That's what makes me also think it might be Gina's last year. That was a serious injury and, while this year won't be as bad without a kickline and jumpsplits, she still runs the risk of reinjuring it, and if they're going back on the field next year it would be ten times riskier for her to continue dancing with DCC. I would hate to see her go without being point, I love her as a dancer, but it might just be the smartest decision for her.

I had some difficulties separating the great dancer from the impression that was the result of the character assassination that was carried out on Gina in her first year, so my opinion on Gina varied through the years.

After her second year, Gina danced her way into my heart and she stayed there based on her character and how caring and devoted she is. When TCC Gina Campagna almost blew all the other girls knees out by split-jumping out of sync, Gina was the most concerned and you could see how emotional she was for Gina Campagna. When Bridget fainted, Gina was the first to help. Gina's encouragement and coaching of Meredith during Melissa's Kiss Of Death session last season, was heartwarming.

I am, almost at the end of Gina's tenure, finally #TeamGina.

When I saw that Gina was one of the very few DCC bridesmaids of Miranda I knew she had to be a good person. Miranda always came off to me as the most genuine and kindhearted of the DCC.

And with the way things are going, it may not be long before DCC isn't at the stadium either.  Players from 3 more teams tested positive this morning, putting this weekend's games in doubt for their teams.  And this is after 2 games had to be rescheduled last week.  The NFL is going to start tightening the reins pretty soon before it gets out of hand.

A lot of them have had their cheerleaders on their drum decks or on an open part of the stands. Must feel weird for those ones cheering with no crowd, I watch it on their insta stories and think you’ve got no atmosphere to add to the adrenaline and create the performance of it.

Doesn't seem to me that Daphne finds it embarrasing/awkward. It just shocked her. I got the same reaction when smth happens 😂

I never expected Savannah to get a leadership role. She never seemed the dancer that would get it, good dancer but maybe not fit for a leadership role. (Idk for sure but did Melissa Kellerman had a role in her 4th/5th year?)

I am more sad for Rachel A. I really thought she would have got 2nd leader over Ashlee. I hope she decides to stay for a 5th year and became a 2nd leader. She became one of my faves

Something that just clicked into my mind while reading the new comments, remember how everyone was talking about the girls facing the field and dancing with their backs to the crowds, the game against the browns the girls were facing the crowds more from parts i saw. So I wonder if week 1 was a trial and error, purely for filming or what the girls/people fed back of TPTB read on here?

Same! Ill admit that I had issues with Gina her rookie year. She same across a bit arrogant in her interviews. Then I realized it was probably editing. I remember Kitty was gunning for her too after someone supposedly told her Gina had a bad attitude. But she's grown on me and I really like her! Plus, my eye just goes straight to her when she's dancing in a group. Gina would be my choice for point, but sadly she will not get it. Maddie is the fan favorite with the comeback story and a "Star" according to MRS. They are going to ride that train till Maddie retires.

Maddie is a great dancer but every single time I look at her all I see is a cute little brown chipmunk. It's the round cheeks! To this day I still wonder if Kelli still have lingering issue with Gina's features. Call me sensitive, but I would be a bit ticked off if my boss told me I look like the joker when I  smile.

I was surprised too! Savannah is a solid dancer, great ambassador, and very mature. It's possible that she didn't want the role. Maybe she was still holding out hope for making Show Group.  She's one of the ones I predict might retire next year.

She's always been one of the weaker "blenders" to me...but I like her.  I just never saw her as a group leader/second leader.  She just doesn't seem to have that kind of drive.  Other than that, she seems to be a very sweet young lady who loves what she does. 🙂

she's the definition of a blender and obviously we see only a small part of these girls' personalities but she's always seemed so passive and more like a follower than a leader...like she's just happy to be there so she's not gonna gun for a leadership position or anything. her dancing has always been just passable, not powerful or anything. she just has disney princess hair

That pic with daphne is a perfect example of why I do not think she needs to be point. Her ribs are really strange. It’s not just that they are prominent but her whole torso has an odd shape like no waist then those far apart and sticking out ribs. Sammich won’t fix your shape. Plus she always looks so tired under the eyes. I don’t care if she got drunk at a lake, or went o UCLA, she does not photograph well. 
Rachel as one of the points does not suprise me at all bc she never photographs bad. I don’t think her dance is blender. Not Caroline, Amber, Gina Level not not bottom of the rung either. 
Far better choice to me than Maddie, Amy, Tess, Lexie and even Gina. 
I do think Gina is wasting her time here.  Same as Jalyn. They prob don’t want to quit what they’ve started and Gina seems like the type who will not give up once she’s set a goal and strives to be the best, but sister theyve Not just overlooked you, theyve blatantly chosen over you, so take that as it is what it is. Finish school if you’re in Dallas for grad work but cut your losses and move on.

I actually think making 3rd years 2nd GL makes sense. Rachel A and Savannah probably won’t do another year but Caroline, Ashlee, Amber and Rachel W might so this season would prep them for becoming GL next season. This would be a smooth transition for them.

I covet her hair! 

I often wonder, I know it's a big deal to be point and all that, but I wonder how many of them really want to be. It's more work, more pressure, and for what? Being a DCC isn't really a long term career for most. It's murder on the body, maintaining the weight you had when you were 18, 19, 20 isn't healthy and it doesn't pay that well. I suppose "team leader" might look good on their resume.

Exactly! That's why some of the comments here confuse me, like re: Jalyn and Gina above. etc. Like they might as well quit just because they won't be group leaders or point lol or be in show group. Also, being a DCC alone is pretty elite as far as dancing/cheerleading in the US goes, so I personally wouldn't feel like shit just because I don't get picked to be the elite of the elite (show group, GL, point) LOL. It takes a lot to get on the squad in the first place. I guess it really depends on how competitive they are.

Totally! Showgroup is so irrelevant now anyway. They don't learn showgroup-only routines anymore to entertain the troops and wherever else they would perform. Just use whatever girls are free when you need to do an appearance. If to get on the squad you are "world-class", then what do you need to be to make showgroup? A+++ Victoria??
