If any RH show needed a quotes thread, it's this show.

Tinsley: Mexico is home to 21 million people. Oh, these are such fun facts!

Carole: It's sinking.

***

Sonja: I thought we were going to have a Lifetime movie for a minute there.

***

Bethenny: You've raised daughters! Would you want them to act like this?

Sonja: Oh, my daughter would never act like us.

Tinsley needs to grow up. Stop whining like a child having a tantrum. You really think this is so damaging compared to your mugshot?

Amen to this!  Why does she care so much?  The way she's always ready to share her mugshot story, I think that deep down she really loves having her name in the press.  She talks about that damned mugshot like it's a badge of honor.  Also, why is she still living with Sonja when she claims to be so miserable there?  She's really starting to annoy me.

I was thinking about this and wondering about the cost. The website says you could have like 20 people at the villa, so if it's $20,000 a week and you got 20 friends or family to go then it'd be $1000 a person. Or if it's $40,000, then $2000 a person, still doable. I have a friend who has a woman's group that was able to rent a private island off the coast of Belize (I think). They were a large group so could really divvy up the price.

So I'd love to know what the villa costs so I can start making my list of 20 travel companions.

Pick me !!  I have the $1,000 plus I need a plan B for my Kauai trip. I am able to arrive a couple hours early to find  my room and have staff unload my 3 trunks. Keep me posted please.

Tinsley gets number one and she gifts it to Bethenny because she’s smarter than her clothes suggest. If things fall through with the Coupon King, she’ll need one millionaire in her corner.

The women tour the rooms and Ramona stirs the pot with Sonja. She says that Tinsley should have given Sonja the nice room and Sonja confronts her.

RHONY-Recap-07.19.2017-sonja-and-tinsley

Sonja: I let you stay in my house!
Tinsley: Mexico has safer tap water than your house!

She needs to get out of Sonja's house, which it looks like she has come to realize. But I don't get why she shouldn't be upset about the story. Who wouldn't be pissed to find out your supposed friend was going around telling people you are a shitty houseguest? It would be piss me off, and I thing most anyone I have ever met.

Tinsley talking about her mug shot is her controlling her narrative, dealing with bad press straight on herself, someone calling her "ungrateful" to the press/major gossip column is adding onto the bad press she is fighting.

I think Tinsley has been effectively gone from Sonja's pre-Vermont.I am still trying to figure out what Tinsley was suppose to grateful for?  The room with musty stuffed animals, a hostess that imposes "rules" on guest, non-potable ice and most likely water, being instructed to lift packets of sweetener, not being able to have packages delivered.  I saw it more as almost a Survivor challenge for Tinsley tenure on the show and payday for Sonja.  Yes, Tinsley should be appreciative of the basic shelter provided but I do think she is being real-it is more of a filming location.

I am guessing, and I doubt the fourth wall will allow it, that Tinsley did not stay with Sonja for five or even three months.  She may have stored some excess wardrobe but I doubt she was around when the cameras were down.  Sonja had to have noticed that Tinsley was gone for five days right before the Mexico trip.  One blogger is reporting Tinsley had a hotel room while "staying" with Sonja.  My guess is she spent some time at Sonja's but for the most part if they weren't filming she stayed clear.  As a group they did go to the Hamptons, the Berkshires and Vermont.  I am guessing while Sonja was in Thailand, Tinsley didn't stay in her home.

Sonja wanted the story of Tinsley to be about a beaten down Tinsley being brought back to life and love by Sonja Morgan.  I don't think Sonja would be capable of introducing Tinsley to anyone without first putting her mark on him.  It had to have been a big burn to Sonja that Carole was able to introduce Tinsley to someone she clicked with.  It was interesting to me Page Six was running the fruitless search for love story when Tinsley had just returned from a vacation with a guy-she is still dating.

I think Tinsley handles it wisely as she got in front of the story from the onset.

Anytime Sonja had time to spend with Tinsley in the group she opted to spend time instead with Ramona.  The only time Ramona wasn't around was in the Bronx when Dorinda went off on Sonja and Tinsley was on the sidelines laughing with Carole and Bethenny.

I believe Sonja was upset because Tinsley was able to step pretty effortlessly right back into NY society.  Tinsley has photos up on Instagram of her various events she attended.  Even one with Carole.  No need for Sonja, who I don't believe is willing to invest the money or is really welcome.

I've had a doctor tell me to use bacitracin and not neosporin because the neomycin part of the neosporin , one can easily become allergic too, causing redness.

Did anyone watch the first episode of Real Housewives of Aukland?  Where can we talk about it?  I am dying to read everyone's opinion.

I was planning to throw a party last weekend and was looking forward to comically using this after the teeniest perceived slight, but I had a surprise party thrown for me instead (such complaints!). For me, nothing will beat two Pride weekends ago when I was outside of the club and heard six gay men yell at each other: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE WITHOUT DORINDA???? I bought one of the tee-shirts and wore it on my trip to NYC and it made for a very good ice breaker.

I'd love to run into a crowd yelling Dorinda lines*. This RH franchise definitely has the best lines. A couple years ago, I went to Vegas with some friends (not long after the Turks & Caicos eps  ran), and "Don't be all uncool" was our catchphrase. Thankfully none of us did a plant into a plant a la Luann this trip :)

For sure. Ramona's behavior reminds me of a lot of expat wives I met while living overseas.  Standard middle class upbringing in the USA, but when they were in a position to hire live in help, their behavior was deplorable.   For many the  favorite topic of conversation when meeting with other wives was how terrible and inept their maids (whose duties included cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the children) were, yet they had no problems leaving their children with those same women while they took vacations out of the country.   Many wives really talked down to their maids and were very demanding.  They didn't pay them extravagantly either.  The expat wives would justify their behavior by saying how much better the maids had it with them than with the locals, because they at least gave them Sunday afternoons off.   I was looked at as an oddball because I chose to live like I always had and do things for myself.  I think Ramona is a good example of nouveau riche with a sense of entitlement, acting out in a way that's all about the privileges of wealth with no sense of noblesse oblige.    In her world she's probably surrounded by other's like herself.   Sonja doesn't seem much better in my opinion.  Interns, indeed!

OY.  This was Sri Lanka all over the place (for me).  Ugly, ugly Americans.  I was so embarrassed the entire time I was there I could not stand it.

This episode was entertaining without Roomgate. Lu falling. Twice. Lu was funny.  Drunk Dorinda. Dorinda was funny.  Carole and Bethenny not being annoying. They were both funny this episode.  Tinsley, well, just being Tinsley.

Gorgeous vacation porn. I loved this episode but could have done without Ramona and SonJa.

Given her habits, Luann looks a lot better than she should on the outside ... but I doubt her her lungs or her liver look so hot.

Ro's blog is up.  How pathetic.

http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/season-9/blogs/ramona-singer/ramona-singer-i-would-have-been

On another note:  I don't think that any of the other housewives said that Lu drinks heavily.  They said that Lu can basically hold her liquor better.  That doesn't mean she's a 'heavy' drinker.  It means when she drinks, she holds her liquor better than them.  As for the smoking.  Well, she does smoke.  And yeah, smoking isn't good for you.  But none of us knows how often she does it.  What we do know is that Lu can ski down a mountain beautifully.  She's physically active and is in better physical shape than probably most of us.  She looks great, especially for her age.

So yeah, Lu got drunk while on vacation.  It can happen.  She was in Mexico and drinking tequila, which she said she doesn't really drink.  Tequila is a mean alcohol.  I've only drank it once and will never drink it again.  Could she have hurt herself?  Yes.

But heck, Doris didn't ski because she was afraid that she could have broken a hip.  Bottom line.  We do stuff in which we can hurt ourselves.   Even when we may be great at it.  There's a danger in many things.  Crap.  There's danger every time you get in a car but most still get in one and go places that they don't 'have' to go to.   That's life.  Next week, we see housewives on swinging out on a rope into the pool.  Could you seriously hurt yourself?  Yep.

I don't love Lu.  I've had a love/hate relationship with her over the years.  But, I do give her credit for her athleticism and not overdoing the aging products. She's always looked great.  She had a 'night'.  No one, including her, got hurt.  Maybe a little bruised.

I agree about the blog-why bother?  Ramona is without any redeeming qualities.

Luann has loosened up a bit while imbibing  but she is rarely slurring her words, or over reacting because she is drunk.  Not everyone has that Sonja quality of showing her ass when she drinks.

I found this story this evening-  http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/fears-of-tainted-alcohol-at-mexican-resorts-after-deaths/ar-AAoBUic?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp  I know they aren't staying in a  Mexican resort but it does beg the question-are these fools being over served?  Granted the cast is use to drinking the Skinnygirl swill which has a very low alcohol count, so maybe they are  getting far more than they bargained for.  I know you can put a lot of alcohol in any kind of sugary/fruity drink and it is hard to detect and can catch up with one in a hurry.

Yes, Luann is typically quite the stuck up snob.  I guess I can see why her castmates wouldn't mind her getting snootful if it dislodges the stick from her ass.  I prefer her fun and laughing and not looking down her nose at everyone, too, actually.  Just not falling down drunk.  I think that's taking it a little too far.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe another person as "being able to hold their liquor" when the person had only enjoyed a glass or two of wine with dinner.  In my experience, it is something that is only said when you are talking about someone drinking a lot. And I don't think you say that about a person based on only one time seeing them drink, either.

There is a reason Luann has the reputation she has with respect to drinking, and I doubt it the result of a few vacation mishaps or imbibing a particular kind of alcohol.  The woman likes her libations.  I should think that would be pretty clear at this point.

True, we don't know how much she smokes.  She may smoke a couple of packs a day or only a few butts a week.  Based on her gravelly voice, I'm gonna guess she belongs the first category, lol

Comparing getting so plastered you can't care for yourself to making an informed choice to go skiing doesn't hold water for me.  Luann wasn't taking a reasoned risk ...  she just got really, really drunk.  Let's not try to make it out to be something other than what it was.

Quote

She had a 'night'.  No one, including her, got hurt.  Maybe a little bruised.

To me, personally, it isn't only about whether Lu did or didn't get hurt  ... she just made a complete fool of herself.   Sitting at the table doing her Foster Brooks impersonation, to staggering around falling not once but twice and having to be helped to her room by the villa employees.  It was shameful.  I was embarrassed for her the same way I have been embarrassed for Sonja or any of these other Ho's when they get plowed and stumble around like Otis Campbell.

I doubt Luann herself takes much solace in the fact that she didn't get hurt or only escaped with only a few bruises.  It must be really humiliating for Countess Fancy Pants to be seen like that on TV by the whole world.  Oh, she'll never admit to it of course. But I bet Luann would give anything to have just stayed in bed the way Dorinda did that night and not made such a spectacle of herself the way she did.

I would say the opposite is true when it comes to the Housewives franchise.  I don't find that falling down drunk, getting into drunken fights, showing one's snatch on TV, and screaming obscenities at each other on a routine basis would qualify as a virtuous lifestyle.  YMMV.

I don't mean to sound judgmental, it's just that these women take partying to a whole new embarrassing level.  Again, money truly can't buy you class.

Sung to  Proud Mary in honor of LuAnn and Ramona:

Left my great place in the city
Cruisin' with the gals ev'ry night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleep
Worryin' about my self looking oh so cheap
Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud LuAnn keep on churnin'
Drinkin', drinkin', drinkin' on vacation

Downed a lot of booze in the city
Imbibed to the hilt down in Mexico
But I never saw the sidewalk right before me
'Til I hit the bushes and then yelled Whoa
Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud LuAnn keep on churnin'
Fallin', fallin', fallin' in the bushes

If you come down to the ocean
Bet you gonna find some women who booze
You don't have to worry 'cause if you got no vodka
Ladies on the ocean are happy to schmooze
Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud Mona keep on churnin'
Boozin', Boozin', Boozin' on vacation.

Regardless of her alcohol intake Luann did have the decency to thank an ailing hostess for her efforts in making the trip possible.  Even her moments with Sonja and the rapidly downward spiraling Page Six discussion she did what was best and excused herself.  Dorinda on the other hand was too drunk to show up for work dinner.

IIRC wasn't this billed as essentially a drinking excursion?  Had Luann been inured, I might have felt differently about her post dinner behavior, but she seemed to bounce back and get an escort to her room.  It will interesting to see Wednesday how she handles the aftermath.  Nothing worse than having someone on a trip who drops out of the day's activities because they are hungover.  Luann so far hasn't made blamed anyone else for her drunkenness, nor she get nasty with anyone.

RHONY does have the reputation for being the heaviest drinking cast-they don't seem to be in immediate danger of losing that title anytime soon.

And unlike Sonja  (always flashing her crotch like a "You are here" mall sign) Luann made for a swellegant drunk.

What was even the point of Ro's blog post this week?  Two paragraphs and it is literally two paragraphs of nothing.  She didn't expound on anything, give any behind the scenes info, or attempt to defend herself. It was two paragraphs of blah blah blah.

She doesn't cop to anything. She even says she would have been fine sleeping on a lawn chair. No, honey, that was Dorinda with the gracious talking head saying she would sleep on the lawn.

I wish Dorinda and Carole blogged more often as theirs always go a bit deeper. Luann had a good comment about Carole a few weeks ago, saying she wouldn't have her eating habits judged by a woman who lives off candy and potato chips.

And she followed the conversation "big time".

I enjoyed Lu. Did she have too much tequila, yeah... We  didn't  call it "tekilla"  in my younger days.

Lu is an adult and  On vacation, she didn't break any laws.

All the housewives are grown women, and I'm sure we who watch these shows are adults and aren't getting behavior and drinking ideas from these women.

while room Gate was annoying. And Ramona disgusted me with her treatment of the staff.   Over all it was just  a bit of a laugh episode... And I enjoy that, they seem so rare anymore.

Ramona was just so bad one has to search to find anyone who is her equal in bad behavior or is even in the same ballpark.  It was almost like Satan versus a Girl Scout troop, who didn't have a chaperone.

I would prefer to see falling down drunken antics to a RH recklessly driving a dune buggy and flipping it.
