As much as I didn’t want Liam to die just before Christmas, I think it’s way less hard for me than when Mike Corbin lingered and died last year because my mom had died only a few weeks before and my dad, who had dementia, started going downhill soon after her passing. This year, no one close to me is dying or has died

I do think they are doing a good job with the Liam story overall

Kirsten is really good at knitting. How about this, show: Since you (or maybe just the good people in wardrobe and hair and makeup) hate Kirsten Storms, why not let her do her own hair and makeup and provide her own sweaters that actually fit and flatter her body? She is so much cuter on her on instagram and in her instastories than how they have her looking on GH.

I want those tea flasks.

Okay so Mommy Curtis knew too. that's crazy. well maybe she knew. maybe that's why she died, of boredom trying to figure out what this stupid secret.

No Sonny didn't make that comparison and it still pisses me off they made it about Sonny

what is it with these people. Nina is allowed to be at the hospital. believe it or not she's allowed to talk to Sonny. if Sonny didn't want to talk to her i'm sure y'all realize he could make it clear that he didn't want to talk to her. like crap. Sonny needs to poop or get off the pot. Yay for Nina for her "Shut up" to Olivia. well deserved.

i'm not really feeling Scout here. (more the actress than like scout being whatever about Drew.)

Ned, you still deserve better than Olivia.

lmao. Sonny with his rosaries. whatever

I say this with respect. Sofia Matsson knows how to cry really well.

Maxie is on almost every dang day, I don't think they hate her.

Mike pops up so much we should be hearing random extras talking about their run ins with him.

She's a new mom to a little boy, playing a fictional new mom who has to take her newborn son off life support. I imagine that this is very emotional for her.

She has done very well overall. She hasn't missed a beat. I'm assuming the scenes were exhausting and emotionally draining for her. When Sasha turned around to get back to Liam and she was blocked by Brando and Elizabeth, it was very sad.

Where was Gladys? I'd think she'd be there too, waiting. But for some reason, they decided not to include her at all even though it's her grandson who just died.

I don't know about this. Sonny can't do much for himself, you know.

I thought that was weird, too, though maybe she'll be there on Monday. And of course the more people there, the less it's about Sonny, and we know that can't happen.

yeah I know there is that angle too but before that (but it's emphasised here but most likely for what you said). she cries really well. Elizabeth is one of those people too like when she cries. it seems/looks natural. I just remember the woman who played Portia's mom on Passions. She was almost always "crying" but it was just making the face and barely a tear would come out.

it did tick me off that Gladys wasn't there. she should have been over Sonny/Mike.

I think the way KS looks on the show is more accurate than the social media she controls. She just knows all the tricks.

I think it's a combo. She uses filters and her hair is over face a lot on insta but I do think the foundation they use on her on the show is bizarre a lot of the time and probably more distracting than anything she might have on her face.

Maybe it is meant to make her look as stressed and frazzled and she would have to be in Maxie's situation?

BL in a damn blazer in the sauna, really? I don't get the point of having scenes stuck in a sauna if it wasn't for sexy times. They could have had that conversation anywhere. If it's the actress' preference to remain so covered up, I wish they wouldn't write her in scenes like this. If it's the show, then it's insulting, and pretty much means that a Chase/BL romance is getting nothing fun.

Word. The two pairings I've been looking forward to - Finn/Liz (Fizz) and Chase/Brooklyn (ChaseLynn) have been a big disappointment so far. I'm beginning to think it's Amanda's choice to stay covered up. Really hope its not because she feels self-conscious about the post-baby weight. She's actually very attractive, as most of the GH actresses are.

Even though Marshall reminds me of some of my Johnny Walker Red-drinking Uncles from back in the day, he's really stomping on my last nerve.

honestly, some people just like feeling covered up. as i mentioned before. I am the kind of person even in the summer i wear long dresses with sweaters to cover my arms, and jeans and stuff. i really don't like showing skin/my body regardless of my weight.

I thought the Sasha/Sonny scenes were pretty good, though I agree with everyone who says there is no comparing the death of an elderly man who lived a full life and a newborn infant who will never get that chance.  I wonder what will happen with Sasha and Brando.

I was wondering why Sonny's reference point wasn't the full-term baby she and Sonny lost. But I think the point is more about having to be the person to make the end-of-life decision, which is the real common thread between Mike and Liam Mike.

I thought the clarinet solo and ghost Mike combo were a bit much -- but thank God for it, because I was sobbing, and pausing to eyeroll helped calm me down a bit!

Obligatory Mike cameo to usher someone to Heaven or whatever.

That took me RIGHT out of the scenes, which were actually very emotional.  What would've been more impactful--and realistic--is having Sasha and Brando being left alone in the NICU (quietest, smallest NICU ever) to hold their son and say goodbye.  But, no, let's shoehorn the Corinthii into this because of course.  I'm just shocked Sonny and his rosary didn't burst in to say a pray over the kid.

STFU, Olivia.  You're not Carly's enforcer and you can just but the hell out of the Nina situation.

Leo touching all the cookies had me running for my hand sanitizer.

Still liking CM as Drew--he's playing the part well.  I like that he's not acting like a pouty baby because Scout isn't immediately all loved up on her long-lost Daddy.

Oh, well, Hat Man plays the clarinet, so, yeah, now I get it and love him.  Not.

It took me right out of the scene too. But if they were insisting on having Mike show up again, then I think they could have made his presence more impactful by having him holding a real baby, a bit older than a newborn obviously, who was smiling and laughing to show that yes, Sasha and Brando did the right thing by their son and that yes, he is in a better place.

I think that we all want to believe that there is a better place and that the people we love do go there, especially if they've suffered because of x and y.

While I like Max Gayle, Mike needs to stay where he is.

  • Love 8

I guess Mike is supposed to make us feel better about a baby dying (right before Christmas, not that there's ever a good time for this.) It doesn't. I don't care about Sasha/Brando as a couple, I don't believe Sonny and Carly actually give a shit (especially Carly), but here we are and throwing the ghost of St. Mike isn't going to help that. Enough with Mike already.

Sonny pausing his way through praying---yikes. I'm sure they're listening to the prayers of a professional criminal. If we must have someone pray, it would have been better to make it Olivia rather than use her as Carly's guard dog.

I like Drew. They're handling the Scout part well (so I expect they'll botch it soon.)

I liked Britt checking in with Nina about how the situation with Sasha and Brando might be making her feel about what happened with Nelle.  I dunno, I just really like the family unit that these ladies (and Maxie) have formed.  And it made Carly's All About Me grief a second later feel even more performative.

Speaking of Nina, I also liked her standing up for herself and telling Olivia to shut up and MYOB because, seriously Olivia, shut up and MYOB.

Enough Ghost!Mike taking people to heaven please.

Previews...Dr. O needs to just start tearing chunks of Carly's hair out and shoving them down her throat.

I’m sorry but baby Liam be guided to Heaven by his 1st cousin twice removed didn’t move me, no matter how much they retconned Mike. Like we’re supposed to believe that the man who abandoned both of his kids managed to be a father figure to Brando even though we saw him living in PC for like 15+ years. They are way overusing that trope and I don’t find it moving when the 2 people had no relationship. While I commend how well the Sasha actress did, the entire storyline was cheap, depressing Emmy bait.

I am resigned to the fact that Carson will be in EVERY story line, no matter the random or no connection.  It's obscene.  I keep thinking of how Michelle Stafford would have played Nina in Nixon Falls. And I smile.

Michelle Stanford would probably be up for a fistfight with Carly.  No hair pulling, but lots of actual pinching.  I would pay to see that.

For one brief moment I thought the writers might redeem themselves by giving Sasha and Brando a Christmas miracle and having Liam survive. I should’ve known better. What I don’t understand is why anyone thought this was an appropriate story to tell at Christmas?

because sometimes you don't get happy fairytale christmas endings. despite the drama and the side eyes and the "omg you are back from the dead. gasp." soap operas are basically dramatized slice of life. sometimes people have babies who die around the holidays as sad as it is.

I'd honestly appreciate a good depression story around this time of year because depression/suicide is at its peak during the christmas holidays, mostly because I do think soaps (esp. this one) really should get back to telling realistic (hospital-based) stories and more to life - realistically there is no "Pause! It's Christmas!" button so I don't really expect one on a soap.

as i've said. I've constantly asked for more medical storylines (less mobby ones) on GH, and i'm glad we're getting them and sometimes they're going to be sad or during the holidays or seen as "emmy bait." (i'd argue most storylines are so i don't see why this one should be different). and I'd rather this than Sonny gearing up for Mob Wars 202021818183 that he'll eventually win.

While I don't care for most of the characters involved, I have to give the show credit for the interwoven family scenes, with a full range of emotions - from hopeful (Scout), bitter (Curtis), tragic (Liam) and at a turning point (Leo).

Of course, Sonny and Carly were totally unnecessary except to prove even when it's decent, it's still TFGH.

And isn't that an inditement on GH's hair/makeup/wardrobe as well as lighting/camera people.  If you can do it at home, on your cell phone, then getting your shit together to make an actress look right on actual TV shouldn't be harder.

Thanks for the link!

I love www.wornontv.net

It's very surprising how much some of these clothes cost.

Hey guys, where is it that Stella and Hat Man were today? Cafe with succulents or Something on the wall? Is that part of Metro Court? Y&R has my favorite hangout, Crimson Lights. And it's always so nicely decorated for every holiday and season.

CM has such a natural charm and ease about him. And he is super hot. 🔥

I'd have a hard time deciding between him and Chase. *sigh*

Yes, that part was just unnecessary and just another way to shoehorn the Corinthi into absolutely everything. I could have also done without Elizabeth and the Dr. just standing in the back of the room and then then very public breakdown in the middle of the hospital with everyone looking on. But I still sobbed. Gladys should have been there though.

So the GH  FB page posted a link to this deleted scene from yesterday. Watching it, I completely understand why it was deleted. I mean, it shows two medical professionals talking about why they’re in that profession. And if they kept the scene, there would have been less time for Sonny praying. 🙄

That was a very nice scene. I liked Britt patting Elizabeth on the arm as she walked off. No big hug or anything that would have been disingenuous,  but a simple acknowledgment of their shared emotions and experiences as medical professionals.

Of course Carly had to be there because Nina is. Olivia can go shove it, she has no business telling Nina anything. Glad Nina gave it back to her.

When Carly talked about being there for Sasha, it felt strange.  I haven't seen that Carly is such a close friend of Sasha.  It really did seem like shoehorning her in, even as a supportive friend where it wouldn't be about her.  When is her vacation?  :)

More seriously, if he was in witness protection, just spit it out already.

It's probably not even that interesting.

I don't mind Liam dying because it's about time a hospital story had some stakes. We all know that when it's a main character, they won't die, so the story is pointless. At least with this one there was some suspense if Liam would survive. That he didn't is fine with me (insert my usual too-many-babies rant), and it was a fairly realistic story, as well. That doesn't happen too often on this fakakta show.

That was a very nice scene.  As I've said, I'm wary of the show softening Britt up too much, I like her having loyalty to certain people (Brad, Maxie, Nina), but I don't need her being besties with everyone, particularly someone like Liz where there's legitimate bad blood.  But this simple moment of two people in the same, emotionally-taxing profession talking about why was great, and the simple arm pat versus a hug, which would have felt disingenuous, was perfect.

Scout was cute last episode. I never give KM a compliment anymore but she seemed just a bit better with CM than she does with DZ in terms of having a connection on screen.  I see nothing in Sam and Dante and I find their romance painful to watch overall.

With that said, Drew continues to be too tidy and neat for me.  Too clean cut after spending 2 years locked up in a prison.  Everything is just fine and dandy and that's lame to me.  I like Drew regardless of who is playing him but I don't like my characters talking and acting like a Hallmark card.

This is a problem with the show overall though, characters are striped of any personality.

Edit: Curtis is super blah to me lately.  Jordan was more interesting than him.

The Liam storyline was handled well by all parties.  Gladys not included in the closing scene was kind of stupid.  It's the small details people!!!

I am liking Chase with BLQ.  Their contrasting personalities, should make for some funny scenes.  That's what I found intriguing about Jason and Britt........but that got blown to hell.

Finn and Liz are ok.  That being said, I would love for Hayden to show up and blow it to a million pieces!  Something about Violet's dad having relations with Violet's aunt, makes me want to throw up!

I have liked the Michael character for the most part, but this pairing with Willow is really pissing me off the more it continues.  I wouldn't mind seeing them doing a Thelma and Louise off the nearest cliff.

  • LOL 1
  • Love 2

Given that it featured two characters I couldn’t care less about (Sasha and Brando), that it focused on the most maudlin of soap tropes (the dead baby), and it gave Sonny yet ANOTHER opportunity to position himself as the wisest patriarch of Soap Nation, I should have hated this story. But I didn’t. It thought it was really well done. And the Sasha actress really surprised me, because I’ve always seen her as very limited. I’ll even give a pass to Angel Mike shuffle-escorting Baby Liam to the great beyond, because groan-worthy as it was, if that’s what Max Gail needed to earn one last paycheck, then so be it.

But please let this be the end of it. No memorials, no chest-pounding by Sonny and/or Gladys, just let Sasha and Brando mourn for a day then get on with the trajectory of their relationship. And then I’ll decide if they’re worth any more investment.

I do not care about Hat Man or Curtis’s daddy issues. You know how how GH is always starting storylines and then forgetting about them? This needs to be one of those storylines.

If GH wants us to see Michael as a badass leading man, then they need to hurry up and hire another actor. Because no. Absolutely not. The more he furrows his brow and stomps his feet, the more ridiculous he looks.

So is Mrs. Wu our new lady antagonist? Inheriting the mantle of Helena/Faith/pre-softened Liesl? I’m fine with it so far, especially since it gets Brad back on the canvas. Unless it ends with Britt as collateral damage.

I think Elizabeth and Finn are sweet. And there should always be room for an adult, mutually respectful relationship on the show.

Shut up: Olivia, Willow, Sam. And Joss, even though you haven’t been on this week. Just because. Always stay silent.
