I figured this was coming months ago.  Even expected Ron would probably try to pull it off for Valentine's Day.  Allie will feel guilty for accusing Tripp and tarnishing his name when he did nothing but try to help her, and she'll fall for him. He'll be dumb enough to become sweet on her and help her raise his nephew. Plus, Allie's pool of suitors in this town is scarce since she's related to both the Bradys and Hortons. Tripp as a Johnson & Vitalli would be fair game so to speak. Sad, but true.

Jack having slept with both Laura and Jennifer, mother/daughter, is as gag-worthy as Kristin sleeping with both John and Brady, father/son.  Never the less, Jack and Laura's tryst was decades ago so the damage has already been done, and it won't faze me one bit if Gwen turns out to be the product of it.  I personally find Jack and Jennifer a snooze fest so if it makes them more interesting to sit through, I'm on board.  It's time Gwen's motivation is made clear so the storyline can move forward, and I'd like to see it be something worthwhile.

She's supposed to be but when it comes to this show and their recasts the character's personality ends up being drastically changed. CM's version of Jennifer is no different she's not Jennifer to me.  If MR were to return and they completely ignore this terrible story ever happened I would find it rather easy to ignore because it feels like the MV Jack years in the 90s where I found the whole Jack/Jennifer/Peter saga rather forgettable. Rarely have I seen a recast and think oh wow the character is still the same to me despite a different actor in the role.

In an effort to keep MM/Charlie around, I feared the show might try to present that night as more "consensual" than what they've been saying, but going by MM's comments it really was as Allie's been saying all along.  Also, I wonder if they'll finally address the note Tripp left on Allie's nightstand and why/if Charlie took it.

I think it says volumes that SOD's pick for Best Couple for 2020 on this show was Steve and Kayla, a pairing that had seen their glory days THIRTY PLUS years ago. There is always the complaint that the old-timers like John and Steve and Kayla need to make way for the new generation.

Trouble is, those classic characters had the benefit of good writing and great production values equaling fond memories for many viewers. This generation has crappy writing and cheap production values. And, let's face it, none of them seem to have the "presence" the older characters got. (That includes Ben/Ciara and Chad/Abby, the "popular" [relatively] pairings of the modern era. To me, it does, anyway.)

Even the generation before this crop, with Sami, I find a little of her goes a LONG way. The writers see Sami and think "spitfire bitch". GREAT for young Sami, but it's rather old to me now. The writers never really gave her "shades of gray" in between, IMO, and I think the character has been running in place for years now. (Just my opinion here!)

Long way of saying the best years of this show are long in the rear view mirror.

I agree. I find GH much more of a chore to get through. For the last two or three weeks, I've been eagerly anticipating Days episodes. I won't disagree that most of the storyline are horribly written and some are offensive, and yet I've still been entertained. I think both storylines have horrifically weak points, but I've been enjoying the Abigail/Chad/Gwen story and the Tripp/Charlie/Ava story. I loathe, loathe, loathe Gwen at this point and can't wait for her comeuppance but the actors are all doing a great job and, while I've been sure where this story is going from the beginning, there's still some suspense to it. I actually care about the character of Tripp and I think the actor playing Charlie has been doing a great job, plus its a storyline that's involving a lot of other characters - including vets like Steve, Kayla, and John. Now on days without those storylines, I have been less than enthused, but it's still better than GH most of these days. I've been watching GH a lot longer, and probably care about a lot more characters on that show, but there's only one storyline going on right now that I'd say I'm thoroughly enjoying.

I'm sorry, but I'd definitely take these stories over some boring story with Roman - legacy character or not (leaving aside that those other two stories I mentioned feature plenty of legacy characters and vets.) I'd be happy to see them try a story with Roman and see how that goes but if it went like the Roman/Hattie story, I'd probably be bored.

What did you expect ? TIIC simply have no idea how to craft supercouples anymore . They had potential supercouples in Brady /Chloe ,Philip/Stephanie and Nick/Chelsea and they just ruined them both with garbage pairings and bizarre contrieved breakups.

Gwen and Charlie are the most entertaining and interesting characters on the show currently for me personally. I love watching them. Ava also interests me. Jake I couldn't give a shit about but I do like him in relation to Gwen. Allie does suck but there are so many other better people involved in her story. And, thankfully, Ben has actually been pretty MIA lately, which is another reason I like the show nowadays lol.

I'm not really closely following the spoilers right now though so who knows, I might get bored again next week. And then a few months later there might be a stretch where I enjoy it again. It always cycles in and out like that for me.

This would be like the 3rd time I believe.

 

First time was when Abe shot him 

 

2nd time was when Xander shot him during the "Brady/Nicole on the run with Holly " storyline.

 

And now the Vitale goons are going to shoot him. 

 

Wow , we are truly lucky that we got such a "creative "headwriter. 

He is now ripping off the 2009 Mafia war between House Kiriakis and House DiMera which kicked off after Philip and Tony fought over Nick Fallon's invention and Tony ended up impaled accidentally. Atleast the origins of this made sense. 

 

However the new Philip vs Vitale war is extra dumb because if Carlivati had actually respected character history ,this whole money laundering blackmail would have been ended already IF PHILIP just called his ISA agent sister Billie Reed to help him out.

On top of that ,Philip himself used to be an ISA agent and a freaking Marine . 

You telling me Philip wouldnt have tag teamed with the ISA to take down Ava ? What a joke. Plus John was his supervisor  . 

Philip already has credentials that would allow the ISA to take his situation seriously and use it to nail the Vitales.

This is  why this whole Ava blackmailing Philip thing is so dumb .
