I think since Spurge was born. Jessa was pregnant with Spurge when Izzy was born, and Henry was the next baby to be born after Spurge.

Right, there was a momentary lull of 6 months in 2016, when no one was pregnant. Izzy, Meredith and Spurge were all born in 2015. Henry, Sam and Mason, 2017. Gideon, Garret and baby girl Vuolo, 2018.

2019 might prove to be a big year, conceivably (lol) they all could be pregnant again before 2018 ends, including Lauren and Abby, although I doubt Kendra or Jinger will be pregnant again so soon.

I'm thinking Joy and Lauren are already pregnant.

I was absent the day they taught us how to look at a pregnant woman to see if she'd 'dropped', so I don't put a lot of stock in it.

Most pregnant women do come to a point where they feel that the baby is lower than it had been before and that is called 'lightening'.  I do believe in that and it can signal that labor is imminent, but it can also happen weeks before the baby comes.

My mistake, then. I never really was around all that many women throughout their pregnancies, but I know both with my three and my daughter's one there was a very noticeable change in the silhouette of our bellies about a week or two before going into labor. That's definitely not a very big sample size! LOL

Thanks, everyone, for continuing to educate me. I learn so many random things here :)

I thought the same as you. My friends and I couldn't wait for that space where we could cross our arms below our boobs and above our belly. For us it was a sure sign that delivery was soon!

He’s probably just trying to maintain interest and excitement for the upcoming birth, now that the SiRen wedding is past. Need to make sure there is always some Duggar news on the horizon.

That is the nature of the beast when it comes to social media.  Jeremy has to keep his almost half a million followers happy.  At least he is not shilling some product on Instagram.

Jinger will be blameless unless her husband strays sexually/watches porn/Joshes in some way. In that case, poor, weak men are blameless and their frigid wives are blamed for not being "joyfully available" to satisfy all of their sexual needs. Men only stray because their women fail! Ugh.

Oh, of course. That will be the only time she's seen to have any agency...when he husband treats her like shit. Then it's all her fault.

Jinger used to have troublesome skin, however her recent pics with little makeup on look great, like this one with Abbie & JD.

All of them caked on the foundation so thickly a few years back, pre-marriage I think, it was hard to tell what was really happening on their faces.  Plus the extra-dark fake tans didn't help.  I think they've all backed off both coatings and did themselves a favor.

Maybe she just got better at makeup. She's a stay at home wife with nothing to do with her time if Jeremy isn't there for her to stare at adoringly...plenty of time to finally learn the "use tons of makeup to look like she's not wearing any makeup" look.

I used to try playing with makeup like that until I realized that it only ever really looks good for about 1/2 hour (if), and only under the specific light you applied it under (or candlelight LOL). It was really brought home to me a couple of years ago when Mr Jyn and I went to a fancy dinner where we were seated with a couple we didn't know. The lights were somewhat dim, and she appeared to be far younger than her husband who looked to be in his mid 50's. I thought she was probably in her mid to later 30's. An hour later, I amended that to thinking she was probably in her mid 40's. By the time dinner was over and the lights came up, she was looking every bit as old as her husband and quite a bit more haggard.

He has, which is odd because I think the name and all its' variations are really pretty.

Not to mention being a unique alternative to all the "jo" sounds they already had at the time (Joseph, Josiah, Johannah).

They're nearly as bad as the Radfords with their Millie, Tillie, Ellie, Hallie.

I'm a Julia. If any Duggar has to have my name, let it be a Vuolo. Not a Dullard, please!

I seriously doubt Jim Bob ever even talked to another girl his age before Mullet. I've always thought they were saving the name Julie because they weren't sure Josie would survive, and they didn't want to "waste" that name on her.

  • Love 13

If Jim Bob liked the name "Julia", why couldn't he just insist on giving one of the girls that name? He's supposed to be the headship, the king of his castle whose word is law. Shouldn't he have been able to decree "This one shall be Julia" and have Michelle bow her head in wifely submission? I think we know who has always ruled that roost.

Yep, JB has liked Julia and Julie, but Michelle's claimed "the kids" chose Josie and Jubilee instead.

The kids really did choose those names (well, I'm not sure about Jubilee) as well as Jordyn's, and that will always be hilarious to me. They had to do something "cute" for the cameras, so they had the kids vote on the names. JB and Michelle openly loathed the name Jordyn Micaya(sp?), but that was the name that won and they couldn't override it because it was voted for on camera. I still feel like laughing when I remember Michelle in labor with Jordyn and JB saying, "Here comes Jordyn Micaya!" and Michelle, with gritted teeth, responding with, "Jordyn-GRACE Micaya." She was so pissed about that name. I like to think that choosing that name was a bit of deliberate rebellion on the girls' part.

I don't know if Michelle dislikes the name Julie/a, but JB campaigned hard for that name when they were voting on Jordyn's name.

I think I remember reading that a Julie/Julia was an ex-gf of Boob’s and that is why MeChelle said nope.

Or else I am making stuff up.

I've only ever heard that on the boards.

That's where I'm at. I don't believe for a second that JB had anything resembling a girlfriend before Michelle.

The Inquisitr (lol) says "Makiya", and I'm choosing to trust them though I don't know why I should give them such credit...   Also, I'm giving JimBook rare props for graciously giving in to the kids, if he in fact did not like it as a choice.

I agree. I'm sure he heard the girls discussing the name before the cameras were rolling and he could have forbidden them from nominating that name. The fact that he didn't speaks well of him...or he's just so arrogant that he never thought the majority would vote for something he openly opposed. Either way, the girls got a rare win.

I read an article about the new Counting On season; I didn't want to watch the promo. (It's posted in the Media thread if anyone is that much a glutton for punishment). It said that Jinger and Jeremy attended birthing classes. Is that progress? I can't imagine Jill, Jessa or Joy did the same.

To be honest about it, I think it was just for the show. Just like Ben getting together with the one Christian Rap singer and helping out with the one football camp. Something to make the sons-in-law and couples look good. They are hard up for story lines now and realize the whole family is boring as watching the paint dry or watching the grass grow.

Jill & Derick attended childbirth classes. Jill had to have a talk with him about taking the classes more seriously.

I remember this slightly differently, but this was back before I hated Derick, so that might cloud my judgement.

The way I recall it wasn't that Derick didn't take the class seriously, it was that he told "jokes" at times and Jill Didn't like his jokes because of Jesus and reasons. I recall Jill wanting the teacher (the authority figure) to make Derick cut it out. In retrospect, it was the first signs we saw of some of the issues in their marriage: basic incompatibility, Derick passively-aggressively mocking Jill, lack of empathy from Derick, lack of flexibility from Jill, etc.

I hope that Jinger and Jeremy fare better.

I recall Boob asking questions about hey hey hey during pregnancy in that class.

Ewww... Not enough brain bleach in the world.

I do not see Deredick acting passively-aggressively when he was joking around in the birthing class. He may have done it because he was nervous.

I don't remember this episode. Was this on 19KAC?

TLGGo has the little mini-episodes up about the birth of Joe and Kendra's baby. Baby Garrett was indeed born in a hospital, labor was only 10 hours and the only Duggar present was Joe. Jessa, Jana and those at the TTH were getting text updates and phone updates from Kendra's sister.

Here's hoping that Jinger and Jeremy follow the same path and don't text about Baby Vuolo's arrival until a day after the birth.

After hearing Michelle's voice asking questions behind the cameras, I think she is who shot the majority of the birth scenes. I think she was there, but told to keep quiet.

I think it was probably one of the last episodes of 19KaC before the scandal hit. TLC was still airing shows somewhat in order back then, so it might of aired sometime between late 2014 and Spring of 2015. I believe the last episode was in May 2015 and Izzy was born in April.

Unless it was shown on Counting On, late 2015, early 2016.

So I guess my real answer is, I have no idea when it aired.

It was season 16, episode 12, Birthing Class & Teamwork (7 Apr. 2015)
