Kalani & Asuelu: Cheeto Dust and Slut People

I tried to research what her educational background and job was and could only find "reality TV star." But I thought this was interesting, although totally unsubstantiated:

Kalani Faagata: Net worth, Salary

It is rumored that Kalani has an impressive net worth and salary. Both of them are under review.

I'm curious about what kalanis dad does.  He seems to make quite a bit of money, but he doesn't look like a corporate type.

Kalani said that she spent all her savings on Airbnb and trips to Samoa.  AND she lived with her sister, so I don't think kalani made a lot of money.

But her dad has at least two homes, and ostensibly paid for the wedding since ansuelo not kalani have any money.  So what does he do for a living?!??

I'm guessing he owns some kind of construction company.  Just guessing.

Kalani is so entitled and above it all, she should have only relied on herself for some form of reliable birth control especially knowing how he felt about having more babies.  Breast feeding is not any form of birth control and she should know that yet she still blames the pregnancy on Asuelo lol.

Watching her nurse Oliver while pregnant with #2 (and looking quite comfortable with her situation) smacks of "Duggarville". Something is not right with this gal, and I feel bad watching her manipulate Asuelo so easily. I know he is naive, but is he missing a couple of crayons from his pack?  She is definitely accustomed to not telling the truth.

Anyone else concerned by Aseulu’s behavior at the end of tonight’s tell all, when the fight erupted between Larissa and Fernanda? He was visibly agitated as it grew more heated, at one point banging his hands into his ow head. He reminded me of an autistic child that was overstimulated... and he wasn’t even directly involved in the conversation.

I could not believe my eyes!  No modesty at all on national tv.  Surely she could have covered up a bit!

Asuelo seems to wear his heart on his sleeve.  His love for his mother his wife and baby shows his heart.

I was surprised at his rage at the end.  That seemed to come from nowhere from the gentle giant!

I thought she breastfed very tastefully - between Oliver’s Head and her hair you could t see anything. I don’t like Kalanj but she scores points from me for feeding her child when he was hungry.

I totally emphasized with his rage as Larissa's voice is like LOUD nails on a chalkboard, and he was straining to hear Fernada. Meanwhile, Larissa was screaming and cutting Fernando off with absolute nonsense like "You're so jealous" ro "Shut it!"

I used to think Asuelu was just kind of simple and chalked it up to him living a different lifestyle in Samoa. But the way he was getting so upset hitting his head and turning into the Hulk at the end of the reunion show makes me think he is actually mentally disabled.

Ok. That picture is so weird. I have a sister as well, but I can't imagine we'd ever take such a picture.

I've noticed the younger crowd has a penchant for over the top lovey dovey stuff.  Stuff that makes people more my age (mid 40's) just go "HUH?"  My cousin (who is a year younger than me) has a daughter who is right around 19.  She has a cousin (not on my side) who is a year older (so around 20).  They are, naturally, close.  While they don't take photos that odd, they take TONS of selfies with duck lips, "surprise" faces, etc.  My cousin's daughter captions them "normally", but the other cousin always posts stuff like "Insert Name Here (first and middle name):  God didn't bless me with a sister, but you are the next best thing.  You are my reason.  You make me accountable."   Um...Whut?

I’m driving to St George next week (from Moab). Maybe I’ll see them! :D

Thanks for weighing in on this.  I think many people are unaware of the strong Mormon Samoan community in Utah. You explained it well.

I also think traditional Mormons don’t look down upon people having babies in quick succession, and some would applaud it. I think of the communities to the south of where I live as examples of this.  Personally, I don’t think it’s good for the body,  but I know women who have had 10 kids and look just fine.  It seems odd to outsiders, but it seems more cultural than religious to me, an outsider.

If you are in St George , is pretty small, you could hit many reality spots. I know fans of sister wives or polygamy shows make pilgrimages here.  Boo Hole park (where Asuelo learned how to ride a bike is right off exit 12!

They can have all the babies they want as long as they can support them!  No job and living in dad's basement making babies just isn't right.

Anybody happen to know what dad does for a living?  He does seem to have some bucks!  Actually what kind of work do they all do other than Asulo of course!  He's just the dancing sperm donor!  Lol

My thought when Kalini said she was pregnant was how is she paying for this? The welfare fraud to pay for maternity care here is so rampant even  with devout LDS because of limited health care options here. Kalini went to the new best OB/GYN clinic. There are honest people who pay cash but they usually go to a very good family doctor that offers lower cash prices not the fancy new clinic. There is no CA plans  to work where she was going to the doctor. There is only one marketplace plan and the cheapest doctor hospital birth with the one plan is still 5 figures but if they are both unemployed, it is hard to get on this plan(I spent hours trying to get a family on the plan with no luck because they were not working)   I'll just think positive thoughts that her family is paying for the best clinic for her.  I don't mind the living in the basement. It is SO common in southern Utah. Rent is crazy high here, it is considered worse the San Fran, plus we almost a 0% vacancy rate. Jobs are plentiful but not enough to live (unless you bought a home years ago). My son has over 40 high school classmates married already and at least 20 live in the basement. A 2 bedroom apartment if you could find one is $1400, a 3 bedroom basic home closer to $2000, it might not seem too high but the wages are low, average is 22k a year or a family 48k. the average family income could barely qualify for a 900 sq ft 2 bedroom 25 year old apartment in poor repair. If you are lucky to have a basement to live in like Kalini , then life is great for these young couples, nice weather, low crime, family friendly life. The goal is to live in the basement for 5 years to save enough to buy a home. Until 2018 this was doable but impact fees (due to the lack of water, fast growth and need for more services) and lack of non BLM land made building new homes go up about dramatically. I sold my home for 35% more in 2018 then I would have gotten in 2017 because of the lack of new housing. Kalini might be stuck in the basement longer then she expected. There is tons of work so if Asuelo really wants to work hard or two jobs in construction or troubled youth programs he could make decent money.

As for Asuelo hitting himself on the show last night, I hope Kalini comes out with some response. I've seen many guesses but I'm not here to dx someone. I just would like to see her or his explanation or even some of the other cast members reactions.

That is what they are for you know - feeding babies. All you could see was the back of Oliver's head - her hair and her dress covered everything else. I really don't see a problem and it's certainly not classless to breastfeed a child. Even in front of (gasp) other people!

I would say it was just...odd. For me, it was the fact that she was filming a reunion show on a stage. She couldn't have taken a break? I'm sure if she told producers her child was hungry they would've allowed that. I don't have issues with women breastfeeding babies in public. It was just the circumstance that was so odd.

LOL, Colt and Larissa showed up hours late with zero fucks given.  I'm sure kalani could have left to breast feed Oliver if she wanted to.

I have no true feelings on whether or not Emily post would agree about breast feeding in public, and she had the right to do whatever.  But I don't think tlc would have cared at all.

I don't know what her rationale was - maybe she thought it would spark some controversy and put her in the spotlight a bit. For me, I thought it actually was a nice way of normalizing breast feeding; it's just as natural as an adult picking up a glass of water and taking a sip in the middle of an interview. No need to take a break.

Asuelu is not on the spectrum... according to Dr. Kalani.

Hell if I know what's wrong with the guy, but he shouldn't be left alone with a kid if the noise of a loud human voice "triggers" him.

https://soapdirt.com/90-day-fiance-asuelu-not-autistic-says-kalanis-sister-hes-just-sick-of-reality-tv/

Asuelu even scared Lincoln Beard into jumping up out of his seat!  Not that he's a bastion of courage or anything, but still... imagine how he would scare a little baby!

Given Kalani's history of great decision making, I'm sure Asuelu has become her #1 babysitter... while she doesn't work.

90 Day Fiance star Kalani Faagata and sister Kolini Faagata are defending Asuelu Pulaa from mean comments saying he’s autistic. Malicious rumors sprang up about his “unusual” behavior during the Tell All.

The truth (a far more "mean comment") is that he's a bad-tempered idiot with a wife, two babies, and no qualms about being physically threatening toward women.

LOL: per Kolonics, their mom is a behaviorist and "can instantly tell when someone is on the spectrum"... talk about malicious rumors.

I think it's too bad that saying someone's is autistic is seen as a slight.  I love my autistic nephew.

There is just something funky in the stew that is ansuelo.  It's like when you put almond milk in your frosted flakes, it tastes okay and almost normal, but obviously there is something not quite right.

Stigma.  Stereotypes.  Particularly harmful for a group that has a hard time verbalizing their objections to injustices they're suffering (unlike #BLM, #TimesUp, etc.)

For many people, the only time they hear the word 'autistic' is when someone unqualified is armchair-diagnosing another, based on bad behavior and stereotypes.

Anyone want to make some of Family Kalani's all carb diet and tell us how it pans out?

I think that Asuelu is not American, nor raised with the same behaviors that we think are normal. I think he lives with his heart on his sleeve, as evidenced by the way he expresses his feelings about his family , but wrt his expressions of frustration, it's as though no one has ever told him, "Hey, don't do that. It's weird." I also think his sing songy voice is due to his native language. I think he's just not like people in American culture.

Yeah, I know people get tired of taping but like a) no one was asking him very much and b) that reaction doesn't seem like "reasonable person annoyed at taping"

Also, it takes some level of commitment to speak in a completely different manner than you're used to for any entire season of filming.

I was just thinking about this last night, actually (not in relation to 90 DF - but in relation to someone asking for translation rights to one of my books and what it would be like if I did a book tour in that country). I speak a few other languages at a rudimentary level. I would get by if I visited places where the languages were spoken, but I'd sound like I was not very bright. Although I like to think I'd avoid barking and hitting myself when I got frustrated. However, in a culture where that is the norm, they might think there was something up with my calm facade when something went wrong.

I don't believe that characters who are 'different' are 'automatically pegged as being on the spectrum' by posters on this forum. Rather, people see various behavioural tics, or voice modulations and identify it with something they're familiar with (either through work or family). It's not a negative association, at least it's not for me. I think people forget how common it is to meet others 'on the spectrum' while living our daily lives. Of the ten people in my wing (at work) two have aspergers and are quite proud of their diagnosis, given the high intellect that accompanies the label.

I disagree with Kolini's insistence his smacking his head was in response to being sick of taping. Hardly, he did that in response to Larissa's voice and I don't blame. His responsive demonstration was the ONLY thing that would 'shutty her up' because she was shouting over anyone who (God forbid) used words. Larissa is certifiable. I think that Kalani’s  rationale was she wanted a break from being grilled breast-feeding on camera so she would not be get asked the hard questions about what a controlling asshole her father is, what they plan to do for a living or where they’re going to live, Why they’ve never heard of contraception etc. She has been raised by her father who is an abusive man and manipulator in my opinion and she would not say the word shit if she had a mouth full of it.  She is frightened and trying to survive.  Dysfunction Junction. They had plenty of breaks to feed the baby for practical need. She didn’t feed him for hunger she fed him for her own needs.

I am the first person That would say it is OK to breast-feed your child on-demand and do so in a public place. But Kehlani comes from a long line of fucked up dysfunction and her family and as well trained on manipulating the situation so that the elephant in the room is not called out. It’s how family Kalani survives.

I don't get the impression that ansuelu has the level of forethought to come up with a plan to bark and smack his head to get Larissa to quiet down.

Say what you will about Larissa, but she got what she wanted.  She got all the attention, the rest of the cast spent their time talking about her even when she wasn't there, she spent all the time SHE wanted to prepare for the reunion, even though she was late and ultimately no one wanted to confront her to her face.

Not Ashley the badass with the backhand, not Fernanda, not kalani.  And it's not because they are all such classy broads.

Fernanda basically traded sex for tuition, fake boobs and a Jeep she can't  drive. Kalani has been impregnanted twice by a simpleton and seems confused about how babies are made.  Ashley bought a 20 year old, and remains with him in spite of the fact that he created a tinder account in the same week he got married.  Absolutely none of them have some moral high ground.

If they say that all Larissa wants is attention, every single one of them got played by her.

Fernanda threw the first verbal jab and she ended up having to leave the stage to shittalk with a camera behind the scenes.  If you mess with the bull, don't be surprised when you get the horns.

I'm hoping Kalani/Kolini meant that as two separate things, because he's been 'diagnosed' as autistic by some, & slow by others. I'm an autism mom so of course I know they are not the same thing. But I'll try to give her this one as maybe she's trying to address two separate issues in one post & it came together wrong.
