A tech-themed twist, the "BB App Store," is unveiled. America has the opportunity to get the Houseguests trending, resulting in power apps or punishments that could crash their game.

Now I hate Brett. He called himself "your boy."

Ha.  When He said that, I said "Paul?"

I have heard enough your boy for a lifetime.

Saggy needs to take it down a notch.  He is too full of himself.

So why was that guy picked for the trending down?  Is he doing something on the live feeds maybe?  Nobody likes him?  That being said being that he's muslum why would he pick something that says "ham"?  I'm sure he could have chosen something else..no?

Faysal.  There is a picture of a ham.  The app is called "Hamazon."  And yet, you're surprised when the punishment involves "Ham."

And gee, Swaggy C.  May I speak on behalf of All Americans, when I say, we're sorry and we'll do better next time.   Sincerely, All Americans.

I don't think he was downvoted, just not voted for at all.

I’ve heard at least 3  of them refer to themselves as “ your boy”and none of you are “ my boy”.  Please America, do not allow Chris to be trending!!  I would,Ike Tyler to be trending. I am a little disappointed that Sam is not a good player. Crying and saying you hate everyone and that they’re all fake will not win this game. She may be in for this week because of the advantage but that won’t help her down the road.

Yeah, trending bad could also mean not getting voted for, at all. Of course, everyone left will be either trending good or bad by process of elimination. Sam & Fassie won’t be eligible to trend for the rest of the season.

Part of me is hoping that Faysal tried to game the system, knowing that if it was ham there’s no way BB could enforce that punishment without some very bad optics. That being said you know productions annoyed and will find something worse

Swaggy do you watch this show? The girls always win and the guys lose when it comes to Showmances? Usually the guys end up punishing the girls and send them home.

Yea, I was like uh what lol. But the two biggest showmances from this show are Jeff/Jordan and Brendan/Rachel, so I guess I kinda see where he's coming from.

Tofam for Fessie.

Glad Sam got the chance at a second life.  But she does need to play better and not alienate the rest.

KCs punishment sucks but it’s not as bad as Sam’s..

Well, I can't speak for all of America, but I was thinking, "Swaggy C is an arrogant asshole who needs a healthy dose of STFU."

And none of you are "my boy." Stop it.

Better words have never been spoken. That said, I’m sure BB is loving it. They don’t have any (stupid) villains this season and he’s as close as it gets.

I was fascinated how the more Sam worked on her hair, the worse it got. And I like her, but she needs to buck the fuck up. I did have to laugh at her bitchy remark to Kaitlyn about how if Kaitlyn was a robot she couldn’t climb into the hot tub with Faysal. Also Kaitlyn being all offended at Sam cursing at her was rich considering Kaitlyn dropped the F-bomb first.

But the two moments I lived for tonight were first Bayleigh saying what all of America is thinking - Swaggy giving himself the name Swaggy is ridiculous and stupid and laughable. And second was him being absolutely crushed he was not the number one trending. LOVE!!

Both alliance names are dumb, but I’m kind of intrigued at the thought of two potentially strong alliances going after each other. It’s kind of a refreshing change from the freaking “what does Paul want this week” show.

Every time one of them said "your boy" I yelled back at the TV, "No your not".

Saggy - I thought it was hilarious that he stood around the app store like they were going to change their minds.  He mashes with that girl and then thinks it was a bad move.  You think?  He really is pathetic.

I think Sam got the high trend because she was the robot.  I think the robot is cool and am enjoying it on the show.  Faysal (?) will probably get a food like substance shaped like a ham.  After the whole have-not food not being kosher did not play well when the player had to leave.  Big Brother 12.

Wow, so much to unpack here and for a Sunday night episode which are usually boring but its early in the season so I guess that's it.

Let's start with the App Store...I groaned when it quickly became apparent for what it really is...Allison Grodner tipping her hand on how she is going to manipulate the season to the outcomes/players she wants. It's as if she sat down with her production crew and said, "Come on people. Let's brainstorm the most thinly veiled method we can come up with to save who we want when we want!" Ugh, just ugh.

Now onto the rest.

Sam, Sam, Sam! That' s a hell of a strategy telling the people who are trying to comfort you and that can save you that they suck. What the hell? And this is coming from someone who likes Sam. I think the saddest thing I've ever seen on this show was just before she started the "one on ones" where she was sitting there alone, immobile and forgotten ala the Tin Woodsman before Dorothy came along. That really was sad.

Move over Zingbot...there's a new zinging robot in town. I got quite the laugh when Robot Sam said if Kaitlin was a robot she wouldn't be able to hang with Fassy in the hot tub!

What the hell are the dynamics in that house? Certain things make no sense. Leading the confusion is we have a budding showmance supposedly between Swaggy and Bayleigh but other than the faux porno scene for the rest of the episode we see Kaitlin cuddled up to Swag in near compromising positions? Say huh?

Also puzzling is the alliance gives itself a name based on 5 people and yet none of the 5 is named Bayleigh and yet Tyler claims Bayleigh is Swag's biggest alliance mate? Bayleigh seems to be in no alliance but wasn't in the "floaters" montage.

Meanwhile, Tyler seems completely unaware that the only reason he's in Level 6 is because he's HOH and they need him. Just as inexplicable is how average looking female football player is in that alliance too made up of the "beautiful people".

Oh, and I hate Level 6 already.

Back to the trending. There is no way Fassy could be trending less than Scottie unless there is some great geek community out there and he's their god. Don't believe it. I also didn't believe how crushed Swaggy was he was not most trending. I started to question how he could be so narcissistic but then I thought to my job where I am on the streets frequently and witness a world where people are so vain and self-obsessed they walk about taking selfies all day...some even investing in sticks or rods to make it easier. God, I want to go back to the 80's!

The dejected look on Swaggy's face when he didn't get the power made the episode and my night. He was so sure he had it. I couldn't help but chuckle.

And Swaggy C, telling America you are going to give them one more week to get it right? Oh yeah that's gonna work. :eyeroll

But if you are the lowest one, you never get to stage a comeback and get a power? Lame.

I've said it before, but power or not, Sam isn't long for this game. she's sweet and pretty genuine, but no gamer.

And I just can't stand Kaitlyn.   We got a pretty good glimpse tonight what she's like once you get past "namaste".

It's really going to be satisfying when "Swaggy" gets evicted from the show ! The guy might actually be likable if he wasn't over the top conceited. I wonder, does he really think that highly of himself or is he playing a character for the show ? The show has been on forever, could he be less self-aware ? He can't really believe that acting this way endears him to America ? Or, maybe he does believe it, but that would be really sad !

Sam's punishment is the worst I can recall. She is seriously being hindered from playing the game.

Also Kaitlyn being all offended at Sam cursing at her was rich considering Kaitlyn dropped the F-bomb first.

Kaitlyn was an asshole. She came in, saw people talking, inserted herself into a conversation that was described as a one on one, acted like a sanctimonious jerk, and informed Sam she should just win the veto as if she can just head to the veto store (particularly given that she had 0 control over her performance in the HOH comp that put her on the block in the first place). She even had the nerve to basically say Sam was an easy target because she isn't around as if it was her fault. Her dove-grandad should have dropped a present on her head.

It is hard for me to get past the inequity of the punishment. I was happy Sam got the reward, but it doesn't fix the fact that she has basically been excluded from the initial discussions and gameplay.

I cannot keep Brett and Winston straight. I feel like their only chance to be trending is "who's Brett again?" I found the Scottie and Steve segment to be aggressively boring. I honestly can't put my finger on why that is. I don't particularly have an opinion on either of them.

If Swaggy C is going to trend, can we all agree that it should be under his given name? Just to mess with him?

I hate both alliance names. I generally don't like when people put numbers in their alliance name. Realistically, that name is going to be inaccurate in a few weeks.

Yeah, it's like these guys  are afraid to use the pronoun "I", so they substitute "your boy".  It's a step away from referring to yourself in the third person, and it needs to stop now.  "I" is a perfectly good pronoun to use to express yourself.

IT does seem like on this show, people do an awful lot of "cuddling" and stroking each other.  Maybe it's a generational thing, I've just never sat so close to a platonic friend, played with each other's hair, laid across them in bed, etc.

How did they determine the "trending?"  was it the twitter hashtags?  or was there a vote of some sort?

"Trending" is just short for 'Whoever we think makes the best story for this week to get a power.' There is no official tally of whatever "votes" there were that we'll ever be shown so it's just flat out producer manipulation basically. It can only be used to bring about the most drama that week.

I was a little turned off by salty Sam but Kaitlyn deserved to be called out for being a heartless wench with her "So you just win POV, what's the big deal?" I can understand though that she's had Big Brother separation from the 'real world' at hyper speed with the robot isolation added on and then being on the block too. She's already on her week 4 breakdown, when everyone else is still going through their honeymoon first week thrills.

I did like how she rebounded once she found out people were behind her though her hair is really a lost cause! I agree that the more she worked it the worse it was getting.

Did Steve say 'C'mon I'm your man America!' that is even worse than 'your boy' or 'your girl'! But yes Chris, "we" got it right and don't need another chance, we did make a possible error in not giving you the "crap app" this week but we'll get that right next week I'm pretty sure after you gave us that stern talking to.

'Fessy' you had lots of choice that didn't have the word HAM in the name of the punishment so I don't want to hear about you not being able to fulfill your punishment.

Speaking of, bring back the 'squid and sour candy' etc. for the havenots!

The one person who I will never give my vote to is "Saggy 'C'eats".

Agree with everything you said!

I like Sam too. She seems like a sweetheart and a down-to-earth person. But she was having a bit of a pity party there. And I liked how JC basically TOLD her to "buck up" and she responded well to that.

The whole robot thing just sucks. I think Sam would struggle with a social game regardless, but this twist really set her back.

Swaggy giving himself a nickname NEEDED to be called out. So fucking stupid.

I also like the idea of two similarly sized alliances, instead of one big one with a bunch of hanger ons. Makes it feel more "even" in the house. We shall see how it goes. Currently learning towards the alliance with Winston and Tyler, but we shall see.

I do think that Sam needs to tone it down on the lashing out. She's obviously having a hard time, but lashing out the way she does is probably not good for her game. Maybe, with her new power, she can chill out a bit.

That being said, Kaitlyn is a real piece of work with her attitude toward Sam, so no wonder Sam lashed back in the way that she did. Kaitlyn was being condescending and dismissive, acting like Sam was nothing to her, both in storage and in that quick kitchen segment. I get that Sam might be exhausting to deal with, but Kaitlyn's not in Sam's difficult situation, so her essential "suck it up, Buttercup" attitude had me annoyed. Her voice seemed like she had no patience for the robot and I smiled when Sambot made the hot tub comment about her and Fessy. I do not get good vibes about Kaitlyn. For a life coach, she doesn't seem very good at it. She seems like the type to pick and choose which clients she wants and will "fire" the clients who give her a hard time. She's not very Namaste.

People need to stop saying that I'm their boy/girl/man, for real. I'm not anyones boy/girl/man.

Swaggy is such an egoistical guy. His DRs may be scripted, but his reaction in the BB App Store wasn't. I wonder what would happen if he won a punishment. I can't imagine that happening since he keeps getting screentime, but oh how I wish it was the case.

So, Sam only has a chance to return? Let's see what that chance is. It could range from picking a ball in a box to a difficult competition.

It doesn't seem like the "+1 Life" advantage/power is much of anything. Notice how it says it gives the player a chance to get back into the house if they are evicted. And that if it's not used by the 4th eviction, the fourth evicted HG gets a chance to get back into the house. Wasn't that always going to be the case anyway? You know damn well they planned to bring someone back, so what kind of advantage is this for Sam or anyone else if they still have to compete for a chance to get back into the house? I think these "apps" are mostly bogus and meant to sound more impressive than they really are without giving anyone too much power.

I have to believe the director or whoever is talking to them in the DR is pumping them up and telling them how much "America" is going to love them and how much their "fans" are rooting for them and encouraging them to talk to their "fans" like they know there's a big fan base out there totally on their side. That's gotta be why everyone is saying "your boy" and "your girl" now, it's got to be some kind of directive to "talk to all your fans out there who are behind you 100%."

Yeah, the whole thing is pretty hinky like every other "twist" this dumb show comes up with.

I wonder if Bayleigh would have won Miss Missouri if she'd first been on TV making out in bed with some rando she just met who calls himself Swaggy. Way to represent the heartland, lady.

Funny when Robot Sam, facing away from the kitchen & backyard, was in conversation with Tyler trying to cheer her up with "Everyone is behind you," and Sam's reply upon swiveling the robot's body around was "Literally everyone is behind me, I see that."  Ha!

Bayleigh's attitude was 'do I have to listen to this?'  I think Kaitlyn contributes to the show but Bayleigh just acts like she thinks she's some queen of the house and yet is just a showmance HG.

I feel like Sam was making it too easy for people to vote her out ("She's so miserable here, she'd probably be happier if she was gone") so I hope that she DOES buck up now that she knows she has some backing. As others have said, this was a really terrible punishment to have, right at the beginning.

I was wondering if Sam goes way overboard on the hair and then after a day of it being under a welder's mask, it actually looks okay.

I know!  I think being forced into interacting so much as a robot is really skewing her feeling of self worth.  She seems to ordinarily be a fairly confident person, but being a robot and therefore so easily dismissed  as "other" is really messing with her head.  Which...is why I think sometimes she seems extra bitchy when she's a robot and so weepy when she's human.  So to get that affirmation from the fans really went straight to her heart.  I hope it gives her the extra push she needs to fight through the robot interface.

I also really appreciate that Sam uses the word "literally" nearly always correctly.  "Literally everybody is behind me now" when, yes, everyone physically present was located behind her.  I hope her little breakdown in the bedroom telling everyone they suck is just her inability to communicate her feelings appropriately, because that is not really the way to win friends and influence people, and to say that "everyone is fake" how she can't be fake herself is...disingenuous.  This is Big Brother, after all.  Nobody is real.  This robot thing really has her thrown for a loop, she just can't get her feet under her.  Being so isolated and shuffled off to "other" status has made it so she couldn't integrate, negotiate, or find her balance in the house like everyone else could.

Faysal, you are no Kaysar, that's for sure.  Good lord, what a tool.

If she is voted out she plays her power and immediately returns to the game without having to exit ever.  It is the same thing basically as the immunity idol on Survivor except with the great perk that she waits until AFTER the vote to play it so, unlike an immunity idol, she won't accidentally play it when not needed or decide not to play it when she does really need it.
