Premieres April 13, 2020!

Has this been confirmed anywhere? I find it hard to believe they'd put it on a Friday where it would have little chance for success. I imagine it'll be paired with RHOBH which is up there with RHOA in terms of ratings. I also don't expect it as early as April since they're in the middle of filming.

There isn’t a lot of info but one article from when she died suggested he was 20 years younger.

I think he may have been based on a photo I saw somewhere. He didn't look ancient. The grandmother was 65 or something when she died.

This show looks like it's going to be very juicy and messy.

I don't know, from the TV ads and especially the one where two of the women are facing each other, these women look like a plastic surgeon's apprentice's science project.  And can somebody tell me when the Miss Piggy eyelashes will go away because I've had enough of them.  I even saw a car the other day with them.  Good grief!

Gosh, I hope someone watches this besides me.  I think these ladies may really be rich!  The first episode held my interest a whole lot more than OC, which is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.  First episode impressions:

Mary is a weird little duck, and so is her fashion sense.

Jen is loud and over the top, but I really liked her husband and her boys.  Her youngest actually said "yes, mam" and my faith was renewed in reality TeeVee kids.

Lisa seems like a real snob.

I liked Whitney and her husband.

I liked Meredith and her husband.

My best first impression was with Heather, which oddly reminds me of Heather Thomas of NY in looks.  She seems the most down to earth.

All of this may and probably will change in no time flat 🥴 except for Mary.  I already know I won't like Mary.

I posted info on Mary’s church/cult in an episode thread and another poster suggested I should also share the info on this thread so it’s easily accessible. Here it is!

There’s been some posts online from current and former members of Mary’s church. If these accounts are true (and I have no reason to believe they’re not), then Mary and her husband/granddaddy are straight-up abusive cult leaders. I’ll post a link below to one particularly detailed post about Mary’s history and the church. It’s really terrifying stuff.

This is from a post one member/former member made on Reddit. The original poster got really freaked out about the church finding out and then deleted their account. This is a link to the original post, preserved via some internet magic I don’t completely understand.

Some people had trouble accessing the link so I will also post the full text from the link in a spoiler box below.

Thanks for this information.  I KNEW I didn't like Mary from the get-go.

I have never heard of anything good coming from a cult.  It's sad and strange to me how people become so deceived by these predators.  Mary Martha (ha, what a biblical sounding name) and "The Bishop" (yeah, sure bud)  are really God incarnate on this Earth and people believe that.  Mmmkay, but I ain't buying it. at. all.  Mary Martha and her creeky old nasty bishop, are sick, evil predators.

That's the same person? WWHUT????  She looks totally different now. WHOA.

I TRIED to watch episode 2 and actually, all those women with dark brown hair look like triplets.  Except for the Tonga lady.

I'm starting to get it - Lisa has the tiny scrunched up face and Meredith has the lopsided one.  I'm still confused as to which family belongs to which woman 😄

How is Mary even the same person as the pretty gal in this photo?! Yikes. Guess the congregation had a hand in not only affording her a closet full of designer goods but also assisting her with changing her entire exterior appearance. Damned shame...she looked sweet and innocent in this pic, not like a walking Snapchat filter.

This situation feels as if grandma cooperated in allowing pedo step-grandpa to groom a young Mary. Then when Mary was brainwashed into thinking it is normal, grandma codified it in a will. They all benefit from lotsa money from parishioners.

The Reddit threads report that it's even weirder - that Mary's  Grandmother actually adopted her...so...yeah. I take it with a grain of salt, but with that family, it seems to be all about the benjamins, so anything that kept the money close, and Grandma in charge, is possible.

Exactly.  It sounds like Mary Martha was basically sold into servitude to that old goat.

What the hell was wrong with Jen last night on WWHL? Drunk, trying way too hard, pilled up or All of the Above?! Even Andy was cringing at her awkward attempts at humor and outlandishness; like it was painful to watch.

Jen needs to turn *everything* down a few notches already; like I’ve never seen a new RH believe her own early hype so soon and then crash and burn because of it so spectacularly.

She was A LOT. Can she possibly be like this is real life, as she insists? I was exhausted just watching her.

I found  a great article from the New Yorker magazine in my news feed the other day.  It is fantastically snarky and the author really has a great take on these women.  Brookesie haters will love it.

The article is called  "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is Culturally Sensitive Trash".  Go to www.newyorker.com. , and scroll down to find the article.  Their site would not allow me to transport the article  over here.  Sorry about that.  Enjoy

You beat me!

From article:

  Quote

"Jennifer Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful businessperson on ‘reality’ television, and Stuart Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s ‘first assistant,’ allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam.  In actual reality and as alleged, the so-called business opportunities pushed on the victims by Shah, Smith, and their co-conspirators were just fraudulent schemes, motivated by greed, to steal victims’ money," Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a statement.

Expand

So basically she and her "assistant" would get names of older folks for telemarketers to harass and scam out of money, and then they'd get a cut?

Gross.
