Strange how many HW's kids have bailed on college in the first year.  Anyone have a head count?

I don't but it just is sad to me when they stash these young women in glamorous apartments by themselves, expecting them to work as models and then "get to class."  They should be in dorms with girlfriends eating pizza and getting to class.  And I hate to tell Rinna, but if her girls don't mention their famous parents, I don't think anyone would know who they are.  I wouldn't and I've been seeing them on this show for the past several years 😄

Absolutely. I think he’s given her the stability and emotional support she’s so desperately needed in life. Which is worth more than anything.

Definitely. Some women never get this. I think most of us not only want love, but also want those we care about to be proud of us. Erika's father wasn't there for her. Her relationship with her mother sounds complicated, and her grandmother who she was very close to passed away. I'm not sure what her son thinks of her performing. I think it truly means a lot that Tom was so supportive of her dreams and expresses he's proud of her. Some wealthy men would probably tell her to be content with the lifestyle and not be supportive of her pursuing a pop star career, especially at her age. Tom is not only okay with it, he supports it, and praises what she's accomplished. I remember I didn't like how he shut her up at dinner a couple seasons ago, but I do think he loves her and her happiness is important to him. No one's perfect, but I believe Erika that Tom is a good man.

Regarding sex, Erika is obviously a sensual woman imo. But we all have different priorities. Denise is someone who'd probably go crazy without an extremely active sex life. I see her choosing a broke young man who has a lot of energy over someone who she makes love to once in awhile but has a lot more in his bank account.

Patti Stanger says women need to decide what's more important to them when choosing a partner-money or sex. Erika is the former imo. Tom is someone who's given her emotional support, a lifestyle most can only dream of, and helped propel her childhood dreams to come true. He's done a lot for her, so I see why she's happy even if it's not hot and heavy between them.

Had a double mastectomy but not a candidate to do reconstructive surgery. I have been on both sides of the boob coin. When I had boobs they were big and unruly and now that I have none, that comes with it's whole own set of challenges!

Sorry to hear that but yea for coming out on the other side happy and healthy!

Now if we can conquer menopause...when I was younger I thought about just fixing aging with a surgeon but after seeing some of these HW's I am treating them as a cautionary tale.

Dorit is so shady in her financial shenanigans.  Why isn’t the title on the home in both her and PK’s names?  Why can’t she answer a question if she has nothing to hide?  Her deflection to the producer about his own house title was so amateur.  The producer is not on a show about being rich in Beverly Hills, she is.  I do not believe one word they say about their finances.

Right there with you. It's obvious there is a lot more to this story and Dorit doesn't want to talk about it. And yes, Dorit, my husband and I have our house in both our names. Some couples actually do this. Imagine! She also never really answered the question.

I've only watched one season of RHONJ, but I wonder if this is how it started with Theresa and Joe. Were they also denying everything in the beginning?

Quote

Erika and Tom don't have sex. She was caught off-guard by the question, and it was so obvious.

She was but I don't blame her. I like Garcelle but found the question invasive and rude. She barely knows Erika. If someone I barely knew asked me about my sex life with my husband, I'd be offended.

Quote

I am just hate watching at this point, but wow is this boring AF. I don’t like Teddy, but why are they so mean to her? I didn’t see anything wrong with her invitation. She can’t say “hey, Bravo will be there if you want to be on camera...even if it’s just before lunch and you have to leave before the evening event.”

I thought they were rude too. It seemed they sensed weakness in Teddy and moved in for the kill, like mean girls in high school. And the more Teddy tried to downplay the event, the worse she made it for herself.

Lisa looks horrible in her TH with that pink eyeshadow. Too much and rarely works for someone her age. In one of the other scenes she was back to her old hairstyle. It looked so perfect it made me wonder if it actually is a wig as Brandy claimed.

Kyle looks good in the THs but in other scenes--especially with the bangs--her eye job is very apparent and she looks odd. Not bad but not like herself.

I wonder how Lisa's daughter feels about her mother airing her issues on the show. I know she talks about it on social media so maybe she doesn't care? It would bother me.

The producers better come for Kyle and Mauricio in their talking heads pointed questions about their legal troubles the same way they did with Dorit and PK. Anything less and I will be disappointed, and also convinced Kyle has negotiated herself some kind of immunity in her inclusion rider.

eh, I'm not judging Erika's marriage, just her i guess, lol. As I said, her husband does seem like a sweet guy, and they do seem to care about each other.

That whole scene with Denise and her operation, and her husband saying "honey, we're in the future now" was weird! why was that necessary? Also, having 4 hernias at the same time must have been extremely painful!

I think most married couples have both names on their house ownership. My understanding is that if something happens to one of the spouses, and the other didn't have legal ownership (on paper), then its an issue to transfer ownership after the fact. Also, I would want both names on house insurance, etc. It doesn't make sense to have only one name on the house, unless the other doesn't want to list it as a personal asset.

Why did Denise go to a hotel instead of going home to recoop?

Those machines Denise's big penis hooked up to Denise reminded me of some sort of Scientology machine bs.

Garcelle is making a big deal about moving in to that townhouse mansion, dollars to donuts she is out of there in a year because it is too close to neighbors and it may be hard to film there when the houses are done and people are living there.

How do all these HW's metabolize all that booze they drink, these days I am one drink wonder and I am in their age range-ish.

I am confused about Sutton's sign regarding her store. Under the name Sutton is says Est. 1971. Is she trying to make it look like her store is some long established, successful store that has been around for decades? Does she not know what Est. means? It isn't even her birth year (not that that would make any sense either) as it appears she was born in 1970. When I googled to look up her birth year I also came across her height (5'6'' - possible) weight (120 lbs - not likely - lol) and net worth - $ 2 million. Two million? I thought she was supposed to be loaded? In BH and surrounding areas, I don't know that that would even qualify as middle class. Not impressed by anything about her at this point.

Speaking of not impressed, one of the reasons I watch the RH franchises (only watch BH, OC and NY) is house porn. So I am not impressed by the new gal's new digs - a basic house that could be anywhere USA (or Canada for that matter since that is where I live). And Denise's rental may be on 2 acres in Malibu, but the house is a decades old looking cookie cutter suburban tract house.  So disappointing. Its like watching Sonya and Dorinda in their shoe box sized apartments and being glad that I live where I live.

No way in HELL Sutton is 50, no way.  I am guessing 60.

Garcelle's house is not impressive.  I am not impressed by her in any way so far.  I agree, the reason to watch is to see the beautiful homes, like Camille's Malibu house from Season 1.

Whether she was born in 70 or 71 - Sutton is younger than me?  Wow, I'm shocked.  (I was born in 67 and am 52 - I would have guessed her as mid-50s.)

I agree with you about Erica - I have always thought she and Tom are happy together.  Is it a marriage I would choose?  No, but everyone's marriage is different.

I agree with you about Teddi - I am one who loves to entertain and flatter myself that I am good at it, but I can also tell who doesn't/isn't, and she is one.  She tried in earlier seasons with her spa party and pot-luck dinner; smart of her to do something that doesn't depend upon her hosting gifts OR the behavior of the other women 😄

I'm a 1967er too!  And wow, I thought she was actually late 50s!

Loved it when Garcelle put Erika on the spot by asking about the sex with her 80 year old stud muffin!! I seriously doubt sex was ever a big part of the Girardi marriage- Tom was 60 when they wed, ( overweight, out of shape, high stress job ) . At least Erika didn’t outright lie.

I'm sure Tom wouldn't have liked her saying anything negative about their sex life on national TV.  I mean, what man would want his wife saying something on TV like:  "I have't fucked him in years.  If he gets hard, it lasts 5 minutes."  Her allowance would be cut!

That said, I do like Erika. They probably have a great relationship that works for them.  He got to have the hot blonde on his arm who doesn't seem like a dummy and has a good sense of humor, she gets the wealthy powerful attorney who is a daddy figure and support she never had.

Maybe I'm crazy but I didn't really see anything wrong with Teddi's text except for the fact that it was a text. She could have called or done something more formal, I guess

Yeah I think Teddi is not a natural hostess and her invitation and the succeeding attempts to explicate what she meant are a result of her nervousness about it. The event is something she cares about but she’s ambivalent about having the women there because that’s always a train wreck (not just Teddy’s events, all HW events). I think if she had her druthers it would be a non-hw event, but I’m guessing her HW job requires she invite them. And weirdly, since she is asking them, she wants them to want to come and is going to be hurt if they say no.

Those two competing feelings - that she wishes she didn’t have to invite them at all, but if she does invite them she wants them to want to attend - are what made her invite sound so backhanded and contradictory.

I say that as someone who is not hostess-y at all and who has had this exact scenario play out.

Two other notes:

Erika and that picture they showed of when she was first with Tom, from 20 years ago. I had to rewind a couple times as she was not recognizable. Lots of work she has had done.

Sutton. Loved the producers cutting from Sutton crowing about how the mayor was at her party to the mayor asking his aide who/what’s this event for?

Kyle talking about what is going to happen reminds me of how Texicanas was set up with a narrator.  It seems like that format wasn't very popular and I find it odd that they are essentially doing the same thing with RHOBH.

I hated that format. Took me to tries to get all the way through the first episode and three for the second episode - and then I gave up. I’m sure it wasn’t totally the format that made it so arduous for me, but it didn’t help. This is a shame because I went to undergrad in San Antonio and started my work career- I love San Antonio and was so curious to see how it has changed or not changed since 1988.

My mom had a partial facelift in her late 40's and just plumped her lips a tiny tiny bit in her mid late 60's and she looks very natural. She looked refreshed after both procedures. I think if done responsibly it can be good. She did say though if she knew how painful the facelift was going to be she wouldn't have done it and would never do it again.

Denise honestly could really benefit from a partial face lift.

That's perfect!  Teddi needs you to help her with her communication skills.  She may be an accountability coach, but she is really bad at communicating and getting her point across. With each situation, she puts her foot in her mouth and it always ends up badly, even though I don't think her intentions are bad.  She needs someone like you in her corner (or on an app in her phone), and to stop taking advice from people like Rinna...

I'm not watching this season, but, happened to land on this episode when I saw Lisa R. in the car talking with Teddi.  My first reaction was OMG! WHY, OH WHY, can't Lisa R. let go of that outdated hairstyle once and for all????  She gets a great look that shaves 20 years off of her and then BAM, she's back to that same old, same old, 1992 hairstyle.  What's wrong with her? She must enjoy looking older and outdated.  I checked and she looked great in the scene with her wearing the bright pink top talking about being in Roxie. I suppose it doesn't matter, I don't intend to watch this season, unless, I get really desperate.  We'll see.

You & I have the same observations.  I also rewinded and paused on "old" Erika because I thought to myself she looked older 20 yrs ago than now. I said to myself "she was a good startout canvas for the plastic surgeons. As in, there was nothing messed up about her face."

The opening of Sutton's boutique was so cringey and awkward, I literally looked into my plate of snacks as I had to look away from the screen.  From the mayor scene to Teddi telling the women she doesn't care if they come.

My take on Teddi is she (like all howives) needs to promote her business. Now she knows it's boring but how do you promote a life coaching business with an event? Not like multiple howives/children of, etc who've scouted vineyards for "their" wine brand. Or going to Italy to scout shoe /clothing suppliers for their brand. Or premiering a hit single at a club/concert. You get it.

Denise's face was extra melted looking, following the surgery. I don't mind her though.  Better than Kyle or Lipsa.

Lastly I'll say Dorit needs to call Teresa Giudice. As a child of the 80s I'll quote a PSA that ran constantly.."it's never to early to learn how to read."

I like Teddi too.  I just think she’s not as diabolical as most of the others.  And, as someone else mentioned up thread, probably not as comfortable “entertaining” as some of the others.  (I’m like that.  Casual is preferable for me!).  I’m happy about her pregnancy.

I pretty much glazed over Dorit and PK's scenes, so no comment there.

I adore Garcelle, she seems like a riot. I wasn't a huge fan of the scene with her friend in the new house, but I get why they filmed it. I didn't know much of her background and that was a good summary. Her ex better be happy all she did was send an angry email, I would have gone all Lorena Bobbitt on a man that cheated on me for 5 years.

The Erika and Garcelle lunch was fun, too. Erika seems much more relaxed and less defensive than previous seasons and I'm enjoying it. I get why she was irritated in her talking head, she and Tom have been married for 20 years and yet people always seem to bring up her sex life like it's any of their business. It seems like their marriage works for them and that's all that matters.

Sutton is...odd. I can't figure her out. I do think it's good to have someone who's an outright bitch to keep the show interesting and she definitely fits the bill.

Teddie once again proves she has an unmatched ability to stick her foot in her mouth and a complete inability to read a room.

Dorit’s house is in Encino.  That’s in the San Fernando Valley, NOT Beverly Hills.  It’s where people who want a big, fancy home, but can’t afford BH or Westwood or Brentwood, end up settling.  Land is much cheaper there.  Still not cheap, but less.  Might have been listed at $6 million, but unless it had several acres of prime flat land attached, the location doesn’t command that high of a price.  Might have been listed for that much ... and not sold ... and that’s why it’s prob being leased out to wait for the market to go up.  I didn’t see any super high end finishes in it either.  So, now that makes two housewives living  in the valley (Garcelle and Dorit), Denise in Malibu, Erica in Pasadena and don’t  know where Rinna lives (looks like BH Post Office which is between BH and the Valley, but still has a BH postal code), and Kyle might be in Brentwood, don’t really know.  Sutton is in Bel Air with the most hideous furniture you’ve ever seen!  Worse than her clothes, hair and makeup!  Looked up her place online and there’s a video tour!

I believe Kyle is still living in the huge house that got robbed.  Maybe it is in Bel Air.  It didn’t look like Encino.  I don’t know if Rinna lives in BH proper or in an area that has the BH postal code and name, but is really city of L.A., bordering on the Valley.  We call that area the “BH Post Office” or just “the P.O.”  Expensive, yes ... but still not as much as BH proper, because the PO doesn’t have the use of BH city services (fire, police, etc).   It is technically in L.A.  The amount of land she has looks like the P.O. to me, but might be city.  Don’t really know.

I’m really disappointed with this season in so many ways.  I miss the old seasons, where we saw houses, shoes, bags, trips & wealthy lifestyles.  Definitely not seeing it at all with this bunch.

It’s just soooooo boring.  I barely watch, I’m usually scrolling through my phone & kind of watching at the same time. I used to be glued to the tv when this was on.

i miss the glam of LVP & Camille.  Say what you will about her, but we saw a true BH lifestyle with LVP, & Camillle too.   Now all we see are rentals & houses that look like something I could live in.

if we weren’t in isolation I really don’t think I would watch this season.

Isn’t this the same house she lives in now?  It’s the same flooring, shading and outside, and it’s in Encino.  I’ve been hearing for years now that she lived in the Valley.

These inaccuracies really bother me.  I never understood why it was called Real Housewives of a Beverly Hills when, at most, two of the women were ever living in Beverly Hills simultaneously.  Either cough up women who all live in Beverly Hills, or change the name of the show to Real Housewives of LA.  It was like some bait-and-switch branding ploy to get us to tune in, when at least one of the women are living all the way in Malibu.  How is Malibu “of Beverly Hills”?  It treats anyone with a sense of direction like they’re stupid.  I guess I should believe Bravo, though, and not my lying eyes.

This episode was all damage control. Bravo should be charging each housewife a PR fee.

Very recently everyone was remarking that Erika and Tom acted like strangers in every scene they were in. The gossip columns said there was financial trouble and that Erika had a separate residence (perhaps temporarily). I've always believed she had very discreet dalliances, although that may have ended when she joined the show, given increased visibility.

I don't buy the carefully rehearsed tender scene. Any good actress can pull it off. No way, no way is Erika in this relationship for love. It's the wealth. She's waiting him out.

It appears Garcelle will simply be another vapid, whiny housewife. When will she roll out a new product?

Agree that the sharks are circling Teddi, preparing for the kill.

Same with with Potomac, you could say...

Definitely.

Same with Dallas, Miami, D.C., NYC and Atlanta during different intervals, and I hate it.  The only ones that have been consistent have been OC and New Jersey, which are named after a county and a state, respectively, which is probably the reason the women actually live where the show says they do.

I am just all about transparency.  Don’t give your show the title that a focus group looked favorably upon—give it a name that reflects accuracy, is all I am saying.  I don’t care if it’s The Real Housewives of Podunk.  If it’s good, I’ll watch.

There is something going on with her and her hyper sexualazation.. I am not saying it happened but something in her past is causing her to act this way. It happens a lot with people who were molested

Thank you for posting this. I have been speculating the same about Lala on Vanderpump Rules. They lead with their sexuality.

It’s similar to the name “Housewives” still being used even though none of the NYC women are even married.

Oh, I’ve always just accepted that as a wink and a nod toward the mid-aughts show “Desperate Housewives.”  The Desperate Housewives weren’t all married either.

There’s nothing tongue-in-cheek about misrepresenting where people live, especially if this show is trying to sweep women who maybe don’t have very much money into the 90210 zip code for ratings.

I finally watched this episode. Wednesday night, I actually forgot about it.

I agree with the poster who wrote that Dorit is looking a lot like Taylor Armstrong.

Why was Kyle struggling when trying to communicate with the waitperson that she wanted a Margarita?

Kyle’s striped, beaded jacket was so ugly. Her taste in clothing almost always baffles me.

Erika looks so dumpy in those track suits. I don’t understand why Sutton announcing that she’s wearing couture bothers Erika so much when Erika’s outfits almost always announce a high-end designer label.

Her interactions with Tom are so uncomfortable to watch. They do not look like two individuals who have ever been intimate.
