Dorinda is going to be on WWHL Wednesday night.

It's so good. She is completely delusional about her drinking and Izick M, is throwing such delicious and subtle shade with his answers to Andy's questions. I love his expressions too. He's so awesome

Is there some joke reason that you're spelling Isaac Mizrahi's name like that? I'm clearly missing something.

I was being lazy and didn't look up how to spell his name. I thought I got the first name right. Sigh.

It's ok. It took me forever to figure out who you were referring to because I was really tired and kept inserting a superfluous "r" every time I read it. I kept wondering who "Izirck M" or "Izrick M" was. After watching these ladies, literally, lose their shit, you've earned a spelling pass.

Thank you. I fat finger typos enough that I make an effort not to let how epically bad of a speller I am show.

I didn't watch WWHL because I can't stand that show but caught relevant clips on YT.

Dorinda was sure volleying back those questions with denial and deflection.

I haven't watched last night's show yet but they did show a clip of Dorinda and Luann hugging and Dorinda slurring something about "21 days together."  Was that a shout out for help? She didn't comment on WWHL after the clip was shown but later, made a nasty remark (I assume about Luann) along the lines that "you don't become a Buddha in 21 days."

I am simultaneously horrified by and hurting for her. She's not going to admit publicly on TV that she has a drinking problem, but she must feel absolutely humiliated when she watches those clips of herself and her drunken behavior.  A few funny, witty silly/sloppy drunken scenes like "Clip, clip, clip" or Luann falling into the bushes are funny and probably embarrassing, but when it happens over and over, and spiraling out of control with the words spewed and physical aspects, it's devastating -- to those who on the receiving end, but more so to the person who is doing it.

Ugh. What a mess. I hope she gets help before it's too late and she's either lost all of her friends/family/boyfriend, gets sick or hurt, or ends up with her own mugshot.

I watched WWHL last night and I came away with one question: Has her nose always slanted to the side like that?  I couldn't unsee it last night and can't remember if it was always that way or did she have yet another drunken injury and somehow slam her nose over to the left?

I think it was always that way. She has a big nose and a bit crooked but somehow it fit her face just fine. What I can't get over is her hair. I used to love, love Dorinda's haircut but this season it looks like an over bleached, fried mess and she's always pushing it off her face with her glasses. Not a good look.

It's like her nose itself is completely straight, but, someone just pushed the entire thing to the left side of her face.  It's really weird.

I agree on her hair.  It used to have that "is it blond? is it that perfect silvery gray?" thing going on and was a gorgeous cut that she could do nothing with or could style a few different ways depending on what she was wearing.  Now it looks horrible, obviously a fake, bleached mess of a color and it's always got a weirdly teased look.

I listened to Dorinda on the Tomorrow Show podcast (link below) and came away with the belief that she needs alcohol rehab. At first, it's an innocuous enough interview about Dorinda's life history.  She's charming and reveals some details about her humble background and early career. As the interview went on, I could hear Dorinda repeatedly sipping a drink. Normally, I would assume it's water, but as time went on she started misanswering (not a word, I know) the questions and slightly slurring. By the end of the interview, she was sloshed, IMO.

Dorinda has a clear issue with booze and I wonder if it will be swept under the rug since so many of the Housewives' storylines involve alcohol abuse. I like Dorinda, as does apparently much of the audience, but, damn, I wish she would quit drinking and present herself as the "salt of the Earth" persona she could be.

http://thetomorrowshow.com/recommendations/dorinda-medley/

Thanks so much for this.  Wow!!  It explains so much, especially Dorinda’s raging inferiority complex (which, to me, drives a lot of her rage and outrage).  And yes, she is totally sloshed by the end.

Yes, she is delusional.  She wasn’t the least contrite as she should have been after her latest tabacle.  No remorse whatsoever.  After this latest episode, and her phoney apologies, and her hugs and “ I love yous”, I am finished with her.  She fights very Below the belt and I just hated that Luann let her off the hook so easily.

I thought Dorinda was a little drinky that morning of apologies, she was not pronouncing her words clearly and her thought process was a little off, IMO.

I would have been right next to Carole hurling into a bowl too.  I noticed that Beth stayed with her and that was a nice gesture.

I can honestly say I do not need to see any of these women' ass crack.  What is the facination of mooning?  What was Sonja on or was she drunk the way she kept strangly dancing and flashing and mooning anyone who would look?

I think she looks awesome here.  I think Dorinda has so many fine qualities.  I hope that she can figure it out and get better. If she's not convinced that she needs rehab, therapy or to stop drinking, nothing is going to convince her.  Unless, people cut her out of their lives. If it's bad enough, they will.  I just wonder if the Dorinda on the show, is the private life Dorinda.

Dorinda's drunken outbursts are interesting and fascinating to me. I know, I'm weird.

There always seems to be some (perceived?) trigger moment that starts the ball rolling:

-Heather didn't wait for her, and didn't care

-Heather didn't listen to or care what Doris was trying to say about how using MFer all the time can impact whether/how you're seen as a professional businesswoman

-Sonja won't stop talking about her past lifestyle as if it were earlier this afternoon and can't/won't(?) seem to see reality

-Someone touched the cake her mother made (LOTS of sentimental value and nostalgia involved)

-Bethenny shut her down when she was talking to the charity guy about kids in Haiti going to college (tho he said the kids they brought to the US were going to college, not the kids still in Haiti, she may have had a slurred valid point)

-Luann (of all people) told her she was "turning" *

It would be interesting to see how she is in her natural environment, instead of with the Bravo shit-disturbing house hags. Tho, John did seem to know when it was time to escort her out of her own Halloween party...I feel bad for her, she's got some other issues causing her to drink so much as an escape (in my unprofessional, I watch too much Intervention, opinion).

*I can't help but wonder if Luann was embracing sobriety the same way she embraced her infatuation with love for Tom. Doris may have had enough of hearing how great sobriety is for Luann, in that "who is she really trying to convince?" kind of way, and feeling like she was being policed or monitored by the reigning alcohol abuse specialist, fresh out of rehab.

I watch Intervention, too. (That's why I think Candy would be perfect to help Dorinda!) I think it's a fascinating show and helps keep me honest and was also very helpful when dealing with a family SA situation. Before I veer too far off topic, I will add that "back in the day," Intervention featured a lot more alcoholics. Today's episodes are mostly about opioids and meth addiction. There is the rare instance where an addict just fell in with the wrong crowd or experimentation turned into a full-blown habit, but 90% of them are battling some inner demons that run the gamut from childhood sexual abuse to absent/abusive parents to death of a loved one.

I've only seen Dorinda in action for two seasons now, and have witnessed

Clip! Clip! Clip! (OK. That one was funny because it was just so random and WTF)

Numerous occasions of lambasting Sonja (see above) in both public and private homes

Stabbing herself in the hand

Shoving her face into a lighted birthday cake

The embarrassing drunken dinner rant with Bettheny in PR

Having to leave her own Halloween party early

The latest blow-up with Luann

and the list goes on

And I absolutely agree that Luann is probably lording her sobriety over anybody and everybody. It could probably have been anybody sitting across the able from her who dared to order a drink with dinner. She has that "upper hand" superiority air about her, regardless of the issue at stake. In Luann's THs, where she talks about not drinking, it really sounds to me like she's convincing herself. Look how well that apparently has been working ...

Dorinda needs to go to rehab to detox from the alcohol and whatever else, and then get some counseling on grief and anger management and whatever else is fueling this downward spiral. Otherwise, I like her and think she is a good asset to the cast -- when she can keep her behavior in check.

OTBW, I have read/heard that the number one excuse when somebody is pulled over for suspected drunk driving is always, "But I've only had two."

She's one of those ugly beautiful people to me. Most of the time I think she is stunning, but sometimes ugly, feature wise.

This may not be a popular opinion but I've always thought the ugly brown Louis Vuitton pattern is awful.    I wouldn't buy an LV and I wouldn't carry one if I got it as a gift.    Why would I want a bag with someone else's initials plastered all over it?   I'm a classic Coach gal.  Every bag I own is an unadorned leather Coach.

agreed!  I don't like logos AT ALL!!!  ( I did save up & buy me a forest-green Balenciaga on sale.... people don't know *what* it is unless they know what it is, know what I mean?)

I totally know what you mean. I remember wishing I could afford the Balenciaga city bag (in gray or black lol) when it was everywhere precisely because it didn't have any obvious logos on it.

Last season on RHOBH when the women were in Germany, LVP had this beautiful raspberry velvet Gucci clutch that I LOVED for the exact reason that it wasn't obviously emblazoned with the Gucci stripes or the double GG.

Such a pretty purse!

Lol, I followed that link and it called me "Canada" (as in "thanks for shopping, Canada" in a pop up). Made me laugh.

Dorinda -- the '70s called.  It wants its wide-ass bell bottoms back.  She probably spent $500 for that pair of slacks back in 1974.  They've held up well because of their quality, and so she'll still wear those $500 slacks and ignore the fact that they're the same age as that starting-to-gray waiter serving her.

And I cannot stomach a retirement age woman wearing all white.  It's a pet peeve of mine, maybe because my late mother-in-law wore the all-white look ad nauseum and she was a world class lazy mean rich bitch.  So I kinda can't not recognize the same attitudes in Dorinda.  And hate her for it, of course.

I recently saw a woman living my retirement dream wearing my future retirement wardrobe.  She was leaving the library with her new book, touch of lipstick, in her caftan, with her swim suit underneath, ready to lounge by the pool all day and read. She was super tan, which I will pass on but everything else....

No track suits for me. It's sooo hot where I live and I told my bff I'm going caftan in my old age. I know Kyle gets hell for them but I love them and (I'm like 9 inches taller).

White pants, colorful shirts with cardigan (in case the damn air con is set too high!) gold shoes, gigantic hair. That's my retirement wardrobe plan.

(Just mentally reviewing my vacation snapshots and I may already be there. Big hair not exactly as planned, more a Monica Geller high humidity situation, but still...I'm 75% of the way!)

Man, the denial is STRONG with this one.  I used to love Dorinda, but she's just a source of frustration for me at this point.   You have a problem, woman.  Time to get some help.

(Has she never watched an episode?  Did she miss those subtitles??!!)

So many of these women need rehab, Bravo should insist they get help and shoot the next season from the facility. I’m tired of watching a bunch of desperate aging drunks on the Housewives franchise - it would be refreshing to watch some of them get their shit together.

Yep - I know they each signed up for this and all, but it feels pretty exploitative.   I'm glad that some of them see it, eventually.

I have a hard time with my addiction to these shows when it begins to appear as a pattern and we're seeing the decline of one after another.   I guess it's the hope of seeing their comebacks that keeps me tuning back in, inevitably.

I love me a pool party.  But my god! that picture gives me anxiety for those happy looking people at hers.

Do they realize that all that fun can turn to crap by mid-afternoon, after the margaritas have been flowing, just by forgetting to thank Dorinda for sharing her sunscreen?

Her posture and demeanor in that picture seems like she's still making it nice. But do they realize that they are just one Margarita away from being poked in the eye and thrown off the premises?

But, but! She'll acknowledge that she did poke your eye out and apologize, so all's good now, right? And any recipient of Dorinda's spittle soaked admonishment (love that one, Ryebread!) and eye poking will have Dorinda's acknowledgement of wrongdoing *and* apology for comfort the next time she does the same very thing.

I mean, what's the problem!?

LOL.

One of my favorite examples of Dorinda doing that, is on the boat ride from Hell after her squirmish with Luann the night before. She's sitting on the deck of the boat cozied up to Bethenny and saying something like, "Isn't it weird how we can go on these trips and get all effed up but somehow it just brings us closer together and bonding? What is that all about?"

I dunno, Doris.  But nice try.

She sounded like she was trying to convince ten-year-old old Hannah of what a good thing it was that Mommy gave her a verbal bashing the day before.

I'd say that is called denial and rationalization, but clearly I'm not a people person like Dorinda: When she abuses someone, it's for the greater good dontcha know.

Has anyone thanked her for that yet? Ingrates.
