Print interviews are almost always condensed for publication and we don't know if Taylor was the only she mentioned or the only one included.  And we don't know if her "in the industry" was referring to actors or if she's thinking specifically of singers. 

Selena had a chance to correct any misconceptions, but all she said was "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know". That's a bitch move, the woman gave you a kidney, you're alive because the woman gave you a kidney & the only thing you can say is "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know"? Nope, not cool at all.

This. I was really hoping there was more to it because I like Selena, but that apology was awful. And hell, maybe Francia is awful or something but damn to show such little respect or care for the woman who saved your life is just gross.

Could not care less about Selena. Don’t know what she does and why she’s so popular, but I will say the belief amongst some has always been that she’s a piece of work who uses her lupus diagnosis to hide serious substance abuse issues. Don’t know whether this is true or not, but her flippant response to “forgetting” to mention the young woman who gave her a kidney is not helping in dispelling those rumors. 

Speaking of Francia and their  “friendship”, I wonder if there was a friendship there at all. Or if it was more like an acquaintanceship. The BFF narrative could’ve been what was pushed to the media by Selena’s team. That certainly makes for a better story than “someone Selena sort of knew” gave her a kidney.

I interpreted it as music industry. IDK this Raisa person at all, though it looks like she's acted in a few things, but is she a singer? I know that Selena is currently in that Only Murders show but before that (and after her time at Disney) she has mainly been a singer. 

I just don't get why these celebs all feel the need to air out their grievances on social media. It's not a good look at all. If it's meant to make Selena Gomez look ungrateful, it failed with me because it just makes Francia Raisa look like she is owed something. I mean, they fell out because Selena wasn't taking good enough care of the kidney Francia gave her? I really hope that's not true.

I will admit to knowing next to nothing about Selena and Francia. I do take issue with the idea that Selena is somehow beholden to Francia because of the organ donation.   That's not how the process is supposed to work, and both of them know this.  The medical professionals who facilitated the surgeries made this crystal clear before signing off on it.

Also, friendships end for various legitimate reasons. If the reason Selena Gomez didn't mention Francia Raisa is because the friendship has ended it doesn't mean Gomez doesn't appreciate what she was given. I don't think people are required to never let friendships end because of organ donation. Sometimes people don't even meet people who donate organs to them (or their families).

There's an episode of Law and Order Criminal Intent where the perp was a living organ donor who kept tabs on the recipients and murdered those who were not living up to his standards.  He also made sure to kill them in ways that allowed for his donations to still be viable.

It wasn't a good apology because she wasn't trying to apologize.  She was basically saying she wasn't going to apologize for NOT talking about someone.

Yeah, I thought she was responding to  somebody's Tik Tok that chastised her for not mentioning Francia or any of her other friends? So it wasn't even in response to anything Francia said.

The quote in question is in present tense, so maybe they just aren't  friends now.

Well, damn.  Seeing it all laid out like that... I knew he had a lot of kids but I had no idea that so many of them were ,like, in such close proximity in age with so many different women at the same time.

It's also odd that for about five  years after his split with Miss Carey, Mr. Cannon had no known  non-marital offspring but then had one. ..then a few years after that decided to try to become a New Millennial King of Siam!

Pretty sure he has surpassed the number of children anonymous sperm donors are allowed to father.

As a casual observer, he strikes me as a man who feels compelled to plant his seed for the benefit of humanity.

Isn't the argument usually that you never know who or what a kid will be when they grow up? I don't know anything about the women Nick Cannon has been with other than Mariah Carey, and apparently he's at least kept things civil with her since the divorce, but maybe with good parenting on the maternal side (and possibly therapy, depending) the kids could turn out okay.

George Lopez received a kidney from his wife and they later divorced. Neither one brought any of their issues to social media.  As it should be.

Cannon has said that neither he nor his partners use any contraception and they are happy if a pregnancy results.  So, yes, these are planned pregnancies.

She is such a great comedienne.  Even though I have never been able to get through an episode of Married … with Children (not sure why, because I do not have highbrow TV standards at all), I have always followed her career afterwards and always thought she should have been an even bigger star than she was (even though she has had a great and varied career).

In happier news, Chris Evans is #1 on my "hall pass" list, so I am excited to see the news about Sexiest Man Alive (although I have some issue with us still anointing someone that in 2022.)

Interesting article from Jen Aniston - sounds really tough. I genuinely thought she didn’t want kids so she hid it well. It must have been very difficult considering her marriage had broken down and Brad went into have half a dozen kids almost straight away. There was definetly an assumption it was down to her not wanting kids. I wonder if more women without kids will come forward with similar stories.

I remember how relentless the press was with her about the baby thing: She doesn’t want a baby and that ruined her marriage to Brad! She’s pregnant! When are you going to have a baby? And all the while she was dealing with this. She really did hide it well. But I certainly feel for her. It’s not just the media, but society as a whole has a ways to go regarding childless women in terms of sensitivity (hey, she may be trying and unable to, so you’re not helping) and in seeing motherhood as the be-all, end-all for women (not for all of us, thanks).

I'm glad Jennifer is at peace with it. It must have been hard to deal with all of the pregnancy rumors and speculation that Brad left her because she refused to have kids. It went on for years.

And yet there are so many other ways to be a parent, even if you can't conceive and/or carry a child to term. 

Brad may share 3 bio children with Angelina, but he also adopted 3 with her that have none of his genetics.  And 2 were before his first biological child was born.  I can't see laying all the responsibility at his feet because he went on to become a father. 

I think even ordinary people have ways to explain things without actually explaining them and opening themselves up to excessive sharing.

So true.  For a very long time I don't think a month went by without one of the sleazier magazines announcing that she was pregnant.  If she'd actually had as many babies as these rags claimed she was going to have she'd be in the Guiness Book of Records!
