Sutton is the only housewife that is a socialite.  I’m sure that she lost some friends after the divorce and she doesn’t need to lose more because of Erika Jayne.  

I wonder why Erika is spinning that tale about Tom behavior changing three years ago.  Is she implying that is why she became miserable in the marriage or is it because she wants people to believe that is when he started stealing money from his clients?  As Sutton said, Tom has been doing this for more than 10 years and paying people off to get away with it.  It all just finally caught up with him.

I just have to say one last thing about Rinna, during her talking heads in the magenta suit with the magenta lips, I can barely pay attention to what she’s saying, I can’t take my eyes off that gargantuan upper lip.  It’s just bazaar, but yes, your a queen in your own mind.

To be fair to everyone but Dorit, I don't think that they did hang Sutton out to dry because they each basically outlined their stance at the meeting. Lisa made it pretty clear that she's ride-or-die for Erika. And Kyle basically said in the meeting what she said at the dinner - she believes Erika, for the most part.  So Sutton shouldn't have expected any strong support from Rinna and Kyle for her line of questioning.  Crystal and Kathy were (smartly) kind of mum about the whole thing. 

The person who did hang Sutton out to dry was Dorit. She made it seem she was much more willing to grill Erika than she was. So I think Sutton was right to confront her on that.

The timeline makes it look like Erika is in cahoots (after the fact) with Tom and his lawyers. Her original story was that she left him because he was such a mean bastard. But a month later Tom’s attorneys decided to use the Ken Lay defense. You might remember that Ken Lay escaped prosecution for his part in the Enron fraud by dying. He could not be prosecuted post mortem. Not wishing to go so far as dying, Tom decided to achieve the same amount of protection from prosecution by acquiring Alzheimers. This would preclude not only prison time but also criminal penalties. Erika had to make the pivot to the Alzheimers narrative. Ergo the crazy cliff story.

Ok, so I haven’t watched RHBH in 4 years or so but came back this season just to watch this true crime documentary play out in real time. Was this “normal” behavior for Erika or was she either heavily tranquilized and/or working overtime to be “calm and collected” to hold her lies together? If anyone was truly completely blindsided, you would show some shock and outrage! And if you were really innocent, then you’d have some more reaction to the audacity of being accused. Somehow, though, Erika’s ice-cold demeanor got most of these women to backtrack on their big plan to make her take accountability. She whispers, “I’d like to know where the money went.” And they all start cowering like Mom just warned them in public, and you know an epic punishment is coming as soon as you get home. Are they scared of her? Everyone except for Garcelle seemed to be. No one started rattling off all of the Exxxpen$ive shit she’s obviously spent the millions on?! I’m sure you blow through that money fast with 24/7 glam squads, private jets, new designer outfits and jewels for every day, multiple houses, etc. How about Bravo rolls the video-tape and we can see exactly where the money went?

So I have a couple of theories:

1. I think that Erika has some sort of tacit agreement with producers that she would stay on the show so long as they continue to employ her even if she goes to jail like Teresa Giudice. Because otherwise, I am not sure why she's continuing on the show. The only way she could have prevented these issues being discussed is to not be on camera and obviously, she didn't want to do that.

2. Teddy's comment about there being lawsuits says to me that yes, these women are used to some of these kinds of financial scandals, but I don't think they have really grasped that the trouble that Erika is orders of magnitude larger than the stuff that even PK or Mauricio has faced.  (And I think with Dorit and Kyle, they are probably comparing their situations to Erika and think she's like them - I doubt Kyle has any knowledge whatsoever about what goes on with Mauricio's business and PK's financial issues seemed to happen prior to his marriage to Dorit). 

In other words, I think that all of these Housewives are used to some level of financial lawsuits and so it's easy for them to ignore them. But this situation with Erika is a different kettle of fish than their more garden-variety financial scandals.

How did the guy sleep at nights?  He’s a monster. I’m not sure of the extent to which Erika knew, but I honestly don’t believe she’s all that sympathetic.  She’s out for number one.

The 1st 10 minutes of this episode was EVERYTHING! I loved most of the girls (less revolting Rinna) putting the pieces together and seeing that the math ain't mathing. 

To see so many of the ladies soft peddle and tongue bathe Erika when in her presence is positively nauseating. Erika must have some serious big dick energy because the ladies (less so Garcelle) do seem to tip toe and defer to her.

Props to Sutton for remaining tearless even though she did soften her stance a bit when confronted by Erika. 

Queen Garcelle for the win though! She brought the focus to where it should be.

Dorit is useless and I hope Garcelle gets up in her non-ass. Fuck Dorit indeed.

Erika may or may not have known Tom was a crook, however, what IMHO, she is most definitely doing is coordinating a defense with and for him, which also saves her own bacon. This diminished capacity in the last 3 years BS is an attempt to avoid liability. How is it that he was allegedly declining but at the same time he also was settling multimillion dollars cases. The accident happened in what? 2017 That Lion Air settlements happened after the accident in 2019-2020 so they need to STFU!

How diminished could he have been? Notice that he never 'accidently' or 'inadvertently' gave anyone money. 

The California bar also has a lot to answer for. You can't tell me there weren't complaints. When people don't paid money due, they start filing complaints with the board. 

Erika looked terrible and it is indeed expensive to be her because without a glam squad and regularly botox/filler sessions, her makeup looks awful! In the past her outfits might have been questionable but that face was always always flawless. I notice that she still had the same manicure she had at Kyle's desert home. Money must be tight!

Sutton did not come to play and I’m loving it. Tina can shut her yapper. She doesn’t need to worry about her reputation because we all know what it is. That surprised me too. And it isn't like there were tons of people there to feed, just the howives which number no more than many would have at a typical family holiday dinner. I pictured staff from a restaurant sneaking the food in the back door in the foil roasters. I also laughed when Kyle insisted she cooked herself and did not have a chef, meanwhile one of the women was captioned as being Kyle's chef. Lol.

I don't remember Kyle having a glam squad before. Ok, not a squad, but a glam person? I guess maybe because the party was at her house she felt the need, but she looked no different to me than when she does her own hair/makeup.

I actually like the way the cast has gelled, and if the same ones return sans Erica next year I think it will be a good group. Mind you it is quite possible Erica will return as well -you just never know with howives. I did laugh when she said she wanted to know where the money went. Well Erica, your LLC, two private planes, the houses you didn't know Tom had, the mistress(es) you didn't know Tom had, etc., etc. I wonder if she ever questioned where the money came from as it was being spent?

I hate to kick someone when they’re down….except Erika.  She looked really bad at Kyle’s dinner.  Makeup and hair was a mess.  Her outfit was not good.  Was she going for “down-trodden” and whatever she thinks “poor” looks like?  Her acting shtick isn’t getting better either, and she’s been preparing for one hell of a role when it’s trial time.  The self driving to the party was just a tad OTT too. Her world weary, monotone, apathetic manner of (not) answering any questions was laughable.  

Rinna is a garbage person. Whatever dirt that is tying her to Erika’s butthole will come out eventually.  Her reputation suffered last year after attacking Denise (on top of her past bullying of other previous cast mates), and I can’t wait to see how she’ll try to wiggle out of her blind loyalty to Erika’s complicity in Tom’s serial thievery.

And he keeps getting to move into multimillion dollar homes every 6 months.  Maybe Erika will hire PK as an advisor on how to temporarily dodge the karma train.

Sutton is smarter than she’s given credit.  Aside from being literate enough to read and comprehend a newspaper article (even a really long one), she is savvy in the ways of detecting bullshit.  I would watch her over Dorit or Rinna any day.  A show with Sutton, Garcelle and Crystal as front runners would be much more enjoyable.  Kyle and Kathy can be “friends”, but Dorit, Rinna and Erika can fall off the planet anytime.

So much to unpack with this episode and so many posters have been eloquent.

Here’s some of my additional thoughts.

1. Kyle admitted she didn’t read the whole LA Times article - WTF - why not - cognitive dissonance, inability to read something longer than a Dr. Suess book, lazliness, reading comprehension, denial? Seriously, if it was my coworker I would have read it several times.

Kyle - a woman who wished at one point she wanted to be lawyer and in another episode she wanted to be a stripper. I think the former wasn’t in her wheelhouse.

2. These old timers do have a friendship or a “contractual agreement” with Erika. So knowing what they knew then (versus what we know now months later), I will give them the tiniest bit of leeway because if Erika was putting on an act all this time, then she was an awful friend and not who you thought she was - that really is a level of betrayal that is hard to understand, recognize and deal with. This on top of them being just shallow in general.

3. Sutton for the MVP - she so rocked and is very intelligent. This Sutton is awesome. Garcelle and Crystal were also awesome.

4. Dorit was initially appalled at what Tom allegedly did - it is a really low, low bar is Dorit is upset about your scamming (she got over it really quickly).

5. Erika had actually no emotion or affect during this whole conversation, she sounded like a robot.

6. Next season - Garcelle, Sutton, Crystal and a few other women who are equally intelligent.

Ms. Accountability Coach can miss me with her impassioned “we don’t know, none of us know” speech. She filmed this in December 2020, after her All In program was dragged in a bunch of media outlets that Fall after former clients detailed the bullying and toxicity fundamental to her MLM-esque scheme. 
 

I’m no defender of Erika, but IMO, Teddi might be just as bad. She’s running a cultish scam where women pay her and her “coaches” to berate them into an eating disorder. And engaging in really shady financial practices to keep it going (like having clients for their services via the “friends and family” method on PayPal). I’m not saying Teddi’s crimes and Tom’s are the same, but Teddi is the leader and architect of her con, while Erika was a beneficiary of Tom’s.
