Shocking as it may seem, but I agreed with Meghan and her sparky hair part with regards to Neera Tandem.

I had heard some time ago that she was offered up as a sacrifice. If she was denied office it would be harder to not confirm other nominees.

I agree with both comments.  Sunny's suggestion that because worse people were approved in the last 4 years is a good reason to approve Tandem too made no sense.  The new administration wants to distance itself from scummy people and may have offered up a sacrificial lamb to prove their point.

Merrick Garland seems like a lovely person

This is why some people hate politics, why waste people's time with gamesmanship.

Megan's fury regarding Neera Tanden had me rolling my eyes and she needs to get a grip. Plus, she looked awful today.  She looked like a football player and her shoulders are huge.

SO Meganutz is a huge fan of the 'Real Housewives' series - especially Atlanta. That could explain her cattiness on the show and sniping with Joy and Sunny - she forgets she's on 'The View' and thinks she's part of the 'Real Housewives' cast.

Well, talk about being one way on TV and then another way in "real life".  I guess she's not really as "real" as she claims to be.  She acts like a virgin in a whorehouse on The View - clutching her pearls whenever anything even closely related to sex comes up in the table discussion, but she's a huge fan of Real Housewives of Atlanta, who just showed a "sex dungeon" bachelorette party, complete with the housewives wearing S&M gear, male strippers/prostitutes, visible vibrators, and other naughty stuff going on??

I recorded the RH show, but read the comments on the RHOA thread here, and instantly deleted it.  I'm not a prude, but that just does not interest me.

I knew she was a huge fan of most of the Bravo shows and other reality TV, but how about being true to yourself then?  If you're going to like watching simulated sex on a Real Housewives show, then don't play the naive innocent on The View.

EDITED TO ADD:  So sorry for repeating what has already been said so many times....I should read the entire thread before I respond!!

I agree with Sara. I don't think she should be confirmed.  Maybe I'm old school but I don't think politicians (or any mature adult) should be calling people names on Twitter. And yes Sunny was right when tweeting about Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz and Susan Collins she didn't say anything that was untrue. But it still doesn't look good.  To quote Michelle Obama when they go low we go high.

I thought I heard her say that the housewives "slept" with a male stripper, which seemed very strange for a TV show. And after that, Whoopi said: excellent, proving that she rarely listens to what MeAgain says.

no no no - I wasn't dogging you - I was piggybacking on the vulgar-ness that is Erica Jayne  🙂

yep - apparently 2 of them at the same time w the stripper.  It was really a raunchy show.

The best part of the show today was how very seamlessly Joy handled taking over as moderator for Whoopi, when Whoopi was having technical difficulties. Not only asking questions, DIFFERENT questions, but also being able to voice her opinion as well.

Twatty? Please. Dead Eyes said it all--that she was just reading what was written for her and threw in Tanden's name to compare with Garland. As if there's any comparison.

I'm not saying what I think about Tanden, but there was nothing but pure hatred oozing from Twatty's mouth as to what she thought of Tanden, and it was all personal.

Yes that annoys me about her as well.  Her favorite Housewife wears a SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY  necklace and sings a song titled "Pat the Puss" and yet Meghan acts like she  the ladies on The View are disgusting when they talk about sex, it makes no sense.

Yup. One thing I've noticed Erika Jayne and Meghan McCain have in common is going back and forth between being provocative and a victim.

I also wonder if all the eccentric hair and makeup is part of her wanting to be a Real Housewife.

I only watch Beverly Hills and Dallas, so I missed this. But yes, if Meghan is a fan of the Housewives in general, loves Howard Stern, used to love flaunting her massive tatas and wrote a book called America, You Sexy Bitch, had f**k cancer on her twitter, supposedly has stripper friends, she needs to drop the prude act. I cut her slack if she doesn't want to discuss her own sex life on TV, but she loses me with the naive conservative lady schtick. I totally get there being a time and place for things, but what annoys me is her pretending to be more conservative than she is just to go against liberals, at least the ones she doesn't like. Howard Stern literally had porn stars and stuff so risqué it embarrassed me as a trashy reality lover. Meghan's a regular guest on WWHL. Andy Cohen is known for lots of naughty humor and sex questions. But God forbid Joy Behar makes a PG13 joke. She also hated that high school kids traumatized by school shootings dared to curse! But the C word necklace wearing, commando in short skirts, ass hanging out in her music videos housewife is her idol, makes perfect sense Meghan.

Oh dear god, all this talk of Erika Jayne makes me think off all the posters still up in the Broadway district of Jayne’s curtailed stint in Chicago. And tonight I will no doubt have a nightmare in which Meghan herself assumes the role of Roxie Hart. I wouldn’t put it past those producers. They’ll be pretty desperate to rake in the tourists whenever theatre resumes in NYC.

I considered the right place to post this was in MM's thread.

But I am stumped why ABC and The View keep MM.

I am frankly sick and tired of her whataboutisms and her stupid appearance pretending to be a serious pundit with sparkles.

It is embarrassing. Especially as a 36 year old with a baby and nannies pretending to be informed while in hair and makeup and taking selfies and watching housewives.

And pretending to be so, so innocent on The View when she is hooked on the Housewives.

Whether you like her or not, she trends on social media platforms.  When she argues with a fellow panelist, it makes the rounds in entertainment media.  She creates buzz which translates, ABC believes, to ratings, which leads to higher revenue from commercials (not to mention huge sales from VYD).  The View is making ABC a lot of money.

Ron Johnson has been downplaying the insurrection from the start. He’s been so disrespectful to the police officers who were injured or killed and their families.

Omigosh, I just looked up and saw Meg’s eyeshadow. @@

Meg, people aren’t moving to FL because they like how it’s being run, it’s in spite of how it’s being run. DeSantis may have vaxxed a large % of the pop but it’s not being administered across the board. Only certain demographics are getting it, communities of color are being denied. Until recently people of means were flying in from other states and getting it, while qualified seniors were sleeping in line in their cars. The way DeSantis is rolling out the vaxx is appalling. It’s not something to celebrate, Meghan.

Not surprising, but, an incredibly ignorant statement to say you won't vote for a Democrat in the next election, Meghan.  You have no clue what's going to happen,  who's going to run, what the issues are going to be, yet you've already decided who you're not voting for.

This doctor is being completely screwed, IMO.  Throwing away 10 doses of vaccine is what should be illegal not finding people who can use it.

If that is her attitude then I guess we can surmise who she voted for in the last election.

Omg! Yes another of her daily rants. Are we supposed to expect  this everyday now? She just rambles on and on  about how she's not voting for a Democrat and how the Democrats don't want to work with Republicans and blame R's for everything.  Stfu Meghan!

All the host talk about the the topic then it's Princess Privilege's turn to yell at the camera about how persecuted  she as Republican is.

Is she responding to the backlash she receives online for the stupid stuff she says on the show?  Otherwise I haven't seen any wide spread labeling or shunning of non-Trump republicans like Adam Kinzinger or Liz Cheney.   If anything those people are getting plenty of positive attention from so called "liberal" media.   Heck her own mother is getting great press right now.   She would too, if she took that approach instead of defending the indefensible.

I generally tend to like MM's more creative looks even when no one else does.... But that eye shadow today...... yikes!!!

Something I noticed today and yesterday -  Whoopi asks a question, gives everyone a chance to respond.  Meghan responds, then, when WHoopi clarifies, or disagrees with something, Meghan TALKS RIGHT OVER WHOOPI, which gets Whoopi flustered because she is moderating, and also hearing (I assume)  a producer in her ear.  Whoopi stops, Meghan keeps going, Whoopi tries to take back the conversation, and just as she opens her mouth, Meghan again talks right over her.   As a viewer, I don't understand any of what they are saying, because two people talking at once is just garbled nonsense.   But as soon as it happens,  Whoopi goes to break.  I feel her frustration - everyone gets a turn, Meghan says the most words, but then interrupts the moderator's turn.

I also noticed that it seems like 3 minutes of content, then 8-10 commercials, then 3 minutes of content , more commercials.  I swear, when I record this show I can watch it in less than 20 minutes.

Letting someone spew inaccurate comments directly put us where we are. The View needs to correct Meghan. Considering they are a popular daytime show. You would think ABC do something about it. But i doubt they will. Meghan spreads BS and the other women apparantly aren't supposed to respond or correct her.

But then she wouldn't be able to play the victim.  She keeps saying the Republican party is going to  have to decide who they are and from everything Meghan says I can see which side she is going to be on.

And I can't believe she actually said she thought Democrats would welcome Republicans like her with open arms.  She has done nothing but denigrate Democrats for the past four years she has been on the View.  She calls Democrats the party of infanticide and socialism and she expects them to say sure come join us?

Why can't she just have her beliefs and vote for the candidate that most reflects those beliefs?  For someone who always says she doesn't like identity politics she sure does seem to need to identify herself by hers.

Maybe I got this wrong, but I swear I heard Meghan say that DeSantis is doing a great job, 13% of people in florida have been vaccinated, as opposed to 14% in California.

I rewound it, and heard the same thing.  What math is she using?

Answering my own question -   there's a map showing what percentages of people in each state have received the vaccine. there's not a lot of difference among states.  -  here's a link:

vaccine distribution by state

De Santis was criticized for setting up pop-up vaccine clinics in affluent areas.

She did say that.  And as Sunny said which 13% got vaccinated is being questioned.

Meghan also threw in there that New Yorkers are flying down to Palm Beach because they like it better there.  What does that have to do with anything?
