It's also disappointing that Nicole wasn't really involved in her story at all, after she was brought in during the court case. I figured they'd follow that up somehow, since Nicole sans Eric needs all the plot distractions she can get. Instead she's stuck being Allie's social worker/nursemaid.

 

I liked Jan /Nicole 's quasi BFF /sibling relationship back in the early 2000s .

Yes ,Nicole kinda treated her poorly but Jan kinda saw her as a sibling she never had. Plus they had Nicole's dad in common. The man who exploited and abused Nicole and the same man who raped Jan. So their quasi BFFness made sense . 

Ava and Jan are the only friends Nicole has had and the friendships made sense. I will never buy Chloe and Nicole being BFFs .

Especially after what Nicole did to Chloe's face .

Nicole/Chloe should never be friends even if Ari/Nadia sell it really well.

 

I also liked Nicole's friend, Sally from the magazine Nicole used to write for I wish they expanded the character more but she was black so that wasn't going to happen.

Allie has spent the last few months telling everyone her mom is a unstable piece of shit and makes the worst decisions ever. Now shes out her mimicking her like “like of course I am”. 

the diarrhea logic and story telling could be more tolerable if the acting wasn’t bad.

Sarah  and Xander were also cringe. 

Trip to Allie “you don’t want to throw your life away in prison” 

Trip to his long dead mom who appeared to his dull surprise and had no idea what happened  “you don’t want to throw your life away” 

Allie “imma shoot your dick off because the mom I hate who makes like the worst decisions EVA 😤 did to her rapist (Ava who weighs 110 and barely touched her plucks the gun away and Allie sluggo to the door and pauses) um like I can have the gun back it was my grandma favorite” like it’s a scarf she loaned her friend. Also like she didn’t use it to try to shoot the nutsack off someone or that person didn’t want to kill her

Same thing applies to Brady, with only his pairing with  Eileen's Kristen being the only decent  pairing he had outside Chloe. 

Brady and Nicole are not couple material and only work well under the "Friends with benefits " mantra. 

Time to put an end to both character's bedhopping and just reunite them once and for all let them have their own son named Wesley Forrest Black .

I'm dusting off cobwebs, but I believe the origin for Jan's obsession with Shawn is that he was supportive of Jan when she was raped by a skeevy pornographer when they were all in Puerto Rico for a "let's end school toxicity" study abroad trip the summer before senior year. I don't remember her having much to do with Shawn before senior year because Jan had her own blond mean boy boyfriend. Anyway, it was nice to see Jan again but I wish she had changed her obsessions like Kirsten did. (John, Brady, and now Lani!)

I think that's where it started too--the summer when the teens were on an island school trip, and Days was attempting to attract new, younger viewers on summer break by making the teen scene the major storyline. On the trip, Shawn and Belle almost hooked up, but Jan got raped by Nicole's pervy father. I seem to recall Jan got an STD and pregnant, while off screen Shawn must have gotten a lobotomy because he came up with the annoying idea to claim to be the father of Jan's unborn child, tanking his relationship with Belle. Jan lost the baby, but gained a new obsession--her dumb white knight Shawn.

Pretty much or almost! They did rehash that and their days at the convent together where Ava took Kristin's advice (basically don't let anything stand in your way and go after what you want) to heart.  Then the second time Ava came back after Kristin called to warn her that Zander might be on to her.

Lani is not in love with Ava so it would be easy for her to be team Allie.. Poor Eli, he has no idea that his wife is in denial..

I'll say it: I liked Chloe/Brady. I'd MUCH rather the show had revisited them (as I think EM/NB also have a nice vibe) than put him with fucking psycho Kristen. Who was ENGAGED TO AND KNOCKED UP BY HIS FATHER 20 YEARS AGO. (No, I won't forget, Show!)

I think a revisit of them makes more sense than either of their other pairings this past decade. Not really sure why the show doesn't want to go there(unless they see Phillip as her endgame although I doubt that tbh)

Nothing surprises me with this show anymore.   I'm sure we'll soon find out that Eli is not the father of Lani's babies because Kristen is.   If Rolf can bring people back from the dead, why not this?

I agree, she was really embarrassing today and I have to wonder why on earth Zander would be attracted to someone with that behavior.     During the virtual Days of Days fan event a few weeks ago, the actress said that Sarah is pretty close to her own character (which was pretty evident during the "game" she was playing re things that happened in Days' history).  However, she said the TPTB told her they wanted her to kick up Sarah's zaniness (is that a word?) even more.

I liked Nicole's offhand comment that Salem needs to hire a better coroner - so that people who are dead are actually dead.

Not sure that she should have called Abe, but he is a father type figure to her so he would be a voice of reason. She is right about Allie in that Allie could be facing charges for attempting to kill Tripp.

I also get Kayla's anger. She feels that her stepson is lying.  There is no complete DNA test available to the 99 percent degree? Tripp is either being honest, he is lying, or there is some factor missing in all this.

Philip's mugging face toward Chloe was distracting. Why is Mimi Lockhart being brought up?

Today must have been that one script writer that I like, because Abe and Roman actually had a conversation about Lani's irrational behavior regarding Kristin.  What show is this?  I'm also appreciating the complications that are driven by the personalities of each character.  

Ava salivating over Steve while Tripp stood in the background with a perplexed look on his face was hilarious.  

Sarah and Xander are way too schmoopy for my taste.  I may shift from tolerating them to actively rooting for their relationship's demise.  

Although Abe had nothing much to offer, I liked that Nicole called him to help her out in a time of trying to make sense of the crazy world she lives in.  But, I still miss the Nicole who set her world on fire and had no ducks to give.  

CHLOE'S LIPS were all I could see during her scenes on Friday's show but I felt like I had adapted to them by the end of today's show.  

So relieved that Philip spotted Sarah exiting The Salem Inn.  I hope he figures her out and uses her to feed faulty information to Xander.

I can't wait for the whole Allie/Tripp storyline to be finished.  The only good thing about it is it gave Steve and Kayla a genuine source of conflict that didn't involve some interloper or triangle.  (Let's hope the return of Ava doesn't involve her being obsessed with getting Steve back somehow.)  And, since pretty much everyone on this show loves to trash Sami, I keep waiting for someone to blame her for Allie's idiocy of going after Tripp with the gun.

Jack & Abby were so over-the-top & bizarre today, but I guess it was all to unintentionally piss off Gwen. I guess it was worth it, though, since it drove Gwen into a hilarious rage. 

I don't understand why Kate is determined to keep her fling with Jake a secret from Chad. She is a 60-something grandmother, she can sleep with whoever she wants and shouldn't have to sneak around like some teenager trying to keep it a secret from daddy. What exactly is at stake if Chad finds out?

That room that Kate & Jake keep sneaking off to: is it located on the DiMera estate or is it at the car repair shop Jake worked at?

By keeping it a secret and Chad keeps missing who Jake is actually sleeping with, it creates more doubts for Chad who is secretly afraid that Abby will sleep with Jake.

It is a workshop on the Dimera property. The actual car repair shop had an upstair apartment that had a real bed.

Geez, Jake, you don't have to tell Chad that the new woman in your life is Kate, but letting him think you're with Abs? She needs the black wig. Maybe put that on the cot.

The steam from Gwen was spewing at Abs making up with her dad. The plan to wreck her life isn't working all that well. No room or anticipation for Plan B, C, D, etc. Taking that nerf bat to the poinsettia display was funny. If she did damage the plants, ouch.

 Abe must have run out of possible commissioners. Um, you can actually post a position and bring a new character on deck instead it revolving it back to Rafe.

Julie's screeching would make my hangover worse. The reality is that what Jennifer does with her life and drinking with other men is not her business. The Horton tree seems to be up early this year. The whole show is in holiday mode earlier than two weeks before Christmas.

For as much as I like having Abe in the mix of things, all of those Abe/Rafe scenes could have been left on the cutting room floor, and we could have just been told that Rafe was the new commissioner. 

Jake, I think Kate just told you that her relationship with Chad is more important to her than her relationship with you.  It's fun watching Chad being caught in the middle of multiple women in his life lying to him, though.  

Gwen's outrage tantrum and Cady McClain's reaction shot was the funniest thing I've seen in weeks.  I'm still chuckling as I type this.  If Gwen's story is actually about how a quest for revenge can hit a road block at every turn, I may be a little impressed with the Show.  It'd be nice to have a change from the usual Villain-of-the-Month type storyline.

Except, more than once they've said that Jennifer is an addict who DOES NOT DRINK.  Finding your addicted relative hung over on the couch would be concerning for anyone (not that I think Julie should screech at her.)  I really wish the writers would remember things like that.  And I really hate that suddenly Bonnie is supposed to bonding with Jennifer.

I know it's not the first time people have noted this, but he seemed to be smirking while he was supposed to be sad and apologetic about accusing Abigail of cheating on him. It got much better when MM took over the role, but there it is again...

And good God, throwing Stefan at her as an affair when he then holds Stefan raping her against Stefan (and Jake).  She should have slapped him.

And I don't know why Jake told Chad he was sleeping with Gwen instead of just saying it isn't any of his business who shares his bed.  It's not. 

The lighting was really bad during the Kayla, Steve and Ava scenes.  There were shadows under Tamara's eyes and I am not talking about lack-of-sleep shadows but literal shadows.

Gwen, Gwen, Gwen...what are you up to.  Every time I think whatever she's mad about has nothing to do with Jack, she does something like she did today.  If her primary goal was to make Abigail the bad guy in revealing the Jack/Kate affair, why would she care so much about planting more doubts in Jennifer's head? Just because she knows Abigail wants her parents back together?
