessarily bad players but here they both were, on the chopping block, in danger of being eliminated, it just reminded me again why, I've never been of the mindset that just because someone didn't win Survivor or it took more than one time, it means they weren't a good player. Because it really is true that a lot of this game is luck. Yes, you can strategize and plan and build relationships all you want, but you cannot control tribal switch ups, you cannot control sudden twists, others finding idols, etc. There's so much that goes into pulling off a really good game. Because Michael and Stephanie really haven't played bad games, they just got screwed by a tribal switch up that put them down in the numbers. eta: Bless Chris, who attempted to bond with Donathan and build a relationship that included him essentially just talking the entire time and all about himself. The funniest moment was when Donathan's voiceover was playing as they were going to commercial and the camera zooms in to show Donathan's wavering expression and there's Chris's face in the shadow, with his mouth running a mile a minute. I know Donathan said he appreciated Chris' story and I believe him but watching the exchange just continued to show the problem with Chris and his lack of self awareness about it. Dude never talks to people or has a back and forth conversation. He just talks at them. Edited March 22, 2018 by truthaboutluv 31 Link to comment

I'd like to see them more organically incorporated into the show. At this point, I cringe about Ghost Island because I know somebody is going to go there and sob out their guts over their personal lives, in varying degrees of sadness. I love Ghost Island to relive the history, but they've used it as shorthand for character development, which is really shorthand for "these people will cry and you will like them, darn you!!!" and it's just awkward. I know Adam gets a crap ton of grief about his personal story, but that wasn't brought up until episode 4, and I personally found it more palatable because it was the one sad story of the season (and it really was a freaking sad story, not "I miss my grandma" or "I got divorced" or "My kids are my world.") Now every time we go to Ghost Island, it's like "Outwit. Outplay. Outsob." 39 Link to comment

They need immunity tonight. (sigh) Chris killed that reward challenge. The bragging TH was a bit much...... Sugar and caffeine. Two of the seven major food groups! Donathon crying about leaving granny behind. This has annoyed me for years. You people know what you are signing up for! Chris moves in. Smart not to depend on the old Navitis. He seems to realize he's a target of Dom. I believe in you Steph. Your escape story has shot you to the top of my fave list. (but enough with the kids.....) Why send Chelsea again? Not that it mattered. Invisible Jenna appears and shows why she shouldn't be seen again. She and Sea Bass are disgusting. Deal with your own hair dude. This Naviti 5 is getting on my last nerve here. Quite the tearful edit with Michael. Nasty bag searching, Desiree. And you got nothing. "So that proves she's hiding something somewhere." In those baggy shorts she's wearing. This insane thinking is driving me insane. After all that round and round bla bla bla, Desiree informs us it was all in the can and none of this mattered. (Heavy violins for all of Steph's votes). Well, she can go see her kids and not be trapped at Ponderosa and we never need to hear from her again. I wish her well. You people know what you are signing up for! Normally (99.9999% of the time), I would fully agree with you. I was so aggravated the year that the guy won it by throwing in the fact that his wife was pregnant at final tribal. Same for those who leave parents or loved ones behind who are on death's door. You chose to go on the show, no one forced you. You don't deserve a million dollars for your tales of woe. Also, I hated the whole Ben story and how the producers tried to shove that down our throats. First time that I have ever turned off Survivor before the winner was announced. However, Donathon's story makes me somewhat sad. He's the grandchild who has become the de facto caretaker of his grandmother (and I believe he said his mom was disabled). I believe the grandmother has had a series of strokes? He said that no one else would take on the responsibility. He's youngish, but he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders and to me that's wrong. It gives me that same sense of "this isn't right" when a couple chooses to have a bunch of kids, and they have the older kids taking care of the younger kids. It doesn't work that way - the parents chose to have all those kids, they shouldn't burden the older kids with taking care of the younger. Does that remotely make sense?! I just see Donathon as being somewhat trapped, although it's clear he loves his family. Chris, in the other hand, does not come across as sympathetic. North of Eden March 22, 2018 Share March 22, 2018 (edited) In the hands of a more skilled editing team tonight's boot wouldn't have been telegraphed. I mean c'mon...when we got Stepanie's full bio including the fact she quit the Mormon faith when she was at Ghost Island could there have been any doubt she was leaving? Many times we suddenly get the complete dossier on a castaway because their time is up. Anyway I amused myself when I kept making a lot of movie connections with what I was seeing on screen. Here are a few. *Bradley is right out of Central Casting for the stuffy, A-hole current boyfriend/fiance who must inevitably be jilted in every Romantic Comedy ever made. *The Castaways being pulled through the water was reminiscent of the scene in Jaws 2 where the boyfriend is propelled through the water by the shark before being yanked under taking a piece of the sailboat amidst a bubble of blood. (Is that a spoiler for a 40-year-old movie LOL) *Loved, absolutely loved the Rube Goldberg crank they were using to pull them. Looked like something Doc Brown would have constructed in Back to the Future III. *Suddenly it hit me that Jenna could be the female fraternal twin to movie star Will Poulter. *And I don't' know what movie or tv show I got this from but the dullard that is "SeaBass" was speaking at TC I was reminded of one of the best lines ever. "Six million sperm and you're the one that got through!" Truth! He seems like such a vacant wastrel...do not like him. *Has all that HYDRA imagery with the octopus been on all season? This is the first time I noticed that it was EVERYWHERE...Probst being HYDRA could well explain some of his evil actions like throwing the three Malolo under the bus right after they lost the IC by basically calling out/taunting that they were dead men walking. To close out I began bagging on the editors but they did have one moment where Jeff says something like "So and so are both flagging/exhausted/winded and immediately cuts to the woman still on the beach and the man already out on the platform. Lantern7 March 22, 2018 Share March 22, 2018 (edited) *yaaaaaaaaaawnn* Still. Not. Caring. At all. I mean, Donathan has a nice story (in the sense that I feel for the guy), and Stephanie sounds like she's had a rough go of it (divorcing her husband AND her religion). So, of course, she gets voted off. I think Probst had $500 checks into each buff so that Michael (the young guy/great Reunion story) stays in the game. Oh, and Stephanie didn't play a game for a Cursed Idol. Do the players have to break the urns in order? That's been bugging me. 1 hour ago, cooksdelight said: I was channel flipping and caught the first challenge thing....Probst has such a raging hardon for Chris, it’s embarassing. Jeff.... you have a WIFE...who’s watching this. I'm not even noticing whom Probst has wood for, but I know he has wood. And I'm guessing Mrs. Probst is okay with that, bless her heart. ETA: Desiree can handle sticking her head underwater while being pull to shore. Good for her, I guess? Edited March 22, 2018 by Lantern7 6 Link to comment
Wandering Snark March 22, 2018 Share March 22, 2018 (edited) I loved the manly growl of "I WANT those PASTRIES!!!" It just seemed so funny to me... And yeah, I guess that's about my only takeaway from this eppy. Pretty sad. This casting is just doing nothing for me, I see them sitting at tribal and say to myself "I don't care which of you is going today because firstly I dont know who half of you are and the ones I do are no loss..." Kind of a bummer really. Oh and I hate that someone would just brazenly rifle through someone's bag without a pause. I've never liked that. Edited March 22, 2018 by Wandering Snark 12 Link to comment
Popular Post LanceM March 22, 2018 Popular Post Share March 22, 2018 To answer the question above yes it has been confirmed that they have to break the urns in order at Ghost Island. I saw this over on Reddit but apparently there was once curse Stephanie could not break this season, namely being named Stephanie and getting voted out 5th. 5th person voted out of Survivor Thailand: Stephanie. 5th person voted out of Survivor Cook Islands: Stephannie. 5th person voted out of Survivor Redemption Island: Stephanie. (technically 6th person voted out, but 5th to be eliminated) 5th person voted out of Survivor Ghost Island: Stephanie. Weird. 30 Link to comment
awaken March 22, 2018 Share March 22, 2018 I’m having trouble keeping relationships and loyalties straight with the early tribe swap. At least this week I feel like I finally learned most of the players’ names. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Chelsea before! not liking everyone in underwear. I hope they get some athletic clothes or decent bathing suits soon! Really disliked Desiree going through Stephanie‘s bag. Clearly nothing is off limits. Sebastian is fascinatingly weird. I can’t figure out why he looks and talks like that! 3 Link to comment
ByaNose March 22, 2018 Share March 22, 2018 Too many sob stories & no game at Ghost Island makes for a boring episode. And, when you add a Pagonging it makes for an uneventful episode at that. Hopefully, next week we can rebound. 8 Link to comment
