Good gravy. Did I hear Sonja and Carole refer to the situation at the party as a "worldwind"?

Yes, you did.  But it wasn't Sonja.  It was Writer Girl who said it.  Twice.  Worldwind.

Wow. Carole and Teresa have many things in common. Books, and excellent elocution.

And Bethany, who are your friends that are taking clandestine photos at a bar and texting people at 2:00 a.m. with the incriminating evidence!??

I'm saying! If a "friend" interrupted my slumber to send me text messages about someone I was only industry cool with, I'd be like: 201602_2211_eadif_sm.jpg

Bethenny needs new friends.

Honestly, I kind of get Sonja. I recently heard through the grapevine that an ex of mine (one who I dated for several years and lived with for a time) just got engaged and it brought up all sorts of weird, unexpected emotions.

But that makes sense. You had an actual relationship. Sonja was only smashing Tom. I still think that she's only in her feelings about it because she didn't get wife'd up. I don't doubt that if the roles were reversed, Sonja would be flashing her ring up in everyone's face, too.

So apparently, one of Beth's spies saw Tom making out with a former playboy bunny?

So this 'friend" of  Bethenny's just happens to know this chick was a former playboy bunny? It really must be a small world on the island of Manhattan. Something's fishy.

BTW, was it me or did Beth look pretty anorexic when she came into the room in that bikini?

She looked horrific! I know she's been sick but damn that buckets of blood disease has really taken a toll on her looks. She needs to never utter another word about Jules skinny ass ever again.

I doubt that Lu and Tom have really deep feelings about each other,* and I realize that Lu signed up for this (reality TV), but I still feel kinda bad for her, based on the previews.  I also feel bad that I'm kinda looking forward to seeing her being taken down a notch or two.  I think a lot of her joy is because she snagged a guy that dated two of her "friends" first.

*All she can say about him is that "he's a great guy", "we're soulmates" -- those aren't qualities.  And Tom, he just seems like he wants to get it over with.

So as it stands now these women have pretty marginal men on their lives.  Sonja and Ramona have make believe boyfriends at best.  Bethenny's boyfriend is married and apparently not filed for divorce or had the gumption to do so for the last six months, while she runs around sporting an engagement ring, Carole has do nothing Adam, Jules husband dumped her for someone else, and Luann has Tom.  Tom who now Bethenny is asserting is both hinky financially and cheating.

Carole is an idiot for encouraging the Tom was flirting with Ramona crap.  The guy looked like he was ready to flee.  Ramona was an idiot for saying Luann was trying to get between she and Tom.  Sonja is an idiot for claiming engaged Tom didn't have his flirt game on.  I don't know when Tom and Sonja did the deed but if they waited 10 years, it was probably anti-climatic and in any event BL.  Ramona saying while she was dating Tom, she was in a serious relationship and yet she was going to his apartment.  I guess the question remains who else was there?

Carole appalled when Tom said his first fiancé,  he is 49 years old would it not be strange if didn't have a previous serious relationship?

I hope Luann has properly vetted Tom for his financial status.  Sonja asking if a guy's bank account matched hers.  Telling.

Ramona should have been pushed off the boat.

Bethenny is unconscionable for her taking votes when she knew she had evidence that was incontrovertible.  I do question why someone photographed someone for 60 minutes making put in public.  Tom was wrong but these ladies do not seem to attract quality available men.

I still don't understand why she brought the whole paper in addition to the clipping, isn't the point of clippings* that you dont need the whole paper?

Bottom line is that Lu and Tom are still together so Beth's revelation really isn't all that relevant.

But Lu hasn't yet experienced the public humiliation, via social media and the tabs, that will rain down on her and Tom's heads after next week's epi.

She's thick skinned but these are also very shallow people we're talking about.  I think it is still yet to be determined if there's going to be a wedding or not. I'm still saying 'nope'.  If all this is true about Tom, privately they may have tried to move on, but once her Instagram, Twitter, et al is ablaze with what a turd he is and how she deserves better...I dunno.  She's thick skinned but she's also proud. We'll see, but I say she kicks him to the curb.

Good thing she didn't spring for stamps and actual stationary for their Save the Date.

Maybe the reason he took her on the worldwind European vacation was to love her up so she wouldn't dump him after Beth's revelation hits the airwaves next week.

I just SMDH regarding Sonja crying over Tom picking LuAnn over her to make a life with.  Sigh.  My former best friend had a strictly "Friends with Limited Benefits" (no full-on intercourse) with a guy who told her the truth that he was a straight-up middle-aged man whore and a lifetime bachelor with no kids for a reason.  She was all like "Okay, I'm totally cool and I'm down with the situation" (even though she wanted to get married some day, have children).

When this guy started speaking to some of her friends, female acquaintances on social media, and actually started taking them out on occasional dates, sleep overs, and out of town vacations my friend went absolutely BSC psycho-crazy, like FULL-ON Single White Female to the Nth degree.  The guy never took my friend on proper dates or trips.  She was just the late night booty-call.

My friend demanded, was calling, texting the other females that they were forbidden to see the guy, etc. and everyone around her was like "Huh?  Yeah.  We won't be doing that."  Things spiraled waaaay out of control as in law enforcement had to get involved.  I couldn't reel my GF in no matter how hard I tried.

I wound up having to permanently cut my friend out of my life because of it.  After two and a half years of her sobbing 100% every.single.time we either got together or spoke on the phone about this "nothing" POS (and he was) I had to tell my GF  that middle school ended decades ago for me and as a mature adult I would be cutting bait and putting our friendship on ice until she seeked professional help and talked to someone.

No way with that BS.  Too emotionally and physically exhausting for me.

I, for one, cannot do the FWB thing.  I tried twice and feelings just got in the way on my end.  IMHO Sonja's really good at the FWB arrangement for the most part, but I can relate that she's feeling some sort of way (like chopped liver, right Jules? :)  because after a 10 year situation with Tom he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Lu in less than 30 days flat.  I think I'd be feeling "less than" as well.

I do realize Tom's not obligated to give Sonja an explanation or a head's up regarding dating Lu but after 10 years of intimacy on a regular basis I would think that there is some genuine level of friendship going on there and a brief courtesy sit-down with Sonya would have been the classy and gentlemanly thing to do.

Of course we are talking about Tom here.  A brief courtesy sit-down with Lu Ann would have been the classy and gentlemanly thing to do in regard to him having his tongue shoved down a Playboy bunny's throat in some bar two nights before his yacht engagement party, so there's that.

I don't even think Sonja's necessarily in love with Tom either.  Insert any guy she would have had a 10-year situation with and I think she'd feel the same.  Didn't Sonya say she wanted to get married again at some point?  I think Sonya's just overly sensitive at this time.  As many others have so eloquently posted before me I think many hidden emotions have now bubbled to the surface and she doesn't know how to deal with it.  Sonja is middle-aged, wanting a permanent partner, yet her GF got the canary diamond engagement ring (however cloudy it may be).  I hope Sonja doesn't start heavily drinking again to cope.

Dorinda reminding Sonja that she and Tom were not in a real relationship but just regularly got together after many drinks and made love was the correct way to point out the situation.  On the other hand, Ramona ....  Oh shit.  She was just stirring the pot and winding Sonja up.  I think Tom's a snake and some day I feel Sonja will look back on the entire situation and know she dodged a bald-headed bullet.

The hotel and restaurant is located on the first floor of the Regency Hotel on Park Avenue. The bar is known to be a place for movers and shakers (big time banking, oil, and even met an aging magazine magnate there). Lots of networking going on and a lot of drinking. And a lot of fIirting of course.  A lot of these men were over 50 and many of the 70+ years old were still looking for sex. Whenever I went, I would usually go around 6-ish and stay until 9 and go to dinner.  The crowd changed a lot during that time so perhaps these women hit the Regency after 10 or something.

Very masculine environment but there are definitely a lot of women there looking for a free drink or two and because of the clientele, there were always a couple of very high class escorts hanging around (drop-dead gorgeous).

Felt bad for one woman because she would always order a couple of martinis and tried to get into conversations with men but she was a known mess, so was usually politely ignored. Eventually, she would quietly leave.  She seemed really sad. Lots of wealthy Europeans, too (spent one evening talking to a S. American lady whose husband was a hotelier in France). A good amount of regulars and the bartenders are sharp.  After my second time I was there, they knew my drink and had it waiting for me when I walked in.

Never bothered to eat there (we always went somewhere else to eat) but the restaurant looked nice.

The bar area isn't big at all so you see everyone pretty easily .

When Larry David had some show on Broadway, I used to see him wandering around the hotel lobby a lot.  Never saw him in the bar.

Well, on paper Lu is the better catch for Tom with $5 mill profit from the sale of her Bridgehampton house and a newly renovated home in Sag Harbor.  Plus an ugly, yet, marketable clothing line.

Sonja, on the other hand, has a crumbling manse next to a parking garage filled with cooking oil, stuffed animals and interns and a career that is going to the same place Carole's is. Nowhere.

If I had to choose, I'd pick Sonja.

Ramona seriously brought a clipping of that article to Palm Beach?

LVP packed her bags, doncha know! :)  It doesn't surprise me in the least that she had an actual paper press clipping.  I expect Ramona has all of her press clippings in a scrap book.

I need some help from y'all with the steel trap memories of details.  As far as I understood it up until tonight, the story that Lu & the Count's "open marriage" was, while believable, a rumor that Lu has never confirmed publicly.  So, did Bethenny just out a years' long secret of Lu's for no real reason?  I get that Beth was attempting to make the open marriage secret relevant to Tom's alleged behavior at the hotel bar, but it still struck me as just another in a long line of side jabs at Luann.  Ugh, the whole last 15 minutes with Beth was just plain exhausting.  We all know she's a savvy reality tv personality and self produces; we know she knows all this "should I tell her what freaky texts blew up my phone?" shit is on camera and will make it to air.  We all know her source isn't some "friend who doesn't have a dog in this hunt" as she said last week.  It's either a tabloid source, a paid mole at the hotel bar, a lackey she's/Bravo's paid to stake out UES haunts, Sonja's facialist, or LisaR's hairstylist.  So, so damn fake...and hypocritical once again.  Wasn't it just a few weeks back that B admonished Jules not to use hearsay to attack her?

I thought it was interesting on WWHL it seemed that Dorinda was lightly critical of Bethenny.  Maybe she's crawling out of B's ass? Is there hope for her?  But, yeah, Jules did look good with shorter hair and healthier overall.

I'll admit that I liked the boat party for all that it wasn't: no screaming fights, insane drunk dancing, and an array of strange guests, none of which were George, Aviva's lecherous father.  That cake was just too sad though.  A prefab ice cream cake from DQ would have looked better.

If Dorinda is being even slightly critical of Bethenny publicly or seeming to show signs of any distancing of herself from Bethenny's backside I can only assume Bethenny made a complete ass/fool of herself at the reunion and in how she handled the Tom situation .

Lu said her party was great because there was no fighting. True. But damn if that wasn't the most awkward yacht party ever. Tom looked SO freaking uncomfortable. Dorinda was wasted and giving unintelligible speeches. Sonja was flouncing around in barely anything on top. The owner of the yacht was clearly huffing helium in back. Jules was pouring alcohol all over the bar. Good times!

I just have to say, that grapefruit comment did not sound flirty to me. It sounded merely observational. And, if anything, it had a tinge of teenager commenting on his mom smelling like an old lady. But leave it to Ramona to decide that Tom is now flirting with her.

Don't get me wrong, I think Tom is likely a bit shady. I think Lu is too. Remember, this is the chick that cheated on her other fiance with a Pirate and went through all these crazy hoops to try and keep it under wraps. So whatever. Tom and Lu have chosen each other for whatever reason, just let them be.

And I feel like Sonja would be fine with it if it weren't for Ramona. She will be all happy and breezy and then Ramona calls in and starts asking questions and trying to get Sonja to reminisce, and next thing you know Sonja is all misty eyed and sad. Yea, I see what you're doing, Ramona.

Dorinda is playing her part as well. She's having a grand ol time gossiping, then runs upstairs and tells on the others! Well, at least she admits what she is doing.

I loved when Ramona told Lu she was pissed about Lu talking to the press, because Moaner doesn't want the guys she's dating to know she dated Tom. Um, then why do YOU keep bringing it up on camera???? She's so full of shit.

Jules's conversations with her family back home are so uncomfortable. First of all, why name your daughter "Rio" if you don't even know the difference between nina and nino? That's like Spanish 101. Also, Michael is shady as fuck and it sucks that she can't go out of town and rely on him to be there for his kids. I don't really care if she's manipulating the situation to get his flaws on camera, because he sucks. So there.

Forgive my ignorance, but don't you need a person's phone number to text them.

I doubt Beth's phone number is public knowledge. So unless you're just saying flat out that Bethenny is behind this info being collected, how would half of these "sources" text her the info. Would Sonja's facialist have Beth's phone number, would Lisa R's hairstylist? If anything Beth would have THEIR number not the other way around.

Can't wait to see why Lu is really crying. I can't believe she's so over the moon. This has GOT to be fake right? Tom is not all that, that she should fall for him so hard, so quickly. It makes no sense to me. I really see nothing special about him at. all.

Haven't seen this weeks episode yet but a couple of things I thought of reading the thread:

  • Luann may have cheated on Jaques with the pirate but remarkably they are still friends and text according to some articles I read yesterday.  He attended and toasted her at her 50th birthday party.  And he was asked about Tom and said that he heard from Luann and again mentioned they are friends.  She also apparently still has a good relationship with the Count.  I think that speaks more to her character than any edited version of her on a reality show.  I also think is part of the puzzle of Bethenny's hatred for her.
  • I don't know where Jules came up with the name (again haven't seen the latest episode yet) but I always thought of the Duran Duran song.
  • I feel sorry for Sonja because I think she got carried away with this story line by the ladies to get herself on camera.  She was shut out for most of the season until Bethenny decided to hug it out once she alienated Luann and Jules.  I also think Sonja is still not over her divorce so this situation with Luann and Tom just brings her fears and insecurities to the top and the other vultures use her as a tool.  I don't think for Sonja it is malicious, she is very much the tragic figure of her own life.

In my imagination Tom's mom arranged that cake while church shopping. She hates Lu and for that matter any women her son is close to and she will passively disrupt any relationship. She will also make sure that they never find a church.
