I hope he actually reads some of the things people say to him before he starts to cry from the hormonal imbalance his c-section has created and goes block-happy. I would absolutely LOVE for TLC to have an event where the people from their shows appear on panels together. Can you even imagine the snark worthy wonderfulness that would happen if old Dill-irious was on a panel with Jazz and she asked DillHole to explain how/why she is a non-reality? Derick would thrill us with lots of stuttering, awkward swallowing, attempts to remember scripture, staring at the back/side of Jill's head in the hopes she would speak up for him, and eventually falling back on the gagging thing. 12 Link to comment

Now, added to the above quote where he's basically calling Jill ugly and charmless, and what @Lunera said about college education, there appears to be a pattern of Derelict putting Jill down in subtle (or not so subtle) ways. I wonder if he does this IRL as well and if Jill has figured it out or if she's so unaccustomed to the use of irony and sarcasm that she just doesn't get it. For her sake I almost wish she's too dim to understand because if she does, I don't think she's got the tools to call her headship out on his passive aggressive bullshit; she'll probaly just internalise it and feel like crap without understanding why. IntoTheMystic September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 It wouldn't shock me at all if Boob and MeChelle 'donated' the full Malawi mission trip to get Derick out of everyone's hair for a while. His access to Twitter would be drastically altered in Malawi. They probably pat him on the back and encourage him and tell him he's right to his face, but behind closed doors, they wring their hands and pace the floors over how much negativity he has been bringing to the brand. And, you know, this mission trip could conveniently take place while they are filming Counting On and TLC may not want to work/film the dude who went after a year old girl on their network. To save face and make everyone happy ... "oh, Derick has such a heart for helping people that not going back to South America couldn't stop him. He has now gone to Malawi to help where he can." Having him off in Africa would also explain it if Jill can't have more kids for a while or at all. It sounds like creepy conspiracy theories until you stop and think about who the players are and then you realize you wouldn't put anything past them. 23 Link to comment

GeeGolly September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 (edited) A family of 4 is costly. Most families have mortgage/rent, utilities, food, clothing, cell phones, car expenses, health insurance/medical costs, etc. For many the largest cost is mortgage/rent. Are the Dillard's paying anything for the Pool McMansion? If they are, then they should downsize to cut costs or not take a $12,000 course. Or Derick (& Jill) should get a job if Counting On isn't bringing in enough cash. They're begging for money from a community, that appears for the most part, not rich. I wonder if Derick would knowingly take money from a retired Fundy who decided Derick's 'career' path was more important than, say, eyeglasses? I don't know about you all, but we make choices/sacrifices based on our income, not how much money we can grift. Edited September 1, 2017 by GeeGolly 22 Link to comment

Obviously, he has the money for this program....unless JB paid it for him. Derek sure likes to 'but out' of life, doesn't he? The cost for the missioncations is included in the $12k tuition. I guess this would be his overseas assignment? I wonder how long he'll be gone. I can't imagine it being more than two weeks. 1 Link to comment

He has now gone to Malawi to help where he can." 1 Considering the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people right now in Texas that desperately need help, going to Malawi to "missioncation" is frigging ridiculous. He's a plane ride away from all kinds of opportunities to assist other human beings who need help. Then again, I'm sure they would not appreciate his interpretive dancing or his hair-growing talents. Then again, I think you're right. It was the easiest way to get him out of everyone's hair for an undisclosed amount of time. 19 Link to comment
Sew Sumi September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 Well, it's just good timing as far as getting rid of the Duggars' latest problem is concerned. I'm sure Cross Church has these missioncations lined up months ahead of time. They might even be on an annual schedule. That said, how many sons do the Duggars have that could be helping in Texas right now in some capacity aside from passing out soccer balls and dum dums? 13 Link to comment

I wouldn't want to follow a God who ticks the boxes on the 'are you in an abusive relationship?' checklist. Any chance Derrick thought he was complimenting Jill but throwing shade at Jessa with that quote. 1000 likes for this. I have often wondered about the depictions of God that give him every quality that humans are NOT supposed to have. 10 Link to comment

After all, the people affected are not godly and probably deserved what happened to them according to the Law of Gothard. Slightly OT: How many of you read that Tony Perkins (Joshley Madison's former boss) had to leave his palatial home via canoe? Fun Fact: Tony Perkins has said before that natural disasters are God's punishment to those who are accepting of the LGBTQ community.... Edited September 1, 2017 by Missy Vixen 32 Link to comment
