Well, well, well. Some harsh truths today.

Kate is right - Marlena treats Eric better than Sami.  I can understand Marlena being pissed at Sami, but I FEEL the vibe.  Sami and Marlena are better living in different states/countries.  Marlena will NEVER approve of Sami's antics.  Whether or not she has cause to disapprove, she's not helping Sami with her coldness.  

Team Lucas ALL THE WAY.  

Sami is a freakin' idiot. She thinks she can just grab the baby and go to Italy -- where she WILL promptly turn the baby over to the nanny so she can be with EJ.  I get that she doesn't want Nicole to raise the baby.  And I'm actually okay with her keeping that grudge.  Sami has enough issues, getting to a mature forgiving spot with Nicole is low on the priority scale.  But she's also got an overinflated sense of self.  How IS Sydney doing?  Isn't she like 11 or 12? Her father is in a terrible state, her mother has run off to America for weeks, her half-sister just had a baby and took off, and her brother Johnny is .... where?  Staff is fundamental with EJ's illness, but adding a NEWBORN to the mix when there are other options is alarming.  Just two years prior Rafe had to fly to Italy to help out.  And shortly after Lucas went.  I really struggle to see how Sami is doing what is BEST for the baby.  

Family Options:
- Give Lucas custody
- Give Will and Sonny custody
Both options have the wherewithal to handle a newborn.  

I have no problem ignoring Allie's wishes.  I GET that Allie is traumatized by Sami in her own way.  Fair enough.  Get counseling and don't treat your child like a WEAPON.  Leaving town without any legal standing for the baby demonstrates in spades why she would not be a fit mother. 

 

Onto happier bits:
- Now we know why no decision has been made at Titan -- Victor/Maggie went from 'couldn't attend the wedding because Maggie had a cold' to Victor/Maggie just came back from an extended trip to Greece.  *softly sings* 'Let's do the time warp again!
- I LOVE that Sarah's phone lists Xander as "Dopey".  Team Xarah all the way.  I DO need Xander to get his hair coiffed a bit better.  I didn't mind Sarah being in that chemical-giddy phase of relationship renewal.  Totally unprofessional but I thought it was kinda nice they got back to that stage.  SO many times couples get back together and it's all egg-shells.
- Justin, keep the hat.  Keep Bonnie on an e-mail only basis, she's no good for you.

Sydney is 2 years younger than the twins, so she is an adult as is Johnny.

Yes, Rafe went 2 years ago to help out Johnny (who was either presorased 11 or sorased 20) but he was only there for 2 weeks. Around that same time Lucas after being lied to by Bonnie about the baby being his, he decided to move to be closer to Allie (either 11 or 20 years old) and he got concerned because she drank a bit too much wine. This was also around the first few months of EJ's care with his 3rd degree burns, so Sami's focus was on him.

Lucas blamed Sami for Allie getting pregnant and for running away but somehow took zero responsibility even though he has been living near Allie for the past few years. Despite her behavior, Allie was an adult when she got pregnant, so this does not all land on Sami's shoulders.

Yes EJ probably will need staff for his medical care but Sami is living in a freaking villa and is a multi-millionaire. She has servants for the day to day care of home and medical attendant would be doing the heavy burden of EJ's care.

Adding a baby with Sami's resources is not going to be difficult for her especially has she has years of raising three young children by herself for long stretches of time.

I liked the Marlena/Kate scenes. Even though they don’t see eye to eye, they didn’t let it affect their friendship. They remain classy and respectful of each other. Wish other characters would take note.

So no one noticed that Sarah Horton got a major hair cut?

Belle should have arranged for a civil meeting, complete with professional mediator if need be, with Sami, Lucas, Eric, and Nicole to discuss Allie's letter asking Nicole to look after the baby. Of course, Sami doesn't want her brother, and especially Nicole, looking after the kid. Sami would take it to Italy and hire a couple of nannies and maybe spend an hour or two per day with her grandchild. Nothing to do with finding the best temporary parents for the baby - just her own anger and spite. Eric and Nicole were mature and matter of fact. Allie did not ask if they had an interest in adopting her baby and no one has any idea if or when the father will show up. It's not just a case of here's a restraining order, you can't keep the kid, but someone else can take the kid, pay all the hospital bills and take it wherever. Where was social services or whatever the Salem equivalent is? There should be a list of pre-approved foster parents until Allie returns and does the adoption thing or whatever.

Victor and Maggie spent a few weeks in Greece? Thought she was sick. Guess she was well enough to travel by private jet.

Justin - keep the hat, but keep contact with Bonnie at an email level.

Marlena and Kate at least can admit they weren't the best mothers, but overall were good ones - when spun the right way.

Dopey aka Xander was a bit of fresh air.

I'm guessing Salem University Hospital has no social workers who would be looking after an abandoned infant. The court needs to appoint a guardian ad litem, who will look after his best interests. I find this whole storyline infuriating.

Remember that the scenes we are seeing this week (new haircuts, etc.) are the first shows that were shot after the long November break. They finished up those shows last week or so. There has been a lapse of a few months since these people have filmed. But, it was before the pandemic shutdown, so haircuts were no problem then.

My God, Sarah try and act like a professional at work. I can forgive checking the phone once but that she freaking kept doing it throughout the conversation was ridiculous.

"I believe in you, Xander." The guy who lied to you about ten billion times. Such sound judgment from that one. I'm on the fence about the haircut. It doesn't look bad, but it's definitely an adjustment. 

I enjoyed the interplay between Nicole, Eric, and Justin (I always almost write Ned.) It was fun. I had to laugh at how everyone who hires Justin has a line thrown in about how he's the best when he loses nine out of ten of his cases. He is not the best and show really needs to stop trying to sell that with words when they don't with actions.

Sami infuriates me about 70% of the time and is definitely infuriating me now. I don't care that she has a valid reason for hating Nicole, it's still so tired. But I still adore the heck out of Lumi. Their dynamic was on full display yesterday. Their feelings for each other are complicated but they just fit together. I LOVED that Lucas didn't care one bit about EJ and refused to led Sami just take off with his grandson.

One line from Sami that made me want to slap her was her objection to Lucas wanting to take the baby to the DiMera mansion. She was just fine marrying into that family, but Lucas wanting to take the baby there is supposedly some out there idea.

Nice mature conversation between Marlena and Kate. 

I get that the show is majorly strapped for cash and can't afford many sets but the way they go about having people staying at places they have no business staying in makes no sense character-wise and plot-wise. I don't care about big Victor's mansion is, some of the people they force to live there have no business being there, ditto for those at the DiMera mansion. As others have pointed out, Sami is loaded. Regardless of not permanently living in Salem, she should have plenty of other places she could stay beyond staying with a mother she barely gets along and who doesn't approve of her current actions.

Did not need to see Xarah porn again. I wish Xander didn't give a damn about Victor or Titan. He has been taking care of the company while Brady is off running from authorities but Victor couldn't toughen up and name him CEO without Brady's say? Brady doesn't care about this company so Victor needs to get over it. Also, are we to believe that Brady ignores Victor's call but immediately picks up Xanders call? The guy he hates? ok, sure. lol I heard Victor say "Texting Ciara" and I was wondering why she would be happy for Xander, then I realized he said Sarah😆😄

But Sorry Xander, Philip is my 😍 and if he wants Titan I will root for him. If they fight it out, i hope it is better than the garbage going on at Dimera 🙄

Lani's entire pregnancy will be her running to the hospital every time she gets heartburn or feels a kick and fearing what Eli will think of her. ugh. Hope she clocked out before going to the doctor. Her and Sarah should hangout. We need female friendships on this show and both couples need some sexless activities.

I don't know if Eric is an idiot, stupid, dumb or slow but there is nothing in that letter that would change Sami's mind about letting Nicole raise her grandchild. There is nothing to workout, Nicole wants the baby and Sami does not want her near him. Court is the only option if you are not backing down. Sami made her feelings for Nicole known at the wedding so I don't know why he even brought her to agitate Sami more. Idiot. The way Eric basically said Allie wants Nicole to raise the baby and he can come along too highlights one of the big problems with this story. This is a Nicole vs Sami story when it should be an Allie story, Allie vs father/father's family story, or even an Allie vs Sami story. Everyone else is an afterthought, even Lucas comes off like a bad father in this just so we can get down to Nicole and Sami.

This show is trying to write Nicole as a bitch and saint at the same time but all I see is a bitch. Today really shows that she loves that she can stick it to Sami. And for the love of soap gods, WHO GIVES A FLIP WHAT ALLIE WANTS. She has been nothing but an immature, selfish brat from the beginning. She is not capable of determining what is best for anyone and was playing ping pong with that baby until she ran out of town leaving no legal guidelines for who should have the baby even though she KNEW Sami wasn't going to let Nicole have him. No one should care what she wants. Why is Sami making it about her? Because it was always about her. None of this would be happening if Allie didn't want to go against mommy for not caring enough but also being too overbearing. Only focusing on EJ but also running every part of her life. I will say again, this story is written for a 16 year old, not a 21+ college graduate.

I am not really a fan of physical fights on soaps anymore, but I really wanted Sami to slap Nicole when she started acting like she knows anything about Sami and Allies relationship outside of Allie's childish view. I want Sami to just say F it to her family and throw it in Nicoles face how Holly is going to hate her someday for marrying the man that ran down her father, then move out of the townhouse and get a new lawyer. Anyone can beat Justin.

I can't do anything but 😒🙄 at Eric and John acting like Sami has destroyed the family and all their lives because she doesn't want her grandchild raised by the woman that stole her daughter. "She has gone too far". Did any of them care about the kids while Sami was the only parent they had? When Sami was dramatic back in her hey day, people called her on it, but everyone indulges Allie like she is a child and not a full grown woman. I really want to know what makes Sami so bad now? If the father came to town and wanted his kid would he also be a bad guy for not respecting Allie's wishes?

As for Eric, yeah, he's just all those things, dumb, stupid, moronic and slow, and VERY annoying.  He gives Sami all sorts of attitude about EJ but he's just fine saddling himself with a woman who has literally terrorized his family.  I usually mostly enjoy Nicole.  Right now, I'm hoping Julie turns cannibal and eats her.

Hi!  This is a big ask, and if y'all want to tell me to go kick rocks, I'll go kick rocks.  BUT, today I was getting my nails done today and Days was on.  I grew up on CBS soaps that I don't even watch anymore, but I really wanted to understand the couple fighting with the lady about a baby.  The couple was maybe trying to take the lady's baby, which seems to be her daughter's and her daughter wrote a letter.  They were all fighty about it, and then an older man came in and they all looked like they got busted.  

It seemed like the lady was in the right, and that the woman half of the couple was way out of line. But who are the lady and the man half of the couple to each other?  Who was the older man?  Who should really have this baby?  Where are the baby's parents?  How old are they and why aren't they taking the damn baby?  Why do I care?  Anyone?  Lol.

The lady and the man half of the couple are twins.  The lady is the grandmother to the baby.  The mother of the baby is a 21 year old or something. We don't know who the father is.  The mother left a note saying she wanted her uncle and aunt to have the baby.  I don't know why you care:)

Also, the female (Sami) and the other female of the couple (Nicole) have been archenemies for two decades. 

The mother of the baby (Allie) has never been around Nicole when she was growing up and the only time that she has spent any time with her has been when she disappear from home and invited herself to live with her uncle Eric (Sami's twin) and Nicole and has lived with them for maybe two months. She kept her pregnancy secret because she didn't want her mother to find out but Allie went to Salem where her mom's family lives and swore them all to keep it a secret.

When Allie went to see her older brother Will, she decided after a brief conversation with him and his husband that she didn't want to raise the baby. Within an hour after that conversation, she meets up with her former stepfather (his name is not important) and decided after another brief conversation that she is going to give him her baby even though she has not seen him since she was 7.

First guy really was ambivalent because he got got burned after losing custody of boy that he tried to adopt and Sami went to her former exhubby and told him it was a bad idea for him to adopt.

Will and his hubby asked Allie if they could adopt her baby and she said yes.

Nicole found out that Sami talked to her exhubby and told Allie that her mother bullied exhubby into not adopting her son.

Nicole also told Allie that her brother found out about Sami;s conversation and kept quiet, so Allie got mad at her and brother, and said he couldn't adopt the baby now.

Allie goes into labor, demands her mother to leave in the delivery room and insists that Nicole be there. After giving birth, Allie held her baby once, had a nice conversation with her mom and let Sami hold the baby. When Sami returned baby to the hospital nursery, Sami, Eric and Nicole head back to Allie's hospital  and discovered that she disappeared.

Allie left a note that said her mom has to control and ruin everything but she wants Nicole......and Eric to adopt the baby.

And oh, Nicole has slept with Sami's two brothers, her father, her exhusband and her husband.

And also oh, Nicole fake giving birth to a baby and bought a baby from a confused young teen girl. Minutes after that baby was born, she engineered for Sami who was in labor to go to this doctor's clinic who secretly was selling babies on the blackmarket, and she switched the babies minutes after Sami gave birth.

The baby Sami thought was hers died of Meningitis a few months after she was born. 

Meanwhile Nicole spent a full year pretending that Sami's real baby was hers. And when the truth was discovered, Nicole once again kidnapped the baby and left town until the cops finally arrested her.

Sami doesn't want the Nicole to have anything to do with her children or her grandchildren because Nicole kidnapped her daughter and said nothing even after the other baby died.

"Allie is a CHILD!" NO SHE IS NOT. While she's written to act like a petulant 12 year old, she is actually 21-22 years old. Sami just refuses to understand that her only motivation in getting the baby is to stick it to Nicole. I get it. Nicole has done horrible things to Sami and her family - but Sami isn't going to win a fight bleeting on about just that and not providing any concrete evidence as to why she's the best caretaker.

If Lani is this antsy regarding her unborn babies, she is going to be the worst helicopter mom ever.

There is a lot of bad blood between Nicole and Sami so Sami does not want them raising the baby. Also They are the third group that Allie has tried to pawn this kid off on so take that as you will when it comes to her judgement, lol. The older gentleman, John, is married to Sami's mom and he has been in their life for most of it. They were in his townhouse. Allie is 21+ and we don't know the dad. I am rooting for the dad to pop up and claim his child and if not, let it go with Sami because she does not live in Salem and i am already tired of Nameless.

Sami has mentioned Nicole stealing Sydney before. She mentioned it last week in the hospital with Eric and Nicole.

Well, that's an hour I'll never get back.  Two, really, I watched both yesterday's and today's shows together.

I get why some people are completely over Sami.  I'm not one of them, but I get it.  My problem with this storyline is that Show is pitting her against Nicole and stacking the deck in Nicole's favor.  I like Nicole, crazy psychopath that she is, and I enjoy Sami, ditto, but when it comes to the two of them, Nicole should NEVER win over Sami, EVER, and any member of her family - including Eric - who sides with Nicole over Sami should be locked in a room for 24 hours with Julie on meth.  

Nicole stole her kid, end of story (for me).  Show dressing Nicole like a wannabe nun in that high necked black number might make her look like a postulant, but it's just drag to me.  

I try to like Eric, and I manage for a day or two, but then he becomes insufferably pouty, judgy and dim-witted.  He's just so boring and stupid.  Nicole and him have about as much heat as Justin and that Lockhart thing.

Justin looks even more like an idiot than Show has made him recently, having anything to do with that knock-off Adrienne.  I've got less than no interest in Bonnie Lockhart, unless, this time, they stake the body, fill her mouth with garlic and expose her remains to the sun.  Bring back Adrienne, I'll ask no questions, I promise.

Marlena, giving Sami crap looked like she ate a sour pickle.  She went off to "buy formula" with all the sainted martyr affect of her son Eric.  What a pain in the ass, you can see where Eric gets it.  

Any chance Allie is really gone?  Please?  As for her kid, donate it to a petting zoo, airmail it to Carrie, set him free in an air balloon, I DON'T CARE.

He certainly looks fresh and handsome in today's epi unlike the caveman outlook a few years back.

I really do love watching Sami and Lucas together and I so wish they were still together. Bryan and Ali work so well together.

So far the main thing I'm taking away from this week's episodes is that things would be so much more interesting (to me anyway) if Marlena would just admit that she hates Sami. She knows that Sami has a legitimate reason (Sydney) to want Nicole to stay far away from her grandson yet she's Team Nicole...(and sometimes Eric). If they were just up front about Marlena hating Sami then this would make sense because of course she wouldn't think it was a big deal that Nicole kidnapped Sami's daughter for a year.

Enjoyed Sami and John pulling pigtails with each other, mostly because I can't remember the last time I've seen John look so alive.  But it's been a few weeks since John or Marlena have suffered A Great Personal Tragedy®️, so I suppose it makes sense that the whole thing ended with John collapsing.  

Phillip had such a smarmy expression as her entered Victor's throne room.  This might be interesting?
