They were charges, not accusations.

And what does "resolved in a timely manner" mean? Being convicted of a crime and being sent to prison does not "resolve" the matter when the person is a child molestor/into child pornography.

I like the Vuolos statement. They’re not defending him. I think Jeremy never gave a fuck about Josh and would like to distance himself from the family. It might just be to protect his own ass, but at least therés that.

I see a bunch of comments about how the show will be canceled, and the Duggars, in general, are over, but I don’t agree. The siblings in the family are not to blame for Joshua’s actions. As far as we know, they previously forgave Joshua before because their parents and their religion required them to forgive. That forgiveness did not mean acceptance though. I’m willing to bet that most, if not all of them, tolerated Joshua, but I think most, if not all of them, didn’t respect or like him. 
I think these new charges came as a total shock to the siblings, and again, I don’t think they should have to lose their income because Joshua is a scumbag pedophile.

Any adult with more than three functioning gray cells who would actually say something so repugnant deserves to experience what the kids in those images have been subjected to.  Kids are trafficked, drugged, abused and even murdered every day around the world to produce those images.

As far as those baying for Anna's children to be removed from her, remember at the end of the day it's not about vengeance and punishment, it's about the best interest of the kids.  They've lost their dad.   Sure, he's a total load, but I doubt that was their perspective.   Being ripped from their mom on the assumption she was complicit or at the very least she should have known doesn't necessarily result in a great outcome for the kids.   As much as I despise the general lifestyle of that cult, I don't know that traumatizing the kids achieves anything but traumatized kids, which is not a win for anyone.

Both the family statement and Jeremy’s are pretty damning, they didn’t try to say they stand by Josh or his name will be cleared soon.  Family went with The truth “No matter what it is” and Jer with “Fully support the judicial process”"........Neither of those scream we’re on his side or we deny things which is pretty telling.

To go further I’ll take this to Jill’s thread but for here.....not long ago I read how Derrick had apparently encouraged her to go to therapy and that came around the same time she started wearing pants, drinking wine, avoiding the TTH and so on.  He’s also declined to make any statement about the arrest; sounds like as much as we can’t stand Derrick a lot of the time he had Josh’s number long ago and has been trying to get Jill out of the FOG of her upbringing and forced relationship with her abuser.

As someone who has an incarcerated family member, I want to say that there's nothing abnormal about stating that you still love that person. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty wrong with the Duggar child rearing and Duggar beliefs. There's also plenty wrong with the way JB & Michelle handled the original incidents. But he is their child and it's not surprising that they still love him. I take from their statement and from Jinger & Jeremy's, that they are going to accept the results of this case. I think they realize that it's very serious and he will in all likelihood spend a long time in prison. I'm not a Duggar apologist. I just have some understanding of what they're facing right now.

I don’t know if I’ve ever posted in this thread at all. I know this isn’t the prevailing opinion here, but the one thing I want to state is my personal opinion regarding Jeremy/Jinger. 

I like them. And IMO they bear no blame at all for what Josh has done, and should not be held accountable, forced to explain themselves or suffer consequences from actions that they did not do. 
 

It may be true that their fame, such as it is, is a direct result from being a part of the Duggar family. Jinger had no choice in that and I’m content to believe Jeremy actually did fall in love with her. He certainly removed her from the Duggar orbit as soon as possible. 
 

I also have no problem with Jill and Derrick. I think it took a lot of courage for her to speak up about family issues.

I remember just last month wondering whatever happened to that raid back in the end of 2019. Guess that answers that. Does anyone remeber when the Duggar statement at the time said something along the lines of "no one was investigates to our knowledge"? I read that as "yeah, someone was investigated and we know who and why but want to cover our asses and not admit that." 

When I saw Josh was arrested yesterday my first assumption was child photos/videos. But then I thought it could be some tax evasion/money laundering thing and hoped that was the case because 1. JB might go down too and 2. it means no harm came to children. Back in 2015 when the molestations came to light I knew that he was a pedophile and that it wasn't mere childhood curiousity. I wish I had been wrong. I felt nauseous and even cried a little bit when the charges came out today.

I completely agree. I remember an interview with Jeffery Dahmer's dad. He still loved his son.  That didn't mean he didn't think Jeffery belonged in prison or that his crimes were ok.

There's at least some value in their statement informing those inclined to think they are role models and examples of Christianity that those who harm children in this way are abusers and deserve punishment.   Let's face it, there are those so delusional about the family that if their statement defended Josh and minimized the allegations it would have been accepted as righteous and true.

Maybe it’s not fair that the rest of the Duggars are “punished” for Josh’s (alleged) crimes by having their TV show and influencer gigs cancelled, but that’s how it goes, especially when the entire narrative is that they are a wholesome Christian family whose claim to fame is having lots of kids. If the charges were white collar, it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. But the nature of the charges and the whole Duggar image are diametrically opposed.
