Yes, she is under her boss's direction.  But Kelli has had to make the tough decisions and have the hard conversations (albeit a little later than we would have liked), so she should make the announcement.  When a boss takes away her employees power, that is a bad thing that leads to an erosion of the whole structure.  Charlotte has been the boss a long time, but she is just trying to get more screen time and it isn't going well.  The "touch the star" talk literally made me puke up a little in my mouth, the embarrassing and oh-so awkward graduation ceremony, and now this......SMH.  The only way I could agree is if Charlotte is doing it because she is calling Kelli into the office to fire her immediately afterwards.  And that ain't happening.

That was the moment I thought this whole DC organization is some kind of strange cult. LMAO!

love those videos from 90’s.  And I love 2018 Kelli rather than 1996 stepford wife Kelli.  She’s seems like a human now as opposed to the robot.

They were doing yes ma’am shit even back then?  Ugh I find that so degrading for some reason.

Ah, technically, Kelli doesn't have a "right". She has a job under her boss, Charlotte.

Kelli has been the director for decades and always announces the team. She works her ass off for that squad. So, in my opinion, she’s earned the honor of announcing the squad. Why would Charlotte insert herself into that now?

For all we know, it could have been Kelli's idea. Or CMT's. A way to shake up the same old, same old surprise. I wouldn't put it past Kelli to dream this up to really shock the girls after such a long training camp.

Among other things, VK couldn't even hold her center and fell out of her turns at Finals.  VK has shown several times she is not very spatially aware.  So no, she isn't that good.  Yet.  She could improve if she applies herself and is willing to change studios/teachers & receive better critique & apply the corrections.  As for weight, a visibly jiggling tummy is flat out not pretty, especially in the uniform.  As for her age, there have been several TCC her age with maturity so this shouldn't be an excuse.  VK needs to spend time away from her Mother, the DCC and her normal circle.  She needs life experience and time to mature.  I don't think stating these facts is mean. Just keeping it real.  If she wants it bad enough, I do hope she takes the time to improve her dancing, her weight and mature before trying out again.

As for jealousy, that doesn't factor in one iota in my comments towards the girls.  In my younger days I could kick my foot to my forehead, pull off a triple pirouette & quickly learn choreo so my comments come from the viewpoint of a trained dancer (as are many others on this board).  I speak openly and plainly.  That is all.

This ^!! So very true.

Just as much or more re: the jealousy factor.  I love to see comments from from others that have danced their whole life as well ~ I absolutely did.  This is one reason it brings me to watch religiously, season after season of DCC:MTT.  I run on adrenaline watching the sheer talent of these girls- it brings back so many memories of just being able to get in a studio and dance my &** off.  For all the amazing  skills of  so many- it's enjoyable to just sit and watch and be mesmerized- there are the ones, well, many that just aren't ready for several reasons. VK was one of them.

The show has lost its edge, in my opinion, since Season 7. The quality of the show has hit an all time low since Season 8, or has I like it call it, the Morgan Saga. I wish they would go back to the way the show was in Seasons One to Five. Kelli and Charlotte are using the show to promote the DCC Organization and Cowboys Organization. It has come down to the almighty dollar and ratings at the expense of the girls.

I think some of this is it’s just run it’s course. The first 4-5 seasons it was new and fresh and less polished. Which made it more interesting.

All I am saying is that none of US could stand the scrutiny that the girls on the show and the coaches receive on these boards.  I think that some of the jealousy on this board comes from wishing for those glory days cheerleaders/dancers never seem to be able to leave behind.  "In my younger days" are probably the operative words.

Yes, VK made mistakes in her dancing at times.  Sometimes she was excellent.  You don't make mistakes? Lol  If needing a correction meant a girl wasn't worthy, then there would be no one standing at finals.

Your opinion and others I have read that have harshly criticized various young women trying out or on the team is your opinion and I respect that.  My opinion is that people could be way more generous of spirit.

Hopefully it was done as a trick--"Charlotte needs to see "_____" in my office."

I think I finally understand why I am not a fan of Maddie's hip-hop.  When I see her dance with those other 3, it looks heavy.  It must be due to her shortness?

I for one don't watch the show to get invested in the show itself, I watch it for the girls and to see how excited they get when they get to live their dream. I don't critique anyone on the dancing cause I have no dance experience. I can attest to showmanship, but that's probably it. I'll still watch the show next year and any other year it's on because it's pure entertainment for me. I don't care if VK is going to be featured on the new season or not, she's just a character on the show. I don't stop watching my favorite shows because I don't like a character in them.

I did have to undergo scrutiny.  As did every dancer on scholarship with me.  If we did not, we lost our scholarships.  I am not wishing for those glory days.  I loved it.  I enjoyed it.  I've moved on.  Part of life is we grow older and our bodies change.  You go with it.  Now I'm a swimmer.  Great exercise with no stress to my arthritic joints.  But my "operative words" as you call them, were chosen to show that I could do the things the cheerleaders do, in my younger days.  So no, my posts do not come from a place of jealousy or not being able to do or understand what the cheerleaders go through.

Of course I make mistakes.  When did I say I never do or did?  VK, IMHO, was never excellent.  She had her moments but she has a lot of work to do before she is ready for this team.  I know I'm not the only one on this board that feels this way.  We can't all be jealous or stupid.

I've explained myself since you do not know me.  We will just have to agree to disagree.  I'm not here to argue with you.

Enjoy your day.

I always find the jealousy comments to be a bit odd. I’m jealous of the person in South Carolina who won the lottery. I wanna retire and spend the next decade traveling the world lol......some cheerleaders in Dallas, not so much. They’re all very talented and pretty, but that’s not the life I’m looking for at this point (i like making a living wage), and I’m not sure where the assumption comes that everyone who posts on the boards are un-athletic, overweight, and ugly. Some of us are content and happy with our lives and appearances. Now, i do think that from time to time, there are people who come to the boards and clearly have a personal axe to grind against certain girls on the show, but otherwise...i think most of us just comment on what we see.

I do think that many of the comments against VK were unfair, but it is what it is. In a regular office setting, when one person is constantly favored above everyone else, that tends to breed resentment against that person, which may not be their fault. That’s just life. There are definitely downsides to be the teacher or boss’s pet.

When K, J, & C get rid of those HIGH standards they set for becoming a DCC, I will stop calling the organization out on their hypocrisy. But for now, I'm shoving my "generous spirit" up ....

True. We always want to think we know who did/said/initiated what & have strong suspicions, preferences,?etc., but bottom line is that we don't always know & are never always, always right about all things.  We only know what we hear, suspect, prefer & adamantly believe (& we are all entitled to that).

36 VKs on the field certainly would spice things up.   No one would stay in their own space, there would be lots of collisions, everyone would be out of sync, and the uniforms would be interesting to fit.

On second thought, it might be the most watched halftime show ever, and could make a fortune on pay per view.

That would be a great show, and they could do a cross over with the EMTs that would have to transport the injured, and cross over episodes with Grey's Anatomy's new Ortho team.

Then all of them could go on the TV judge shows suing for emotional distress (don't try that on Judge Judy), pain and suffering, and anything else they can think of, and show slow motion close ups of the assaults.

Victoria was telling others she was a shoo-in and got away with doing things other girls would have been cut for, so yes, she needs to take part of the blame. It can make for a hostile environment for everyone. I personally could care less if she tries out again or makes the team. And I am certainly not jealous of the girls or do I "hate" the girls. I also do not think being a DCC is the be all, end all of the universe either. I think Victoria would be much better off if she steps totally away from the DCC Organization and decided to go on a different route.

You do make a valid point.  I would have loved a travel gig such as Dayton will get to experience at age 21 (although I did get to live and dance in Japan when I was 26).  Can't wait to see the photos Dayton shares!

I hate to think what it would be like to have all that money (even after the dreaded taxes) would do to me. Yes, I would love not to have to worry about paying for things, but it still would be scary because it would be a big deal where I live (Montana is one of the states who would announce who the winner was.)

I would want to take a trip to Dallas to meet Shelly, Phil, Jinelle and of course Scott the Weatherman and go to the salon where Marshall is to see if he would do a hair makeover for me.

I'm not even jealous of that. My husband went to buy a lottery ticket- for the first time ever, so he actually had to google how to play- and my first thought was, but I don't want to raise a couple of rich, entitled brats and be constantly hounded for money by strangers.

Regarding the DCC, I'm not a trained dancer myself, but I've always enjoyed watching dance and particularly appreciate effortless technique and good musicality. The professional dance/cheer world is, by necessity, shallow in a way that's not really compatible with my outlook on life, so I can't say I would trade places with any of these girls. But I can appreciate them from a performance standpoint... and snark on them when they're sometimes ridiculous/bitchy/dumber than a bag of hammers.

If you had to choose three members of the team who are the "total package," right now, exactly as they are today, who would you name?

By total pkg I mean body is on point, not too thin, not too soft. Beautiful face and makeup. Beautiful hair. Well groomed at all times. Clean, powerful, charismatic dancer with great kicks. Speaks well and comes across as warm, friendly, professional, approachable, well rounded and intelligent. Appears to be an excellent, supportive, hard working teammate. Has more on social media than "look how beautiful my friends and I are." Shows up on time and follows the rules.

Tell me who ticks all the boxes for you? You can only pick three.

Kelli, are you reading this?

Can you imagine if they had some kind of sweepstakes where buried in one of the calendars for purchase was a DCC lottery ticket?  Or perhaps few lotto tickets buried in the calendars.  Each good for a prize of some sort.  It could be good for a day spent with the DCC watching them rehearse and then see a game.    Another could be for a makeover with Marshall.  A dance lesson from one of the DCC.  A workout sesh with a DCC at Cowboys Fit.  Lots of possibilities and since it would require purchasing a calendar, it could potentially bring in revenue.  Just a random idea off the top of my head that will probably never happen, lol.

I would love to know what VK was saying in the locker room to make Kashara take umbrage.

For those of us who used to dance, I guarantee you that we could have. When you're raised in the dance world, you get knocked down a lot and sometimes it's hard---but you pick yourself up and move on. Victoria was the sheltered girl at the competition who's mom cried favoritism or cheating when her kid lost. She was sheltered and it is evident in everything she did.

I can't think of a single time on the show where I would describe VK as excellent. Her dance struggles were vast, her weight was an issue from the start and her immaturity and unprofessional-ism was enormous. I give her credit for picking up the DCC style quickly, but for that one step forward, her lack of technique and inability to stay in her own area was her two steps back. When I think of excellence I see Lacey and Hannah...I don't see VK.

Of the current team, I would probably say Lacey, Bridget, and Kashara (sometimes she can look soft, so I’m hesitant here, but generally, I like her body). I feel like the pickings are kind of slim though because there are only 3 senior vets, and I think the best dancers from Kashara and Amy’s group and the current 3-year girls are gone, while the two-years are generally lackluster and always have been, and we didn’t get to know the rookies very well.

Lauren, her instagram is definitely geared towards real life and not just "look how awesome my life is" when in reality it's just played up for instagram.

Bridget, I enjoy seeing her at work at the vets and she seems to be super sweet

Amy, I also enjoy watching her instagram stories at work at her dance studio and with her fiance.

Tell me who ticks all the boxes for you? You can only pick three.

Hmmmm, Let me think.......

Tasha, KaShara, and I had to juggle between Alexis and Lexi, but I think Alexis has the edge. (IMO)

As for jealousy---I don't think any of us are jealous of an immature, sheltered 18 year old who has an overbearing stage mom for a mother.

THIS.

I was going to answer that anyone raised in the dance world (beyond sorto f once a week class and the odd recital) is going to have had everything off this board, and MORE, said, screamed, and bellowed in their face over the years, and you either learn to let it roll off you and take the critique and implement, or you don't carry on with it.

the product of the dance world is beautiful. the act of getting there is absolutely anything but.

KaSahra

Bridget

Hannah or Lacy
