asuwur, I totally agree it would make sense for Kendra's mother and sister to be part of the labor process rather than the Duggars. However, I do think the Duggars were salty over being left out. I think they fully expected Joe to call them and invite the horde over to the cabin so Jill could use her medical things and Jessa, Michelle and Joy could recount their own deliveries while Kendra suffered through contractions in the background.

Instead Jessa got stuck babysitting and even Jana seemed to have a pissy attitude. Michelle was probably in her room popping Xanies and sticking pins in a Kendra look-alike voodoo doll.

Final score:

Caldwells: 1, Duggars: 0

Regarding Jingle, I hope she doesn't attempt a homebirth. The Duggar girls just aren't built for it.

Voodoo doll, dying over that one!  Yes, I agree, the Duggar wimminfolk had to be all pissed.  Good!  Go JoKen.

I just watched the episode and I had to laugh at the producers asking JANA what advice she'd give Kendra on giving birth.

I was almost excited at the very beginning that it was just Joe and the Caldwells, thinking that finally we'd get something normal out of these people instead of these forced situations, because who the hell just hangs out in a group at home waiting for someone to give birth? But no, we had to get scenes from the TTH. The vibe I got from Jana and Jessa was more boredom than anything else, with a tinge of annoyance at having had to drop what they were doing to sit at home and wait for texts.

Ironically, Jinger herself was born at home.

I loled at the Kendra voodoo doll.

A Duggar girl delivering a normal-sized baby might be able to birth at home. Certainly not the Duggar girls delivering giant babies after 89 hours of labor with a quack "midwife" assisting.

Did we see any signs of Boob or Mechelle in these videos? Usually they somehow manage to insert themselves somewhere. Joe seemed like he was mostly concerned with Kendra and her wellbeing.

Michelle was at the hospital the day Garrett went home. I don't believe she was there for the delivery because I didn't hear her helium voice anywhere in the background.

Based on what I just read on Pickles, the Siren nuptials are going down this weekend. Let's all collectively pray Jinger doesn't go into labor.

No, the only adults I noticed at the TTH were Jana, Jessa, and Ben, with Joy and Austin in talking heads. Now that I think about it, wasn't it only Jessa seen with all the kids, with the rest of them filmed separately? I wonder what was going on there.

See, that strikes me as normal. She's a Caldwell. HER mom and sisters would be more logical and likely candidates to be at the hospital.  They may be fundie and they may be extremely close knit but they do appear to look at this through a lens a tiny bit closer to what I would perceive as mainstream. Hence, routine maternal care and a routine, non-drama filled delivery in a hospital equipped to prevent a tiny issue from turning into a 72 hour ordeal.

Jeremy will insist on a hospital, if anything because I can't see him wanting the mess and chaos in his house. I see him wanting the pictures of them at the hospital with flowers and balloons. He'd want the car ride home. That just seems to be who he is...outside of the fact he just appears like he would want his wife and child to have medical care. I couldn't even see him entertaining any other way.

The big question is whether Ging will have an epidural or not.  My guess is that Kendra was persuaded, maybe by her mom, to not get an epidural.  She seems too young and naive to make a choice for herself.

Doesn't Lauren have the same rose print dress Jinger is wearing?

Ha!!  I HATED that dress on Lauren (her Easter dress, I think).  It looked frumpy and saggy to me.   And when I clicked on the link to s 5e maternity pics, The fist thing I thought was “oh, hey, I wonder if she borrowed that dress from Lauren?”

it makes a better maternity dress than an Easter one...

I have no problem with professional photo sessions in general, but it's kinda funny to me that Jinger gets praised for them and the new clothes instead of being called a spendthrift attention whore.

I like Jinger and don't like Jill, Jessa or Joy, so I criticize them.  I'm neutral towards Kendra, Lauren & Abbie.  For now.

At the very end when Kendra was leaving you could hear Michelle say she looked good for having just given birth.  There might have been a glimpse of her as the cameraman panned around the room.

The dress is super popular this year, you can get it for as low as $5 on Amazon. I personally LOVE it, since it’s comfy, stretchy, but looks like you made an effort.  I bought a shorter one, as I am fairly clumsy and can’t do the full length dresses. Very forgiving and comfortable!

Frumpy and saggy? It was damn near tight for a fundie! Definitely form-fitting.

I wonder if Jeremy is able to watch the World Cup while at the lunatic asylum (TTH) for the wedding.

Probably not. No TV in the house except in the Joyfully Available Chamber.  And the movie screen in the living room for Andy Griffith. And Internet is restricted. Hopefully they flew in on Friday and out on Sunday morning.

Honestly, I think Jana is probably very capable of tailoring a simple gown.  And Lauren's looked VERY simple with minimal shaping.

Anna's bridesmaid dresses were full-length fitted taffeta, with plenty of details and there were 10 of those,  Jana was the only one shown sewing on them, and they looked good.  (I actually watched the show back then).  Tailoring a ready-made gown isn't very complicated.  You let in, take out and adjust seams where needed, and most commercially made gowns have generous seams for that very reason.   Easier than doing anything to Jinger's dress by Renee.  Custom gowns are fit too closely and with minimal seams to avoid bulkiness.

I'm now really curious to see Lauren's bridesmaid dresses.

Absolutely agree. Just curious what JB’s reaction would be to Jeremy turning on a game.

Who would Jinger side with, Jeremy or JB? And if this was in the TTH would this be one of the only times the unmarried kidlets or even the other marrieds got to see one of their siblings openly defying their way of life?

I think Jinger would side with her hubby because 1) she’s gotten away (as much as you can) from fundieland.  Shes hours and hours away, living in a home, wearing pants, and seemingly in love with her man and

2) JB and J’chelles raised (brainwashed?)their daughters to be obedient to their husbands.  The girls only goal is to get married to a righteous Godly man and have babies and babies.  I think JB pictured all his sons-in-Law being obedient to him in return but didn’t count on anyone being able to survive independent of his money and or influence.

This would be interesting to see.  Even if Jinger chose Jeremy, what would JB do? Kick them out? Ban her from the show? Jinger's one of the most popular person on their show. JB loves his money and all the money he gets from the show. He loves his power and really wants everyone obedient and depending on him. Son-in-laws who will do whatever he says because of money and homes and stuff. I don't think JB could do anything and he probably knows it and hates it. Its not really a problem to keep Derick off the show and golden boy because not having them on the show keeps the show going. Now boot Jinger from the show and let's see how the well the show does.  I'm not sure its not an accident that each son-in-law and daughters-in-law that followed no matter how nice they are aren't people who are going to rock the boat.

For a long time, everytime I saw pictures of the TTH and/or JB and Michelle, there was a photo of them kissing Jinger on her wedding day. And this was before she was pregnant. They know how popular the Vuolos are.

I doubt JB and Michelle would care if Jeremy put on the World Cup on. Maybe because of the commercials? But they've gone way off the Gothard track from when the only sport they allowed was broom ball. Now they go to baseball games, football, and even a soccer game with Jeremy. I bet a lot of Americans haven't see a US pro-soccer team (and yes many people have as well). Did Jeremy throw or head butt a soccer ball to the bachelors at their wedding? Somebody threw a football and Josiah threw a baseball to all the single dudes.

I don't follow enough fundies to know if everyone is becoming more interested in mainstream sports culture or the Duggars are for some reason. The Maxwells are still firmly anti-organized sports with outsiders, but can play family volleyball. If volleyball is good enough for the Amish, it's good enough for everyone.

I don’t think Jeremy would turn on a game in someone else’s house without asking. I think he has better manners than that. I hope. I also do not think he would use this as a line for anyone to have to take sides. I also think a lot goes on at the TTH that is hidden from the viewing public. And the other houses. They all seem to have internet, websites, instagram etc.

All this, plus, it won't ever come down to Jinger choosing sides because in their world, Jeremy is Jinger's king, and for all his other faults and hypocrisies, I do think JB is consistent in that belief. Jinger will always be blameless because she's just following her headships orders. It wouldn't even occur to JB to ask for Jinger's opinion on something Jeremy is doing.

Also, Jinger's SWEET friend, Krista Ann, is in law school.  And she listens to Michael Jackson music and 90's music and takes road trips with friends her age!  So different from Jinger's upbringing.
