I just realized I must have FF through Austen and Victoria. I don't even remember doing it.   I know I ff through most of the Kathryn brings Shep soup part of the because I don't care about what the producers want to us to think. But now I'm curious. ..did he drain her soup? As it was ff I thought I saw him doing that lol. I already deleted it. If he did, why?

No, I think he just reheated it and put on some hot sauce. It's funny because Shep was so excited thinking Kathryn cooked her grandma's soup recipe for him while Kathryn basically confirmed in her TH that it's just canned soup.

Like I said, better actors.

I'm not a huge fan of Kathryn but thought it was kinda awesome that she sleep-eats s'mores and wakes up with chocolate on her face.

Notice Shep has almost always been wearing baseball caps lately.  Is he losing his hair and trying to cover that up?

The green American flag hat - he's selling it with a link on Instagram.  Shoulda known, right?

I hope all the bunnies around Charleston are still alive and well.  I worry about them.

I’m not sure how to explain it, but, Kathryn never seems all that maternal with her kids.  She somehow doesn’t seem like their mother.

I agree for the most part, but I attribute that to the fact that she missed some critical bonding time.  I believe that when/if her custody status changes and she spends more time with them, that should change.  I hope so anyway.

Me.  I had an outpatient procedure and was given one of those "good drugs".  After the surgery I was mesmerized by the cool bubbles in my styrofoam cup of Diet Coke and insisted that I be allowed to wear my surgical hat home.  My husband stopped at the supermarket on the way home.  As he slowed down to turn into a parking space, I shouted "I want bagels" and hopped out of the car while it was still moving. I was still wearing the cap. By the time my husband caught up with me I had FILLED the cart with bagels,, cream cheese and orange juice.  Mr. Moving put back most of the stuff and got me home.  When I went back to the store the following week, several of the store employees had big smiles on their faces and asked me if I was feeling better.

Bringing the hubs home from an OP surgery, he started searching the glove box and console, etc. for his Jimmy John's sandwich.  Was quite pissed when he couldn't find it.  (He had never before nor since had a JJ sandwich)  It was awesome.

Hate to say it, but Katherine should wear make up and ditch that ombré color and go back to auburn, especially when she’s filming. She looked totally washed out and plain compared to the other girls, who I don’t think were overly made up. I can’t believe it when people say that Ashley & Thomas are still together IRL;  he wasn’t giving her “anything”and knowing that he will probably (if he hasn’t already) be fired by Bravo should  be sending her back to California - unless she’s decided to try for Shep, Craig or Austen.

Did Kanye name his son, Saint?

His full name is St. Julien, which is a family name for the Ravenels.  He's named after a Confederate forebearer who was a physician who built a torpedo boat to attack the Union blockade.  (And my mother told me that history degree would never come in handy ...)  They just call him Saint instead of Julien or Jay or like any sane, non-famewhore parents would do.

I think the children have Kathryn's eyes, which tip up (hopefully no FAS). They look like each other. And Kathryn without makeup looks like a young Sissy Spacek.

It's like a combination of Kathryn's eyes and Thomas's undereye luggage.  I hope the kid grows into his face.  And yes, Sissy Spacek circa Carrie.

Canned soup lol, that's funny.  I give the producers credit that was probably a cute segment.  I just couldn't  sit through it. Lol.

Ah, the confederacy.  So basically he's named after someone on the losing side?  Someone who probably didn't want to be part of the US and probably believed in slavery?  Um, no.

Shep had shorts (or boxers, at least) under the gown.

Ashley cannot be for real, can she?  Every single thing that comes out of her mouth is SO FAKE.  I feel like either she and Thomas are in on it together, and he wanted a bigger storyline, or she's just chasing fame and amping up the aggrieved girlfriend storyline.  But there's no way she thinks any of this is going to endear her to the audience, is there?

Oh yeah.  You'd be surprised how many Southern males are named after Confederates.  Or rather, you wouldn't.

That had to be some of the stupidest looking BS with Shep.  We get it.  You're a clown.

As for Ashley, I think she's going for the traditional Greek drama character development arc.  She's going to "grow" and "mature" as a character and become a real boy or some shit. Or rather that was her plan before the #MeToo movement came to town.

Her complete lack of emotion is odd.  When Chelsea was talking about her stepdad in the car, Kathryn appeared to be wiping away a few tears and even then......she had an absolute, completely blank, detached look on her face.  It's the same when she's with the kids.  Poor Kensie seems devoid of any connection to her, like, "who the heck are you"?

If they even attempt to go down the path of a Kathryn/Shep storyline, it will be fake, fake, fake.  Shep would never go for a baggage ridden woman like Kathryn.  I'm kind of on board with the line of thinking that he will marry in his mid-40's or 50's and pop out a few kids.  But even though he's been a total and utter man-whore, I think his choice of a wife would be a young (of course, young) woman who's kept certain "activities" to a minimum :-) I think he views women with a Madonna/whore filter.

I'm confused by Chelsea's timeline in Hilton Head.  She said she hasn't lived there in 25 years but then was talking about being 8 years old and living in the stepdad's house when he passed away.  Is she 33???  I thought she was way younger.

I'm sorry but Kathryn looks just like a Chucky doll with this hairdo and when she isn't wearing any make-up.

Yes she is 32/33 - a couple years younger than Cam.

Now what I'm confused about is her dad.  She made it sound like he wasn't in the picture at all back when her step-dad died.  Yet, they seemed to have a pretty good relationship now, based on that scene together.  I'm curious how that all played out...

Well, Shep and Kathryn hooked up pre-season 1, so there is an attraction there. But I don't think either of them could keep a straight face for a showmance.  And what's with the hot sauce in the soup? Doesn't that ruin it?

The birthday party was cute, except Katherine's fancy white top had a finger paint splotch by the end of the party. Hmm, finger painting, pizza, chocolate cake? What should I put my two-year old boy in? A white dress shirt? And I'll wear a extra-floaty sleeved white top too! Perfect.

When Ashley was walking down the sidewalk with the Jimmy John's it felt very much like she was showing up for filming. I think Thomas likes having her stowed away in an apartment.

I thought so too. Losing your home and your bed at a young age and having your mom work three jobs all of a sudden produces a different mindset than Shep or Whitney's lives where it's all financial smooth sailing and fun, fun, fun.  I continue to like Chelsea. She also seems like she's more fun than Victoria.

I like her too.  She seems the most real and down-to-earth to me.  She also seems the kindest one out of all the women on the show, maybe with the exception of Liz--but she hasn't really been featured much this season (not that I blame her).

Chelsea told her father that she wasn't interested in settling down. Too bad we can't see her living her real life - the fake dating is beyond banal.

What was fake?  Do you have scoop that her relationship with Austen was fake?

Not entirely fake, but not as serious as they're showing it to be, or claiming that it was. They didn't last for a month after that Christmas ball during last season's finale. Waaaaaaayyyy broken up already even before the show started last season in April.

But it's true though that they stopped being friends for awhile when Austen started getting handsy with Victoria.

The party venue was weird right? Like what kind of place is that?

I'm sure Ashley is acting after seeing this episode.  Badly acting.

Its a kids play space. They are popular among the mom set because you can host playdates without having to clean up before or after your kid has company. Also good for the non-custodial parent with supervised visits. Public and lots of witnesses.

When he was first born, I remember Kathryn calling him Saint and T-Rav calling him Julien. I guess somewhere along the way they realized they needed to call this poor kid the same name and somehow Saint won out. I agree I would have just named the child Julien in the first place. The irony of these two having a child named Saint isn’t lost on me; it’s like two porn stars having a girl named Chastity.

You did see him draining it, CWW. He overfilled his bowl to the rim but instead of just pouring some of it back in the pot, they drained off some of the broth. Shep didn’t want to lose the noodles and carrots because they’re good for his eyesight. Aren’t you sorry you missed that scintillating tidbit? Lol.

I think he will, Kensie looked similar when she was that age and now is quite cute, IMO.

All the examining of Kathryn with her kids (or anyone with their kids) makes me sad. Of course her interactions are stilted, there's a camera crew following them around, in what looks to be a smallish apartment.  I expect Cameran will be similar when she's filmed with her baby, full of awkward chatter.

The whole thing with Chelsea & the house felt very fake to me. Like she was trying too hard to show some depth.

Ashley continues to show her true colors and wow are they ugly.

But Kathryn, due to her own choices, will always, always, always be under a microscope.  No one will ever give her credit for anything and will look for any slight reason to chastise her.

As I wrote earlier, I am rooting for her to succeed.  The best revenge is success.

I saw it exactly the opposite.  I actually felt those emotions, and could totally imagine how the death of her (not)stepdad totally derailed her family, due to the fact that her mom could lay no claim to his estate.  That looked like a very nice home in a probably expensive area, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I didn’t quite understand the scene with Chelsea driving to the house she “grew up in” with her step-dad. The others in the car seemed confused about it too. Was this to give us more background about Cheltsie? Or what? I do like her and like that she loves where she came from and was happy to introduce her “friends” to her home place as was Shep. And good for them. Of course, Shep’s home/growing up/experiences there were very different from hers but they were both still proud. Please, please make Ashley go away. Far away. What a poser!! Thomas, I’m ashamed that you tried to force this faker on us. Shame, shame.

That's too bad.  Especially since I am convinced Thomas is a drug addict and has been most of his life.  I am convinced he was her source.  My mom has photos of her being pregnant with all 3 of us just before her due dates sitting at a bar drinking and smoking.  Very pre-weknowbetternow.  Back in the early 90s a had a friend whose doctor prescribed her 2 glasses of wine a day up to going in for the birth.  I don't think she told him her wine glasses were fishbowls.

Shep/Kathryn/soup - She probably did what a lot of people do and just take your container to a restaurant and have them fill it and pay for it.  Nothing wrong with that.

I'm sure they filmed a lot of scenes which don't make the show.  So when they're in HH, the producers probably came up with the idea of them driving by her old neighborhoods.  Since the filming crew is going to have to set up inside Chelsea's car as well as to trail it, it was probably their ideas.

Especially if they had to get clearance or a filming permit from local government to film on those streets.

Good way to fill in 2-3 minutes in the show.

Haha. No I'm not sorry but enjoyed you recapping it. I thought I saw him straining it. I started to watch the scene  when Kathryn walked with soup and thought, oh ffs I can't. But tried not to ff too fast because if I'm not paying attention I skip whole portions of these people  and their  lives lol.

He looks awful this season. What on earth happened to him? I thought he was decent looking the first few seasons. He's not even 40 and already going downhill. Didn't he joke a few weeks ago that he wasn't "that drunk" when he broke his nose? Buddy, when you start getting bruises and breaks from your drunken antics, it's time to stop drinking. It's not helping your looks either.

Plus, there are so many bright lights with the camera crew following them around. I have never believed that the children should be filmed on reality shows. I always feel like it is a violation of their privacy because even if they are older kids, they still have no say in how they are portrayed. I especially hate it in this circumstance because the kids don't have a say in whether or not they are filmed. I feel the same way about teenage kids on reality shows though, so it may just be a thing I have.

Well, fuck me to tears.  Adults on display are fair game.  Children?  Not so much.  Speculation about a toddler, their development or lack thereof?  Gross.

Ya know, if their parents didn't want random comments about their children, they wouldn't put them on tv, right?  You must understand that.  And I think you do.  And I stand by my comments.  A two year old is way too old for a bottle.  Talk about tooth rot.....

I don't feel Ashley is authentic at all. At best, she's putting on show for the cameras to ensure her place for coming seasons, in which case, I see her of someone of little character willing to sacrifice her own reputation for some reality TV show fame. At worst, this is actually who she is, no faking, in which she case, she's a certified bitch.

I felt for Chelsea listening to her story. Though the way she spoke about her step father, I didn't get the impression that her approach to relationships is due to the trauma she experienced of losing her step father. My first guess would be that he was such a good man to her, that it's shaped her expectations of what a partner should be and the kind of man that she wants for herself. And while she may have a hard time finding that, it's not a bad thing to have standards that can set you up for happiness with someone long term.

For some reason, I thought Chelsea and Victoria's 'friendship' was more like casual acquaintances, not actual friends. I don't know how I missed all of the references of their friendship and seeing the old pictures of the two hanging out - it's hard for me to believe that Victoria didn't know that Chelsea and Austen were a thing or had some semblance of the fact that Chelsea was really into him. She seems like a shitty friend. Chelsea should cut her losses with both of them. Of course be civil, but don't give Austen all of that attention.
