That hasn't been my observation at all.  We live in Mesa, AZ . . . a huge Mormon community with at least two temples in the area.  They use Christmas as an outreach time by decorating the grounds of the temples beautifully and expensively.  They have members all over the place to answer questions, and there are LOTS of decorated trees.

This blog - IMO - summarizes their belief about Christmas really well.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the largest group of which I'm aware that doesn't celebrate Christmas.

Interesting. My experience is different.

Interesting. The ones I know are not Christians. They do not recognize Jesus as God’s son. It’s like Jewish people celebrating Christmas. I’m just very surprised to hear that.  I agree that family is a pillar of the faith - so yes, him leaving was shitty. There must just be varying degrees of ‘devout Mormons.’

That's interesting considering the official church name of Mormons is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

From the LDS website:

"Have you ever wondered what Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Like many other Christians around the world, Mormons, also known as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, look to Jesus Christ as their Lord and worship Him as their Savior. Many Mormon beliefs about Jesus Christ are similar to other Christian beliefs about Him."

"Like most Christians, Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Creator of the World."

This is my experience as well. I've gone to the Washington, DC temple several times just to see the Christmas lights and trees.

I believe Andrea and her family are Mormon.

Perhaps the poster was confusing Scientology with Mormonism.

Nope.  I was relaying what I have been told by several Mormons I have known.  I think Andrea played up the Mormon angle for this show (and her other reality show) & that tree just magnified what I thought.  None of the Mormons I know would get finger banged in a car wash on national tv but what do I know.

Not gonna lie, Utah Mormon Christmas as described by Andrea sounds slightly creepy but fun!  Random gifts on my porch?  Kinda weird, but fun!  Magic winter wonderland?  I bet there are a lot of gingerbread goodies too, delicious.

Michael doesn't have to choose shit and so Sarah is being ridiculous.  Either leave him or don't, but stop saying he has to make a choice because he clearly doesn't have to make a choice other than which condiments he wants to eat his driveway Popeyes with.

Clint's poor mom.... she's probably been through hell with Clint and his drug issues... thinking he got them cleared up and then he ends up with a crack addict.

And now I'm scared if I ever lose weight i'm going to look like a crack addict.

Marcellino My Ass, the responsible thing to do if you have been drinking is to get a ride home.  Get over yourself.  Brittany did the right thing.  Don't turn your pissyness over her wanting interactions away from you into a criticism of her actually being responsible.

With that said, I cry no tears for Sasha.  She was part of a crime in which two people were killed.  I don't see a judge saying, "That's okay, Boo. I'm sure you've learned your lesson while you've been free and living life these last 6 years.  You know, the kind of life you took away from the two people who are dead."

Marcelino is a narcissistic control freak. Isolating her from her friends. Wanting her at home so he knows where she’s at. Wanting to control the battle for custody. I’m hoping and praying they are playing this up for TV and in real life he’s not really like that.

When Clint’s mother said what she did about hard drugs, I could only imagine the hell he has put her through over the years.

And I’m not sure that’s not something made up by production to add drama to their storyline. This show is pretty boring thus far, I wouldn’t put anything past Sharp to juice up the show.

I really don't like Marcellino and if I had to choose, I'd far rather hang with Brittney than him. BUT...

The actual responsible thing for Brittney to do in this situation, having driven their only car out to meet her friend, would have been to not drink. Second choice, if she planned to drink, would have been to Uber there and back. Given that she didn't go either of those routes, it was better for her to leave the car and take a rideshare home, but it did mean someone was going to be inconvenienced by having to go get the car to get Gio to school the next morning.

Second -I agree that Marcellino is controlling BUT -he's not wrong that maintaining contact with other felons is a violation of her parole. It broke my heart when Brittney said the only real friends she ever had were ever the ones she made in prison. True -but terribly sad. But remainng friends with them, and televising it - is a risk. And to the degree that she has had substance abuse issues in the past, drinking is probably not a great idea -and she does tend to drink when she is with them. I don't much like his delivery but I think he has some valid points that she should consider and as her husband the father of one of her children, he does have a stake in the outcomes of her actions.

I seriously could watch an entire show of Andrea & Lamar.  She seems like a smart woman who raised two smart kids. How can she have been attracted to that idiot?  The interactions between them are hilarious though.  "I'm not your homie..."

And for someone who screams, "I'm DONE.  DONE!"  Sarah is never done.

Megan.  Michael is the love of your life?  Really?  She's much prettier than Cabbage Patch.  She can't do better?  And sucky fucky or whatever he was asking for in his driveway?

I'm also with the other poster about Marcellino.  He's annoying AF, but the responsible thing to do would be to Uber there and Uber back.  Or not drink.  Or not drink much.

I suspect Marcellino wouldn't like a friend of hers that wasn't a felon.  I suspect that is just him being controlling.  But he isn't wrong about her cavorting with felons.

It took Tracy an hour to look like THAT? They probably reeked of cigarettes, too.  Clint’s poor mother. She must have spent most of Clint’s life being disappointed and/or embarrassed, because let’s face it, he’s a fuckup. Then he brings home a drug addict who looks like she’s not in recovery, at all.

Alice and husband look like good and decent people, and it appears Clint knows how he’s supposed to behave, so  it doesn’t seem his parents have done wrong by him...I feel for Alice. It looks like Clint is headed for heartbreak.

I love Megan's friend. He's trying to talk some sense into this idiot. I think Michael wants to break his tether so he will be arrested and not have to deal with *any* of this bullshit!

Michael and Meghan get more disgusting every week.  I feel sorry for Michaels mother and sister.  He is as stupid as Clint.  Tracie is Clint's third wife.  No wonder his parents are disgusted.  Andrea needs to take her kids and get out of dodge now, she hooked up with loser too.  At the very least, those kids deserve much better.  Looks like next week Tito and Marcellino are fighting if I saw that correctly.  What a mess.

I did not need to see the rerun of Car Wash Porn.

If I was Michael's mom I would call the cops on him.  He needs to go back to jail, this way we will never have to worry about where he is at night and can't make any more innocent children suffer.

Sarah:  "I never knew what it was like to have my husband there to support me."   When you marry a jailbird that tends to happen.

I went to Las Vegas and laid by the pool all week, people watched and never drank a drop of alcohol, in spite of staying next to a store called "Liquor World."  (I did go there every day for a cold Diet Coke, though.)  Never went to a casino, did a lot of people watching.  Vegas can be as wild as you want it, or as tame as you want it.  (For those of you wondering why I would go there and be PG rated:  I live in the midwest and wanted a break with guaranteed sunshine on a budget.  Vegas delivered.)

Glancing at the TV under Tracie's lil intro blurb all I could make out were the words Unemployed and Fraudulent. Go figure

Mama finally got in Michael's ass. I'm just now thinking about these people being from Flint MI where many were poisoned by the water supply. Perhaps this is a factor in the executive functioning.

Next Week's show looks much more stupider.....in a good way.

Did I hear correctly, Sasha got ten years?

I agreed with the judge she was just as responsible as the others. I’m glad he saw through her act.

Brittany is institutionalized in a way.  Her constant clinging to the people she met on the inside is baffling otherwise.  She needs to get as far away from them as possible and reconnect with non criminals.

It was sickening to see Michael go running back to Sarah because he and Meghan fell out.

And I don’t think Meghan is ugly at all. Stupid, yes. But not ugly.

Yeah recently the Bachelorette was telling one of her suitors that her parents don’t communicate and how she doesn’t want to live like that.  I’m sure they wanted the whole country to know their business.

Not on the outside. She looks great in that full-length side-eye shot they use between segments. In the wrap dress.

But man, is she dumb. Letting Michael talk all that "snake" shit about her kissing a dude and telling him, when his ass was purposely inseminating dummy Sarah eighteen hours before helping himself to Meghan's virginity and letting her find out on television.

Drugs are bad, mmmmkay?

Megan just gets dumber every week. It’s as if there are no other guys out there who would treat her right, that aren’t convicts, that aren’t married. It’s as if she has a death wish where relationships are concerned.

Scott is another one with fried brain cells. When Lizzie started bitching about the friend Scott is helping out, I would have turned the car around and set her ass outside while going inside and locking the door. But nooooooo .....

Brittany needs to find a woman’s group of some type that isn’t made up of parolees. Maybe yoga, or a mom’s group at the park. Something, anything besides hanging with her former cell mates. I was waiting for Marcelino to say “That could be you up there if you screw up.”

Tracie was in the court house until after dark?? Ummm.... I don’t think so. So they decide to drink champagne (what are the open container laws in NM?) right in front of the airport where there are plenty of cops around.

These storylines get more contrived to stir up interest.

You're right there.  I live in Vegas and I don't drink or gamble.  We have all sunshine you can stand and then some.  I'm PG leaning toward the G side.  It's a great people watching place, that's for sure.

I can see Clint and Tracie blowing through his paycheck pretty fast.  You can get free cocktails if you're playing, but on the Strip you can also pay $17 for a cocktail and $8.00 for one beer.  It adds up quickly.

I don't know if there is enough brain bleach to see Tracie in a bikini.  Just .....no.  Please.

Question to anyone who is knowledgable about court and hearings: do they really allow a reality tv camera crew in the actual courtroom? (Or any type of camera for that matter)

I picked up on that my first time in Vegas. I met up with some friends, and I sat next to one while he was playing. I put a quarter in every now and then until I got my fill of drinks. 🙂

No, they don’t. Unless it’s a hearing or trial where cameras are allowed. Like the OJ trial. If they don’t allow filming, there’s no way that production could coerce them into doing it “just this one time.” If filming wasn’t allowed we probably would have seen one of those messages on screen at the end of the show that gave us the outcome of Sacha’s sentencing. Sharp’s so cheap they blurred pretty much everyone’s face so they didn’t have to pay them an extra’s fee.

It looked like that was the same courthouse Larissa on 90 Day Fiancé has gone to twice and they didn’t have footage inside on that show.  Maybe it was because domestic violence cases are treated differently or maybe they didn’t ask.  In my state they have been allowing cameras in the courtroom for criminal cases, and newsworthy ones (such as Sasha’s double murder case) usually get footage aired on the evening news.  Maybe because this is an entertainment show they had to scramble the faces and voices of anyone who didn’t sign a release.

Yeah, Mom should call and turn him in for all of those.

Remember when we met up?  Wild and crazy people we are, our meeting place was a Harry Potter cafe.  LOL.  Their most famous "alcoholic beverage" (not) was butterbeer.

That courtroom looked real, and none of those people are skilled enough to "act" out the reactions for the verdict.  My vote is that they were given permission to film the hearing, which is why 90% of the faces were blurred out, and the judge's voice was modified.

Several years ago, the "Sisterwives" family had a "court" hearing (also in Las Vegas) to finalize the "adoption" of Robyn's three kids from her first marriage.  That one looked totally fake, and most of us thought it was done in a rented "courtroom."
