Nicole ONLY wanted Belle to know for her own good.  Riiiiiiight.  Move over Julie, there's a new supergossip in town.  I know Arianne is trying to sell it that Nicole and Eric are REALLY only trying to do this because of Allie, but the writing doesn't support that.  Especially since if Eric has to commit perjury in order to make that happen, they REALLY are just trying to "win" also.

This storyline is ruining Nicole for me.  I'm aware she's pretty horrible in many ways, but nonetheless, I enjoy her.  I don't buy her great romance with Eric, since he's so goddam dull on a good day.  Nicole doesn't generally do "dull" very well for very long.

So all of her actions IMO are mostly guided by her getting to stick it to Sami, with the eager help of far too many members of Sami's family.  Sami yelling at John didn't cause a goddam aneurysm, and Nicole pretending she's the Virgin Mary only trying to abide by Allie's wishes is laughable.  Nicole has never done anything of consequence that wasn't primarily inspired by what SHE wanted.  And sticking it to Sami is her heart's desire.

As for what Allie wants, I couldn't care less.  She dropped the kid, left a note and took off, nothing she wrote or said should matter in the least.

Especially since she was hiding in the other room and HEARD Sami say she was not going to let Nicole get her grandson.  If she was so damned concerned her "wishes" be followed why didn't she act like an adult and make sure they were.

Well if self-righteous holier than thou Eric deems it to be okay to lie to a judge, then Sami is right about Nicole's manipulation of him.

I find this whole idea that Sami caused John's aneurysm kind of hilarious.  Let's see, Eric actually killed Holly's father but he is a saint. Nicole has kidnapped, murdered and attempted murder and she is a saint.  Sami has an argument with her step-father, which he actually initiated, and she is cast into hell.

Meanwhile, Marlena is hugging her friend Ben, the serial killer, but will shun her daughter.

I'm not really rooting for Nicole and eric but I like the fact that Eric is going to do something wrong he's usually so goody goody lol.

to be honest I'm almost positive Allie will change her mind since the actress is on contract and that Tripp will end up being the baby father

Really? That wasn't what I heard. I heard that they were trying to get rid of some of the vets...but then again I wasn't watching the show at the time so I couldn't exactly say whether it came across like a rewrite or not. I just read that it was.

Yes it was mentioned in their memoir. I thought the same as well and I think the truth was in the middle. They probably wanted to do this for that reason then changed their mind.

While those are valid points Sami has done awful things herself: Rape Austin, kidnapped Belle and tried to sell her to the black market, etc. so its not like it came out of nowhere..

Oh yes, I agree Sami did many terrible things. One that I cannot forget was that bizarre Stan stuff where she actually put those guys in peril. What a weird storyline that was.

But the people being self-righteous really have not a leg to stand on. That is the issue I have especially with Nicole, but even with Eric at this point.

I would love for Shane to come to town and rip everybody a new one for supporting the man that killed his granddaughter.  Shane and Hope were really close in addition to being in-laws, what a betrayal... Ron would never write that because that would remind the audience that his favorite serial killer with the muscles is actually a monster..

You know, I can't argue with that logic!

.... I can however question the logic of that teaser, which juxtaposes a horrible moment of a mother's pain and anguish with Jake and Gabi having sex. What was with the flames and the wonky music? Huh?

I mean, at the time they put this together Gabi and Rafe were leaving the show for reals, and they don't even remotely focus on that?

Poor Kassie. I'm sure at first blush the idea of her dealing with her grief over Paige seemed like Emmy nomination material, but it's just been trash hasn't it. You got to hand it to her though, she's a pro and always does her best with the material she's given. And yes, I know she probably had no idea what would be asked of her when she agreed to return. It just sucks that what could have been such an interesting and moving epilogue to her character's arc has become a cartoon villain plot.

...is anyone else really surprised that Sami knows about Deimos' murder? I was pretty impressed that they brought that plot point up, but at the same time, it seems like it needs to be put to bed once and for all. Otherwise anyone can blackmail Nicole from here to kingdom come over this stupid character no one really liked.

We didn't like him but he was killed. IIRC, Nicole had a great self defense angle, but they all chose not to take it, and cover it up. She is now vulnerable, as a result.

The same old rehash. The same thing with Ben and Ciara. What a lazy ass writer.

I think the Deimos angle is a good one and Eric lies to protect her (this could set up GV's exit from the show) he goes to jail for perjury. Although one would think that Nicole would go to jail for murder.

Then again Xander didn't get arrested for the baby switch so....

So this is the week I'm done with the show, with Will & Sonny leaving the canvas for however long. Drop a note if you're interested and I'll show you where to get the good article scans and all that.

Steve and Kayla's intruder is going to turn out to be Tripp, isn't it?  Which means he is almost certainly Allie's baby daddy and........yawn, I just fell asleep.

I don't know why they are bothering with this stupid custody trial when we know Allie is going to turn up soon and want the kid back.  Also, based on spoilers it seems like the trial is all about Sami outing some of Nicole's bad deeds.  I've got no problem with that, but it just seems weird and anaemic that Sami and Eric's bad deeds are not going to be outed too.  If we have to be subjected to this stupid trial, at least make it entertaining and turn it into an all-out free for all.

We could probably have one full episode dedicated solely to both sides just lobbing shit at each other.  "She was a pornstar...she tried to sell her sister on the black market...he killed someone driving under the influence...she stole a baby...she lied about the paternity of her child for years and has switched numerous paternity tests...he's a mopey buzzkill...she dated Daniel...she married the guy who raped her in person and by proxy...he dated Jennifer."

And let me guess, Ron is going to have Sami cry and act shocked when Eric gets pissed at her for the courtroom shenanigans.  Sami is also going to cry and act shocked when Allie turns up and is pissed at her for not abiding by her wishes regarding the baby.  This whole visit has been an endless cycle of 1) "Hurricane Sami" blunders all over town like a bull in a china shop doing things she knows her family members will not like 2) Sami tries to hide her actions from said family members 3) Sami cries and begs for forgiveness when her actions are inevitably discovered and said family members bitch her out.  Find a new tune!

Seriously? How long is this vigil going to last. And how many times do we have to see either John or Marlena on death's door step? Couldn't we see them in bed on Sunday morning reading the NYT?  With strawberry and whipped cream and bagels?

Maybe they spent big bucks on that special effect and need to use it all they can.  I believe it was also used during a promo with Nicole and Sami fighting.  And maybe used during a Steve and Kayla flashback?

It's so fucking predictable. Adoptions never take for good on soaps unless the bio parent dies, the bio parent is never seen again, or it's a retcon in order to give an established character offspring that we never saw before even though we should have seen them being raised on the show. No woman is ever allowed to just not want kids.

I would love it if Tripp comes back and when he hears that Allie had a baby realizes right away that he is the father and goes into court demanding custody - even while Allie is gone! That would certainly shut Sami up! (As long as she doesn't switch the DNA test!)

And when the adopted kid shows up, almost always a fully grown adult, the family/parents who raised him merit a mention or two and within a matter of weeks, the adopted person is integrated into his/her bio family as if they'd always known these people.

This is so funny! I was going to post something similar. That while this custody mess is going on and its all about Sami vs. Nicole, Tripp steps in saying he's the father and he wants his child. These fools haven't given a single thought to the rights of the babjes father.

@QueenSerena I'm so sad to see you go. I truly believe we will have WilSon back one day and I hope you will come back if/when they do. I certainly don't blame you for quitting Days. I hope you know how much your spoilers have been appreciated!

There have been exceptions. On ATWT Lily was adopted but while they had their issues Lucinda was considered her mom in every way that counts.

I think AMC had it done the best with Tad at least he had a relationship with Opal but considered Joe/Ruth his parents too and was always a Martin.

Kendall not so much and I was one of the few that didn't think Erica wasn't terrible for not wanting Kendall considering she was a product of a rape her father facilitated. Then when AM's version arrived eventually it was as if none of those past issues were there.

I could see that its an Eric thing to do he's done time before for Daniel's murder(which he was responsible for) and he wouldn't want Holly to lose her mother again... this would also backfire on Sami and get everyone to hate her(although conveniently ignore Nicole not paying to go to prison for a crime she committed albeit in an altered state).

I am willing to risk that if makes certain that Nicole doesn't get Boy Horton. If Sami's family hates her, I wouldn't expect any better from that group and I would be thrilled if Sami doesn't have to come back for the annual pointless Jarlena wedding. Will is leaving town so that is one less reason for her to come to Salem. Allie? She hates her mother, so let's see how she deals with life having to earn her own way. I am sure Auntie Nicole would be so happy to have her around because they are so "close."

I wasn't watching when Tripp was around so I don't know what kind of guy he is, but from little I've gathered he wasn't a bad guy. So, if he is baby boy Horton's father, I am all for him claiming his paternal rights that Allie and everyone in her family have completely disregard during this entire debacle. It is infuriating that all everyone cares about is poor little Allie's feelings and wishes while barely giving a mention to the father's rights, and now the storyline has morphed into yet another Sami vs. Nicole fight. I would love it if Tripp gets the full support of his father & family in getting custody of the baby and then Allie returns to town to find the baby she abandoned is being raised by his father & his family. Would serve her right for all the bratty manipulating she's done.

No one knows anything about the father (and they probably haven't even made it up yet), but Allie was a party girl and she could have taken a trip and met Tripp at a bar or party somewhere. All we know is that she said everyone would be mad if they knew who it was and no more than that. I don't know why anyone would be mad at the idea of two stupid kids making babies they can't afford to take care of. He ended up being a decent guy and got out of the way because of the Claire craziness last time.

Tripp did put a scalpel under Kayla's neck threatening to kill her. I never cared that Claire did to him what he had done unto others. I just don't care for retcon kids when we have plenty of real ones that could be brought back and integrated into the show.. Dena had a hardon for Ava and Steve so she had to give them a child to eclipse Shayla's. JER did the same thing with Chelsea, Billie's resurrected fetus..

I heard a rumour or speculation that the Vitaly mob family angle will be brought back into play. If Tripp found himself being stalked or pressured by his mother's former criminal associates and family members, that might be a reason for Allie to want nothing to do with him. I just hope they don't bring Tripp back as a mobster. He wanted to be a doctor, let him be a doctor. I'm worried they're going to turn him into Ben 2.0 and have him be loyal to La Familia and therefore a sexy bad boy who might kill people 🙄 instead of, you know, a decent human being.

I didn't like Ava one bit and I really didn't like Tripp trying to kill Kayla, but at this point they have to dig themselves out of the narrative question of "why did Allie refuse to have anything to do with the kid's father?". The mob angle may be the only plausible way to salvage this if the Daddy is Tripp... because otherwise what's so scary about him?

I won't lie, I'm intrigued by this. Could be comedy gold lol. Hopefully the actor still has the really bad 'trying to grow a beard but not really capable of it' thing going on still, just to make it more funny.

I read that the mob angle WILL be part of Tripp's story and will also involve Jake and his mob story. These writers are so bad at writing stories like these. Remember when Chloe took down El Fideo (The Noodle) in that ridiculous story?

Oh God, that was so bad!  Remember when he made her sing!?!?

  • LOL 4

I'm actually not completely against this. I mean we didn't really know that the mob stuff that Jake was involved with in any way connected back to the Vitale family...so it's kind of a cool reveal, slowly set up. It will all depend on how Tripp is woven into it. If they have him trying to avoid problems with the mob, that's fine. I just don't want to see him leaning into it as his familial legacy or something.

My fear is that Ron will bring Ava back. Wasn't "AV" on one of the doors at the Warehouse of Resurrection?

I realize I'm probably alone in this, but while I didn't like that Chloe killed the Noodle (or that Shane inexplicably stood by and did nothing for years), I did kind of like that story in a way, because it had stakes and it brought Xander and Theresa back into the show in satisfying ways.

  • Love 3

Theresa was brought back to facilitate Tate's exit to the show and Rachel confirmed Tate's existence was rather pointless. Fortunately she has stayed gone since.

Xander I don't mind back even if they softened him a bit I preferred him as a pop up villain more than anything.

With Sami sticking around longer while I don't like her she does add a spark to the show and moves the needle so I don't blame Days for wanting her around. Course now that Hope is gone they'll pair her with Rafe which works for me because Hope will be free!

I would be okay with Ava's return it would give Steve/Kayla a storyline but if they neuter her like they have Kristen hard pass. The best thing about her return is that Joey would be free from jail.
