She had hopes and asked him to come to N.Y. and he said no. She had hopes and thought he loved her. I’d be depressed too. It will take a long time to get over him. How could Dale tell her to get over it? She needs time to get over this love affair. Her heart is broken. Because she probably has been through this discussion multiple times with Tins crying over this relationship. It's not their first break-up. At some point, the best thing to do is tell your daughter to move on and get over it. And in my view, she's exactly right. This relationship clearly isn't healthy for her. Patting her on the back and hugging her is nice, but we've already seen everyone on this cast basically tell Tins she needs to move on. I'm sure they've had this song and dance multiple times with her already and at some point the person needs to be told to move on. Not to mention, how deep could their relationship possibly be if they both lived so far away and neither would compromise? How often did they really see each other? I'll bet that he viewed the relationship for what it was -- a long distance fling. Edited May 3, 2019 by sasha206 4 Link to comment

And she’s masking it with a thin smile, like when she and Ramona and Sonja were at the UES bar. I’m not surprised at all she failed her test. Convincing Lu to not drink because she wouldn't be as hot is so typically Lu. She's assaulted people while drunk, she's made a spectacle of herself, and she's stolen from her children, but she might not be considered hot anymore and suddenly realizes she's got to stop. The vanity and narcissism. Doctor: Luann, you've got to stop drinking. Drinking is making you less attractive. How are you going to attract another man? Luann: But doc when I'm tipsy, I'm an easier lay. Doctor: I think we both know you're a pretty easy lay even without alcohol, but will the guy be willing to say he slept with you if your face gets more haggard from the alcohol. Luann: Oh my god! You're right! I've got to stop. Doctor: That's great and quitting will [mumbling] improve your health and relationships with friends and family [mumbling]. Luann: What was that? whydoievencare May 3, 2019 Share May 3, 2019 You know, reading all the comments, some people are castigating Dale - who can be horrible from what we've seen. However, she had some very good advice for Tinsley at the start of the episode - that Tinsley should just move on from Scott and seems to be difficult for Tinsley to actually do. At the end of the performances at the Circus, Tinsley breaks down and comes at her mother because Tinsley felt her mother wasn't happy enough with Tinsley's performance and she needs her mother's approval, yada yada yada. I think Dale wasn't wrong to tell Tinsley to stop it - in that moment I felt Dale didn't mean specifically to stop being emotional - she meant for Tinsley to stop blaming her for everything that's wrong with Tinsley's life and Tinsley is 43 years old. How long can you blame your mother for everything that's wrong with your life FFS? Tinsley seems so brittle - and sometimes it seems as if she's playing a role - "I'm supposed to be having fun so I'll be FUN and be screaming with laughter". I know she's well-mannered, well educated, has a work ethic. There's a true discrepancy between where she thinks she should be vs where she is and it's sad to see - OTOH perhaps her expectations aren't very realistic. One thing: I REALLY wish everyone on that show would let her actually finish a sentence once in a while. 11 Link to comment

bravofan27 May 3, 2019 Share May 3, 2019 Dale is the typical refrigerator mother everyone used to blame schizophrenia on in the day. Of course she loves her kids, but she's a lady of her day, and there are just certain generational norms that will persist no matter what. It's a bummer, but it is what it is. We will probably inadequately mentor our children if they need mentorship in their 40's. (Hopefully they won't) It takes two to tango, so Dale's refusal to confront Tinsley's problems is probably how she managed her marriage, where she just ignored the problems and focused on herself. She doesn't seem like she wants to spend any time of her day doing or being anything less than fabulous and happy. So, did Bethanny just sell her company because her face was broken out? I feel like that whole thing was completely staged, like NYC RH viewers are so dumb that that we'd believe a successful business woman would let her skin conditions determine whether she should stay in business or not. IMO, Bethanny is trying to save face, no pun intended, for the fact that SkinnyGirl is a sinking ship, by making it seem her decision to sell is because the stress is taking a toll on her skin. Which again shows how insecure and fake she is. And how dumb she thinks everyone else is. I'm not a circus person, but clearly Dorinda LOVES the circus. That was what I got from that. 14 Link to comment

Can't Romana go a single event without double booking herself a date? At the rate she talks about dating and seeing with my own eyes and ears just how horrible her flirting is, I feel like she goes on dates so that she feels she's still 'got it' but I get the impression that she's not going on many repeat dates with any of these guys. 11 Link to comment

It was just so cringey and gross...yeah, I refuse to watch any more “hidden” commercials like that so they better just cut that random promo shit right out or I’m out. Speaking of awkward, I don’t think we’ve ever had to endure so many scenes of a “friend of” RH that didn’t make the cut as a full-time RH like Barbra has...okay, maybe that Vidal Sassoon heiress from one of the Beverly Hills seasons, but even she didn’t get nearly as much screentime as grody ol’ Babs has so far. Barb really must’ve rubbed the producers/test audiences wrong to get demoted just before her season even aired. Wonder which dumbass casting director had the bright idea to cast her? She’s really just so off-putting, yet I dunno what it is about her exactly that makes her so unlikable beyond her fugly face/clothes/house/personality. Like she’s S4 Cindy Barshop levels of charmless screen presence. And when Ramona Singer actually dresses better than you, that’s kinda bad. Honestly, I still miss Carole, especially when having to endure all these clunky scenes featuring this hag Barb. I felt so sad for poor Tinsley, especially while she was all dressed up and drunk ugly-crying in that goofy Baby Jane outfit...there she was so excited to be in the circus, only to get completely upstaged by sloshed Sonja and shaded by both Dale and Scott! That was just pitiful to watch her having a mini-meltdown like that...homegirl needs some serious therapy indeed. She’ll never have the happy, healthy relationship she wants if she’s not happy and healthy herself. But it’s so sad that Tins can’t even seem to imagine any other life for herself than as some rich dude’s arm candy/trophy wife/baby mama...it’s all starting to ring so hollow to her now that she’s aging and running out of time, so my heart genuinely goes out to her. Despite all her talents and education and breeding/wealth, just being another stylish society wife/mother is all she was truly bred to be, sadly. Dale should’ve raised her with far more alternative goals than just that. Sonja and Lu have both grimly accepted their disgraced divorcée status and have learned to just go with the flow, but Tins just isn’t at that stage of her life yet. Oh Beth...watching you loosely narrate your latest court custody battle is beyond boring to watch. She wants more than to be some rich guy's arm candy/trophy wife/baby mama. She could achieve that fairly easily actually. She wants to be all that, AND a leading socialite in New York City again, and that will be impossible for her to attain. Those doors slammed shut after her divorce, and were bolted after what went down in Palm Beach. She has been out of that scene for the last 10 years. Surely she has to understand other women were working hard at causes and charities during that time. Why should she just expect she can walk right back in? With the "right" man? Despite her education and family background, it just seems curious that she is unable to adjust to this dynamic and carve out a whole new life for herself. Like she is unable to comprehend basic social clues. 8 Link to comment

I can barely process how awful that scene was. I’m legitimately worried for her. She needs intelligent, kind friends who encourage her again and again and again to seek serious talk therapy at minimum and to ghost Scott. There is no plausible scenario that makes him forwarding a text exchange regarding engagement rings as anything other than The Worst, chubby weak-chinned Midwest “baller” edition. She can do better than a portly neverwas thinks he’s hung zero. Pleeeaaaase. And it’s tragic, like dig up Flaubert tragic, that she can’t get past this socialite crap. No one envies those women anymore - NYSD and Page Six and Paris Hilton’s Silence of the Lambs porno killed it dead. Mommy sites routinely discuss the ghoulish surgeries of the social set on view at sites like the one I’m linking to. Tinsley is better than that even without her own understanding that she is better than that. The decades ahead for that set are grim. Good god. Sonja (I like transitions!) is a vicious viper. It’s like, shocking the hell out of me. The whoring for looks at the circus. The projection about Tins being a user. What a blunt, minus the bl, add a capital C. A mega that word. Okay, anyhoodle: I’m linking to a party photography site where you can see her ex and her former BFF at the ex’s museum benefit: https://www.patrickmcmullan.com/events/5cc7b765a2ea4b32ac000001/ Take a look at Father Time, dear reader. Gaze upon his doddering self: how infuriated is Sonja? Very. VERY. She knew he’d die in bed with her and leave her a small island and Bergdorf’s money for 200 years. And yet there he is, still going to benefit lunches and squinting at cameras and holding onto her girlfriend. When Sonja acts like what she really is, I look forward to her difficult future. She is a straight-up bad person. We all forget, but she likes to send up a flare every now and then. I LOVED RAMONA TAKING BARBARA SHOPPING WTF IS WRONG WITH ME. Needless to say it was illuminating. It was not at all what it was made out to be. Tinsley may have been ring master, but both Sonja and Dorinda made appearances in the Circus. Dorinda did something with horses that I don't think they showed. I think that these appearances were all prearranged and likely why Dorinda tagged along with Tinsley to a pre-show visit. I think Tinsley got upset Dale was there watching Sonja (and presumably Dorinda) getting to do something that got more reaction than Tinsley opening the show. She seemed genuinely supportive of Sonja until Dale started talking to Sonja across Tinsley about how great Sonja was. I didn't hear Dale criticize outside of talking heads. But there is always familial subtext that sets people off that outsiders don't see or feel the same about. 5 6 Link to comment

iloveit May 3, 2019 Share May 3, 2019 Omg I am so embarrassed, I was crying at the end of the episode when Tinsley was crying. I think maybe I have Mommy issues too? I think Dale has good and bad in her. Her advice at brunch was good but she does undermine Tinsley ALL THE DAMN TIME and definitely 100% enjoys Tinsley seeking her approval. She's need to lay off her criticisms. And let Tinsley fucking say fuck when she is describing how miserable she is!!! Scott sounds like such a manipulative ahole, showing her texts about buying her ring but never proposing. Good riddance to him. Maybe he is a nice guy in other contexts but he seems like a typical fvck boi. I hope Tinsley finds a nice man. I am glad we heard Dale's explanation about why Tinsley was having a harder time getting over her anger at her dad than Dale and Dabney. I can understand how Tinsley would be confused, hurt, angry, etc... that her dad didn't have a drinking problem when she was young and they were very close and then all of the sudden he is a mess - married and divorced again, embarrassing other Vegas style wedding to a 29 year old. It explains more why she feels like he chose drinking over his relationship with her. Tinsley and Luann's kids should start a support group together. Omg, fvck you Bravo for that Hustle movie BS. Embarrassing. I am glad I was watching a recording and could fast forward. Loved Sonja and the baby! "I've got my own poop problems" LMAO! That baby was precious and clearliy having a ball. Sonja's talking heads have been hilarious the past couple episodes. Dorinda was so jealous about not getting to be in the circus - Big Apple Circus should ask her to do it next year! Good god. That is Tinsley's biggest problem. If she didn't give a shit about the socialite set (and who really does except for the so-called socialites???!), she'd feel a lot better about herself and would be able to meet someone she could be with. If she doesn't get a grip on reality and what is actually important and fulfilling, she will end up like Sonja (minus the Grey Gardens and teeth falling out in the middle of lunch), Ramona (pretending she has dates every night while falling all over her cheating ex when he shows up somewhere), Lu (marrying some loser yahoo just to be married), Dorinda (keeping a man she doesn't love on a string just to not be alone and to hold on to vestiges of her ex), and Bethy (maneater who claims every man is in love with her and might have committed suicide by opiods over her while sobbing endlessly about her horrible life and horrible ex she used to give her a baby and a tv show and whom she'd like to disappear). She is young, wealthy and has so many options for how to live her life! NYC socialite has to be among the most boring and unhealthy options to set her heart on. Break free of the expectations Dale imposed upon you! Travel the world, see the Taj Mahal, rent a cottage on the beach for 6 months in the Caribbean, go snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, go shopping in Paris and Milan....live your life!! 13 Link to comment

Didn't she leave Jill's dinner early (the one Simon came along to) early because she ostensibly had other plans? Even if they're not real plans, I think she has to have an "out" in case she needs it. 13 Link to comment

I'd understand if they had kids together, but I find it odd. That's probably how she feels she is known. When Tina Turner divorced Ike, she said, "I'm famous as Tina Tuner and I'll be damned if you take that name from me." I don't think keeping the last name is about feelings for the guy. I never changed my last name because it's a hassle, but also because everyone knows me professionally by my maiden name, that's the name on all my work, my transcripts, the name the network I've been building for 20 years knows me as. I think Ramona also gets bored very easily and is naturally most comfortable hustling. She's like Bethanny, only Bethanny will stick around and make mean comments and take over conversations to be about her to keep herself interested and entertained. 7 Link to comment

Tins gets paid to be on this show and she could have exited to the bathroom if she felt a breakdown coming or during the breakdown if she didn't want to be on camera. She wants all this to be aired. I think she knows it makes her seem human and relatable. It gives her airtime and all that airtime gives her fame for her "brand" of "It Girl." She's no dummy. Maybe I'm the only one but sometimes I feel like she acts her crying jags. I think the one last season where she and Dale were crying over Tinsley's ova was acted -- and poorly, and probably a few others. The one the other night, though -- there was some raw stuff coming out. Certainly fueled by the wine, but for some people, in vino veritas (NOT looking at you, Lu), and I think it was definitely a vino veritas moment for Tinsley. 5 Link to comment

kicksave May 3, 2019 Share May 3, 2019 (edited) Tinsley...she has arrested development. I like her and find her fun but OMG...she is messed up. Her relationship with her passive aggressive mother is like at a 14 year old girl level. When she drinks she is wild and crazy but then she becomes weepy and melancholic. She needs some therapy STAT! Her mother is a piece of work...that comment about how Tinsley got a small part and how Sonja stole the show with her funny and unscripted antics was really shitty. Her mother gloms onto Tinsley and the other RHONY women trying to relive her younger years as a sought after debutante or something. If Tinsley EVER hopes to have a serious romantic relationship again, she should not tell her mother about it or share it with RHONY...those bitches were absolutely giddy about her break up. Tinsley...get some counseling and ditch your mother...she's toxic. She doesn't even know how to comfort you without admonishing you or making you feel worse. It's no wonder your mother loves Sonja so much...they're both highly critical of you and tear you down every chance they can get. Send your mom back to Virginia and tell her stay there. Also...can't these women even go to circus without drinking??? Geez...Sonja made an ass out of herself...but she always does when she's loaded. Edited May 4, 2019 by kicksave 1 12 Link to comment

She has a lot to be proud of for that, but let's not straight up lie. I couldn't handle that shit with grace. I manage a venue and it is at a university. Occasionally we get some people who have Lu levels of superiority (who honestly have some talent, they do, not Ludini) and my 1st thought is you are playing the effing XXX, not Staples Center so bring it down a notch. 6 12 Link to comment

That's a great point - any scandal around Frankel could probably be used to justify nullifying her deal since her name (privately and Skinnygirl-wise) is associated with a "use responsibly" product - I'm betting Beam's lawyers weren't thrilled her married boyfriend/ fiance/whatever was an addict (and also drove her daughter around while likely taking opiods). Add in Frankel passed out drunk on the show = not a good look for their brand. She'd be smart to take the money and run, imo. 18 hours ago, Midnight Cheese said: There is no plausible scenario that makes him forwarding a text exchange regarding engagement rings as anything other than The Worst, chubby weak-chinned Midwest “baller” edition. She can do better than a portly neverwas thinks he’s hung zero. SO. GOOD! (and please god, let him see it. Please! Better yet: Tinsley, send it to Scott with a giant floral wreath shaped like a middle finger). I think he was lucky to have Tinsley interested in him and invested in his life - lucky to have a girlfriend who praised his self-made status in her confessionals, praised him for being a "regular" guy, not like the trust funders she grew up with, and willing to do those coupon cabin ads. Fuck him. He was a bore and a user and that ring shit was cruel. I hope she gets therapy, and then gets set up with Russ the hunky guy. Quote @iloveit Dorinda was so jealous about not getting to be in the circus - Dorinda actually did participate in Big Apple - guess they were trying to force a storyline into place and cut her out - once again, the RHoNY editors were up to their monkey tricks (although no actual monkeys were harmed in the editing of the circus episode - well, except the one Ramona left to date ; ) Edited May 3, 2019 by film noire 2 12 Link to comment
AnnA May 3, 2019 Share May 3, 2019 (edited) I'm not sure that Tinsley is as wealthy as people think she is. Didn't Tinsley's father squander his fortune? She may be comfortable but I doubt she is super rich. I also doubt her ability to regain her socialite status. I don't think the "high society" social scene in NYC or anywhere else would associate with Bravo's HWs. Edited May 4, 2019 by AnnA 1 9 Link to comment

The role that Tinsley had was minimal and frankly, uninspired. I don't believe that the Sonja bit was unplanned. For all the talk about it, there was very little involvement. This was a commercial. This is the future of television, and I'm not here for it. 😕 All that prepping with costume, makeup, hair and glitter for one sentence? 8 Link to comment
