And sorry, but that dude, Jake? was wrong. We do still need to mask up and social distance even after getting the vaccine. You have to give it time to...build up whatever (I'm no scientist or doctor, so blanking on the name) so we're protected. And really until herd immunity is reached and the pandemic dies the DEATH it deserves.

Yeah-that was irresponsible as hell of him to say that. I don't like him. I love Ana and my dream would be to see her as co-host of The View.

This article was from 12 yrs ago but it's still true today!

LMAO sure is! I think Meghan and Ben Shapiro are on good terms now, but this article is 100% right on. I totally remember Meghan flaunting her huge cleavage then acting all shocked about the stir it caused. I wonder if she's genuinely more modest now, because I can't picture her showing that much boob anymore. I was like this myself with skirts/leg. I cringe at some of the stuff I wore when I was just a little younger.

We always discuss MeAgain's hair--this twitter thread is hilarious, comparing her do's to food.

I would think that, with a new baby, sparkly sequins or jewels in your hair seems like a bad idea.

Maybe I'm just a stickler about it, but I recall having to be careful about dangly sparkly earrings that babies might grab, and babies putting everything in their mouths. it just strikes me as not something that moms of infants would want to do.

I considered the right place to post this was in MM's thread.

But I am stumped why ABC and The View keep MM.

I am frankly sick and tired of her whataboutisms and her stupid appearance pretending to be a serious pundit with sparkles.

It is embarrassing. Especially as a 36 year old with a baby and nannies pretending to be informed while in hair and makeup and taking selfies and watching housewives.

And pretending to be so, so innocent on The View when she is hooked on the Housewives.

@maggiemae Responding here since my post is exclusively Meghan related.

In defense of Housewives watchers as a whole, trust me most of us are nothing like Meghan. A lot of us do not care for the outrageous behavior some of them display. I'm rather innocent when not cursing over The View! lol There are beautiful women with designer clothes, living in mansions, driving hot cars, travel porn, it's fun escapism when you're a regular chick living a regular life. I'm not sure I'd watch at all if I were Meghan, since she already has such a luxurious lifestyle. She probably has more money than many of the housewives. And some of them (like Stephanie Hollman) are sweet people, not at all like Meghan. There are Housewives who care a lot about manners and don't curse (Kameron Westcott). Meghan of course gravitates toward Erika Jayne, the one who rocks the C word necklace and is very provocative and aggressive.

Real Housewives - I get it.

I haven't quit RHNY or OC but about this _ close, lol.

But MM thinks she is a very, very special R "pundint" and looks stupid doing it, imho, with all her sparkles. Vs being oh so up on any of the HW series.

IMO she can't be new mommy, political pundit, sparkles, selfies and reality shows all wrapped in one.

Meghan seems like to me, the kind of girl who falls for negging. Her choice of husband, friendship with Ben Shapiro, and her endless defense of Trump is the evidence. I say again, there would be no forgiveness to anyone who spoke about me the way Shapiro did about her. IDGAF how he justified it. I also would not marry a guy who said :I do not want" on an article about how to date her. I did a little Googling and saw an article that mentioned an  apology in the headline. I thought the apology would have been from Shapiro, but no. It was Meghan apologizing for posting the photo. I am not into that. That was bullshit. People have breasts. Die mad about it.

ETA: It causes me physical pain to ever defend the Princess.

Interesting point on the negging. I've wondered if girls with bad self-esteem fall for it. The women who do get nice men approaching them politely, calling them beautiful, I don't see why you'd want the jerk who'd put you down, even if it's in a "joking" manner. Sadly, females who don't get much attention sometimes will take any attention. Meghan's talked about being fat shamed, but she seems to know she's a beautiful woman and fancies herself super important because of MyFather. I don't understand why she'd want to be with someone who'd neg.

Where I 100% agree with Shapiro is him calling Meghan an attention hog, then pretending she's not. Women do indeed have breasts, but I don't buy that she thought a conservative pundit would be able to post that much cleavage without creating a stir. She's the same way now, just with the stuff she says. She's very provocative then acts all woe is me when she gets a reaction. To be clear, I do not think showing cleavage makes one a slut, and I do not condone any harassment Meghan might received over a photo. (I don't remember if the reaction was as bad as she says it was or not. She's like the boy who cried wolf, so I don't know what to believe.) One of my favorite View guests was actually Pamela Anderson (who Meghan was of course an ass to). I think Pam proves you can have a certain image and still be political. Unlike Meghan, Pam's sweet and real, a stark contrast to Meghan's rudeness and phoniness. I simply can't stand her "I'm just a sweet innocent conservative who minds my business, why all this fuss over me all the time? It's so painful being the only conservative woman on TV."

Meghan might be legit embarrassed by the photo, not because of Shapiro, because people change. I still like sexy clothing, but I am more modest in the office even if others are not, and I do not ever put anything risqué online. It's a personal decision to be taken seriously, and I'm not a public figure. If I were a conservative pundit, I'd probably be extra careful with what I posted.

LOL! I do it every once in a while myself. Such a weird feeling, isn't it?

Wow. That article was misogynistic and brutal. I cannot imagine ever forgiving someone for writing that way about me. I don't like Meghan, but this Shapiro guy is real piece of shit. Isn't this the same guy who didn't understand the benefits of a WAP?

In Shapiro's defense, his wife's a doctor and told him a WAP is a serious medical disorder.

But she isn't just any mom of an infant. She is Meghan McCain a View co host.  I guess that is supposed to mean something.

As much as I don't like Ben Shapiro it's how Meghan seemingly forgave him that bothers me.  If it had been a progressive who criticized her she would still be holding a grudge.  Her tribalism runs deep.

His name is Cenk, pronounced Chank. I agree he was wrong here.

I admit to not watching The View for a few years.  However, you cannot escape the "headlines" that have been regularly coming out on various websites, social media, Facebook, etc., regarding Meghan's outrageous talking points and behavior. Does this really boost ratings? I think that any of the other hosts would have been let go if they had gotten the kind of press and said the outrageous things that Meghan has.  If unchecked (and I think that is what is happening) she will burn the show down.  I enjoyed the show, mostly, until Ms. McCain's hiring.  A horrible "born on first base" example.  It is not even fun in a "train wreck" way anymore.

What's interesting is when most women have the colorful makeup and interesting hairdos in their 20's, Meghan's look was very tasteful and classic.

She is a strikingly pretty woman when her makeup is light. She even reminds me a little of Sharon Stone. If I had no idea who she was and how rude she could be, I'd just think wow, this woman's face is perfection. She's honestly more naturally pretty than much of Hollywood.

MeAgain, please play and experiment in the privacy of your own home. You aren't 12 years old anymore.

That was my first thought too.  We're all affected by Covid (well all of us choosing to be anyway) but MM manages to make it sound like she's the only one whose bored and needs a distraction.  You'd think with a brand new baby she'd have things to do but I guess not.

  • Love 10

I would think most women who recently had a baby wouldn't then revert to behavior that comes across like stuff people in their teens or early 20's without kids.  I wonder if becoming a Mom made her feel older in ways that are making her uncomfortable so she's resorting to this regressive weirdness.

I was pleased that she correctly identified herself as a bitch (but I suspect that in her view that's great and in mine it means you need to work on your personality).

Now if only she had added a few other words, like stupid, clueless, whiny, petulant, entitled, narcissistic, etc...  Well, I can't have it all, and as one of the 99%, I understand that.

I personally don't care how ridiculous she looks. But I get why it's so easy to comment on.

I actually think in a way she's right in her self-defence noted above, but only... in a way.

She's got her own agency, and having a baby is as good a rationale as any to experiment.

The problem is that she's Meghan McCain. A woman who proves pretty much daily how ridiculous she is.

So it's hard to accept logic we might from almost anyone else over her ridiculous fashion choices. Because most of us can't identify well with a woman who alienates us like clockwork on so many other topics.

Yes, that what I keep going back to.  Normally a new baby takes up all your time and attention.  She's spending her time in a chair, having others fuss with her hair and makeup.  I know there's a pandemic, and she can't go to bars. But can't she bundle up the baby in a stroller and take a walk? Do something, with her daughter?
