If one of my daughters had a micro-preemie and were unable to care for the baby herself, I would be willing to help, of course, but I would be beyond anxious. I get a little sick to my stomach just thinking about how scary it would be . . . and I'm a mature adult who has successfully raised three babies to adulthood. 30 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4043921

Well, at one point they had an awful lot of little kids (more than one point, actually). So they almost certainly corralled at least all the girls and maybe even some of the boys into various age-inappropriate little-kid-handling work at times. Jill was likely helping cook dinner and clean the living room while trying to teach James to say the alphabet all at the same time when this picture was taken. And somebody had to drag Hannie around, so another girl in Jill's buddy team was designated. I don't think there's any way that the four oldest girls would have been able to handle all the tasks they were stuck with all the time (even less chance if any of the four was crafty and ever snuck out of assigned tasks). And we know their mother and father offered little to no assistance. This was not just a very large family but a fricking huge family -- beyond any size that could be managed in anything like a normal. way. Just the size of the family, along with having its mother be lazy and psychologically disturbed, constitutes a certain level of child abuse all by itself, if you ask me. bigskygirl February 12, 2018 Share February 12, 2018 (edited) My husband almost had to have his taken out not too long after his transplant. Another patient got a bad gallbladder infection that was causing problems with his new kidney. I guess now transplant centers are requiring patients to have their gallbladder removed before getting a new kidney. The kidney specialist was concerned about it because my husband would have to be cut open due to the scar tissue from his transplant. So far so good. No need for surgery for almost fourteen years. Hopefully he will not need to have his removed. I guess God did not save Michelle from having her gallbladder removed. She must not have prayed and read the bible enough. I do get creepy vibes off of Austin but I think Joy's absence from social media is all her doing. I think Joy's spot on the Duggar line-up is significant, here. Growing up on the show, the focus was on Josh, the four oldest sisters, and the youngest kids. Joy wasn't a sister mom so people weren't interested in hearing from her, and she was too old to be considered cute during talking heads. She never had to deal with the public or TLC producers being interested in her specifically, so she never had to learn to engage with the cameras as an individual. When she was shoe-horned in with her older sisters it was extremely obvious that she was out of her element and was bored out of her mind. The first time I remember her being included with the older group was when they did that group interview before any of them were married about what they were looking for in a husband, and Joy had no idea how to answer questions, even the pre-approved ones from the producers. In that light, it's not at all surprising that, once out of the house, she doesn't actively seek out attention. It wasn't her job to do that growing up so she never developed the habit or interest. 14 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4052950

No idea why those two things would be related. Other than the doctor just told her that so she’d quit stalling and have the surgery. Because pregnancy produces hormones, estrogen and progesterone, that are built from cholesterol. Because of the metabolism of those hormones, the cholesterol level in all pregnant women is high (never get your cholesterol checked while pregnant). What are gallstones made of? Cholesterol! So, if a woman is prone to gallstones, she is going to make more of them in pregnancy and this can lead to serious, even life-threatening, complications. My grandmother died of complications after gallbladder surgery. It happens. 24 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4053062

bigskygirl February 12, 2018 Share February 12, 2018 I doubt Joy is getting the care she needs. The Duggar daughters are not the smartest group when it comes to getting the best pregnancy care available. Christina87 February 12, 2018 Share February 12, 2018 Consider me a conspiracy theorist who thinks the baby is already here, and that's the reason for the radio silence. Then they'll play a little game where they show us a few newborn pics, and not much else until about thanksgiving maybe. Anytime we see joy, she'll have a giant blanket or something where we can't see the baby. ? 10 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4053202

She looks about 8 years old here and hefting Johannah on her little back is not a good thing. It's kind of surreal to see a Duggar girl's natural, non-orange-spray-tanned skin here on Joy. It's really a glaring reminder that they paint themselves with fake tanner even with modesty and all.... On 2/11/2018 at 10:28 AM, Farmfam said: Joy very well might not enjoy being pregnant. I didn't. I didn't feel well, I was uncomfortable with my belly, I hate the attention it drew, etc. That being said, this is so funny....when they overshare it is "longest pregnancy in history" or "we don't care" or "weekly pictures like a teenager would do" so she is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. Maybe she just doesn't love the spotlight and it more comfortable not sharing?! I hated being pregnant. There are maybe six-seven pictures of me when I was pregnant (that's including both of my pregnancies). I always thought I'd do cute bump photos/pregnancy photo shoots with my husband. Then by the second trimester, I was so uncomfortable, felt so gross all of the time in the humidity of south Louisiana, and was so over being pregnant, that I found the idea of doing pregnancy photos of myself as repellent. (I still think it's cute when people do them. I'm jealous that the pregnant women look so serene and happy cradling their bumps. I felt anything but cute or serene once I started to show & wanted no part of doing my own pregnancy photo shoot.) There's no way I'd be taking pregnancy portraits or even cute mirror-bump-selfies when I was pregnant if I knew thousands of followers would be looking at them (as they would Joy's). I'd be exhausted just thinking about it. Good for Joy for not feeling like she "has to" do the photo documentation of her pregnancy for the whole world to see. Temperance February 13, 2018 Share February 13, 2018 I doubt the baby is here. Joy and Austin have never had a large social media presence. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4053406
Sew Sumi February 13, 2018 Share February 13, 2018 Wasn't the cat let out of the bag that the 22nd was the due date? At any rate, she can go at any time now, so nothing will surprise me. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4053460
Absolom February 13, 2018 Share February 13, 2018 They're now 262 days post wedding so definitely "in the clear" from all the conspiracy talk. Not a lot of photos have been posted from Joy or Austin ever so I don't think it's strange at all that they are being quiet now. Joy is probably involved in exactly what she should be of doing final preparations and maybe having some fun before the baby gets here. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4053752

Ha she is probably helping Sierra with her strawberry dipping business while some of the lost girls are babysitting Seeeeerrra's kids. lol 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/78/#findComment-4053835
