The nine remaining bachelorettes visit the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Nick learns the details of a dark-haired beauty's heartbreaking life. Later, a group date with six ladies goes terribly wrong and a two-on-one outing sends Nick's journey into a tailspin.

So last week I read a lot of you mentioning a Whitney. I had no clue who Whitney was until she wasn't sent home. She is beautiful. She must have no personality if we've never heard her speak. But I'm guessing that I may have always mistaken her for Vanessa. Yet, I THINK we're finally down to that point where I can recognize and name everyone. Challenge (to myself) accepted...

Lorna is St Thomas's answer to Raquel! Ha!

Kristina is one of 9 kids; Nick is one of 11, I think? Oh, hell no! Can you imagine the holidays?! How would you even manage to entertain that many siblings...plus spouses and nieces/nephews?! She's giving her sob story, but I couldn't get past the family sizes to focus on that.

Jasmine, I'm with you, girl! I put you down in my Bachelor league weekly picks as the next to get a 1:1, so I'm just as disappointed as you are that you didn't get it. Nevermind. You are way more disappointed than I am about it--trying to hit Nick and then pushing Corrine down instead, which is like when your kid does something "bad" and you secretly think it's funny but you need to stifle your smirk and give your best stern look instead. Wait, now Vanessa and Danielle are ALSO crying, and Rachel is threatening leaving, so I take it back again. EVERYONE is disappointed about this date. Everyone was so happy in Wisconsin! Remember whoooooooing through the airport?! Good times! The Virgin Islands are so depressing! Boo, sparkling Caribbean waters!! Whoa, Jas, noooooooooo! Stop! As if all this crying, rambling ultimatum with no leverage wasn't bad enough, then she threatens to choke him and then fixates on choking him as if he'll think this is hot. She does NOT know how to read his body language/face/response AT ALL. Too bad Taylor is gone; Jasmine really could have used an emotional intelligence intervention/crash course.

Damn, another Bachelor Pool question I got wrong--already 4 women sent home and we still have another 2:1! I also guessed St. Croix. This is my worst week yet. It's rough times for Bachelor Family AND Bachelor Nation. Milwaaaaaaaaukeeeeeee, how we miss the innocence of those simpler days!

I can tell already he's going to leave both of these girls on this bed in the middle of nowhere, just like with Kelsey and...whoever was with Kelsey...maybe Ashley I? Oh, he actually kept Danielle! I don't know why! He didn't seem like he's into her at all anymore. Maybe they told him since he already spontaneously sent Jasmine home he had to keep one of these two. Union regulation to have a RC so Harrison can get paid to say "this is the final rose." No, it's because production already paid for this prison date. It would have been funnier if he just went on this date by himself or maybe brought Harrison along for a guys' night out.

"Adventurous and raw"?! Damn! I got every single Bachelor league question wrong! Only one I got right was there was no hot tub...yet. But, I just noticed the rose is still there and we're going into a commercial with awkward music, so he IS going to still send her home! ... [commercial, commercial...] ok! So I got something right! Too bad there was no poll question/points on that one!

Aaaaaand everyone is crying. But, fear not, next week Corrine's platinum vagine will bring Nick back from the brink of despair and fix everything!

Well, that was a train wreck. I think I need therapy after that shit storm.

Did they even show Raven getting the group date rose? I might have missed it during Jasmine threatening to choke Nick and the volleyball fiasco.

Do they give the contestants scripts to read?  I swear they all say, "I think I'm falling in love with you/being open and honest....blah blah blah.  I thought Nick looked downright bored this week.  I think for as great a location it was the group date was bizarre.  Girls playing volleyball while he watched?  Why not just take them all shopping on the island instead?

He did the right thing in who he sent home.  I'm guessing his favorites threatened to bolt if he didn't give them some sign he wanted them there.

Poor Danielle L. Sorry, D.Lo.

Is there normally this much emotion/crying on The Bachelor? Because damn. Everybody was having a breakdown. Jasmine absolutely lost her mind. It was almost scary to watch.

Also, I'm starting to think my personal favorite Raven is too good for Nick. (I'm actually starting to think ALL of them are too good for him...) I adore her. I hope she does well whatever the result of this trainwreck of a show.

How many more weeks can this possibly be on? Nick is running through women at an alarming rate.

Corinne and her platinum vajine...*barfs forever*

DLo was way too boring for Nick.

I was way impressed with Kristina tonight. I liked her from the beginning. Ultimately, I could really see Nick with her.

I still cannot figure out why all the girls were crying on the group date......did I miss something?

Raven is still up there as a favorite, she is the only one who wasn't whiny on that date.

Nick is an intelligent guy and I think these young shallow girls eventually bore him.

I have the exact opposite opinion. I think Danielle would be bored by Nick.

The word "intelligent never crosses my mind when I watch Nick on tv.  I actually think he is keeping some women who are too good for him. The lawyer from Houston and the teacher from Cananada come to mind. (I can never remember names, but can remember occupations for some reason).

That stupid skit where they brought in the woman to help out and Corinne used her as her nanny really fell flat. If they insist on bringing in one of those "hated" cartoon like players, at least cast someone witty and entertaining.

This show is so confusing. One minute I'm enjoying myself, mocking the fakeness and making clever, snarky comments to my husband who is playing on his phone and not even pretending to watch. The next minute someone is telling a genuinely terrible story about childhood trauma and I'm ashamed of myself! And the next minute I'm feeling that German word for vicarious embarrassment while grown women show poor sportsmanship during a beach volleyball game.

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME, SHOW???

I cried a genuine tear for the first time ever while watching this show - Christina's story is so sad and so fascinating. I love when they actually talk about real stuff.  Just...damn. I hope she's just doing this as an experience thing for fun and not because she believes in the hype. Is that wrong reasons? To see this show as a vacation adventure?

Jasmine was a hot f-ing mess. I had to fast forward I was so embarrassed for her.

ETA: IMO, things seemed to go better with Corinne in the house because there are actually mature people left. Danielle M, Rachel, Vanessa and Christina all seem like actual grown ups. Maybe Corrine decided to rise up and chill.

Jasmine, Jasmine, Jasmine. Jeez girl, settle down. Did you see Nick looking off to the side at the camera crew during his time with her? They probably had to cut out him mouthing the word "help!"

I was left wondering if I'd missed something during the volleyball game o'tears. Why did everyone sit separately and look into the waves? I mean, I really dislike volleyball too, but not to the point where I have sit alone and stare off into space, recovering from what I've just been through.

Christina's story was rough. I think Nick has to end up marrying her now, because how can he hurt her after what she'd been through? And D. Low's D. Parture was what makes this show must-see tv.

Of course they didn't focus on it, but you could see Corinne genuinely getting along with the other women, especially Rachel!

My main takeaway from the beach date was that all the girls had really hideous swimsuits.

Kristina is my new fave... Vanessa has gotten a little too whiny and miserable for me lately.

Nick is really intelligent, it's easy to see that. I think he's the best bachelor so far.

It seems like Rachel is trying to set herself up to be the next bachelorette. Can't tell if she's actually into Nick or not.

Whitney reminds me exactly of a brunette Lauren Bushnell, both in looks and personality.

Josephine looked so pretty in the rose ceremony! That was the least transvestitey I've seen her appear.

I didn't mind Corinne this episode and she seemed really appreciative and friendly towards Lorna, which I liked.

I am just giving up.  I can't get invested in Nick and his mumbling, or any of the girls.  It is painfully obvious that they like each other more than they like Nick.  It is kind of like a lot of real relationships, you feel like you have to see it through because you've invested time in it and you don't want to give up on your "investment," but  you really don't care about the actual relationship deep down.   I think Vanessa and Rachel are just competitive and things have to make logical sense to them.  For them, I think it is I came this far and invested time in it, so I need to see it through, but I get the feeling it is more about that than a feeling of I actually want to be with NIck.  I think they are fine if that happens, but they would be just as ok if it did not.

I think that is my problem with the show, it is so obvious that a lot of girls are thinking about the publicity, ring, free wedding, tv shows, etc. that go along with being with the Bachelor more than they are the feelings that go along with being with the Bachelor.  It has to be easy to convince yourself you are in love when you have millions of people so called "invested" in your happiness and you can say , "look at me!" to your friends, family and assorted strangers.  At 20 something, or heck even 30 something that has to be a rush.

I didn't see what happened with Taylor, missed both the one on one with Kristina and the two on one.  Unfortunately I only saw the end and the miserable volleyball date with terrible editing.  It was not clear why everyone was so miserable with people wanting to leave, which was just weird .  Then all the whining about competing about time....isn't that what the show is about?  Did they not watch the show before they came?  The day looked overcast  so maybe that had something to do with it.  Nick's crying at the end only solidified to me everything about him that I find unappealing.    Jasmine always annoyed me and it was painfully obvious he has no interest in her, so I am only sorry that I missed her breakdown.  Apparently from the comments Nick has several violent girls this season who think the answer is to choke or hit people.   Nick continues to remind me of a creepy porn producer around Corrinne and she clearly thinks drinking is the way out.  I don't even recognize a lot of the girls that were left.

Last year it was I've lost my family and don't know who is alive, I missed the "tragic" story this year.  I can't figure out what is wrong with me. I grew up sneaking my mother's Harlequin Romance novels.  The Bachelor has never struck a romantic bone in my body, even with the exotic locales, etc.  I would see the commercials and just be annoyed, and now trying to watch it I am even more annoyed, with the Bachelor and with the women who came on here.  I don't want to see any of them with Nick, but honestly, one minute you are so heartbroken over the Bachelor and the next you are ready to be on the Bachelorette sucking face with 20+ other men.  This show mocks everything I feel about real romance.  Everything just feels forced and I don't know if it is like this every year, or just this year.

Rachel has some of the most ill fitting shorts I have ever seen.   She would have really earned my respect (both she and Vanessa) if just ONE of them had followed through on the idea to leave.

Danielle L. is one of the dumbest people I've ever watched on television. And I watch a lot of television.

Nick immediately regretted keeping her once he actually sat down to have a conversation with her. That was hilarious.  The look on his face.  It was like his face kept crumpling further with every sentence she spoke.

Jasmine's brain absolutely breaking was a sight to behold.  All of that talk of strangling, and choking, and actually mimicking it on him.  Hahahaaaaaa. She talked about choking a LOT.  I hope that she was drunk?  Otherwise..... Also including if she was drunk.... Both ways.  It was scary and her subconscious has some explaining to do.  Haha.

Whitney is one gorgeous woman!

Alexis and Nick breaking up was like a real breakup.  They had some kind of chemistry even though Nick didn't see himself with her long-term.  Alexis REALLY got along with him.  That was fascinating because when I watch a show like this I suspect so little is real, but Alexis liking and getting along with Nick was something real.  I'm probably reading way too much into their fuck buddy chemistry, just like poor Alexis.  Sigh.

All things considered, and with the exception of Corinne (<insert your own commentary>), the remaining 5 women all seem to have good depth of character. I wonder if that's what caused Nick's breakdown -- a realization that he actually had an opportunity with 5 quality women.

Jasmine was a mess. Whitney looked stone-faced. I had no idea what Danielle L was talking about most of the time. The bummer of a beach volleyball date was reminiscent of the lack of fun during Ben's Bahamas date with the pigs. Poor Raven, holding the volleyball, after everyone had run off to cry alone.

Bring on more women like Kristina, who have a real story to tell.

Anyone else think the bit with the nanny was a bit ... insulting? Not sure that's the word, but something about seeing Corinne pampered - as a schtick - rubbed me the wrong way.

Nick actually seemed sad to see Alexis go. She was fun, and I wish they showed more of her interaction with Nick. I missed seeing her in the closing credits.

Yes it does matter when black women have a history of taking care of white pampered princesses.  And its would be one thing if it was just her delivering her food but she was fixing her towel behind her too.

Time to utilize the forum’s graphics function and attach the Nick Flag displayed upside down to indicate ship in distress:

nick.png

(PS – the overgrown hall monitors at the old TWOP forum once admonished me for posting a screencap.  ‘Follow the rules!  No pictures!’ she barked.  I checked the rules.  There were none against posting pictures.  Some people miss TWOP.  I don’t.  Especially their killjoy pedantic mods who obsessed over ‘boards on boards’ to the exclusion of all else.)

Nick is blue.  Nick is sad.  Nick is confused.  Nick is the kid pouting that the new bicycle he received on Christmas morning has white reflectors instead of yellow ones.  The more beautiful and exotic the setting, the worse Nick feels.  Alas!  Poor widdle fing!

Taylor performs the exeunt she deserved last time but not before screwing her face into an even more bizarre gargoyle imitation.  Can this girl grump or what?  The Bachelor franchise reaches another milestone with its 1,000th red herring edit.  Fair play to the lads and lasses in the editing suite for misleading the audience so consistently.

A carriage ride with 10 rivals is ‘so romantic?’  Josephine is still there?  Nick treats her the way we treated the box for our coffee maker:  we kept it around for no good reason for far too long.  It was never going to be touched again.  Alexis says it’s ‘so EMOSHUNULLLLL.’  It’s hard to believe that so many are pushing for this pile of boring nothingness to be the next Bachelorette.  3rd graders obsessed with various marine species are cute.  Adults obsessed with them are boring and likely lack actual adult interests.  Insert ‘shallow’ pun here.

Nick is fast becoming what Hitchcock referred to as the ‘macguffin’ in films:  a unseen/mysterious object the characters pursued ie merely a plot device.  They want to win but they’re not sure why and getting less sure with each passing minute.

If tide charts help us anticipate nature’s rhythms, then we can anticipate Jasmine’s activities:  if she’s awake she’s complaining.  Again.  No sense in mentioning her again below in the usual chronological fashion.  She comprehensively bitched her way home.  The less said about her offer to choke Nick – or anyone else – the better.  Her demise was never in doubt but she plumbed new depths of bizarre.

All that time and trouble to get to St Thomas only to have the 1-on-1 date fly away to…St John.  To be fair, I’ve been to both and St John is by far the more serene, secluded island (also smaller).  The hotel for the bachelorettes is right on the harbor – the backgrounds in almost all the St Thomas shots reveal they didn’t wander far from the harbor at all (budget alert!).

Kristina finally gets her chance to shine.  Kristina made up:  gorgeous.  Kristina in ‘natural’ makeup:  still gorgeous.  Even Eeyore Nick notices.  Finally, someone has a ‘tell me about yourself story’ that is intense, detailed and unique.  Kristina’s dark eyes are fascinating but they often don’t smile along with her…there is some serious hurt there along with a survival instinct to constantly scan for threats.  Understandable.  Her eyes follow the well-earned rose like missile tracking radar.

Dancing with a tall(er) girl is tricky, but so is dancing with a short(er) one.  When the girl must constantly crane her neck back to see her partner’s face any chance for graceful movement is off the table for both.  Such was the unwieldly stance for Nick & Kristina.  Steel drums are ace but did we need the white-clad hordes of dancers?

It must be said:  Nick was more intrigued by Kristina’s orphanage story than he was by her bikini-clad body wrapped around him in the surf.  This is one strange cat with a libido that seems virtually nonexistent.  Is it possible we can get an emergency transfusion of testosterone from a Brad Womack?  There are various rotor and fixed-wing aircraft available to transport it from the mainland.

Raven’s evening wardrobe has been praised by many but her mismatched bikini was frightful, especially the frumpy, crepe-y bottoms from the Annette Funicello Beach Blanket Bingo collection.

Whatever happened to the Bachelor involving himself in the contests as the girls ‘fought’ over him as a teammate?  There are already two (!) islanders serving as referees for this volleyball shambles, why is Nick standing there like a scarecrow?  Memo to Nick:  this isn’t the Olympics.  The winner of the match is unimportant.  You’re meant to be interacting with them.

‘Where is Corinne’s head?’ asks Danielle M.  Why, it’s where it usually is, Dani:  at about 0.15 BAC.  Vanessa is grinding her teeth so furiously that her molars may flatten out.  The ladies are in various states of drunkenness, exhaustion, and heat stress.  They are sick of playing giddy schoolgirl and buyer’s remorse wallops them all simultaneously:  Nick really isn’t worth the effort.  It’s rare for this much actual reality to sneak into Reality TV but the producers had precious little to work with this episode despite the stunning USVI location.

Corinne gives an excellent visual lesson in why hygrometers were originally designed using blonde human hair:  hers is frizzed out past the Tropic of Cancer.  Say what you like about daddy’s little business tycoon princess but when there is a free hotel bathtub, pool or spa on offer she doesn’t miss a trick.  Why not relax instead of stressing out?  Good on her.

Whitney & Danielle L are airlifted away in the Legs vs Bust battle royale.  Whitney never stood a chance, poor thing.  Fair dues to the forumite here who noted that Danielle L had all her sales patter memorized and then…dumpeditoutinonelongsentence.  Her salon banter is quite advanced:  she can make the mundane sound somewhat appealing and interesting.  A few of her cheesecake modeling photos have surfaced since this season began.  It’s all about the PR for this LA-savvy self-promoter and I don’t say that in a critical way.  She knows what’s she’s after and it really isn’t Nick.  She was ‘falling in love’ with him in the same way that I will become U2’s new guitarist.  No chance.

Nick stares at the floor talking to Whitney.  Nick stares at the floor talking to Danielle L.  Not even Danielle’s assets can wrest his attention away from his shoelaces.  Nick displays every symptom of someone who conducts most of his human interaction through tablet and phone.  I think the word ‘disrespectful’ has been worn threadbare through overuse but it applies here.  At least have the decency to feign interest in what someone might – MIGHT – be telling you from the heart.

Danielle L may be the least distressed surprise reject we’ve seen.  She musters up a few inauthentic tears but is clearly plotting her next move.  She’s a dead certainty for Bachelor In Paradise but with her cosmopolitan looks and hot bod she has to be the new favorite for The Bachelorette.

The porter comes to the suite to reclaim another bag.  Kristina’s hands cover her face not out of surprise but because she’s grinning like a jack o’lantern.  The rest do an unconvincing job of acting surprised and distressed.

Fantastic pep talk, Eeyore Nick!  Sniffle, whimper, pout.  You’ve really got their interest piqued now!  What a catch you truly are!  They don’t know whether to follow you to your room or to jump off the balcony onto the rocks below!

Actually, let’s qualify that:  Corinne knows.  And she’s following Nick to his room.  She’s putting on the stripper heels and the slinky outfit.  Lord love a duck, Corinne has ‘sex abilities!’  Whatever they are.  No doubt they make a good match with her ‘intelligency.’

Next week:  more whining from Nick at the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that have put a bevy of attractive women on a plate for him with the courtship paid for by someone else.  It’s the MOST DEPRESSING SEASON OF THE BACHELOR EVER!

Well, it is black history month.  I guess that is why they were at a plantation/haunted house showing voodoo in a city that has so much to offer.   It would then follow that they would go to an island where poor people make a living  out of working on resorts to pamper people who are not so poor.  Luckily this is just  another scene I missed.  Overall I have been bored with what I've seen of the show.

By the way, I was really sick last week, but via my BFF, clips, etc. I can't say how thankful I feel to have missed Corrinne's apparent constant name calling of Taylor.  I don't approve of that kind of talk and from what I understand it was overkill.

I am also confused. Everything I read indicated Nick and Rachel had a great week, but this week she was talking as if they had never had a one on one date and/or he had not affirmed an interest in her?

I do respect your point and see where you're coming from. As a woman of color myself, I didnt see it that way, but I know that's just my opinion.

The women he kept and the ones he sent home all made perfect sense to me according to what we've been shown. I think it's odd that there are always ones who think they have this close relationship with the lead (Taylor and Whitney) when clearly they don't. You could always argue that they have time with him and we're just not shown everything but the producers know who the final ones are and edit accordingly. Honestly if I had been Jasmine I think I would have willingly went home. That far in the game with no 1 on 1 or date rose I think they should clearly see the writing on the wall.

Thankfully Kristina has had a group date rose or I would be more worried about her this late in the game. She is beautiful and her story had me in tears. The more I see of her the more I like her. She is one of just a few that I wouldn't mind being the next b'ette.

Nick had a physical attraction to Danielle L initially which is why I think she got a early 1 on 1 but the more he developed stronger bonds with the others her overuse of "like" and that nervous giggle really stood out in my opinion.

Put me down as one who also noticed how much more Corrine was getting along with the others. But then she does her little "platinum vagine" spiel next week so it will probably be back to square one as I'm sure the others will not like that at all. And you can be sure they will find out as the producers will make sure of that.

What the hell did they put in those shots?  Did I miss a scene where the girls were told the losing team would have to sacrifice a baby goat?  Everyone was out of their mind.

Psst Jasmine...if a guy is visibly terrified and angling his body away from you as much as possible, I don't think he wants you to pretend choke him.  I realize you may have been blinded by your veil of drunkeness, but Nick was about one second away from shouting "SECURITY!"

I think the majority of Corrine's shtick is a producer- encouraged act.  She's probably immature (she's on,y 24 after all) and enjoys the attention her "bad girl" act is garnering, but I don't see any evidence that she's a bad person.  She probably has her share of good points and likable qualities.

I am pretty sure Lorna's  job at the hotel does not entail "fluffing" a grown woman's towel while she's laying on it or steaming her wrinkled clothes.   And I'm sure there was a bar where guests fetch their own drinks.   That hotel was four star at most.

The  show thought it would be cute to watch Corrine have "the help" wait on her.  It wasn't.

Exactly and then she compared the woman to her personal nanny I rolled my eyes so hard. I'm sure it is not in Lorna's job description to do all the above and beyond she was doing for Corrine.

Watching Danielle L. articulate why she was "falling in love" with Nick was embarrassing. She basically recited every cliche from every romantic comedy ever. She reminds me of me when I 12 years old writing notes to my "boyfriend" of 3 days. She is just an airhead.

This was the most joyless episode of The Bachelor in recent memory. It's like the women on the volleyball date had the collective epiphany that Nick wasn't worth competing for. I think Nick has picked up that the ladies aren't into him (D.Lo's profession of love was ever so insincere), hence the tearful angst post-date.

Kristina, дорогая, you are so much better than this show. Use your survivor instinct and do something more worthwhile with your life.

I somehow related to Jasmine's meltdown because I think the pressure of this show would make me crack, too, especially if your ego is taking a big hit every day (and the 24/7 "togetherness". Even sharing a bed, not just a room! That's tough, if you're a person who needs quiet time and space and get stressed out when you don't get it.

I'm surprised they don't ask Nick for more advice about dealing with it. He likes to be "the helper". I thought he was trying to get into that conversation (twice) by telling Danielle that she wasn't supposed to be having a good time on the 2 on 1, "That's not the purpose of it." Good point! But she didn't listen.

He looked very concerned when she said she was falling in love. I wondered if it reminded him of what it was like to be led on and so he dumped her ASAP.

I also thought she might have been onto something when she said, "I wonder if it's because I'm not  perfect".  I thought Kaitlyn was obviously far from perfect, but Nick might have seen otherwise, in the early "infatuation/chase" stage that some men do better with than actual relationships. I don't like ANdi's personality, but I could see how--when she wanted to impress--she could be charming, as well as beautiful and pretty good with conversation, which I think helps keep nick's interest.  Maybe he IS one of those men who likes the illusion..and the chase...more than the "having" where it's easy to be bored.

And just one final thing about the stupid group date. They didn't want to play volleyball, so why play volleyball? Why not go in the water or build a sand castle or whatever, while everyone too turns taking a walk alone with Nick?  I couldn't believe how passive they were---no one insisting that he play volleyball with them. Or have a short rally and the winner gets time together. Or play "Prisoner" and the last girl standing gets special one-on-one time.. Or.... jeez. Something. Anything.

I know that I'm a bit of a bitch, but when I saw Nick crying I would have been so turned off I would have popped up and left, right after I had a few more rum drinks with the girls.

I looked at Whitney standing on that beach, and thought "You're young, single, pretty and in a tropical paradise. Go enjoy yourself!" Then when Danielle L was booted, I figured she could find Whitney and together they could go looking for hot, tan, age-appropriate guys to party with!

Aaaaaand everyone is crying. But, fear not, next week Corrine's platinum vagine will bring Nick back from the brink of despair and fix everything!

This show has gone from "Save us from Corinne" to "Save us Corinne! Use your platinum vagine to right this sinking ship!" Oh deer gahd...

I know!! It was like "No we have this court reserved for 2-4 and we can do nothing but play volleyball! Hey, you, over there, no interacting with the Bachelor this is a GROUP date!" It was painful. Were I Nick I'd have said okay guys we don't have to play volleyball, everyone gets a 10 minute walk on the beach! But I guess he's not allowed to deviate from the set up task, which is ridiculous as that thing went down. in. flames.

Once more, in her honor/memory I say... 'There's a Whitney?'

And two words of advice for Nick in dealing with Jasmine... Restraining Order.

There really are a lot of women that cannot 'read the room' from professing your love when he's give you 'just not that into you' vibes to 'affectionate choking'.

What. A. Mess.

During the evening part of the 2-1, when it was just DLo... I thought Nick seemed drunk.  Even during the date he had to struggle to get the words out.

And he definitely has a pattern:  whenever a woman who isn't one of his front-runners expresses that she might be falling in love or at least has strong feelings for him... then she's sent home.  Immediately.

I'm by no means a love guru, but I'm fairly certain that trying to choke a guy is not the best way to get him to fall in love with you.

Danielle L: very beautiful, but boring as hell.  This girl speaks as if she's a young teen.
Vanessa: pretty, but didn't stand out.  However, given the chemistry during her 1-on-1 date with Nick in a past episode, I would say she has a good chance at "winning."

Rachel: I really like her.  She's mature, intelligent and is handling the stress of the competition well.

Josephine: I have no idea how she lasted this long.

Taylor:  the "confrontation" was not nearly as dramatic as the previews made it appear to be.

Alexis (Shark Girl): I'll miss her entertaining interactions with Nick, but I'm not surprised he eliminated her.  They have great chemistry as friends, but he clearly wasn't attracted to her.  She's a pretty girl, but she looks so much older than 23.

Corinne: I think she's immature, but I think she'll grow out of it by her late 20s.  She is definitely spoiled, but I do like that she was polite and appreciative towards Lorna.  Many pampered princesses treat anyone who serves them as if they were dirt on the bottom of their shoe.  Corinne was at least nice.  That counts for something I guess.

Jasmine: she's either a REALLY good actress or she lost her damn mind on television.  I'm leaning towards the latter.  She should've told Nick that she feels like he's completely ignoring her and is clearly not interested in her.  Then she should've left.  At least then she would've left with her dignity intact.

The Kristina date was a reminder of how this show used to be--not terribly exciting, but a little more genuine and therefore more interesting. I would date Kristina. I know I'm not going out on a limb there. A few times while Kristina was speaking, Nick had this guilty/nervous look on his face that seemed to say, "Oh no, I feel bad, this woman is actually being genuine, whereas nearly everything about this show is a sham."

yes, years ago this show was the real deal and you actually saw relationships forming....Im thinking about season 1 and alex and shannon and their relationship was very dramatic and she didnt even want to kiss him...her being so offended by the fantasy suite card....I guess with the advent of all the spin offs and social media people want to come on and play a character and hope that they become famous. I guess im all in as ive watched every season but wow it is painful at times. I remember when the date cards were a mystery as to who would get one, now its so obvious everything is producer related.

I was so happy jasmine was sent home last nite....she was even more annoying than Corrine. She seemed to feel that as long as she had a one on one date with nick that that would give her the confirmation she needed and she would be ok the rest of the show. Me personally, If I had one on one time and got closer to the lead I would find it incredibly painful to watch him with others. Im always amazed at how supposedly they are all interested in the same guy and yet they comfort each other when theyre upset about him. its so strange!!

I've been quite bored with this season so far and haven't paid as much attention to the episodes as I normally do. But this episode I started to feel slightly more interested because Nick was having actual conversations with some of the women - a refreshing change from the numerous makeout sessions and superficial banter that usually occurs.

I like that Nick is asking the women about themselves and really wanting to know more about them and what makes them tick. And I'm actually starting to believe him when he says that he really wants to settle down with someone (wow, didn't see that coming!).

Jasmine: Yikes! ***insert Ron Burgundy "well, that escalated quickly" meme here***

Danielle L: She seems like a nice enough person but I don't think she would hold Nick's interest for very long. The incessant use of the word "like" isn't helping matters.

Kristina seems interesting. At this point I feel like Nick is making very few real connections with these women. I think he's truly only interested in a couple of them, Vanessa and Kristina.

Crying Nick walking into the room with all the women after freshly giving both Danielle L and Whitney the boot was bizarre and unnecessary. He was basically telling them he's not sure if any of them are good enough to settle down with. Ouch!

It truly is.  I try to suspend disbelief and roll with the show's premise, but last night's fiasco was just one long reminder of what a messed up idea this whole thing is.  A bunch of pretty young women throwing themselves at the same man without a shred of indication that he's actually interested just isn't natural.  Women competing against other women in a format that forces physical comparisons because we don't know much else about them is not interesting.  Nice women like Rachel giving the competition tips on how to win the prize?  Also not natural.

No wonder Dominique lost her mind.  She has been going through life as the striking young woman who enters the room and all the men stop and stare and any dumb thing she does, like try to choke some guy, gets wows and laughter, because she is a pro-sports dancer so she must be really hot!

Nick is not really into any of that.  He prefers to stroke legs and cry and mumble in the corner with girls.  If it makes the macho guys crazy that his shtick is working, all the better.  He is the last kind of guy who really wants to be chased by a bunch of women declaring their love when they haven't even talked to him.

On the other hand Nick has no interest in doing the work of drawing out a Whitney.  He'll just roll around with Corinne and cry his way to the end when he wont really be in love with any of these women, because this isn't the right scenario for him to fall in love.

My unpopular opinion is I really wish Kristina either wasn't cast or didn't tell her story.  I can take dead husband stories and " a tree fell on my friend," stories, but her story just  ripped my heart out, so that I just wanted to go cry somewhere. Too much for this shallow show. I want them to cast women who are somewhere in between total bimbo and gut wrenchingly sad.
