Discussing the charges against Jana is fine, but do not post any information that reveals her address/contact information- even if said documents are public (i.e. a part of court proceedings.)

Discussing charges against Jana is NOT a jumping off point to speculate on other instances abuse/neglect etc towards the M-children or to elaborate on Josh's conviction and potential victims.

It seems so random. It's been hinted I guess that Jed is particularly devout, but so is Joe.  John David, Josiah, and Jer are supposed to be pilots in training.

Joe and JD are nice, but derpy. Si will always be plagued by gay rumors, not to mention he has an unlikable wife. Jason and James are too young, and Jer's been sent to ALERT several times, indicating he's not falling in life. Jed is basically the last man standing.

Joe doesn't strike me as someone who wants to be in the spotlight. 

JD is relishing in this new season of life with Abbie, and he seems really camera shy. 

And Si is busy impregnating his wife multiple times in hopes of something sticking and tending to her every whim since she's the first woman to ever be pregnant with child.  (I just can't with that little girl).

I am sure the similarity to the legitimate charity is no accident; they're hoping that someone looking to do some real good in the community will accidently google them and contribute to their boondoggle instead.

I had no idea that authorities in Bohemia were so involved in  rescue activities halfway around the world.

The website claims that they provide 'cross trained' teams of rescue specialist.  It doesn't say what cross training these people have received nor does it indicate how they have been certified as specialists.  I suspect this is sort of a Outward Bound Missioncation for teens and young men who want to gawk at the wreckage and brag to all of their friends and family about how they were there, right in the midst of the action.

Pray they don't get in the way of the real first responders and that they don't use up too many resources that could better serve the actual people caught in the storm.

They want to collect $20,000 to 'support' the THREE planes of idiot young fundie guys who are already on their way.  I suspect this is to cover food and shelter and transportation for these adventure-seekers.  Just think what a real charity, like Habitat or the Red Cross could do with that money.

Neither John, Jason, Jana, James, nor Austin has any relevant training, do they? I suppose a few may have basic first aid skills but I have my First Aid badge from Girl Scouts, too, and you don't see me thinking inserting myself in a disaster area would be in any way helpful. Seems revealing to me that "pray" is listed as the first option on the website and the "Donate" button is front and center.

John probably has some training, jana just no, someone claimed austin is a first responder. not sure about that. Jason and James recently graduated from alert camp, surely they must know everything about every emergency.....need a sarcasm emoji...

the only needed training here was john and nathan bates to fly them in for the photo op - clearly this is a duggar/bates money maker somehow

When you love the correct Jesus, any other knowledge is unnecessary.....In fact, since it's knowledge, it's downright damaging. God did NOT give you that brain to learn stuff with, oh ye of little faith. He gave you that brain so it'd TEMPT you to learn things .... so you can PROVE YOUR FAITH BY FIGHTING OFF THAT TEMPTATION AND RELYING ON THE CORRECT JESUS ALONE! 

Haven't you people been listening?

John and Jana both volunteered at the fire dept.  so presumably have at least basic first aid knowledge. Although Jana panicked when Josie had seizures. According to Joy, Austin is an EMT.  It’s possible that he is since they would also need basic first aid knowledge st his parents camp. 

I hope they do more than what they did at Joplin when that tornado struck. 

Where are these planes supposedly landing since the airports in the devastated areas are flooded?  Nassau airport is open, but that island received little damage.

I will give them some credit for this. I can't help but think it would be a lot more helpful for them to send money, or to fly actual, qualified people or supplies to the islands. Still, it's more than they do 99% of the time.

The storm only moved off of the Bahamas within the past couple of hours. If they weren't flying directly into a hurricane, it was something pretty close. They're very lucky that they didn't add to the casualty count.

I won't believe that they're anything more than a nuisance until I see actual photos, and see if they manage to go more than a couple of days without being asked to leave and go and "help" someone else.

I lived through a natural disaster less than 10 years ago. I lost my house and everything in it.

The Duggar/Bates kidults would have been useless to me. Most of the folks who showed up, that weren't friends of ours, were gawkers. Trust me, noone is looking for the 'right Jesus' immediately following such devastation. They're looking for shelter, a toothbrush, etc. And normalcy. Not God botherers.

Thoughts and prayers can be sent from anywhere. The Duggar/Bates kidults are making themselves feel better at others' expense. As far as I'm concerned, unless they do any real work that truly fills a need, they can go fuck themselves.

They can't help in an American inner city, they can't help in their hometown, they can't help in the Bahamas, because they have nothing to offer. These fools can't even help themselves, let alone others.

The Bates, Duggars, et al., are like all the other scammers who see the donations and publicity that flood in after a disaster and try to divert as much of it as they can toward themselves.

This really burns me up.

After living through many hurricanes in NC and watching my dad work 20 hour days to get the cellphone towers back up, I wonder how close to the damage these knuckleheads will actually get right now.  They obviously had to land their plane on an island other than ones directly hit.  How are they going to get over to where the actual damage is?  They are going to have difficulties getting their plane onto the right islands, and any boats are going to be commandeered for actual rescue workers.  Emergency services doesn't play and they are not going to be giving lifts to people who bring nothing to the table.  They are not going to let Jana onto a boat if she is in a skirt and flimsy shoes.  The physics of boats says that they can carry Jana or bottled water not both, and the supplies are always going to trump a useless volunteer.

I predict that they will stay on whatever island they were able to land, and god-bother the evacuees.  I really hope that their planes get commandeered to move the sick and injured to a hospital in a safer place.

I'm not seeing how this is a bad thing. Is it self-serving in some way? Of course it is. However the vast majority of organizations/people that go to provide relief after disasters do so to not only "assist" but to be seen "assisting". As long as this group provides some assistance and doesn't take from the Bahamian people, then I don't fault them. Maybe because my timelines are regularly full of people "praying for the people of XX" disaster area but never doing anything to help. Be it monetary, spiritual or otherwise. If the Duggar/Bates bunch goes down there and helps even one then it's better than most people will ever do. Our family has survived a flood disaster and one of the things that meant the most to us was just being able to sit down and talk/laugh with others about things that weren't related. It was so overwhelming that just focusing on something else, however briefly, was a relief.

I suspect the Freetown airport will be closed indefinitely, along with the ones on the Abacos--and when they open, small planes full of random people will be last on the list.  So they're most likely at Nassau, wandering around looking for people to help/god-bother.  It would have been a better idea to send money.  But they can't get attention that way.
