So Meri and Kody stopped being intimate 10+ years ago. That was when Robyn joined the family.  Wish they had brought that up. 
 

So in their religion, the man is not allowed to spiritually divorce a wife? Is that Kodys excuse for keeping Christine and Meri in limbo? Little confused by what he was saying about a double standard in that context.

I was surprised to hear that Meri and Kody hadn’t been intimate for over a decade. Based on the timeline, this was before the catfish incident.  Now I understand why she was so ripe for the picking. 

Let’s see if I understand this.  Robyn and her kids live in a five-bedroom mansion with a nanny, while the other wives live in three-bedroom houses.  And yet, Kody had the nerve to say that she gets “the shit end of the stick.”  This guy is unreal.

I don’t feel sorry for her; you reap what you sow but it’s interesting to see how the tables have turned; Meri, Janelle, and Christine all look better than they did 10 years ago IMO, and Robyn looks like she’s aged 30 years.

I honestly believe Meri just sticks around because of the TV show. She likes the fame and it helps her make money with her other businesses. 
She’s on Instagram all the time with her girlfriends, traveling around having fun. No sign of her sitting home alone pining away for Kody.

Like they so often do, they gave away the best bits in the preview. I want to know WHY Kody is saying the trust was broken and intimacy ended before the catfish incident. Could Meri have had a real life affair?  Was so annoyed they didn’t pursue that line of questioning. 

All the talk of fellowship made me think of Lord of the Rings. Is Koduche Pass the new Mordor?  And more importantly, why would anyone want fellowship with Kody?

Robyn was dressed like a JC Penney ad from 1987. Just as bad as LLR in its own way. 

I will not believe Meri is staying for any reason other than show money unless and until the show gets cancelled and then she stays. Not holding my breath!

What I got from this is Kody is enraged one of his designated whipping girls, Christine, has defected. Christine saw how they ganged up on Meri when she tried to defect, and how Kody will never forgive anyone who challenges his version of reality. Kody is as unhinged and insecure as ever, but Christine's move has really pushed him to the edge. Robyn senses he is going to make her suffer for all this, after all, in his mind things "worked" until she showed up. I am proud of Christine for exposing what a mess their lives really are. And I hope Kody reads this.

I wish the former news anchor had pointed out that yes, Kody DID abandon Meri - 10+ years ago, which would have been 3+ years before the cat-fishing. His freezing her out while having a "full functioning marriage" with Robyn is what drove her to seek friends elsewhere.

I actually like the way they edited the clips. I'm guessing lots of footage to wade through. 

I like the way the interviewer agrees wirh them to keep them talking. She just let Kody roll. Excellent. She led Robyn down her poor pitiful path. Lol.

 

Meri seemed angry, and a tch defensive at some of the Qs. Kody? Slightly? Unhinged, still more honest than Meri.

10 years or so was the move to Vegas and the wet bar.  Mariah going to a private school in Utah while Logan went to the local state school. Meri was being very difficult.  That’s when I thought things ended for them,  because Robyn tried very hard to be the  un-Meri

Perhaps Meri was being difficult because she was being iced out of the family dynamic. Christine and Janelle were/are "the family." Robyn was "the new family." And Kody stopped being intimate because of Meri's "behavior." Just like we've seen him do with Christine. Meri was largely irrelevant - pushed farther and farther away. Seems like she was clawing onto anything as a way to claim some sort of self worth. And she fought hard for Mariah too.

 

Kody again mentioned the moment that "changed us" was when Truely almost died. But no follow up question? Makes me wonder if she was iced out a long time ago too. She definitely was always in the doghouse with him unless she did the "happy, fun, sweet, life of the party Christine." He was so annoyed with her when she dared to try to advocate for herself or her kids.

So apparently Kody froze out his other wives when he married Robyn, forcing Christine to spend  over a decade battling for scraps and working so hard to improve a marriage he was no longer interested in, sending Mary looking for any scraps of love and attention from strangers on the internet…but he sees no blame for himself in all that?  He’s just pissed beyond belief that first Mary would have left him if the “guy” had been genuine and she hadn’t been catfished, and now Christine did leave him when he admitted the last couple of years with no intimacy are the forever plan.  He is vile. He has been a failure as a husband since he took his 2nd wife.

I don’t like LLR at all but I actually prefer the LLR prints and graphic tees to Robyns super frumpy schoolmarm tops. They age her so tremendously. That blouse she’s wearing on the tell all is sooooo unflattering and matronly. At least LLR is attempting to be stylish in its own garish, polyester way?

I think she purposely dressed down, and matronly for the interview.  Her hair was in tight curls - no fluff.  She wanted to look more "religious", and following the "culture" they built.   She has repeatedly said the other wives blame her, so by looking dowdy, and beaten down she conveyed a sense of being beaten down, and oh so worried.   Notice that it is definitely not the same type of clothes/hair she was seen in while out shopping/dining with Kody.  It's all an act.   Victim look.

Maybe, but also maybe he was pressuring her to get pregnant any way possible (IVF etc.) since that is his whole focus and she didn't.  Maybe he felt that she didn't share his feelings about their spiritual mission.  I really would love to know.

That is also about a decade ago.  Because Robyn made the surrogacy offer right  after Sol was born, and Meri didn’t answer that for months, finally saying no.  So it probably is part of it.

If the interviewer has ever watched this show, she should've just sat back as Sobyn cued up the waterworks and maybe flipped through her notes or played Candy Crush on her phone until Robyn stopped.  The fact that she had to ask an intern to bring Robyn some tissues was so cringe.  Again, if she'd watched the show she would've known to just have a literal pyramid of open boxes of Kleenex on the table right in front of Robyn because of course she was going to start crying 30 seconds into plopping her butt down on that chair.  I literally burst of laughing as soon as she started blubbering.

Every time Meri kept insisting that she doesn’t want to leave I was reminded of the episode that was filmed while the catfishing was still going on where they were all out a restaurant and she said something like the others might wake up one morning and find out she had left. She was almost gleeful at the prospect of shocking them all and walking away at that time because she thought she might actually have a new life to walk into. Her insistence now that she would never leave is BS as she absolutely would have if the catfish had been real.

I was glad to see, in the preview for next week, Christine say she's done with polygamy and it's not the lifestyle she wants for herself anymore. She was so (brainwashed?) insistent on believing that monogamy was such a terrible way to live for so many years. Ironic how much hate there was for Tony, and yet seeing Mykelti (and Aspyn) being treated with care and respect and single-minded attention are at least in part what helped her see a better way finally.

Yep. And she’s lying about it now. But the 200+ voicemails she left are still out there, a couple of them are of her telling Sam he is wayyyy better than Kody. And here Meri is, on camera, claiming she wasn’t going to leave. BULLSHIT. 

Having worked in law enforcement, one of the toughest things for a person to do is admit wrongdoing.  Once they do, however, the floodgates open and the person becomes more authentic (and easier to empathise with). Only when a person is honest and authentic can they move forward with—and accept—the consequences of their actions and Meri has yet to do this. Everyone knows she’s still hiding the truth, which makes for very awkward and distrusting relationships. 

Edited to add: The longer a person waits to be truthful, the harder it is and less likely it’ll happen. Meri will deny her part in this forever.
