My understanding is that Christian and Sutton were childhood friends. I don't think either of them came from significant wealth although they were probably upper middle class. His father was an English professor and his mother was a teacher.

Coincidentally he is a very high level executive at PIMCO which is the firm which fired Gina's husband after he was arrest.

Sutton's husband has been working in finance in high level positions for 20 years or so and it is not surprising that he accumulated a lot of money. Hell I know people who were middle class and invested their money and retired with $3 million.

ETA I think Sutton’s husband have real wealth as he was probably  earning millions each year and also invested it wisely. I was just pointing out that middle class people can have a few million in assets if they invested and so Sutton’s wealth derived from her husband would be very large. Keeping the store enables her to deduct all the jaunts to Europe as business expenses so keeping the store closed was a meaningless expense. I doubt whether it is a huge profit center even in the best of times.

Erika showing up in the end in that dress like she's going to say "I'm Mrs. Norman Maine" into a microphone is hilarious to me.

She was walking like the Queen of England.

It reminded me of her haughty expression when they were in Berlin and a motorcycle cut her off as she was ready to cross the street

Kyle and Rinna are both so basic, they would show up in the same dress.  I like how Rinna says “Who knows, there could be another!”  I’m sure the dress is high-end and not cheap, but to me it looks like a dress you would wear after you found it by typing “Parisian theme dress” on Amazon Prime.

I typed those three words and found this! And I think I want it!

I would totally get dressed up to go to someone’s house if the host wanted that—and my friends’ houses are just normal-people houses. I think it would be fun (especially after this last year, man—I have a ton of clothes that got zero attention!). And I thought Dorit’s YSL (?) Mad Men outfit was pretty great.

IF She is worth 2million which i just googled that's still a awful lot of money to be spending per year and there is no way she can keep that up... Granted I am sure her ex husband pays child support and all but still

I feel that is a bit low, no? I don't think $2 million can buy her that lifestyle in BH.

Not anywhere hat I know of.

It does here! I was 4 pounds heavier last night than I am right now. And I will probably be 2 pounds heavier than that if I try the damn fool scale again in an hour, and 3 pounds lighter if I weigh myself at 6 pm. You can fluctuate all day long. It's stupid and annoying and now I just judge myself by how my clothes fit.

She shouldn't be weighing herself at all.

I laughed that Peekay was all bent about leaving early because he didn't get to eat.  Spending 95K on a purse, ugh, that is what I owe left on my mortgage and my house is a lot bigger than the freaking house on the purse. I actually like the outside of Rinna's house, very Tuscan looking, but I think the interior needs a complete gut.  I am at that age now, where if I can't roll up to my BFF's house for a girls night in elastic waist pants (Covid, you bastard) I aint going

Ugh me too! I love clothes. I envy people who have tons of dressy events. When you live a "regular" life for the most part, just wearing a cute dress can be extra to some folks.

Most of these sites that list net worth are totally inaccurate.

They will have confused net income with net worth. It is very possible that Sutton and her husband each earn $2 million a year. The totally of their net worth including stocks, bonds, an investment portfolio, vested pension accounts and equity on their real estate would be considerably more than that.

You can’t trust anything you read n the internet.

Sutton has been doing better with the fashion wearing. For example the short red sparkly dress worn in a segment intro is pretty and looks good on her.

Then Kyle's party came about & it seems she had one of those temporary blindness episodes of hers, got dressed during, and hot footed it out of the house before the Minders were able to get a good enough grip on her.

I had to freeze the screen to make out the print -- I believe it's insane cartoon cats having an altercation in a dirty alley?

Sometimes I think her purchases must be spasm-like -- where perhaps she's having an emotional day and the stylists/salespeople are waiting for her with all the unsellable  dresses the designers came up with while experimenting w some new "designer" hallucinogen (or detoxing from same) in gleeful anticipation that she'll be taking them off their hands...

Who is Christian?

Christian is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Credit Research for PIMCO (I looked it up). It’s a $2.2 trillion (yes trillion) institutional investment management fund. It makes the very prestigious $75B real estate fund I used to work for look like peanuts. With bonus - I’m guessing he could easily make $3M a year. Probably more. She’s got real money. Suck it Erika.

In other news, I was bored to tears by this episode. I’m only back to watch the implosion of Erika Jayne - get to it people.

I did a double take and salivated over that Hermes bag though. Feel free to judge away! I’m a bag whore. Don’t own a Hermes though (yet), cause as like a few who mentioned up above, I tend to be hard on things (ask Mr. DC), and I’d depreciate that $10K in a hot minute (it’s actually a good investment BTW). And I’d give that money to charity before I’d spend $95K on a handbag (even if I had it to freely spend).

In my defense - I’m not into clothes, jewelry or shoes and none of my bags have ostentatious logos splashed all over them (even the Louis Vuitton). Some of my favorites are no-name, handmade that cost less than $400. They’ve been very lonely since Covid (insert sad smiley face).

I like the outside of Rinna's house, too.  And like the back garden.  But the inside looks like someone who doesn't quite know what they're doing tried to do 'Tuscan'.  The first season she was on and was inside the house didn't she mention that it was Harry's house and he didnt want her to change things?

And to the ones of you who know law-- if Erika has hidden assets and divorces Tom, would she be able to keep those assets as long as no one rats her out? And could she then turn on him and give evidence against him to get herself off in a deal?  (I've heard just enough to know I don't know enough)

As always, I find it hilarious that designers can get people to spend $95,000 (or whatever outrageous amount) on an ugly assed purse. When they first showed it sitting on the table at Crystal's house, I thought it was one of her kids' lunch boxes. Or maybe BH kids don't carry lunch boxes? Or do designers make those too for the kids of pretentious people?

Speaking of Crystal, I have figured out why she was so stressed at Lake Tahoe. She didn't have her nanny Lucy to take away her stress, like she has in BH where Lucy deals with the kids. If Crystal had to deal with her kids herself, Sutton would be a piece of cake.

Why on earth was Kyle wearing a bra with the Who Wore It Best dress? Rinna wore it best by a long shot.

I really like how Doreet handled Kyle in their talk. And as an aside, PK does look like he lost weight. And he is one of the few people I have seen who looks better in specs that without.

I think it's hilarious that all PK has to do is clean up and dress age appropriate and so many thinks he looks good.   He did look much better, that's for sure but geez, Kyle had to have her nose broken to look better this season than last.

And speaking of the ill-styled Kyle I confess I love her [new] house even more than her old house - mostly because of the outdoor space.   It's HUGE and that area they were sitting would have been so nice this past year, especially in SoCal where the weather allows you to sit outside.

Didn’t see the episode, but enjoying your comments. $95,000 for a handbag, you say??  Please.

I’m so common and don’t recognize many handbags.  I’m all about lightweight and function.  (I want a holder for my pen!!!! lol). I have a hard time spending $50, much less $100!

But that’s one of the fun reasons to watch these shows.  Wow.

Ha! Very funny.

I coveted it, too. And it entertained me the way Kyle couldn’t focus on her conversation with Krystle/Crystal Gale because that bag was pulsating. (paraphrasing:) “I have no idea what she’s saying because all I can see is that bag.”

Hermès is irrefutably overpriced and status-driven. However, if you examine the bags and the men’s ties….

Swoon….

There is sooooo much labor and attention to detail with regards to the bags. When I was not a mother, and my disposable income was just piling up, I bought a Kelly bag. I never carry it because it’s ostentatious and not practical. But it still makes me happy.

The ties make me happy because the detail in the patterns is magnificent and sweet.

Just my $.02.

Sutton has to be worth more than $2MM, or she's going to be out of money in about...now. That same site has Dorit at $50MM, and I thought their money was pretty well established as smoke and mirrors - or at least no where near $50MM.

PK really brought home the fact that I love men in glasses.  I was so relieved later when he was back to looking like a boiled ham later in the episode.

Dammit, I hate commenting on women's bodies, so I will just say that every time I see Sutton I get a hankering for a hunk o' cheese.  I will also say I love her shirt with the two cats facing each other (and am so jealous she can wear it - with my bustline it would be very 3D [3DD, lol]), and also her new talking head look (the one with the GINORMOUS earrings that I  don't love) her hair looks ah-maze-ing.

I was crying on the floor at the idea of spending $350K on a car, and then there was a $100K handbag.  Jiminy christmas.

Yeah, Sutton has to be worth a ton more than $2 million, or getting money from somewhere else.  Using the common 4% rule, $2 million only yields $80,000 a year.

Her ex-husband must either make a ton more than that, or she has $ from somewhere else, or something.

Then again, in future seasons, I would not be surprised One. Bit. if her ex-husband turns out to be a ponzi schemer, and poor Sutton has to start shopping at Target, like the rest of us.

No fan of Rinna, but isn't it pretty normal to share a struggle you're intimately familiar with since your kid just went through it?

Absolutely!  It's a way to show compassion and understanding.  As in, "Hey, I hear you, we went through that".

But the way Rinna did it was to bring attention back to herself, as she even went over to Crystal's husband and talked to him about it.  Remember, he said he wasn't even aware that Crystal had shared that with the ladies?  Rinna is all about Rinna.

I was so glad when Rinna showed up in it because it sure looked like Kyle was wearing a visible bra with a backless dress, but I just couldn't believe it.  It had that gold part on it so I held on to a hope that it was part of the design of the dress, but it was in such a weird place, right by the little tie.  I was thinking, "I hope she paid for that dress because I can't imagine being a designer and lending a dress and having the wearer do something like that."

Then Rinna shows up and the dress looks like it's supposed to look.  Which is cute, not confounding.

And like you, I think Rinna wore it best.  There's just something about Kyle that makes it look like all her clothes are wearing her instead of the other way around.

Yup, it was an expensive bag for sure but maybe Tiffany "borrowed," it like some many rich and famous or just rich people do.  I get a weird vibe from her husband, am I alone in thinking he is awkward?

Sutton test driving the Rolls or was it a Bentley, it cost nothing to test drive a car, she may want to lease it and even that would be a hefty monthly fee but my thought was she may be burning thru her money ala Sonja, is her money tree sustainable?

If we were to do a "Who Wore it Better," between Rinna and Kyle in the polka dot dress, I would have say Rinna, Kyle is too short and squat to the big busy sleeves and large dots, also she wore a bra with it, the strap showing did not add to the look, it detracted.

Erika arrived in a very prim and proper almost dowdy dress, not a flashy outfit she would usually don when a theme is involved, so unlike her, was she trying to look humble?

Rinna and Harry's fire drill was sort of amazing as was his gardening skills...most of us do not have a spare pool as a water reserve for a fire hose but it makes sense for them.

Dorit looked great, I am not a wear a logo girl but I would change my mind if someone gave me that LV dress.

I absolutely cannot stand Sutton's clothes. The patterns/designs are hideous. The shift dress gives her the figure of a barrel. I hope she is reading this. Please cinch your waist. Give yourself a flattering silhouette and add some length. The only thing she does right is to have the dresses above the knee. Otherwise, she could've saved a ton of $$$ and found better suited clothing in an ordinary store that us peons shop in. Or Nordstrom, Saks, Neimann Marcus (which I can't afford anyway) but would be a deal for her.

In my opinion, Kyle dresses like she's forever 21.  Nine out of 10 times she is wearing something that doesn't fit her body type or just plain ass tacky.

She's got beautiful hair but she needs to lop off about 6 inches of it too.  No bangs, just lob it off -- it's weighing her down.

Although I felt bad yesterday thinking it's probably not something I should speculate on.

I was trying to figure out why Sutton walking in would be so traumatizing for her. I mean, we've all been walked in on in naked/compromising positions before and I understood the embarrassment and her being angry -- don't come in unless you are told to come in.

But I did wonder if maybe there's a reason she brought up the eating disorder other than to punish Sutton for stressing her out.  It makes me wonder if her "it's under control" was a direct denial in case that's what Sutton did actually see something odd going on (she was upset that Sutton appeared to suggest she was doing something strange  -- but it doesn't appear that Sutton saw her vomit.) Did she worry that Sutton could hear something?  Was Crystal naked so she didn't get it on her?

Or maybe the barging in on her brought make memories of being busted or nearly busted when she was younger and vomiting?

There must be some reason why she kept reassuring everyone she is under control and then making sure people knew the 5 pound loss was due to not eating b/c of stress, not bulimia.
