Kevin pulls out all the stops with a 10-course tasting menu to impress Lee; a charter group of thirsty single women arrives and requests a provocative show; as frustrations run high, Ashton attempts to reel in a checked-out Abbi.

Airs November 4, 2019.

Abbi: "Rules are just not my forte."  Start your own business or find a sugar daddy.

"Engaged by text.  My eyes are rolling off the boat."  Courtney delivers!  LOL!

True love in the twenty teens.  At 36 (I think), Kate is right at the edge of X ers and Millennials.  Older people have been whining about "kids these days" for centuries.  It's stupid.

Now she's planning her divorce before the wedding.  OK.  She and her hair won't be missed.

A boatload of party girls!  Here we go!  They held their liquor very well.  Brandy could learn something from them.  Pace yourself, honey.

The davit repair seemed to go quickly and effortlessly.

Kevin is the baby to 3 sisters.  That explains a lot to me.  He's been doted on forever.

Thinks he's the hardest working person on the boat.  Please.  Have some more whine.  Now he's going to really knock it out with a 10 course "extravaganza", making lots of work for the servers.  Was there any meat on any of those tiny, tiny plates?  The guests seemed to like it and that's all that really matters.

I don't like gnochhi.  Too thick and pasty.  Never had tongue.  I'm told it's great, I would probably try it, but don't spring it on me for my meal.

Poor Tanner.  "I thought this was f*****g done"  Been there.

The whole Ashton/Brian thing has me confused.  The ladies loved the lap dance though.  Give the people what they want.

Courtney wins the episode for that one.

I love gnocchi, but it seems heavy for lunch on a yacht.  I thought he was making it for dinner.  I also like tongue but I grew up eating it and didn’t really think about what it was.  Otherwise I would probably have been grossed out by the thought of it.

Abbi is Rocky by way of Rhylee. Ugh-xhausting! She has all of Rocky's flakiness and whining about work, being cool, and not having fun while combining Rhylee's over the top need to be sexually validated and general insubordination. Plus she's got Merida's hair, wants to be free, and doesn't want anyone to tell her what to do.

I'm hoping there's a dotty Scottish witch who will grant Abbi her wish and get her off Valor and maybe turn someone in her life into a bear. Maybe her fiance/fuck buddy beary?

I just watched Ashton on WWHL.  Caroline Rhea was the other guest.  She pointed out that when Ashton says Below Deck it sounds like Below Dick.

And now I can't unhear it.

I've never been a fan of the double standard when it comes to men, women and strippers.

She must have read my comment from last week about how “deckhand” sounds like “dickhead”.

These dickheads are lame.

Also, there’s probably got to be a parody Below Dick porno out there, right?

Sheer amount of laundry they generate is insane.

Guess the weather is bad for clean clothes but any coastal area in the summer is going to require daily laundering.

But yeah, Simone needs to get out of that dungeon, at least once a day.

As for the unhappy crew members, I guess now they're casting and planning in a way to have turnover during the season all the time now?

So they might cynically cast someone whom they know will cause problems or just want to bail.  Abbi is out there barefoot and she couldn't help the other guy who was lifting up the slide by himself.  Because he asked her to hurry up to help him, she goes to cry and says she's tired of this shit?

Of course the captain and Kate will play the game to try to bully the chef, again to have some story about him not doing his job.  He's made mistakes (assuming it wasn't some scripted bullshit) but he's delivering food that the guests love.

So why the fucking bullshit drama?

C'mon, it’s all Kate's fault, always!

Oh good more creepy women making unwanted advances on the male crew. It’s seriously sleazy and I wish someone would point it out but realize that is unlikely on this show.

I feel like I could’ve quoted any of your posts. It’s gross. Men have said gross stuff for years to the stews on this show (I remember someone asking Emily Rabbit about her V) & everyone was always horrified. Why is it ok for women to yell at deckhands to take their shirt off? While they are working too-part of their job is safety. I don’t scream at attractive male flight attendants “TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT” during their safety demo. I know I constantly sound like a stick in the mud on this site (maybe that’s why I like Kate?) but I promise I’m fun-I’m just grossed out by this stuff in 2019.

I thought Kevin did alright with the food this week-lots of the courses looked yummy to me.

I adore Courtney now-she has a great dry sense of humor.

As for Abbi-the rumor I’ve seen is

Spoiler

She leaves during the 7th charter. And we get Rhylee

I don’t understand why women (or men) think it’s okay to sexualize people that are working for you. STOP IT! It’s not cute, funny, or empowering, it’s gross, demeaning and predatory. Yes, Ashton said yes because he wants a nice tip but that doesn’t make It okay.

It’s par for the course with a boat load of older women, lol. Is it “right”? Officially, no. But don’t kid yourself, Ashton LOVED being able to whip his shirt off and show off his abs and sexual grinding for viewers to see. He was in his element! So, as long as men are lapping up the attention, women are going to scream at them to “take your shirt off!” It’s just that simple.

Wow, Simone got a bum deal this season. She’s just the Laundry Lady-slaving away ironing in the bowels of the ship, no storyline in sight.

Abbi is now engaged but a week ago wanted to fuck Ashton? K. 👍🏼

She is seriously annoying. And shiny.

The engineer should have been able to do it him/herself.  The hardest part is getting the shroud/cover off and then back on.

I hope as a going away present, the crew gives Abbi a big bottle of shampoo.  She's fairly useless, but not mean or truly crazy as some people have been on this show in the past.   Ashton's reaction to her was part frustration at trying to get her to work, but also a sizable amount of jealousy and pissiness after her weird engagement announcement.

This group of guests is fine.  No headcases, a lot of drinking and trashy comments, but they do seem to be enjoying the boat, water, and food.  They're the first group we've seen go down that stupid, time consuming slide more than a token time.

Kevin's description of this family went a ways in explaining his malfunction.  He's a little prince, expecting praise for literally everything he does and for someone to always be at his beck and call.

I will say this for ole Mr. Dobson: his taco looked a far sight better than Mila's.

If they hadn't shown a picture of Abbi's boyfriend, I'd have thought he was Shane from RHoOC, with that text proposal (now that GChat is a thing of the past).

Courtney & Josiah would have made a great team together on this show; they could out-wry one another.

And exactly how does Kevin know how hard everybody else is working?  If he's always watching them, he's not doing his job.  Did I see him trying to help out on deck?  He should go label his spices.

My guess is that title goes to the invisible Engineer.

I've worked with whining martyrs like him.  Not fun.

I must be getting old. I am a bit "surprised" that the next episode is called "Penis Ravine."

I must be getting really old, until next ep’s preview last night I didn’t know that area had the name “Penis Ravine”.

These kids annoy me getting into bed with their nasty feetses. Especially Abbi who walked home from the bar barefoot then climbed in bed.

I knew the stews ironed the epaulet shirts but do they also iron all the other uniforms like polos and shorts? That’s a ridiculous amount of ironing especially when they’re on charter and guests have things to take care of as well. Seems like they could use fabric, for the shorts at least, that wouldn’t need pressing to look nice.

I feel bad for the person who had to wash all the dishes after Kevin's 10 course tasting menu.

The delicate little douche flower had Brian mop the galley and Ashton wasn't happy about it.

I googled it. It is apparently *not* a thing. The references all pointed back to Below Deck.

Ha! Loved it when Kevin, spoiled baby of the family, was crying to his sister about how mistreated he was and she basically said suck it up, do your job and don't let me see you showing up on my doorstep. Tell it, sister!

Could Capt'n Lee be any more of a sour puss this season? I know he's pissed at Kevin and rightly so but damn he refuses to crack a smile with any of them even his beloved Kate. I wouldn't want him as a guest at my table if I was chartering that boat, he has no charm what so ever. Can he even carry on decent dinner conversation?

They screamed take your shirt off at them when Brian and Ashton were 10 feet away and ignoring them so they clearly don’t care if they like or don’t like the attention.  Yes, it’s going to happen doesn’t mean it’s should and doesn’t make the women different than sleazy men who do it.

Seriously? Kevin has behaved that way since day one and last night literally said he's the hardest working person on that yacht and you have no issue with that, it's just always about how awful Kate was. Last night, Kate was kind, patient and supportive of Kevin. She complimented him often and did a great job stroking his ego. She created ZERO drama, she pulled Simone out of laundry and made zero complaints to Captain Lee. To pull out that TH moment is really so phenomenally hyper-critical, it's actually impressive. Come on, you can do better than that. You forgot about her talking to Courtney about Abbi being a brat. Do better next time.

Yeah well I pay attention to her actions and the things she say in all episodes, not just one, across more than just this season.

We don’t know how this show is edited.

It’s also more duplicitous to talk shit behind a person’s back.

Stop being such a fan.

I also think he slightly burnt them. Some were very dark brown.

Never seen it pan fried.  Did he boil them first and then sauté them in olive oil?

I know they’re suppose to make fancy meals but it seems pointless to make them from scratch unless he used some unique filling though gnocchi or any kind of fresh pasta may not be easily available in Thailand.

I like pasta but some kind of Thai noodles would have been fine too.

That was my favorite part. His being whiny is obviously standard behavior based on her response to him.

closed captions can be amusing. It took me a bit to realize what on earth he meant. I was picturing some sort of raft (made of spherified bloody mary mix????). Then realized it was " palate" LOL

Kevin should definitely quit. Captain Lee is threatening to fire him every episode. I thought his tasting menu was excellent and very well done. He can’t come back from the Captain’s negative attitude. On the last season of Med Ben had many of his dishes returned to the galley untouched. To the point that he started raving about it. Every chef is going to have a dish or two that is a misfire. It happens every season. If the Captain is looking for an excuse to fire you it’s better to quit than get fired.

This has probably already been said....I’m only minutes into episode but already seething...COOK Kevin’s attitude...

“nobody’s complained about my food” IS NOT THE EQUIVALENT

of NOBODY SINGING YOUR PRAISES! ...you tool....

(Other than the guests who were so drunk...even I cudda warmed their tummies and deconstructed or fancied it up enough to get by...for F sakes!)

dipshit!

get OVER yourself dude!
btw loved when Cap Lee said...

” If you don’t want an honest answer...I’m not the one to ask”

Boooyah!!!!

Sauteed gnocchi can be delicious and you don't need to boil them first. His looked too well done to me. I'm the biggest gnocchi fan in the world, but I wouldn't want them for lunch because they are quite heavy.

This is my first season watching this show and I really expected a lot from Kate because of the glowing reviews she gets on the Med thread when compared to Hannah (who I actually like), but Kate bugs me. I think it's her hair, honestly. I'm very shallow and easily bothered. That said, she seems to work hard at being a good manager. I found her to be nothing but encouraging with Kevin this episode. Kevin seems like a spoiled brat and I hope he leaves.

Meant to mention that I found it SO sad when Ashton explained how doing that dance could make all the difference in the tip. Ugh, that's not cool.

Seriously, and the bar is fairly low even Mila got praise.  This also highlights a key difference between Lee and Sandy, he is evaluating Kevin’s food through observation and his opinion versus Sandy going out and actively asking if anything is wrong which increases the likelihood of complaints.

They were getting stuff from the galley so yes at that moment they did need to be in the galley. They weren’t yelling or even talking loudly they were having a work related conversation and grabbing stuff from the shelves.
