Brienne getting knighted and her two "suitors" gave me life. 

Loved Tyrion and Jamie as always. And I got misty at Sansa's reunion with Theon. They get each other.

Wonderful episode that I know is going to set us up for the heartbreak to come. Everyone here is at their best, and reminded us why we cared about them:

1) Jaime knighting Brienne gave me all the feels. Best platonic friendship ever.

2) Jaime and Tyrion reuniting and reminding us that at heart both are brothers who love each other and their family.

3) Arya reminding us both why she's funny ("I'm not spending my last moments with you two miserable old shits") and why she's awesome (her getting her groove on -- totally unexpected but hey, nothing like an end of the world tumble in the sack). 

4) Sansa and Theon - two of the most despised characters in GoT history hugging and crying and reminding us why they are the way they are -- only they know each others' traumas.

5) Jon doing the right thing and telling Dany the truth about his parentage. 

6) Tormund being creepy at that End of World drunken party by drinking goat's milk.

7) Dany and Jorah having a nice moment.

8.) Sam proving that he might not be a great fighter but he's a great thinker AND he's bagging the hot Gilly

9) Missandei and Gray Worm. Heartbreaking.

Which is why I already know the next episode is going to be devastating. We saw every character at their absolute best. It's going to be a massacre the next episode, and I'm not sure I'm ready for it.

Dany corrected several errors this week, but there's no way she's giving AemonJon the throne. That woman loves her titles.

Jaime and Bran, Jaime and Brienne, Jaime and Tyrion. Nailed it every scene. I cried when he knighted Brienne, it's all she ever wanted. Not spoiled here, but if we lose him, I'm going to be pissed. I've waited years for his redemption arc.

Sansa and Theon, they redeemed him too. Damn

Loved Sam giving Jorah the sword.

I felt all kinds of weird watching the Arya/Gendry scene. I don’t know how old she’s supposed to be in the show, but she still looks twelve-ish to me, and I know the actor playing Gendry has to be pushing 30. Maybe I’m just getting old. Does she look like a teen to others? Maybe she just has one of those faces. 

Edit: Maisie Williams is 22. I think they could have possibly made her up to look a bit older, but she does indeed have one of those faces.

Ayra got some from Gendry, Brieanne was Knighted, swords were given, truth bombs exploded and everyone got drunk before they will die. This was the episode of happy reunions only to tear it all way in the battle. 

Dany knows the truth, but they have to survive first to have people to the be King or Queen of.

Look at Jaime, running around making amends in the final hours.

Powerful moment between Sansa and Theon. Even Dany seemed struck by it.

Tormund's priorities were clear, asking right away about The Big Woman. The heart wants...

Heh, Brienne with her two ersatz suitors eyeballing each other. What an embarrassment of riches. Girl, you could've been the creamy filling in a delicious Jaime and Tormund cookie sandwich.

You go, Arya! Get you some Gendry! Be funny if when the war is over she and Gendry are alive and expecting a baby.

Lady Mormont stays being fierce.

Oh Jon. Timing is everything and you picked the wrong time. Dany is probably going to arrange for you not to survive the war.

OMG. I had the worst possible feeling,, just because this is GOT and there can't be a happy ending, ever. 

Gendry and Theon will die, because there is no way that either Aria or Sansa could ever be happy. Same with Gray Worm. 

I only hope that Brienne lives and either Jaime or Tormund. Please D&D do not kill them both.

It's like seeing a kid you used to babysit naked. In your mind you know she's an adult, but in your heart she's still a kid.

As soon as Arya asked Gendry if he had any experience, I knew what was going down.  Arya even got the bonus of now knowing Gendry's parentage.

Poor Daenarys.  She struck out with Sansa and learned she wasn't the last Targaryen in one day. Girl, he RODE your dragon. You should have gotten a clue then.

Gilly looks well fed. A new Tarly on the way?

FANTASTIC episode. Jaime knighting Brienne--epic. Loved how they did not shy away from Sansa v. Dany (that was a great conversation that went all over the place--loved their bonding and then Sansa all "we are not dropping this--we don't want to be ruled") and then Jon bringing up the news. (I thought they would wait until after the battle to discuss that.) Arya with Gendry was...unexpected but okay, whatever.

I just loved all the moments. Lyanna with Jorah (sadly, I feel we may have seen the last of her--I just worry that she is angst-bait for the writer. Tiny Lady Mormont fighting the dead? She's a goner). Sansa with Theon. Missandei with Grey Worm. The conversation at the fireplace.

This was a great episode.

I've always had a soft spot for Theon. Why? Who knows... Sansa's reunion with him brought a tear to my eye. This character has gotten a pretty good redemptive arc and I am here for it. I hope he survives, helps Bran to survive and then heads south and kills his uncle.

Why would Daenerys be freaked out by the incest part.  Her parents were siblings.  Her grandparents were siblings.  Their family tradition going back centuries was incest.  She probably grew up with her brother telling her they will marry when they grow up.   Why would she think that sleeping with her nephew was anything abnormal?  Of course she went straight to "so who gets the throne then" part.

I absolutely HATE that I have to wait a week to see what happens next.  Sigh.

The only character guaranteed to live past next week is Cersei Lannister.  How you like dem apples?

I didn't think Jon would come forward with the truth so fast.  I can't decide if he was wise or not.  I guess it all depends on how Dany takes it.

Dany and Sansa.  Sansa wants to know what happens if they live through everything.  That's a line of demarcation that will prevent any friendship/genuine bond from ever truly developing.  Dany can subdue the North, but she doesn't want to do it that way (at this time) but Sansa wants the North Independent, henceforth and forevermore.  How does this kind of disagreement resolve?  I can't think of any way other than force.  And though she will have been declawed, if Dany goes there, she'll have a sworn enemy in Sansa Stark.

Was genuinely surprised Sansa leaned towards granting Jaimie mercy.  I expected her to be "off with his head."

Her moment with Theon was VERY surprising and I don't know why.  Sansa doesn't often seem to let herself feel emotion these days.  Theon had a hard time keeping his eyes off Sansa when addressing Dany.

And Sansa spending what could be her last night alive with Theon while Winterfell was preparing for battle.   She looked so warm and soft, not something she lets herself show these days.  Not even with other Starks really.  I guess surviving Ramsay creates something truly unique.

Sansa and Theon's hug was an emotional gut punch I didn't know could happen. You once again saw the vulnerable Sansa of old come out with her joy and relief and happiness at Theon's return. I mean she launched herself into his arms and Theon, oh, Theon, the relief in her embrace and acceptance. Then later when he said he'd protect Bran, Sansa had such a proud smile on her face for him. And then they're having dinner together before the storm?  It did not go unnoticed that the sexually traumatized Sansa is paired with a man who lacks the equipment to be a threat to her in that way (leaving out sodomy by other means) but they actually have an intimacy that I like that's not sexual. And if this is Theon's last hurrah, I'm glad that it was having been accepted back and forgiven by the family he betrayed and whose family he was part of in a weird way.

Dany alllllmost was making ground with Sansa until Sansa showed that, yeah, she could play nice too, but still get down to brass tacks and want to know the real deal about how the North would be run after all was said and done. She is DONE letting sweet words of flattery blind her to what's going on.

Lyanna Mormont and Ser Jorah was great. I loved that she still called him cousin and how much he respected her. And then Sam giving Jorah the sword? Tears.

Dany was all cool with Sam until she realized the books he stole weakened her claim on the Iron Throne. Girlfriend was pissed!

I’m finding it all very watered down/dumbed down, like they know there are all these beats they have to hit and they’re just checking them off a list, with no nuance and no eye to writing particularly compelling dialogue, just a bunch of exposition bombs. Is that what you mean, or something else?

I really enjoyed this episode.  I liked the quiet character beats, the calm before the storm.  There were really some stand out moments...

Jaime's meeting with Bran at the tree.  

Tyrion's truth bomb to Jaime that he always knew what Cersei was he just loved her.

Brienne being knighted and the reaction of those who witnessed it.

Sansa's and Daenerys's talk.  It was going so well until Sansa pressed about the North.  Well, they've got a few bridges to cross before that is something that needs to be dealt with.

Sansa showed real emotion.  Well, just let me say, "yay!"  Although, I don't understand why she is demonstrably more affectionate to Theon than she is with her blood siblings and Jon.  

Sam giving Jorah his family's Valerian steel sword.  

The Hound telling Arya that he fought for her.  Mic drop.

The little girl who reminded Davos of Shireen.

Lady Mormont still talking shit, this time to her cousin.

People persuading others to see a different point of view. Ser Jorah with Dany, Dany with Sansa, Brienne vouching for Jaime.

We saw Ghost!!!!!!!  I actually cheered.

Jon telling Daenerys the truth of his birthright and her hardly shocking reaction.  LOL  Well, that's something else that will need to be dealt with after the battle with the dead.

This was an excellent episode.  Can't wait to watch it again.
