Rewatching while waiting for pillow talk since it didn’t record last night.....anyways Avery wanting to meet Ash’s ex showed some common sense...which was surprising.   More important at this point to talk to her than the boy.   
 

eta.  Lisa said she had been in Nigeria for a few weeks.  There is a lot we didn’t see.

I like how everything out of Ash's mouth is vague.  His ex is "very positive" about the child moving to the United States.  His brother is "very positive" about his relationship with Avery.  That isn't answering the question!  His ex might be "very positive" that the child is NEVER going to leave her side.  And his brother might be "very positive" that Ash & Avery are destined to crash.

Ash seems shady to me. She's acting direct questions like "How is this going to work with your son possibly coming to the USA" and he's avoiding eye contact and saying "We'll have to talk about that."  Why can't he give her a straight answer about what's going on?

I feel like like he is working some kind of con but I don't know what it is, because if he's a permanent resident of Australia he shouldn't be that interested in a green card to the USA.

Here in N.Y., it was on all night with all of them from the beginning.  At least MOST of them.  Angela wasn’t there.  Every week I say I’m not gonna watch because of all the commercials and not enough shown, but here I am again.  Desperate.   P.s.  Anyone notice they’re not getting any more robo calls lately?  I was getting on average four calls a day, but no more.  Maybe the government put a stop?

I agree, but the con may just be that he doesn't want to lose her and the situation is much messier than she could imagine.  It's like with sumit and Jenny.  He knew he was never coming to the US.  I think he just didn't want to scare her off.  

I don't know what else Avery could really offer him.  There isn't a huge wealth gap and he lives fairly comfortably in Australia and hasn't asked her for money.

Ash just wants to knock boots for a few weeks.  He probably likes that she has a built-in expiration date because he likes shiny new toys.  He can do his online relationship bullshit from anywhere, so he doesn’t need to be in the U.S.

I've noticed far fewer robo calls since the quarantine began. I have a phone system with robo call blocking and it's hardly kicking in.

Nooooo! A woman absolutely can NOT wear the Nigerian man's outfits! No way. Nigerian fashions tell the story of what tribe/people you come from. Every Tribe has their own ways of wearing head wraps, for example. And different dress styles can tell others who your people are. Ditto fabrics. It's very complex and women don't wear pants there as a rule, at least not outside the home.

Some of these Americans are so hypocritical that it’s giving me a headache.

Lisa said that Usman was insecure, but if memory serves, she threw a fit when she saw the beautiful model in his video and demanded to have her removed.

When Geoffrey saw Varya’s apartment and learned that she had previously corresponded with another American, he blew his stack.  He accused her of being dishonest and said that she was using him to get to America.  In the meantime, he hasn’t mentioned the fact that he is an ex-con. 

For someone who makes her living being blatantly sexual, Stephanie seems rather prudish.

Big Ed commented on the fact that Rose and her family are poverty stricken.  Then he proceeded to feed the chicken from the meal that they’d probably spent their last penny to put together.

Personal aside: details unnecessary, but I was once stuck in a place where I was essentially trapped in a place with a guy LONG after I was done wanting to be near him much less intimate with him (I was on the phone BEGGING for a flight out, and, I was young and stupid, and I spent about 48 hours feeling sexually obligated. I look at Rose & Ed and I see the same look on her face and I know the dread in her heart (and my dude was no Mayo Ed! We just stopped liking each other!). I don't care if she's doing this to get to the US or for money or a way out of poverty, there is no way that she will not earn every single penny she gets from him one million times over. If she ends up with him, it will kill her soul. Or, she might kill him, which would probably be justified. Just drown him in mayo, girl.

He has Klippel Feil Syndrome (not speculation, he's talked about it), a congenital condition. It's a fusion of two cervical vertebrae, which limits neck movement and causes the "no neck" look. It's not his fault. Being a jerk is his fault, though.
