NY Times had an article yesterday about Mask Clubs. where you pay $9.95 a month for trendy/designer new masks to be sent often. Since designers are now making masks. the basic point of the article was this will be the new must have fashion statement.

I was sure Jeremy would jump on  a trend like that

I took a selfie once after getting off work at my essential job with the caption 'feeling cute' to be funny. I can't imagine being so thirsty to make it a regular thing to get attention.

Yeah I took one with my first mask that I wear into work--it was a cute pattern but a terrible design--and that's been it for me. I didn't side eye the first Jeremy mask picture, but for him to keep doing it and with the same mask just to apparently have something to post seems so desperate and unhinged.

This picture confuses me.  So instead of spreading all the pieces out on the table, she keeps them in a box and has to shuffle through the the pieces in that small box to find a piece that fits?  Or wait...is the picture...gasp...staged?

She had an Instagram live the other night when she was finishing one puzzle and then instantly started another. She was sorting pieces by color into smaller boxes. She seemed really into her puzzles and had her system going on.

I think you're right, but it also underscores how much she's missing the point since she has lost gigs because of the belief that she, her husband, and her family are hostile to the LGBTQ community, not because of accusations of racism or just because they are conservative Republicans. Maybe she would have better off showing off that she was reading Elton John's Me.

Oh I know you didn't and I didn't interpret your meaning that way (I actually revised my comment accordingly). It's just I can totally see them thinking this proves people wrong about them, but it misses the point of the criticism that has caused them to lose gigs. And I don't think they are bright enough to realize that listening to Michelle Obama's bio doesn't negate that flaming dumpster fire of a petition that Jeremy signed and to my knowledge has never disavowed.

He signed MacArthur's petition, which was about lot more than just gay rights. MacArthur, in general, is anti-women, not just lesbians, bisexuals, etc. The basic point of the petition was that any group that feels marginalized for any reason should shut up and not mess up the good thing straight, cisgendered white men have going for them.

But you should be aware that the society in which you're trying to be highly paid and looked-up-to "influencers" has largely moved on from these beliefs. And most of the people you're currently looking to influence consider what's said here not just factually wrong but unjust....and an inducement to further injustices. 

Now, this document is a little more, um, careful (read: duplicitous) about disguising its strong tolerance for racism and its condemnation of those who believe racism is a very serious problem worthy of the fullest attention of Christians than it is about its pronouncements regarding sex and sexuality.

Despite hedging more in the race section, however, the document nevertheless writes off the importance of racism as a top moral and thus religious issue of our time with the same finality with which it writes off the existence and importance of sexism. (i.e., Michelle Obama, Martin Luther King, Jr., lots of other people: NOT on board with this document.)

Now, if you believe this stuff, Jer and Jingle, that's entirely your business.

BUT you can't both believe this AND be highly respected -- and paid for your personal images and personal endorsements -- by the now very large number of people who see it as not just wrong but unfair and dangerous. You can't be the face of businesses who want to attract customers who consider these beliefs you embrace to be wrong and dangerous to themselves, to others, and to society.

You have to choose your allegiance. YOU CAN"T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS! 

Here's what you very proudly signed and apparently still strongly believe and....get your primary paycheck for urging others to believe, Jer: 

WE AFFIRM that God created mankind male and female and that this divinely determined distinction is good, proper, and to be celebrated. Maleness and femaleness are biologically determined at conception and are not subject to change....

The curse of sin results in sinful, disordered affections that manifest in some people as same-sex attraction....

WE DENY that...one’s sex can be fluid. We reject “gay Christian” as a legitimate biblical category. We further deny that any kind of partnership or union can properly be called marriage other than one man and one woman in lifelong covenant together. We further deny that people should be identified as “sexual minorities”—which serves as a cultural classification rather than one that honors the image-bearing character of human sexuality as created by God....

WE AFFIRM that God created mankind both male and female with INHERENT BIOLOGICAL AND PERSONAL DISTINCTIONS between them and that these created differences are good, proper, and beautiful....These differences are most clearly defined in marriage and the church, but are NOT IRRELEVANT IN OTHER SPHERES OF LIFE. 

In marriage the husband is to lead, love, and safeguard his wife and the wife is to respect and be submissive to her husband in all things lawful.    

In the church, qualified men alone are to lead as pastors/elders/bishops and preach to and teach the whole congregation. We further affirm that the image of God is expressed most fully and beautifully in human society when men and women walk in obedience to their God-ordained roles and serve according to their God-given gifts....

We reject any teaching that encourages racial groups to view themselves as privileged oppressors or entitled victims of oppression. While we are to weep with those who weep, we deny that a person’s feelings of offense or oppression necessarily prove that someone else is guilty of sinful behaviors, oppression, or prejudice.....

We deny that only those in positions of power are capable of racism, or that individuals of any particular ethnic groups are incapable of racism.....

We deny that the contemporary evangelical movement has any deliberate agenda to elevate one ethnic group and subjugate another.

And we emphatically deny that lectures on social issues (or activism aimed at reshaping the wider culture) are as vital to the life and health of the church as the preaching of the gospel and the exposition of Scripture. Historically, such things tend to become distractions that inevitably lead to departures from the gospel.        [Ranter's note: Sort of the way opposition to slavery -- i.e., "activism aimed at reshaping the wider culture" -- led some of those ebil mainstream churches and denominations to depart from the gospel back in the Civil War days, eh? Just asking.]

Yeah I'm aware the petition involved more than that, but their attitude toward the LGBTQ community is frequently cited when companies they try to do work for are contacted by folks who are not happy. It's not that I was saying it was the only issue--I was just pointing to it as one of the most glaring.

Jinger has recommended the Girl Defined and Allie Stuckie book, who are a bunch hateful bitches. Definitely chose that Michelle Obama book on purpose.

As for the photos, they are professionally taken. Jinger posted something a few days ago about their pastor's daughters dropping off some coffee, one of those daughters is a photographer they use often. You can tell by Jermy's greasy long hair they are recent.

Well for one thing, Jeremy and his arm are preventing us from seeing her body so it's possible the arm is trying to cover her. Also Jinger looks blissfully happy and yet she doesn't seem to be engaging with the rest of her family. She's not looking at Felicity or Jeremy. She seems to be looking down. As I said, this photo could just be trying to drive speculation. 

I just noticed a resemblance to Jana with her eyes looking down.

I feel like of all the daughters and DILs that are mothers, Jinger (and maybe Lauren) are most likely going to embody the essence of a Karen, especially as their children become older.

(No offense to those posters who are or who know a Karen, but the name Karen has been used to describe an entitled suburban parent.)

The years aren't short, Jinger. Felicity has been 1 for at least a decade now. Part of it just happens to be the time in history in which we live and part of that is that you post pictures of her all the time. By the time her birthday rolls around in three months it will feel a like a century since she was born.

That's what's killing me about all the Duggars' posts. There is no "new normal" for them. They don't work, their kids don't go to school and Daddy pays all their bills. Covid isn't affecting them one iota.
