I am a special ed teacher and work with giving assessment tests and in one of those tests is an IQ test.  70 is the borderline for Developmentally Delayed.  Danielle does not strike me as under 70 for an IQ but she does strike me as someone in her 80's in terms of IQ.   Lower end, for sure but she can still drive (as evidenced in the show, driving all over the damn southeast in search of Mo) and live her life although it may be a bit limited.  She very much strikes me as someone who is has arrested development around age 13 or 14 in terms of romantic love or what she perceives it to be.  She is alarmingly needy and overemotional about things in that arena.

I agree. There is something seriously wrong with Danielle -- definitely some chips missing somewhere. It's what keeps me from being full-on amused by how pathetic she is. The arrested development idea is intriguing -- she is filled with so much angst and drama. It is like a young teen. How in the world she thought this guy was in love with her on any level in the first place confounds me. Really? How in the world is a dumpy 40-something unemployed woman from the middle of nowhere Ohio going to have ANYTHING in common with a twenty-something guy from Tunisia? Delusional. She got played. She put him in front of everything and got played. Now she wants to use her kids as an excuse for revenge. She didn't give them a thought when she gave up what little she had to get him over here.

I liked Jorge's friend Ramone. He seemed very kind, reasonable and sincere. I loved how kept a real smile on his face and guided Jorge to think of the message behind  the gift rather than the price. He encouraged Jorge by saying "I think Anfisa is holding out hope for you, too." Nice, nice guy.

Does anyone else find it weird how Mo is so set on staying in America? It's like he's so afraid to go back. Did he do something in his country that he is running from? He never talks about missing any family or friends in his country. His life seems like it's very lonely.

 

why is George shopping for gifts? Why does she still not have a ring? They both don't even wear rings. I'm not saying it from a materlistic way but when I look at my engagement ring/wedding band it reminds me of one of the best days of my Life Marrying my husband in Hawaii,If my husband brought me home a bracelet and I still didnt have a ring I'd be pretty pissed.

Danielle is the worst; I get secondhand embarrassed when I see her do amazingly dumb and transparently desperate things.  Using her kids and calling Mohammed before the trial was pretty gross, but she can't quit him.  Someone asked what they have in common...nothing...but, girlfriend saw her a sexy "Arabian prince" (let's borrow from Nicole and Azan) and any common sense be damned.

Man, FamiyPedro y FamilyChantel are the worst!  When Family Chantel felt Pedro is nervous or scared around them, my husband said "these are people who never been punch after talking too much".  I'm inclined to agree; Pedro gonna punch that creepy River.  Pedro's sister is a nasty bitch and clearly her mother never taught her anything about being respectful.  I think Chantel is as clever as dishwater, but she learned some Spanish to genuinely apologize, and those two uppity bitches couldn't even acknowledge it before going in on her.   But, Chantel is never going to get them on her side related to him giving them too much, as somehow both clearly believe they are deserving of that money and support.  I did **cackle** when Chantel walked away and said "good night"; it came off as "good day, sir, I said good day", so I fell out.  That said, FamilyPedro showed their asses laughing at her and calling her a princess going overboard.  Seriously.  Let Chantel divorce Pedro and send him back to DR; where is that rent money gonna come from?!

Pao and Russ don't mesh.   Period.  They have different values and come from very different places, and neither seem really willing to open their minds up.  Also.  Pao is an entitled bitch.  She's really low rent, right?  And she's probably going to get stolen by someone posing as a "client".

I've been saying for weeks IG is Pao's agent and it turns out to be true if she is getting work via social media. All that Miami "agent" did for her was low level pimp her out. Walmart Tom ain't that astute if he is calling Danielle manipulative. Manipulative requires a level of mental acuity and cunning that Danielle simply does not possess. 

So Danielle realizes that going to court truly means her marriage is over. Not the refusing to have sex with her until 90 days after the wedding, NOT him running out to galavant with other women days after being married or telling the world she stinks and peed on him during sex. It is the court appearance! It really does take a building to fall on some people before they get it!

Danielle? It isn't Mo who failed and disappointed your kids, its you. Talking funds to run after a man while your children do without, getting evicted from their home(s), having cell phones and lights cut off because you running after foreign dack! 

Jorge doesn't miss Anfisa - he misses 'it'.  Buying her shit after every fight just reinforces and rewards her behavior. Stop feeding the lil monster.

Her DR neice will have the 500.00 jewelry store necklace,  her daughter will have the 40.00 one from Kohls.  His DR nephew will have a new car, her son will have the five year old hand me down. 

Nothing's wrong with a 100.00 bike, a Kohls necklace, or a five year old car, but Chantel may find it hard to accept that his culture puts his birth family before his marriage family.

Yes, exactly!! As I recall, the kids couldn't have cared less when Mohammed first arrived. While I'm sure they want their Mom to be happy, they knew (as we all did), that Mohammed was using her. And this is why I have absolutely NO sympathy for her.    I thought the same thing when she made the comment that going to court the next day meant it was over. It's been over from the beginning! And you are perfectly correct. She didn't have money to buy her kids food and shoes but she had money to pay to get his ass over here. Also, as someone else pointed out, she managed to navigate the government's paperwork to get him here. I have 2 degrees and every time I get a letter from a government agency it takes me an hour to figure out what the agency is attempting to communicate.  And one of my degrees is  in English !!!   But she managed to do it for her boy toy.

Terrible excuse. #1- Food banks/pantries are everywhere. #2- Emergency food stamps are available for those in need. #3- Schools have free lunch programs + programs to feed kids during the summer months. If Danielle can navigate the visa process, she can certainly figure out how to fill out paperwork for food stamps or look up food pantries in the area. 

My bet is that the credit card was used to pay internet, cell phone, new tv's, etc.

Pao is going to be in a less than reputable music video...okay, fine she is an adult, whatever but more importantly she never said how much she would be getting paid and does she even know what the pay scale should be and are they paying her travel and hotel expenses?  That is why models and actors have agents (legit agents not that shady fake party girl she has), they make contracts and vet clients.  Pao is an idiot and this will end badly and my guess off camera because the shady regaeton (what ever the eff that is) band manager might not be an upstanding citizen.  She is asking to be taken advantage of.

When Anfisa was poolside with her friend and she asked if Jorge was any good she sort of shrugged and said he was her first man, hmmm.  Two things came to mind one, yeah right and two, she had to specify "man."  I don't care if she stepped in to the lady pool but the innocent act is hard to buy.

Danielle and Mohammad. Speechless at this point.  I am fast forwarding thru all of their scenes from here on out until I see him getting on a plane and she is checking in to some mental health facility.  She said she is doing it for her kids, hah!

Chantal and Pedro deserve each other and I want to see a fight at the wedding ala Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Someone please make them stop calling each other "Baby." I am grossed out by it now.  She is an odd duck, her fake sleeping in bed with a camera on her was too funny.  The fight in the lobby between her and the Family Pedro was amusing, she was mad because they were disrespecting her and she lashes out while walking away with a Tourette's like tirade (sorry Loren).

Yes, and because Pao is supposedly under contract with the shady agent, isn't she, by virtue of her contract, obligated to give her agent 10% of what she makes? What she should have done is to tell the band that reached out to her to contact her agent. It's up to the agent to vet the client. That's what they get paid for. The whole thing makes no sense.

I can't even hate on Anfisa, she is a one client hooker, she has made it implicitly clear that she is only in the relationship for money. Intentional or not Anfisa is Jorge's Dom and she is going to dish it out as long as he continues to take it.

I'm baffled by Russ, I think he is a really attractive guy, I would sleep with him in a heartbeat if I was single, he also seems like a genuinely loving and kind person. Besides the unemployed thing I think he is a catch, he's isn't even socially awkward. I don't get why he is with Pao, I would think he would have no problem getting an American girl who treats him like he deserves to be treated and not some delusional wannabe "model" who one even become like a hostess or something to contribute to the household.  

Pedro and Chantel's relationship is doomed, I don't know what to say. They just aren't compatible on a really fundamental level. I think they love each other and if they can get over this they will probably friends for a long time but they aren't going to be married in 5 years and they should stop putting so much energy into this thing that is clearly not working and isn't going to work.

I'm reminded about my other favorite show about clearly doomed marriages, Say Yes to The Dress where half the women want sexy wedding dresses. Come on, it's a wedding, everything doesn't have to be sexy, buy some nice lingerie for the honeymoon, you don't need to look like your wedding dress came from Fredericks of Hollywood.
