They seem to be wanting to punish the masses for the outliers.

Weeks now and there's been no direction as to what the problems were. Is the problem snark? Is it a certain kind of snark? Was the issue posters commenting on the Duggars? Or was it how posters interacted with each other? 

This forum traffic has dwindled to an all time low. No one knows what to say because they don't want to contribute to the forum getting slapped down. 

Look I'll be blunt, this type of moderation comes off as abusive. It's very, you know what you did wrong and if you do it again there will be consequences. Meanwhile, we have no idea what we did wrong. Was it a few posters? Or all of us? So instead we walk on eggshells in order to not violate these unknown rules.

I've been on unmoderated forums, and it can suck. Moderation is necessary. Moderation without direction is cruel.

I think it's akin to when a company wants to fire you, but they have no real justification to do so, so they set new goalposts without telling you what they are or how to achieve them. The when you're fired, they can say you didn't meet expectations. It's just a workaround to put on paper that their firing was just, when in reality it wasn't. 

This forum has a certain demographic in race and age that doesn't appeal to DEI initiatives, so the way to boost their numbers to something more pleasing is to close down forums that are predominately their undesired demographic. It's all a game, and we're the losers in the game.

I also came here from TWOP and have been here 10 years.  There have been very few days where I haven't checked in at least once on the shows I watch.  Re the Duggars, I've seen almost all the episodes, so it was fun to check out each person's thread to see what was going on in their lives.  Keeping my fingers crossed that the Duggar threads won't be deleted.

I think it’s abusive, too. How can anything be improved when no one knows what they’ve done wrong?

Just wanted to provide update on my previous post about an ex-boyfriend who called me after 20 plus years to ask me out.  Well, it couldn’t have gone  any better.  He took me to eat at a place we used to frequent and it was like old times!  New owners, but very cordial.  We talked for hours!  I had the best time and he was so complementary!  I’d forgotten he’s 10 years younger than me.  He looked so nice.  He wore a dress jacket!  
 

He says he wants this to continue.  To sum it up, he says my lips are as soft and luscious as ever!  Can’t resist that!  Lol.  I am very happy with things so far.

I feel like I am asking myself to the party without benefit of invitation, but could someone please DM me with alternative sites for meeting? I rarely post but I do read this forum with great regularity. The sense of togetherness and support has been very important especially during the past summer. To be able to leave the "real world" for a few minutes everyday, enjoy the snark, worry about others and enjoy this community means the world.

Wasn't the point of TWOP (and this site) as being places for snark? I realize snark isn't for everyone,  but I think we've been pretty respectful and not nearly as snark as we could be.

I hope they don't close it down like they did the Royals thread. Just there, little to no explanation and not letting us react.

If anybody is interested in discussing the Royals, I might know of a place. DM me if you're interested.

Thank goodness, at least, that it took place in the middle of the night, and not at a rush hour, or even normal traffic time of day. My older son lives just outside Baltimore, and crosses that bridge regularly.

Just got word that MIL has passed. Now the survivor work begins. Thankfully, she already downsized a ton, but there's furniture that no one else will want to dispose of somehow. The funeral is already planned, so that's one less thing to do.
