Because some people would rather trust what they've read on Facebook or Instagram or heard on Fox "News" than an actual physician, particularly if they think that physician might be <gasp> a Democrat (AKA commie/reptilian/cannibal/pedophile/Satanist).  Plus, they don't trust newfangled medications; if something is taken by horses and cattle it must be OK.  After all, COVID isn't actually bad; it's just being blown up by doctors and hospitals so they can make money and by politicians so they can take away people's rights and by Bill Gates so he can give everyone a microchip.

True, but the NYC area is very different from the Deep South.  I've lived in both places; it's less a different region than a completely different world.  From what I understand of NYC, low levels of vaccination in neighborhoods is probably more of lack of opportunity/access and suspicion of government that's based at least somewhat in history (people keep citing the Tuskegee syphilis study and such) rather than simply adherence to social media nonscientific nonsense.

There is plenty of opportunity and access. A good number of people refusing to vaccinate are health care workers.

About two thirds of health care workers in NYC are vaccinated which is significantly better than the overall NY vaccination rate of just over 50%.  Also, health care workers are far more likely to work in places where vaccines are mandated. I doubt anyone feels they are a group that needs to be targeted by vaccine ads.

For people like Guinn Seewald, I doubt there is any sort of advertising that would sway her.   Even pastors who were opposed to vaccination, got COVID and changed their minds seem to have a hard time convincing their congregations to do the same.

Some medical professionals, cops, fire fighters and teachers fall prey to the same nonsense as Guinn, and some have other reasons. But the vast majority of them are pro covid vax, or at least not anti covid vax, much like the rest of the population.

And if we're honest, if the government was withholding the vaccine, half of the same folks would be holding marches and demonstrations to get their hands on it.

I can see Jessa and Ben going either way on this one. Fortunately, we've seen no Q signs from either of them, although they could be keeping it on the down low.

It’s also used in small amounts to treat rosacea topically. Again, nothing at all to do with covid or any virus.
