Awww, Bershan, I had such high hopes for you.  Girl.

Next week looks like it starts off with a major catfight.  Physical.

But, I still hold out hope for Ms. Bershan.  I hope once she sobers up, she sincerely apologizes for the "grandma" and "clown" comments, as well as for physically imitating Sonja.

Remember, Bershan, ask yourself 3 things before you say something:

Is it true?

Is it kind?

Is it necessary?

But in times of Covid, it could easily be that both their grandmothers were hospitalized or in hospice at the end, and visitation was severely limited, if it happened at all.  My great-uncle died alone of dementia coupled with Covid, not even his wife was allowed to be with him at the end.  There was no whole extended family camping out in the hospital in 2020.

A lot of being there is to support the living family.  Support their mothers, their grandmothers’ close friends and relatives, their own siblings and cousins.  I can’t imagine leaving my mother to face this alone.   Especially Eboni who has said there were only three of them left, now it’s just her and her mother.

Eboni did say that she didn't want to put on the "colonizer's uniform". I remember because I rolled my eyes and was expecting a follow up lecture that surprisingly didn't come.

It symbolizes something different for her than for Ramona or Lu, who simply refused to wear it in the name of fashion. Not sure why that’s worthy of derision.

I’ve seen Bershan’s name spelled like four different ways…Breshawn, Rashon, Barshan. B e r s h a n. lol

From what little we know of their relationship what Eboni has said and their phone conversation they appear to be very close. I believe her mother still lives in North Carolina and I imagine they had a conversation about what they needed from each other. During the time of filming NY residents were required to quarantine upon returning even from domestic travel. Many of us, even those not on a reality show, had to make tough decisions that were most likely different than what they would have been if there wasn’t a pandemic.

One of the most famous victims of the Salem Witch Trials was a slave.

Tituba, a Native American slave from Barbados, was one of the first accused. Weirdly enough, Arthur Miller changed her into a Black slave because he felt that American audiences would only associate slavery with Blackness.

I rolled my eyes at Eboni's "colonizer" comment, too, but she's allowed to protest what colonialism did to both Black people and Native Americans.

Luann is relatively okay with being called a ho, but flips out if she is called boring or her education is challenged. I was surprised that she was so triggered by Bershan (thanks @chewycandy) when she's weathered far worse insult storms from Hurricane Bethenny. Just kidding. I wasn't surprised.

I was actually craving a history lesson from Eboni after seeing Bershan this epi. She’s such a hot mess and does not bring the kind of drama I want to see.

Why was Leah taking away from Eboni’s moment about her grandmother? I just can’t with her  - she’s such a dramatic twat.

My husband learned that in Alanon, slightly different but same sentiment, it really does help to think just the littlest bit before you open your mouth. Bershan is trying to make her time on camera memorable, controversial, etc...she has to be ready for the blow back when she does this. I too had high hopes for a fun HW but alas, no fun HW.

Everyone is posting abut how Lu likes to say "how dare you, who are you to...." Ramona did it first, at Heather's house in the sticks, while they were canoeing and that pretty model splashed her and got Ramona's hair wet, Ramona launched in to "who are you to get my hair wet, etc..."

It’s literally her job. Many people don’t have that ability to leave their employment and in this case her grandmother had dementia so it’s entirely possible she was in a facility that didn’t allow visitors.

I have failed and didn’t earn a chip for canceling Rhony as I am here again having not only watched it but also commenting. In my defense, I read your comments first and decided I needed to see Bershan bringing all the smoke for myself and I am glad I did! Couch potato wished for a history lesson instead but not me. This is what I live for. 😂 Was Luann really showing the door to Bershan at a restaurant? Sonja’s drunk antics are NOT funny and I am glad B2 called her a clown. I just didn’t appreciate her throwing Ramona under the bus. She really has been everyone’s scapegoat for as long as I can remember. Sonja is the biggest perpetrator of this so I don’t see why R should have her back at all.

Thanks for the warning about Ramona pooping everywhere like a newborn or a puppy and NOT picking it up. Disturbing indeed and I fast forwarded through that. These ladies never fail to reinforce my respect for those in the hospitality industry.

So much this! My BIL was in a rehabilitation facility after cancer surgery during covid, and my sil saw his behavior rapidly declining and the staff doing things improperly, (without proper hygiene), and neglecting him severely--via the nanny cam she had put in his room!-- and it still took her weeks, and a court order with sheriff escort, to get him out of the facility. They wouldn't let her near the doors otherwise, and still tried to refuse access with the judge's order! It was a giant mess. (He ended up passing away soon after, when he shouldn't have, so they're thinking he caught covid at the facility)

If there was nothing Eboni could do, and if she couldn't even see her grandma, I don't blame her for not leaving. I also still believe that Leah's family are the ones who encouraged her not to show up for her grandma's passing. She's a lot to take even when she's not fake crying all over the place.

That could be true, but neither of them used that as an excuse or made any attempt to be with their family after receiving the news. Who carries on with their day and doesn't even mention something so momentous? Apparently the answer is Leah and Eboni. Then (fake) acting hysterically was too-little/too-late. If Leah hadn't caused a scene would Eboni have ever said anything? Our 16 year-old dog died on Wednesday and I let our friends & family know right away. I didn't wait until people realized she wasn't around anymore. Their behavior regarding grandmothers who supposedly were their whole world, is puzzling to say the least. So either they weren't as close to them as they claim, or they're too selfish to give up camera time.

Leah started crying because Eboni started to mention it. Not everyone deals with death in the same way; particularly in a case where it’s expected and where the person has been suffering. Eboni mentioned her grandmother no longer recognized them and had been that way for awhile which for many people allows them to start the grieving process before the death certificate is signed.

It’s literally been happening for years so it doesn’t appear to be a priority for her. She has also left it to be cleaned up by the staff before.

And I seem to recall during the Colombia trip a couple of seasons back, the housewives had supposedly eaten some bad seafood and Luann commented on their departure from the hotel that she had left a "surprise" in the bed for housekeeping.

So much for her etiquette 🤢

This is exactly why I give Eboni more leeway in this situation than Leah.  Leah's grandmother was actively dying.  They 100% new her demise was imminent.  The family had gathered around her for her last days.  Leah was in the Hamptons.  Yes, it was a work obligation.  However, she made a huge fuss, used it as an excuse for every terrible thing she did, kept saying she was going to leave early, then only left a few hours before the others did.  It was a performance designed to keep all focus on her.

Eboni stated that her grandmother too was very sick and had been for a long time.  There was not as much a sense that it was imminent.  However, they knew it wouldn't be years away. She had seen her recently and was in close contact with her mother. And when people have dementia, there is "the long goodbye".  Grieving starts before death because you slowly lose the person you know.

Also, Eboni stated she learned that morning.  So she chose to process this on her own before telling the other women.  Leah chose to make it the primary focus; Eboni chose to keep it more personal and tell people during a calm situation (at least up to that point) when they could all hear at once, thereby minimizing the chatter and disruption.

There is no one right or wrong way for anything related to grief.  And I can certainly be clouded by my extreme dislike for Leah, but to me Eboni was choosing to keep her grief more personal while also letting her coworkers know whereas Leah was all about putting on a show.

Ugh, these women are awful. I can understand why Bershan (sp?) was brought in - because Eboni, instead of being the 'breath of fresh air' the producers were hoping for, turns out to be a lecturing harridan who finds literally every single thing she comes across 'triggering' and has to deliver a lecture about it.

So, a fake friendship between Bershan and Ramona was concocted to introduce her, and she turns out to be batshit crazy. You'd think she'd fit in just fine with this group but it's a different kind of batshit crazy.

Anyway, the whole thing is a goatfuck. Ramona is disgusting, leaving a turd on the floor. What the hell is wrong with her? Luann is even more grandiose than ever, Sonja is a mess and Leah is vile. The 'conversion to Orthodox Judaism' she told us about in Ep 01 of this season has been forgotten, otherwise there's no way she'd be getting a tattoo. And Eboni is a hypocrite, telling Sonja to her face how badly she thinks the other women talk about her, whilst doing the exact same thing herself.

The only thing I agree with any of the women on is that Sonja needs an intervention.

The women don't even look good in their THs.  Luann's straight long hair is just weird, Ramona and Sonja have had too tight facelifts and Leah has this weird mono-boob that looks like this.

I agree with all this. I am sick of Eboni and really hopes he goes, but I don't see a thing wrong with how she told the ladies. I am someone that doesn't like a lot of drama, so would likely handle it the same way. When my BFF'S dad passed after several years of dementia, I, of course, expressed my condolences. I remember her response being " thank you, but I lost my dad a long time ago". She had adored her dad, that wasn't coldness, it was just the sad truth.

I did not think for one minute that girl was going to convert to Judaism let alone Orthodoxy which is very restrictive for women in many respects.  Why would she make that bold statement, never follow up with anything about converting AND none of the women ask about it on camera!

I mean how could anybody not ask Leah about her conversion journey? It would be impossible for me to not keep asking questions.

I know. That was right around the time my 91 year old grandma was in and out of the hospital, very sick.   This was before vaccines so everyone was careful.   The hospital did allow one visiter at a time.   We were back and forth from Boston to NYC, hotels were still open, we drove a lot.   We stayed at her home with her when she was discharged.   I know all the recommendations were to stay away from the elderly but weighing the pros and cons we made our decisions.

We don’t know if Eboni was looking out for her mother’s best interest or her own.  Based on what we’ve seen and her obsession for fame starting at a very early age, I have my suspicions.

What did she do, or say, that displayed her ignorance?  I admit I did not catch it.

This was a perfect time to discuss what happened to the Native Americans.  The Native Americans helped the English religious fanatical Pilgrims get through their first winter.  In turn the Pilgrims  considered the Native Americans lesser people and devil worshippers.  The Wampanoag tribes were native to that area of Massachusetts.  The pilgrims stole their land, their food, tried to convert them to Christianity and eventually massacred them.
The Native Americans that survived were enslaved by the pilgrims.  The pilgrims eventually traded some Native American slaves for Black Slaves in the Caribbean or somewhere similar.

This is what adults discuss when they go to these sites.  Eboni skipped right over the Native American suffering to talk about herself and being Black.   A little ignorant.

Ok this is mighty gross but once I was at a big box store and as I approached the cashier I saw what looked like (and was) a ball of poop on the ground.  I told the gal who was helping the cashier that something was on the ground that looked like poop.  Initially Her mind could not conceive that it could in fact be poop as she leaned over and reached out her BARE HAND toward it to pick it up.  I was like Noooooo!  As her hand got close, she stopped.  She realized then what it was.  She took proper sanitary precautions and removed it and sanitized the area in short order.  She said initially she thought it had to be an old kiwi fruit.

now the above experience and Ramona’s got me interested to do a quick search and “fecal incontinance” looks to be a thing in some adults for different reasons.  I’m sure it’s no fun for the sufferer and it’s odd Bravo did not “blur” it out but they do seem to love shock value.

Interesting! That would explain the number of occasions this has happened with Ramona.

However, it doesn't explain how we keep seeing the poops on the floor. She must know by now that accidents happen, and surely any sane person would learn to check their floors for samples? I can understand the poop coming out involuntarily, but I cannot undestand her not realizing stuff has come out and then not cleaning up!

I really liked RHONY 13 years ago. Those women had families, boyfriends, children, friends…

Now they are divorced, old, empty nesters, every single one has drinking problems…

There is no more story line there. They just visit each other houses to get drunk and argue. Ebony had a chance to be a breath of fresh air, but disappointed too.

Please, retire the current group and start all other again with the new diverse group of women from New York. I really want to see another Bethany, who had made a fortune in front of my eyes in just a few years, or Jill who was a real character regardless what we think about her… Alex and her husband were very entertaining too… Also would be awesome if the new women will have different background and family situations…

Ramona's vertigo while standing with her eyes closed, after some drinks at dinner, is a lot like what happens to me when I'm drinking and try to walk with my eyes closed (or open, for that matter).  Like America's Next Top Model, though, who must push on through the challenges even while sick with the flu, though, Ramona will not let a little distraction keep her from showing up for the fans.

The new ladies (Leah, Eboni, Bershawn) simply do not fit in, and this season is miserable because of that.  Andy Cohen once defended the lack of diversity in the cast by saying that it's one of those things they tried to do each season but because they were so focused on getting a new POC cast member exactly right, it didn't happen until now.  What a crock of bull.  Eboni might be good for this group in a different setting, but if there's an equivalent to the term man-splaining here, Eboni seems to be engaging too much in that here.  It has to be hard for her, though.  She's given a forum, at this time in our divided country.  Whichever way she goes -- full-on teacher of what it's like to be black in this country, full-on typical Housewife, or some combination of both -- she's going to face backlash.  I'm rooting for her and Bershawn.  And if Leah can get back to being an observer who makes witty comments ala Bethenny, and get rid of the baseless anger (Leah's hostility is excessive and misplaced), the show would improve.

Along with many others here, I didn't think I would see the day when I would rather be watching Beverly Hills than NY, and actually looking forward to watching BH, but this season of NY is weak on all fronts.  NY has survived prior disappointing seasons, so there's hope for next season, at least.

Finally got around to watching this weeks episode. I’m OK with Bershan. It’s obvious that the producer suggested that she shake things up a little bit. And we got to see classic Luanne. Just like in the Hamptons When Luanne picked up on the word education and everything exploded, Luanne picked out the word boring responded to it and the rest of the ladies took off with it. It’s the classic arguments at dinner etc. etc. etc. and Sonja or Leah going berserk.

Eboni does not have conversations. That requires listening to another person. An actual exchange of thoughts and ideas. Instead she pontificates or what my mother used to call holding forth.

I hate, hate, hate Lu's long hair.  While she didn't need to keep the feathered hairstyle she had years ago, the long hair drags her face down.  The prior hairstyle showed off her incredible cheekbones.  Love her look here.

Me too.

Ramona defecating on the floor of her bathroom didn't bother me a lot, as she obviously didn't know it. And appears that she went back in to clean it up, Not sure how that would happen but Ramona does seem to have some issues in that department. What bothered me was Sonja, knowing it was on the bottom of her boots, but continuing to walk around on the carpeted floors. Ewww. And yuck. I hope these hotels do a thorough cleaning of rooms, including carpet shampooing, after the howives leave. The howives have been on enough trips that anyone hosting them should be forewarned by production.

Thank you for mentioning that!  It drove me crazy that she stepped in it AND tracked it around!

Also, just need to say that Eboni is perpetually in either cross examination or closing argument mode. She is exhausting.

This was a perfect time to discuss what happened to the Native Americans.

This would have been actually SALEM's job, not Eboni's.  Did you see the reconstructed village discussing that?
