Found this little gem, re Ludwing's wedding day

He's my hero.  Too bad he'll be in the US while Who's Her Face is in Qatar.  What does it say that we're this far in and I'm not bothering to remember names?

He definitely needs his own show!

I’ll take him over the Roloffs.  It’s time that whole family hang in up.

I could watch him fix lunch and dole out sage advise all day.

I totally had grilled cheese for dinner.  I like using mayo on my bread.  It's a thin layer and gives great toasting.  It's just eggs and oil after all.  And you won't know it's mayo, it's not like a hot glob or anything.

Ok,  have to chime in on the  grilled cheese discussion.  I have to use a heavy,  grainy bread.  Real butter mixed with a bit of light olive oil,  a bit of basil, pop in microwave til the butter is melted,  brush onto bread.  Place butter side down of each slice of bread into a hot skillet.  On one slice,  put American & provolone, the other slice,  cheddar & Munster.  When the bread has nicely browned,  put both slices together.  Mr. Tostandon calls them gourmet grilled cheese.

I thought I had quoted another post too,  the one who knew someone who made "grilled cheese" in the oven.  We were invited to a friend's house for lunch,  'grilled ham & cheese'. She layered the bread with cheese & ham,  then put it in ther oven!  I thought, "ok,  she's going to broil them". Nope,  baked.  The bread was like stale bread,  the cheese was not melted.  Blach!

Karini has not looked good since the first season she was on.  When we first met her,  she was wearing a cute little summer dress & had a nice smile.   I know she's pregnant but the last couple of seasons,  she's looked dirty & bloated.  And very unhappy. I cannot believe Poul did not bring the baby stuff.   At least he had his bullet proof baby carrier!

Forgot to add: Ludwig says the grilled cheese was honey & kalamata olives

I’ll be damned if I live to be 60 years old and my “boyfriend” has to LIE TO HIS PARENTS about our relationship. That’s some trifling high school drama right there. Cultural or no I’d rather die alone.

But it also points to how young he is compared to her, and she may like that.

I like mayonnaise a lot and tried it on the grilled cheese but didn't like it.  Maybe if I hadn't known it was mayo it would have been different, because cooked mayo still sounds weird.  Whatever...I'm back on butter.

Aah, I'm just remembering that a million years ago, Julia Child made a grilled cheese for David Letterman on his show, and he recoiled when he tasted it because she'd used the kind of butter he can't stand--either salted or unsalted.

You fancy!

Ludwings grilled cheese sounds like it might be good, I like the idea of honey contrasted with a sharp cheddar....but I feel like kalamta olives...though delicious...would be so salty and would throw off the balance.

Melt real butter in frying pan over low heat so it doesn't start turning brown, evenly coat two slices of sourdough bread with melted butter, add lots of cheddar cheese.  Simultaneously, heat tomato soup, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cut grilled cheese into halves or quarters, dip in soup.... one of the most awesome pleasures in life.

As for Karine, I'm honestly not seeing the dirtiness in her appearance?  Her face looks puffy, for sure, and she's gained weight... both of which I sincerely hope can be attributed to being pregnant twice and probably having a more plentiful supply of (most likely less healthy) food since hooking up with Paul.  And when Paul "surprised" her in the middle of the night  she did look a bit disheveled. But otherwise, like when she was at school or out with her brother,  I paid extra attention - and actually thought she looked rather nice.  Not saying the girl isn't kinda crazy for hooking up with perhaps the creepiest asshole loser to ever be on this show, just saying I don't think she really looks dirty/gross... just a bit bloated.

And sharing the win with Ludwing was Tiffany's son.... what a freaking sweet kid!  This is kind of sad, but I was honestly surprised at how kind and sincere he and his friend were to each other when they were saying goodbye at the park.  I didn't really think kids treated each other that way anymore. Tiffany's little boy seems so emotionally vulnerable, however, that I so wanted to get in her face and ask her WTAF she's thinking, dragging him to f'ing South Africa so Mommy can hook up with some POS guy.  Of course  I've felt similarly many times about Nicole with little May. The one thing about this show I don't find amusing is watching the kids be subjected to the horrible decisions of their immature, selfish-ass parents.  Because, to be clear, I find it infinitely amusing to watch immature, selfish-ass parents suffer from their OWN horrible decisions. (-:

Kids absolutely do treat each other that way nowadays.  A few years ago when my son was 13, his friend's father was arrested for child porn and subsequently killed himself.  It was horrible, but to see the 13 year old boys coming together around this child was so touching.  So many boys came to the funeral and then afterward for the better part of an hour, stood in a circle around him, just being there, talking with him, hugging him.

Have hope; there are some really outstanding young people in the world.  🙂

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so I'm chiming in. If I'm pretty hungry, I like to fry an egg and put it in my grilled cheese. It tastes yummy with just about any cheese/bread combo, and as an added bonus, the heat from it helps melt the cheese.

From the moment Coltea complimented Debbie (ewwww!) to Debbie bitching about Larissa it just increases my suspicion that Debbie and Coltea have an unnatural relationship.

Ughhhhh I shuddered when Coltea said to her, "you look cute!" at the airport.

Debbie wants Coltea all to herself, to be the lady in his life, and it is very unnatural, even though I don't think they are boning (sorry I know barf).

I think karine has developed some kind of acne that she is likely picking at and it's causing scarring.  You have to wear a full coverage/medium coverage foundation if you really want to conceal it.  I say this from experience.

However, I think she just got her hands on some sort of foundation that may not be her shade and is not full coverage.

It's probably because she has Paul bringing her crappy Wet N Wild foundation in the wrong color!

She may just be having pregnancy face/outbreak, but also clearly needs some better makeup.

What I want to know is why the fuck is Paul speaking to her in broken English? And why, why, why did she attach herself to this weirdo? Her brother's description of him is very apt and he's shiftless, to boot. How the hell is he going to support her and a child?

I also cannot--well I actually can--believe he didn't bring any baby stuff except for the bulletproof crap. What a foolish, foolish man.

I would watch it to see what other culinary delights he has up his sleeve.

And I have been biting my tongue, but here's how I make grilled cheese sandwiches:

White or rye bread, American cheese (white Clearfield, accept no substitutes).  Slather yellow mustard on one side of bread, then one slice of cheese, then one thin slice of fresh, ripe tomato.  Butter outside of bread and put in frying pan and smash down with spatula.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

Heaven, I tell you.

Rye bread for a grilled cheese is fantastic!  To me the worst offense to a grilled cheese is mayo.  I don't care that it may make the outside wonderful it is nearly blasphemous.  I loathe mayo with the heat of 1000 suns.

I loved Ludwing.  So wise and a good friend.  More Ludwing please.  He reminded me of Brick from The Middle facially.

So, a few things.

Squat toilets are pretty common in Asia. I was at a pretty fancy business school in Beijing and the bathrooms all had squat toilets. Many Chinese people do not like sitting on a regular public toilet. They find that gross.

Also, TP is not common in India. Using water to rinse is seen as preferable to flimsy TP.

Cultures are VERY different.

I would totally watch Ludwing every week. He is fabulous!

Adding a slice of ham to grilled cheese is also fabulous.

And that’s all I got.

I love mayo, but on a grilled cheese?  Blasphemy.    There is a time and a place for mayo, and neither one is on a grilled cheese sandwich.

I love Ludwing, too.  So wise, so kind (he didn't burst out laughing at his friend), so funny ("if I were in her shoes, for one thing I'd be taller"), so sexy.  I want to know all about him and his family.  More Ludwing, please.

I had a group of exec students from India  visit my uni for a couple of weeks and this was actually an issue. When I sent students to  India. I always advised them to pack TP. 😉

Where do you get the water? Just walk up to the sink with your pants around your knees? Turn Off the faucet with your pee/pooped up hand after rinsing?

Most bathrooms in India have a drain in the floor. Did y’all notice the shower was right next to the toilet in the bathroom? I think this may be why.

In general, when Indians travel, they take a suchi  cup with them to stay clean. Rinsing over a squat toilet is much easier.

When this issue came up, I was very lucky to have a close friend who was married to an Indian man from Bengal. He used the term suchi cup and how to approach this  matter with my visiting students.

India is, however, a BIG place. Customs do vary from region to region.

The two American women going to India and Qatar are completely being used whether it’s for money or an eventual life in the USA. No maybes about that. The American going to South Africa is just making bad decisions but she seems strong enough to go back to the USA if needed. The guy going to Ecuador does seem to be being used for money but there’s almost a mutual benefit between them. I do not see why older women from the USA think a man half their age from Nigeria, Qatar, India or anywhere want them for their love!

I don’t believe malaria is prevalent that far south. The African continent in HUGE.

Makes me very glad that I have sickle cell trait- saved my ancestors from dying in the marshes of the Carolinas.

They have malaria preventatives now, if Tiffany needed one she doesn’t seem like the type that would forgo it- she’s acting an idiot over Ronald but I don’t think she would knowingly put her son’s health at risk.

I don't think Tiffany thinks about much, but, herself.  She pays her son's welfare lip service, but, nothing more, imo.  She is oblivious to the risks she's taking with her son's mental health by having him jump in emotionally with a man who may not continue to be in their lives, is not related to them and may never be a permanent part of their lives.  It's absurd and any childcare professional would warn of such a thing.

And, when the therapist from the rehab facility was talking about replacing one addiction with another, I thought about how Tiffany and Ronald have put on a lot of weight since those earlier photos were taken.

I don’t disagree with you that this entire situation is not emotionally healthy for Tiffany’s son, but I think for the vast majority of people, concern over physical health, financial security and physical safety are thought of more in depth than a child’s emotional attachments or well being.

In my original post I meant that I don’t think Tiffany would be intentionally neglectful by not getting her son medical care if he needs it. Just because someone is a dolt (Tiffany) doesn’t mean they would deny their child medicine. Of course I could be wrong and let’s see how this unfolds because nothing in this series surprises me!!!!!

I didn't find the bathroom unusual in the least. Many bathrooms are quickly converted into showers, so clearly there needs to be a drain in the floor and shower by toilet. This use of space makes sense in areas where square footage is tough to acquire. Also, shower/toilets are the norm whenever I travel throughout Europe and use B&Bs. Or am I the only one. I saw bathtubs etc only in hotels or high end homes. (Much of my travel was Scandinavia)

She seems like a nice enough lady, and after 5 years of daily chats, Sumit knows what she's about and he still says he wants to marry her. It might be worth his while to 'seal the deal'. If she does have money. they might be able to have a great life and he's young enough that he can have kids later. He'd probably make a good dad - he has patience.

If you watch tiny house shows, they frequently show bathrooms--I think they are called "wet" bathrooms--where the whole room, including the toilet and sink, are in the shower.  It makes sense where space is limited.  I travel by train a lot, and in Amtrak bedrooms (as opposed to roomettes) you get your own bathroom, and it's essentially a shower stall with a toilet in it.  Works fine.
