I've been waiting for Dany's sack of King's Landing for five years, and this is what they gave us. Thanks, Benioff and Weiss, for not letting us enjoy anything.
Clegane-Bowl kind of saved it. Kind of.

I'm over it. We got eight seasons of Cersei being Cersei, and she gets a tragically romantic ending in the arms of Jaime (who should have been dead after that first stab wound). I cannot even be mad at Dany at this point. In fact, the only thing that would redeem the show for me would be if she got away with it. Let her sit on the throne. She took that shit by conquest because she could, just like her ancestors. 

At first I was like, uh, she realizes she isn't going to get the throne so she's like whoever is going to rule is going to rule over a wasteland. But now I'm not so sure. Also, this episode basically rendered most of this season and last season irrelevant. Dany and Drogon could have fucked Kings Landing up at the end of season six or beginning of season seven and been done with that.

Fuck D & D.  They ruined the entire series.  I won't be watching the Finale.

They should be cursed a berated everywhere they go for the rest of their lives.

They could not have thought this was anything but a horrible ending.  They decided to fuck with the fans simply because they knew they could.

They are going to cost HBO billions on the spinoffs that nobody will watch now

Which season was it where Bran or was it Dany had a series of visions, one included the dragon flying over Kings Landing..well we saw that scene tonight.  Was it S3??

Cersei died in the most unspectacular way...not happy with that, I really thought Jaime was going to kill her.  As hateful as she has been, why did I feel sorry for her when she was saying she wanted her baby to live. As for Jaime, he is my favorite character so I was disappointed that he still is in love with Cersei but darn it if they didn't sell me with those scenes.

I am sure many are unhappy with the way the story turned but this was a great episode in terms of cinematography, not so sure about the story though.

I am pretty sure they were always going to end up here but they could have gotten there in a much better way...pity we didn't have more episodes to connect the dots

Also Arya has to be one of the LUCKIEST mofo's out there..

I could maybe - MAYBE...probably not but MAYBE - come to grips with Dany's utter destruction of KL and the many economically enslaved and chained out of sheer fury despite this being against the character despite her rage and sorrow.

But I CANNOT and WILL NOT EVER be okay with Cersei getting off with a roof falling on her. There's a whole line of people who deserved to end that evil monster and that not one of them got to do it directly pisses me off.

The last scene between Tyrion and Jamie had me in tears.

And how did Arya survive AND find a white horse? Why not a flipping unicorn.

8 years of character building and they decided to assassinate everyone's character in one episode.

Where do I begin?

Jaime's redemption arc killed by him crawling back to Cersei and having us believe that this sick twisted relationship which Jaime finally severed was The Greatest Love of All.

Cersei, the sickest, most ruthless queen crying romantically in Jaime's arms. Wtf? 

Dany's reputation as a fearless and ruthless but ultimately humane queen ruined by her torching a city AFTER THEY SURRENDERED. And she torches innocent women and children yet doesn't torch Cersei who's standing out in the open on a balcony. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT???

And we don't even see Dany's thought process. We just see a dragon torching people for most of the episode. Emilia Clarke deserves better.

Jon Snow being a total spineless bitch who stands around looking confused. You know nothing, Jon Snow.

Tyrion and Varys being traitors so idiotic they'd be like some bumbling buffoons in a movie musical. 

At least we got the Hound dying a heroic death, and Arya showing her humanity till the end. But other than that, I have nothing good to say about this episode. If this is the ending they thought was best, then I don;t think D&D had any clue what was so great about this show.

Cersei another Mad Queen needed to be killed by one of the other characters not get a romantic edit ending. Which means Dany will get the strapped in the back ending. 

I know I'm supposed to be against Dany, but at this point with the complete character assassination, I'm all for her burning everything to the ground. The show is already ruined for me.

So . . . I guess the Mad King's command finally came true . . . 20 years later.  His psycho daughter followed his command to "Burn them all!"

The intermittent explosions of green wildfire were a great reminder of her father's legacy in the city.  Well, that and the fact that she went fucking nuts.

Remember when this show had great captivating dialogue? Now we get endless mayhem and destruction instead - nevermind the gazillion dangling plot threads that could have been resolved in those endless shots of collapsing rooftops and burning people.  And Arya arises from the ashes like the hero of a video game and of course the one single living being is a white horse *sigh* Guess we needed that pale rider.

I'm glad I was spoiled for this.

Kuddos to the actors who did their best to sell this. Tyrion saying goodbye to Jaimie was probably the best scene of the episode - and no CGI was required.

Holy shit, that was so much worse than I even imagined. They literally offered no motivation or explanation for Dany to lose her shit and try to kill everyone. Once the battle starts she’s just a mostly unseen monster flying around causing mayhem. The core heroine of the show, completely character assassinated by these writers.

I've now lost sympathy for Dany, which I'm sure was the plan.  Well, it worked.  I can now see Arya and Sansa ruling over all, with Jon saying I"m done and going north to Ghost.  

It's going to take me the whole week to process this.

even if dany was supposed to go mad according to GRRM they didn’t sell it. And yeah. Why didn’t they just donthis in season 6?

I blame Jon as much as Daenerys for this massacre, he gave her his blessing, he became his yes man, they all are guilty, including Tyrion. They knew she was a woman on a quest for revenge with a savior complex and with dragons. None of them did nothing to stop her.

I loved the episode because in reality people don’t act the way you want them to.  

I’ve worked with people who’ve done 180s because bad shit happened to them, so I know it happens in real life, so this episode didn’t bother me at all.

I am curious for all who hated it, what would you have preferred?
