I feel to a certain extent it’s ruining the boards too. I’ve dropped off several boards I used to participate in - it’s gotten so seriously negative and just downright nasty. I tend to believe this is a result of so many people being worn down by the effects of the pandemic. 

We are keeping it together pretty well here on the RHoNY board but others, ugh no. Kadooz to us 🍎 

I had such high hopes for the birthday party and it was really lame. Nice eye candy but otherwise it was nothing but gathering the talent and delivering lines. I loved the parties in days of yore with mingling and antics. Damn you Covid. And Leah.

I know what you mean. I think that in earlier seasons, the stupidity and materialism was offset by charity work, careers, and the genuine love for their family and children. Since "Real Housewife" is now their career and most of their children have left the nest, there's nothing left but attention-seeking and money-grubbing.

 

That said, my favorite line of the night: "I'm not a good singer, obviously, but I have GREAT ENERGY!!" 😁 Oh, Ramona. Never change.

Obvious to me was that Leah's concern with the song was that it drew attention away from her onto Luann.  In Leah's world, that's an issue.  She's a total camera whore who will do anything for the time & attention. Same thing with the birthday party, she just had to do something to get the focus off others and back on her.  She's constantly flouncing around, contorting & damn near fondling herself for camera time.  She's exhausting to watch and nowhere near as interesting as she thinks she is. 

Frankly, I was shocked she didn't pop up at the boxing gym. They must've purposely not told her they were filming that day.

I could not believe that Miss Know it All Eboni would do something the rest of us learned not to do in elementary school. They should just end the season now and either move on to the reunion or not, but pull it from the schedule, or play reruns from earlier seasons, pre-Leah and Eboni. I do believe that Leah has managed to surpass Brandie as the worst housewife ever.

I was falling asleep by the end of the episode but wasn’t Leah dancing around the party like some kind of weird fairy when they served her cake choice of a penis and vagina? I used to see penis cakes at bachelorette parties for much younger women. I didn’t think they were a thing a 60 plus birthday party.

Agree with all who noted that Eboni has worse manners than the average 8-year-old.  You never mention a social event you're planning in front of someone you are not planning to invite.

Black Shabbat...  Did Eboni call it an "event" or a "party"?  (Maybe if someone put a gun to my head, I would rewatch to see, but until then, I depend upon the kindness of strangers for clarification.). Shabbat is definitely not a party.  There are a lot of commonalities between the Black and the Jewish experiences, and as a Jew myself, I am always happy to see them elucidated.  (In fact, I think the estimate is that as many as 15% of American Jews are people of color.)

I think you've nailed it.  Talking about genitals and bringing genital cakes is not edgy, or fun, or titillating, or pushing the envelope, or anything else she wants to think of herself as.  It's just played out and boring.  These are grown women who know what genitals look like.  Leah has nothing else to bring so she goes back to trying to shock the women.  She is only going to disgust or embarrass them.  What a great friend. 🙄

Forgive my ignorance and I do not mean this in any kind of way other than for information, but what EXACTLY is a "black Shabbat"???  

I know what Shabbat dinner is, but I've never heard of a "black Shabbat"?  Is there a difference?  Does the menu vary from traditional Shabbat dinners?  I'm guessing that because it is held in a Jewish person of color's home, that is why it is called that?  

I just don't understand - why not just call it what it is - Shabbat?  Why pull race into it?  And, why exclude the one other person of color in the group?  That was such bad manners on Eboni's part.  I'm surprised Luann didn't chastise Eboni for her bad manners, LOL!!

I just feel like this is another stunt event to enlighten and educate the core group of women (namely, Luann, Sonja and Ramona) to whatever it is Eboni is feeling that they need to be educated about.  I agree with Ramona when she was trying to explain this, in her usual Ramona fashion.  Ramona is so over the teaching moments and Eboni trying to enlighten her.  

Does this mean we are going to get another "teaching moment", only this time, it will be Eboni lecturing about her thing, and Leah trying to enlighten us all with her new-found, but NOT completed (and never will be) conversion to Judaism?   Can't wait to see how all that goes!!!

Big side-eye to Eboni for excluding Bershan from her "Black Shabbat" party but invited her white "friends". 

I can't do another season with L & E. Lu, Ramona, I guess Sonja, promote Bershan, bring back Dorinda (even Slurinda is welcome, at this point), and any other former RHONY wife or some actually cool/fun/chaotic new wives to round out the cast. Leah and Eboni are not "the future of the franchise", they are its demise.
