Playing “family ski cabin” instead of “family picnic.”

It would have been amazing if this was the title of the episode!

Why is David still on my aceeen? When will he be fired?!?!? Seriously, “why are the cameras in here? We aren’t doing anything, there’s no reason for them to be here we are going home!” I did not get that? I know the gang was leaving the vacation (which wow looked like a super fun vacation.. not) but mtv would still have footage of them driving home, why David? Because both you and Janelle have agreeed to be on a reality show, that means mtv puts cameras in your car and they don’t care what you are doing in your car. Seriously. Ugh. And the way they treated the kids was awful. Both of them. And Janelle thinks she can handle this on a day to day basis?

I still don’t watch Brianna. I don’t watch Kail anymore either.

Leah seems to be doing really good.   Although I’m confused with the venue choice for the bday party, apparently there were other options and this one was the best for Ali? Okay? I wonder what the other venues were like then. Also I smiled that one of the unicorns had glasses like Ali.

I have nothing to say on Chelsea that hasn’t been said. The only thing I feel for is for Aubree but  she has Cole and I think she’ll be okay. I don wonder if anyone is going to explain the situation to her about Adam. Soon she will have questions.

Its scary how all the original kids are now turning 8. Only seven years away from when their moms started on these shows.

I ask the same question about Brianna and the coven? When will she "quit" aka be fired and off my screen?

Can you imagine being like “what’s his problem, dude?!” about your 3 year old?! His “problem,” as always, is the asshole adults in his life. Telling him when he can or can’t poop?! David makes me wanna shit too, Kaiser. Someone is ringing the doorbell? Ohhhh maaahhh god, dude!!!! The torture, the stress. I fucking hate them. Horrifying when they tried to remove the cameras and David (Duke Jr) went off on his rant. I wonder why the kids “don’t act right” with the best examples of decorum right there in front of them. They’re kids acting like kids and David is a psycho acting like a psycho. I hope MTV shows every bad clip they have of the fucker.

I can't imagine ever calling my child "dude". I dont event want to use the word "dude" anymore because I dont want to sound like Janelle LOL

I dont have kids but could've told them a weekend in a cabin with four kids would not be relaxing.

I think that other parents have attempted to use footage from the show in custody cases and that it isn't allowed.

I have assumed this is because the footage is edited and manipulated and lines are sometimes fed. Also, MTV doesn't want the cast to back out because they might be held liable for their behavior in some way. Also, I assume that MTV would fight any subpoena of their footage tooth and nail. It is my long held opinion that the bullshit with Amber and Gary way back when scared them enough that they walk a very fine line to not air anything that clearly demonstrates domestic violence and that they've promised the main cast to do everything they can to avoid being put in the Amber situation again.

Someone else correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly, but per that Reddit AMA, if a crew member witnesses what they see is domestic abuse, they have to notify the producer, who then decides whether or not to involve the authorities.

What you say makes sense, and it makes me sad.  I hope, then, that the public shaming Jenelle and UBT are suffering helps curb their mistreatment.  This treatment of Kaiser really disturbs me.  It's such casebook abuse--one child is picked on by the abusive parent, and soon enough the other kids know that they can pick on him with impunity.  The book "The Basement" by Kate Millett is a horrifying classic about this topic.  Others have pointed out that CPS goes out of its way not to break up families, which is good, I guess, and I know this is true, but it's really upsetting to see this going on without the hope that the authorities will step in and save this kid.

Yeah as I said I don’t even watch Brianna and I haven’t since her first episode. Nothing about her story intrigues me or makes me want to watch it. She’s nothing new, her “story” was told before through the other four. The only thing she does is screw up the format.

And I don’t watch Kail anymore because her story seems more of the same.

And I’m starting to not  want to watch Janelle anymore. But I may keep watching because it’s always fun to see Janelle will say about Barb and I’m hoping for the happy ending where she stops saying she’s going  to get Jace back, like he’s a puppy.

And yeah.. while Chelsea’s story is pretty much the same, mostly her and Adam stuff and then her having actual happy moments with her kids, that’s a nice palette change I need to watch of kids enjoying their life.

Leah is the only story that seems to have changed..for the better and maybe we and the editors are giving her too much credit but she seems somewhat normal and has for a bit now. Maybe because the show seems to be editing her in a better way and when paired with the other stories, she’s normal and more humble than people like Kail who seriously is not only rude but a gross person in general.

Oh and the reveal that the Land is beginning to swallow the house set my schadenfraude meter to maximum.

Speaking of telling on themselves. So, how can a man who didn't sign a birth certificate or VAP papers manage to obtain for emergency custody? Me thinks the paternity test came back and established Chris as the dad and Hulk decided to leave that part out. In a way, I don't blame him for staying away until paternity was established because who wants to get attached to a child who may not be his and who wants to deal with Hulk anymore than they have to? I have to say, I love that all of Kail's attempts to get Chris to  be with her have blown up in her face.

@FlowerofCarnage I love that you have a schadenfreude meter.  ?❤️

So am I the only one who thought Jenelle and David may have been asked to leave the cabin early by management or the owners? I figured maybe they had an epic fight and neighbors or other guests complained.

It took me, and google, forever to figure out where i’d seen Kail’s podcast partner. Lyndsie doesn’t cross me as the type of person who would want to hang out with Kail. Hell, on Christly Knows Best she comes off as uptight and a little snobbish. The money must be good because these two are unlikely to run in the same circles.

My guess is that Brittney has spent a lot of time, and money,  over the years taking care of Nova. Maybe she just wants to chill and she was caught on a day where she had to film and she just didn’t feel like putting in the effort to perform like a trained seal.

I’ve seen major growth with her. There’s many things I’m still side-eying her i.e., lack of use of the willchair and not spray tanning her hands when she does her face or not finishing what she starts (college dropout twice!) and maybe some minor pillses usage (I don’t think she takes as much pillses as she did before) but other than that she’s very humble. We witnessed a dark time in her life where she was only in her early twenties with two failed marriages, a child with disabilities. I know she caused the divorces but it’s still a traumatic experience and we were all young once and acted stupid in relationships but most of us didn’t have kids with those screwed up relationships.

Jeremy told her he was continuing his job before they got married but I can see how hard it was being married to someone while never seeing them and he would only come home for one day to have sex with her then leave with hardly any communication between days off. There were rumors that Jeremy was hitting stripclubs frequently and chatting with strippers through text while on the road and I can see how that hit Leah hard and left her feeling unattractive, insecure within the marriage and uncared for which may have help lead her to the cheating. I have to find out where I found the rumors. Not defending her cheating at all.

I found one of the articles about the stripper thing ...

Kailyn wants to bleach her asshole. Because those are the things she thinks about. ??? What the actual fuck? I feel like that’s a procedure only a porn star or stripper would “need.” I can’t let my mind go any further in regard to Kailyn and her asshole bleaching needs. I

I think Kailyn just wants us all to believe that she is soooo hip and cool. She’s always talking about off the wall shit or what is trending. I think she sometimes copies Chelsea like when Chelsea was talking about designs on her vag. When Chelsea says it it sounds more natural but when Kailyn talks about bleaching her asshole it sounds forced!!! Hard to explain my exact thoughts about it. Basically, Kailyn is a #tryhard

Briana - Briana can save all over those dramatic scenes about leaving Stella at the daycare. Four months prior she was talking up an adoption storyline. And can she ever go anywhere without the coven??? Any man would hate to have personal conversations with the girls mob squad around to make things more dramatic.

Jenelle and UBT make every fun thing for kids a dark and scary place. Did any of you catch when Jace and Marissa were getting into the car one of them said “where are we going?” and the other replied “don’t know and don’t care!!” That speaks VOLUMES when kids say that during a family vacation for their moms/step moms birthday. They don’t like them!!!

Free Kaiser!

This is so true of Kail. I do imagine that production has them do this, so they can try and "organically" reveal what happened in court. But even without that, Kail always seems to find the need to surround herself with a posse. I just wonder how many of those people would be around if not for the perks of being her friend.

Since Kanal never had a family maybe she subconsciously needs her squad around her to feel that she has a connection. I'm just guessing. I'm sure she just likes having yes people around. Moving on ?

Nailed it. She did the same with the rainbow babies, the inflated ass, eating placenta pills, not vaccinating her kids, etc. She wants to think of herself as the reality version of Gywneth Paltrow or Angelina Jolie. But none of it is original. She can't just do her own thing, it has to be something that all the other Outrageous Hollywood Wives are already in the news for.

Do something interesting, Kailyn, and we'll watch. Take hot air balloon piloting lessons. Learn how to wakeboard. Grow your own food in your backyard. These are all unusual, unique things that you could do to make people pay attention to you without having to hear about your poop chute.

Kailyn is awful, but I’ve found that only children (and pseudo only children like me) tend to have more emotionally intense platonic relationships.

A co-worker said to me “I’ve noticed only children keep friends for years and years- I think that may be because they don’t have siblings.” My closest friends (emotionally intimate friends not socializing friends) are only children. Combine that with not having a lot of supportive older extended family members, I can see Kailyn valuing her friendships (as much as she is able given that she can be very self centered).

I know it's all been mentioned upthread, but I have to get it off my chest. I hate the way Kaiser is being to set up to fail.  He's going to be in big trouble if he poops his pants, but he can't go use the bathroom.  UBT announces that Kaiser always spills, yet he's given a heavy looking glass that he probably can't get his little hands around instead of a kid sized, spillproof  glass.  He gets yelled at for not having his shoes and socks on, but neither UBT or Jenelle will get off their ass to help him.  And why was he in a short sleeved t-shirt in the car when everyone else was wearing a winter coat?  I can't imagine the pent up anger and frustration he must be dealing with.  How sad that a bunch of strangers on the internet seem to care more about his welfare than the assholes he lives with.

I believe he was trying to release some of that pent up anger when he hit the cameraman in the balls.  He wanted to lash out at someone...anyone.

He scares me too, but Jenelle scares me just as much. While David seems prone to violent fits of rage...Jenelle is devoid of any emotion regarding said violent fits, her children, anything but her phone...and while I thought she loved her some Ke$ha, she couldn't even pretend to show emotion while speaking of her, Miley, or Cardi B. While I said earlier that David could've at least gotten her a card detailing the *paid for by her* gift, he might've been onto something by showing her a phone screen.

I am so confused as to how David even has partial custody of Marissa at this point.  It seems like whenever they're filming she's with him, so she must spend some time with him.  How is that even possible?  How is Marissa's mother allowing this to happen?  Is she a trainwreck like David is?  Or is it for the money?  I don't understand how any decent mother would let her child be anywhere near someone like David.  And if he's acting like that in front of the cameras, I shudder to think of how he is when the cameras aren't rolling.  MTV should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this blatant abuse of the kids to continue.

Back in the day when I used to watch this show, I distinctly remember that during my day at work or in a store, in the car, etc. I'd wonder how Jace was doing. Now that I've gotten sucked back in, I do the same thing for Kaiser. I feel so sorry for those kids. These two have no business having kids with them.

I watched all the episodes in a row so I don't remember which is which, but during the one where they were backstage at the reunion with all the drama, there was a scene of Nathan holding Kaiser. The kid was squirming and not smiling. Then I think Nathan brought him to Jenelle's room and Jenelle was all "Hi!!!" and there was zero reaction. No smile, no yay mom! Nothing. Then he went straight to Jace, who sat there with a straight face too.

There is no joy on the faces of these little kids. It doesn't take much at that Kaiser's age to get a big, happy smile but this poor little guy doesn't seem to have any happiness in him. I want to kill these people for robbing him of that and having him living in fear.

Okay, I feel a little nauseous even doing this but I have to: am I the only one who was expecting something a hell of a lot worse than what we were shown with all of the hoopla surrounding the infamous mountain scene? I mean, Kaiser walked up and punched a cameraman IN THE BALLS.   Is he not supposed to get reprimanded?  Now, I don't know what happened when David took him in the other room.  If he hit him that's NOT okay and I still hate Dave with every fiber of my being, but I didn't see anything that alarmed me or showed that Kaiser was being abused. Them not letting Kaiser get up from the table to poop wasn't a big deal in my opinion either.  My kid is always using "I have to poop!" as an excuse to get out of doing anything she doesn't want to do (and prolong bedtime to an exceptionally aggravating extent.) So I got that too.  I thought they overreacted with the leaving early because the kids were misbehaving but it wasn't evil, either.  They were already leaving that day they just left a couple of hours early because the kids were being insane. A better course of action would of course be to actually go and do something with them to get their energy out but this is J and D we're talking about.  The bar is very very low.

Ugh, I can't BELIEVE I'm sticking up for them.  I feel dirty.  I'm going to go shower now.

Nova, babe, I feel your pain.  My little sis was born when I was six.  I was *crazy* jealous, and of course she got different attention...silly, affectionate, etc.  And my 'rents were quite exhausted so their patience with me was not always the best.  oh well, I'm glad my little sis exists!!

Loving your kid is a basic expectation of a parent. Briana doesn't do much beyond that.

I don't have a problem with Brittany or Roxanne helping out; since, yes, Brianna works, and they all live together. But, she pawns Nova off on the damn iPad more than anything. She constantly has adult conversations in front of the child and has even subjected her to fights. She hops from dude to dude, lets dudes she barely knows live with her and change her baby's diapers. Plus, I don't think the adoption thing was genuine, I think it was for a storyline. She uses her kids and I also see her showing favoritism to the baby right now.

She's not much of a mother, if you ask me.

I definitely think Kaiser should have been disciplined for punching the camera man. Probably not by the person he learned punching FROM, though.

As for the potty thing - I get it. I totally get it. I've had my kids do that. But our doctor told us to always honor it. You never know when they're serious or not, but you don't want to start down that path, of them regressing and having accidents. It's just a phase, and about them trying to have SOME control. Kaiser, more than any child, probably really feels a need for some control in that chaotic life, and asking to go potty is the only way he can get it.

I think, for me, the cabin scenes weren't AS chilling as the final scene of them in the car. THAT'S what really got to me. David's tone was so severe, and the way he was demanding the cameras be taken down....I was afraid for what he was going to do.

I think the bigger problem is David saying Kaiser would be in trouble if he did poop his pants. That indicated to me that he at least knew there was a chance that Kaiser was telling the truth about having to go. Otherwise, why say that threatening part? If David wants to tell a 3 year old he CAN’T go to the bathroom when said 3 year old says he needs to go then David has to accept the risk he’s taking and that it would be HIS fault if Kaiser pooped his pants. I think most parents would accept that they were wrong by telling the kid they couldn’t go to the bathroom if the kid ended up having an accident. He’s THREE, he’s barely even been using the potty for long at all. Also, Nathan has already spoken about how Kaiser is having with the bathroom. I didn’t see anything normal about that scene. I think people get offended when Jenelle and David do things they might do themselves but the difference is that we know Jenelle and David are not normal, loving parents. Things are more nuanced than that and all their horrible “parenting decisions” added together shows there are clearly problems in their home, imo.

Right, she full on admitted that Chris wouldn't see Lux without the courts being involved yet she's....pissed he's using the courts?  Make up your mind, Kail.  And what's with her getting upset that Lux won't have both his parents when THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT CHRIS IS TRYING TO GIVE HIM?  It's Kail who is getting upset that he's going to have visitation.  But she's bitching he won't have both his parents.   I don't get it.  She's just mad her and Chris aren't playing happy family. THAT'S ON YOU, KAIL.  You're the one who decided to get knocked up by a guy you'd be dating for 5 minutes while married to someone else.  On purpose.  Lux's situation is 100% entirely YOUR doing.

God, she is absolute trash.

I watched that scene in the car and Kailyn made absolutely no sense at all.  I 100% believe he was waiting on the dna test to come back and when it did he filed for visitation and all that in a timely manner. Why should Chris have “supervised” visits until the end of Time ? He’s an adult, he’s not an addict or a felon- if Kailyn doesn’t need supervised visits with her children why would Chris?

What does she want Chris to do?!!!........(we all know she wants him to play house with her but she cannot say that because even she knows that sounds awful.)

I think, for me, the cabin scenes weren't AS chilling as the final scene of them in the car. THAT'S what really got to me. David's tone was so severe, and the way he was demanding the cameras be taken down....I was afraid for what he was going to do.

That got me as well. I know every parent has had that moment of "keep it up and I'll turn this car around and go home" but Dave and Jenelle have scary short fuses. If Kaiser had been pitching massive tantrums and Jace and Maryssa were at each others' throats then I could see the irritation, but none of them were acting that badly to warrant such a drastic response. I almost hope the show doesn't go away soon because I feel like the cameras give Jenelle at least a small measure of accountability.

I thought the kids were acting pretty typical for kids on a weekend morning. I think the issue here is - there is truth to what was said about the DumbFucks locking the kids outside at the land. They make them stay out there, doing God knows what, all day. Not because being outside and running wild is good for little kids (it is!), but because they don't want anything to do with their children (unless it's photo opportunity time). So up at the cabin, it's colder. Kids can't be outside all the time. Now they're actually forced to be around their children for extended periods of time and it shows. They have no idea what typical child behavior is.

Them not letting Kaiser get up from the table to poop wasn't a big deal in my opinion either.  My kid is always using "I have to poop!" as an excuse to get out of doing anything she doesn't want to do (and prolong bedtime to an exceptionally aggravating extent.)

Boy-child would claim to have to pee whenever we went shopping.  I always took him b/c I would've felt horrid if I let him have an accident because I  wasn't paying attention.  So I know every single bathroom in every shopping plaza in the surrounding five towns.  There was very little tinkling going on...

My teen still does that.  We get home, need to put away the groceries...guess what? He needs to pee!

And just the other day, we had just sat down with our food at the food court and my 6 year old needed to use the RR minutes (literally, minutes!) after she had used it at the movie theater. I told her to hold it!

This is hilarious to me because our son did the exact same thing. No matter where we were and even if he had just went to the restroom before we left the house, he ALWAYS had to go to the restroom when we got to where ever we were going. We used to tease him and say that he was going to be a health inspector when he grew up because we swore all he was trying to do was rate the cleanliness of every restroom we went to. LMAO

Everrrrrry time it's time to clean up, my 8-year-old conveniently needs to go to the bathroom. It's annoying, but I just let him. I'm not going to control his bowel movements.

I think they’re hyped up because 1- they aren’t paid attention to and 2- they probably eat a lot of junk food and sugar.

Bingo!  Also, I could tell by Kaiser's body language that he was over-tired.  My youngest son is about his age and over-tired or over-sugared has a "look."  It is easy to spot.

If that is the story I am thinking about, it makes me feel physically ill.  The one girl was singled out by the mother and she was tortured and had to live in the basement.  The other kids were either told to torture her, or allowed to do it.  I believe there was another child abuse story that went the same way recently.  One child picked to be the abused one, and all the other kids were left alone.  There are so many things in life I cannot wrap my head around, but this is probably the biggest thing.  I guess some people are just evil.

I think that it must be a cultural thing  because most of the people I know (including me) have friends for years mostly from school, university or, for the men, the army

Yeah I am not an only child, and all of my friends are from school.  I think some people are just long-term friend people, and not always only-children.

I really hate how Kail says "I love you" to all of her friends when ending every call.  That is weird to me.  I have told my friends I love them, but not on every call!  Kail is endlessly sucking from all of her friends.

My 5 year old does this when we sit down to eat, every meal.  I call his bluff and take him.  He poops every time!  I swear he is a magician who can do that on command.

And she was upset that the supervisor for the visits was going to be Chris's aunt!  She wanted a non-biased third party?  For what??  He is allowed to see his kid.  I hope, and I am sure they have by now taken away the supervised part of his visitation.

I think this is universal kid behavior.  The thing is, during potty training, you really do have to take the kid seriously when s/he says they need to use the bathroom, if only to teach them that it's important to put it in the pot.

When I was a kid--not a toddler, but ten years old or so, I always had to use the toilet right after dinner.  I was't kidding--it's just how my digestion was working then.  My mother always gave me shit so to speak about it--she accused me of trying to get out of doing the dishes--but I wasn't trying to get out of anything.  I knew I'd still have to do the goddam dishes.  I just needed to use the pot.

If you tell a little kid they don't have to use the pot when they say they do--even if they're faking--you're telling them that their instinct to poop is not to be trusted, and that's a bad thing.  Better to call their bluff and let them sit there with no results than to deny nature's call, even once.  But try telling that to Jenelle, who's checked out, or UBT, who is praying that the kid will shit himself so he can be punished.

Lurch telling Kaiser he couldn't use the bathroom, then threatening with with punishment if he pooped his pants made me call him filthy names outloud. It looked like they were eating breakfast or had just finished. Eating a meal often sets in motion the need to go poop.  It's called the gastro colic reflex and it's one of the first things you learn from the nurses after you have a baby. Baby eats, baby poops. Simple biology. We know from hearing Jace and Nathan talk about it that the swamp monster hits Kaiser if he has an accident. I would believe with no hesitation at all that that piece of shit sets that child up to fail so he can hit him.

How creepy was it when David leaned into the backseat and looked at the camera?  Yeesh.   He asks why they have all the camera's filming....hmmm, because you were on a reality show? Durr.  How stupid.

I agree...Save Kaiser.  Poor little nugget.  He looks so innocent.

He was acting like the camera's being in there was some new revelation! As if only they were filmed in their cars, and someone was just spying on them. You do know you only get to go on these family vacations because of the camera's right?

That car scene literally gave me chills! I mean the craziest thing is Kaiser is 3, 3 years old.... that is a toddler that you are yelling at like that. I just can't get over it. Those two are so horrible that they make Kail look like a sweetheart! Say what you will about what she does, but you know at the end of the day that she does love her boys... I can't say the same for Jenelle.

He actually said he had to poop the minute he sat down, he hadn't had a single bite to eat yet.   I agree with you on the threats about accidents, tho.
